V10, G4, G3 and other G model users please try my free app Key Plus for LG. It lets you toggle flashlight or launch any app/shortcut by pressing Volume button. Works without root.

You can try my free app called Key Plus that will allow you to remap Volume button to toggle flashlight or launch any app. Works on both KitKat and Lollipop and root is not required either.

This app will let you assign actions to holding down either volume button... Holding volume down will already open your camera but I like to set volume up to toggle the flashlight... I think volume up by default takes you to quickmemo which isn't very useful
You can also use my app Key Plus to change the Volume Up double tap to toggle flashlight, launch any app or custom shortcut. Does not need root.
And if you use this app, you can change what the up volume shortcut does. You can't do it with the down volume, that will always be to the camera. But it's better than nothing.
Could you please test my app Key Plus for LG? It is developed for phones with buttons on the back (G3, G2, G Pro 2, minis) and will let you customize the Volume button "press and hold" apps (QuickMemo+) when the screen is off. Works without root.

With the screen off:
You can also double tap certain empty areas (most notably the status bar) to turn the screen off.
apps designed for LG devices like Key Plus might be a good start.
The battery drain is pretty much the nature of the beast, however with root access there are a few tools available to help out with that although the results aren’t staggering. At least in my experience.
Just for a reference, most people seem to be getting avg 4-5 hours SOT with their devices here but of course ymmv.

I contacted the uploader and introduced myself as the developer of Key Plus app which he featured in the video (Key Plus lets you toggle flashlight or launch any app/shortcut by holding Volume button, without root). Asked him about the settings he used on other phones to take the night shot. This was his reply:
>Awesome work on the app! It's the only 3rd party app that I thought was a necessity on the G4! I did adjust the other phones as much as the built in camera apps would let me. There were no shutter speed options on either the iPhone or S6 which was the main factor in getting a detailed night shot. Even with the ISO maxed out on the G4, the photos were just as dark as on the other two phones with a shutter speed under 10 seconds. It wasn't until about 20 seconds that I started to gather detail and brightness regardless of the ISO setting. I hope that info helps! And great job again on Key Plus!
Yes, In settings under Sound & Notification is Notification LED(tap the text, not the on/off switch) - You can change a few colours there otherwise a setting might be in the specific app you want to change.
You can config with this app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp (Not used it personally but others have commented so I saved it).
as far as I know you can't use quick toggles with a screen lock, but you can get to airplane mode by turning on the screen and doing a long press on the power button, and you can change what the shortcut key does for the top button with the Key Plus app, since nobody needs quick memo on its own special shortcut.
While the screen is off, press and hold volume buttons to launch certain apps. With my free app Key Plus, you can choose the apps. You can even toggle flashlight.

You could try my free app Key Plus for LG, which will let you use the volume buttons (while screen if off) to launch apps or toggle flashlight
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
from what i've read some models from specific carriers allow you to uninstall it, but not mine unfortunately :( I use the app Key Plus to remap the key https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
Key Plus for LG, for me it was unknown until a few weeks back. Easy way to put a flashlight on/off on the volume up button without unlocking
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Love the flashlight pull down as well. Here's an app that will map the volume up bottom to flashlight when locked.
Turning off Wifi and stuff don't help that much. Let smart phones adapt to you. Its surprising how far they've come. - Turn on Battery Saving and get rid of apps that uses a lot of battery like Carrier Bloat, Facebook, and etc.
I'm sure Leather back was one of the selling point so I doubt that they would've sold it every where. With that said LG promo says Leather backs take weeks to make(due to some Vegan friendly leather processing method lolz). So they might have sold off everything off and hasn't made any in recent times. Besides if you want Qi or Quick Circle neither comes with Leather back only plastic.
Try quickly pressing Vol. Down twice camera launches immediately(well as quick as it can) and you can also set to take pictures as soon as it turns on as well(though it will take picture of what ever last camera u used). NOTE: U can also double press Vol. Up to get QuickNote launched or using app called KeyPlus to edit. (ie I have mine to turn on flashlight)
You can change the default gallery, just download one from Google Play.
Hope that helps...
P.S. - for Battery life to increase further you could root and use something like Greenify.
For flashlight, you could use my free app Key Plus for LG and set Volume Up button to toggle flashlight instead of QuickMemo+ which most people don't use. Beats any other phone (including iPhone) in terms of convenience.

