Maybe you could try to install more shortcuts
>pick a activity> sim card lock settings (pic)
Nap it to your home button. Use more shortcuts from the download store and search for touchwiz

I actually do this for the windows launcher . It's really cool.
>...I'll try the solution in the video if my phone gets switched off some time.
That means carry with you a short USB cable just in case & you should test to see if it works with a power adapter or if it requires a computer for your model.
> ...Z-more shortcuts app seems to be not available in playstore anymore.
That's weird as I can open the link on my computer but not on my phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
Maybe it's because the dev removed it to replace it with a paid app instead: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=ChYK+the+dev.
Anyway there are plenty of shortcut making apps but I like that one because it's using only 3.7 MB of RAM in the background & no CPU.
>...I'm using double tap to wake up already
I don't have that feature on my Galaxy S5 16.0.
Ok you need to download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts go to activities and type in the search bar "hidden" and one app will appear, add it to the home screen and then you'll have a band selection menu in that app. To go back to normal just cycle 2 of the options in the network mode menu and normal operation will return. You may also want a signal reading app, I recommend signal check pro.
I think is not in the S8 anymore.
Youcan use this app to create one
Pick activity > Settings > VPN.
It will search for all possible activities, so will load for a few seconds.
I have Android 7.0 as well, but I don't think that is the issue. I found out this app that has what I needed, shorcuts that can be added in SS as secon click apps.
No worries, happy that fixed it!
Shortcuts are actually supposed to be a big part of Peek Launcher, since you can theoretically add an infinite amount of shortcuts to all the stuff you regularly use, without cluttering your homescreen.
Unfortunately they broke a while ago due to Google changing stuff and we haven't gotten around to fixing it. Once it's fixed though you'll be able to use 3rd party apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts to add whatever shortcuts you like, including web.
depending on your launcher the exact steps will be different but youre just making a bookmark URL shortcut. The easiest way is probably to open the link in chrome and use "add to home screen" under the menu.
When you tap the shortcut it should ask you what app you want to open it with. Assuming the URL is something VLC recognizes like m3u it will be listed.
If that isn't working, this app can make a shortcut to almost anything https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
Maybe this will help. What I did is get More Shortcuts and make a shortcut to LiveWallpaperActivity. Then I was able to easily choose KLWP.
If the S7 has problems, maybe [APP 7.0+] Live wallpaper picker for home & lock screen [S7 & S7 Edge][25/2/2017] will help.
Also, I believe KLWP asks you to set itself as wallpaper, and my S8 gave me the option between Home and Home & Lock Screen.

I don't remember how to do it on the S5 but this app should help. Open it and search for usage acces. It'll add the shortcut to it on your homepage.
Long shot but you might be able to launch it by using an activity. Bunch of ways to make one bu the easiest would be using an app like this - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts&hl=en
Find the camera app in it and expand it to see all the possible activities. There might be one called camcorder/video/something of that sort. On my S6 it's called Camcorder. Select that activity and it'll be added to your homescreen. Now personally for me when I tried it, it launched my camera but it didn't start recording. Might work for you.
Second option would be to use Tasker. Would definitely be possible with it. Now I'm not super knowledgeable with it so I suggest you head over to r/tasker for help :D
It's there but kinda hidden. You'll have to go to battery usage and it's in the overflow menu. You'll have to create an activity shortcut. If using nova, Long press the homescreen and go to add activity. Scroll down to settings and tap on it. It will open a list of shortcuts, scroll down to battery usage and select it. Now tap on this shortcut on your homescreen and it'll open the battery usage graph. Click the 3 dot menu icon and select optimize battery usage.
Alternatively if you're not using Nova you can use this app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
The steps remain the same.
Good luck!
More Shortcuts seems to do all this but better, is always free, and from a well trusted dev.
"This video shows how to turn on OnePlus One if power button is broken or stuck"
The trick is to boot in recovery using Volume down button + connecting a USB cable & from TWRP Recovery boot to system.
The guy happens to use LineageOS.
Plenty of results with this web search: "oneplus 3" how to turn on with broken power button
On my Galaxy S5 16.0 I use Z-More Shortcuts to create a shortcut to the Power button menu on Home.
BTW I also created a shortcut to Developer options with it.
I don't have your model but if you search for gestures in Settings do you have a double tap screen to turn on option?
And in System > Buttons > Home & Volume buttons: Wake device toggle?

This works on Oreo and Pie.

> One click Flashlight solution.
You can use widgets. But you can use More shortcuts. This app doesn't have any ads, It doesn't ask internet permission. So it's not sending your data anywhere. It looks like this for me. You can change that icon if you are using third party launchers like Nova launcher, Evie or Microsoft launcher etc.
Install it. You can create various shortcuts. Choose "Flashlight". And it will create a shortcut on your home screen. Now It will turn on flashlight by simply clicking on that icon. (Camera permission is required for any app to turn on flashlight. Since this app doesn't have internet access. It's safe.)
> Always on screen:
There are some apps with ads. But I never used any similar apps. I hope someone will suggest you a good solution.
Until then, Try Blackr. It doesn't have ads, Internet access. But It doesn't lock your phone. So It's not perfect solution for your problem.
Did you try More shortcuts. Not like a search engine. But you can place shortcuts on home screen.
I'll link in a minute
Edit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
You can do it with these 2 apps
Add "Application & shortcuts" to the dropdown, re-open the drop down, tap the added icon, select the second More Shortcuts, type "home" in the search, select your launcher. No root, no exposed needed.

you can try playing with more shortcuts, entering the information manually. There's probably something better
Nope, it is an app from the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
give this a shot I believe it will work (but will take a little bit of setup time): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts&hl=en
if it was working as intended it wouldn't be crappy... I seriously am so confused why you think it's normal for it to be crappy. that's so weird to me.
Try this get this app.
Check out "More Shortcuts" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.moreshortcuts
Then go to settings and look for a page that looks like this labeled "call Sound preference"
disable it from there.
Don't end up one of those guys that goes around spreading hate though claiming "the noise cancelation sucks, I had to disable just to make calls work right"
it works awesome for me and those types of complaints have costed me so many cool features that I don't get to use anymore. and there are never any other ways to get the feature back but wait a few years and hope.
I loved the true tone display for instance that we had way before Apple "invented it" and all the haters destroyed it.
They wouldn't believe that it was a deliberate feature since "if it was a thing the media would have covered it"