Please try my app - Key Plus for LG. It will let you toggle flashlight, launch apps or shortcuts by holding your volume button.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Since you mentioned flashlight, I would like to mention my Key Plus app for G3 which will allow you to toggle flashlight, launch any app, shortcut, "Ok Google" voice prompt etc... by long pressing the volume button when the screen is off. All without root access.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Granted it is not as cool as tapping the screen in different ways but I suppose this is the next best thing.
Let me know what you think. I refuse to use the stock app for taking photos of my kid.
You can use an app called Key Plus to change the volume up double tap to open whatever app you want....but you have to unlock the screen after, so kind of pointless. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Sorry I totally forgot that mine does this because I installed an app that allows you to rebind the doubleclick up shortcut to the flashlight (or anything else ? I think).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Do the music controls not say there while playing music? My second screen seems to show them if I swipe to them and it won't change. My main gripe is with lack of customizing the second screen while the screen is off; if I want to turn on my flashlight I need to make sure I don't wake the screen, and after I turn it on I still need to always swipe to access it. Though I've now install KeePlus and can double tap volume up while locked to toggle the flashlight.
I think KeyPlus will fix the flashlight issue you have
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
I've mapped GKeep to it, but pretty sure you can map flashlight
"✓ Built-in flashlight allows you to toggle your camera flash just by holding the volume key, without unlocking the phone"
If others are ok with it, could you please add my Key Plus app to sidebar? It is made only for LG G phones and has generally been well reviewed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
LG G3 and G2 users can use my free app Key Plus to toggle flashlight, launch any app or shortcut, by pressing and holding Volume button while screen is off. Works without root on both KitKat and Lollipop.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
You can use my app Key Plus for LG to set Volume Up as Flashlight or any other app. Works with KitKat and Lollipop and does not need root
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Key Plus allows you to remap the volume up and down buttons to whatever app you like with out rooting. Stock on the G3 is stuck with QuickMemo for the up button and Down for the camera.
Also if you use a different launcher, Screen Off allows you to still use the tap to wake/lock function that is built in to the stock launcher.
Thanks. I found out that this app was causing the issue:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
I first tried uninstalling and reinstalling and setting my volume up to flashlight like i had on 7.0 and it worked fine for an hour but then my phone started exhibiting the same behavior. I just gave up and uninstalled it for now and my capture has been working correctly ever since.
I don't know if this works for the V30, but try this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
I have used it in the past for remapping the double volume + action.
Unfortunately, the Key Plus app stopped working with Oreo.
It worked fine for me on Nougat. The app hasn't been updated in well over a year.
It is supposedly customizable with this app called Keyplus. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
I would like to map the shortcut to flashlight, but odd that my stock Rom doesn't have vol up shortcut.
> QuickMemo+
Sorry to be so annoying. The only QuickMemo+ apk I could find was from the G4. Does anyone know where the G3 MM QuickMemo+ apk would be found?
See if this app is able to do what you want. There are ways to do this while rooted/with Xposed, but simply using this app works too.
BTW. You can assign other functions etc on the volume up/down double click with the Key+ App:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
But not sure if you can reassign Capture+ as it seems to be a subcommand of QuickMemo+.
Actually, there's an app that does that. It's a little slow when turning the light on sometimes but it actually works pretty well. It's called KeyPlus
When in the camera app, after taking a photo, hold your finger over the little gallery icon (icon of your last photo taken). While you hold your finger on it, you get a preview of the last photo you took. You can slide your finger over to the bin to delete it, or letting go returns you to the camera interface. Very handy little feature.
Install Key Plus: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp - this lets you change what happens when you double click Volume Up when the screen is off. I have mine set to flashlight.
Lower your DPI - this is sort of like increasing your resolution, but not quite. It gives more space on screen, and looks better on the G4's great screen. I set mine to 540 using Texdroider. Although this requires root, which might be a little confusing for you if you're new to Android.
P.S. What did you mean by "~close fist for shutter~"?
If you have a lg phone with back buttons use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en Link me: key plus
And omni swipe also has a built in flashlight Link me: omni swipe
Could you please check if my Key Plus app works correctly on Volt 2? It is made for LG phones with buttons on the back.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
The themed navigation bar is a fearure and I don't think you can turn that off. As for the volume button shortcuts, download this app to disable it.
Key Plus for LG is a great app for those of you with the G2/G3. It allows you to set custom shortcuts to launch any app from the volume keys with the screen off instead of the stock camera and quicknote. No root, free.
XCam G3 (also available for the G2) is a free super-tweaked camera app that goes with this paid, non-root optional settings app for further tweaking. After playing around with it, I've taken some amazing photos, and the settings app is worth the money.
I've also used Disable Service to pretty much stop all unnecessary wakelocks on my device while maintaining complete functionality.
This one has been mentioned before, Lightning Browser +, but I'll mention it again since I've been using it for at least 2 years now. It's material design, supports chromes color mode, tor, and blocks ads. It's open source, and under 1 MB. It's truly amazing and worth the price for the + version. (Color mode, and material are in the beta I think)
The app to use is Key Plus (totally free), developed by me
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
I think you're looking for this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
have used it in the past, don't remember if I like it or not...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
This can replace the double tap volume up with whatever app or action you want.
I think this is what you looking for: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
and binding the flashlight to a volume button with this app is even faster than the lollipop way.
You can change some of the options w/ this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Re: the volume button remap, apparently this app still works: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Don't think that exists.
I use this app to rebind the double tap on up volume to a different event.
Try this: Key Plus
Hope my Key Plus app works on it as well :)
Im using the app called Key Plus, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
If you find a solution to rid your phone of QuickMemo+ please let me know :D
Using Key Plus.
I use Key Plus for the shortcut keys: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Can't help you with the frame by frame though
A quick solution for this is to install Key Plus so that you can just double tap the up volume to turn on the torch.
Depends what model, since most still can't be rooted. I do recommend you install this though: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
Maybe someone could figure out how to do it with this app? I didn't see any skip song setting but maybe I'm just not seeing it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
Link is the title of the thread, but here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp&hl=en
Hmm the key plus I found doesn't say it works on V30. Will it still work? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
