Yep! I had it on my phone for a bit. It popped up in a reddit thread before and it was neat to use but I didn't bother to reinstall it when I got my new phone. I set it to "El Psy Congroo" when I installed it haha. I'll go through my app install history and I'll see if I can find it
EDIT: Not sure if it's been posted somewhere else here but here ya go!
OpenMic+ for Google Now Allows you to customize your hotword to trigger Google Now. I don't know if it will work with Assistant, but you can try.
Actually to be honest, I use Motorola's preinstalled app on my Moto which helps me to set custom launch phrase or even whistle
But I have read and experienced (quite a while ago tho, it could have changed) that Commandr does the same on other phones well we are outta luck then, I will see for myself tho and report back
For now: Check these out maybe

And try this too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic.Pheonix
I haven't used this app on my Moto X, but it worked flawlessly back on my Note 2. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic.Pheonix)
Perhaps this can help some of you who want to use Google opposed to Moto, it works from any screen even when the screen is off. Again, I haven't used it on my X, but my experience with it was great.
I don't know offhand because I didn't investigate since I didn't want to kill my battery. IIRC there's an xposed mod, and also an app in Play.
Edit: The app was called Open Mic
"OK google: call 911"
You have to have Open Mic+ or a similar app that allows Google Now to work with the screen off and an app like Speakerphone EX that automatically activates speakerphone if the phone isn't near your face.
Not with Google Now. You can use something like Open Mic+ and have a custom hotword, however it won't be as fast and accurate as the Google one
Just so everyone knows, you can do this. There's an app called Open Mic+ that lets you change it. Personally I'm not a huge fan (it didn't work too well for me - too sensitive), but it's worth a shot.
Even if there was some ability to enable always listening either by sideloading a modified google voice app or something like this it's doubtful that ok Google would work with the remote's microphone without significant battery drain. You would most likely need some microphone directly connected to the box (no idea if there's actually one built in), there are a few Android TV certified webcams that might work.
Tasker might be an option but might require some serious workarounds.
This might be possible on one of those generic Chinese TV boxes but IMO it's not worth it to deal with such shitty hardware.
Any version of open Mic + below 5.4 should do this(google required the dev to use an alternative search engine after that because the server was receiving too many requests and now it doesnt work with now and whatnot)

(reffer to changelog about why I said to get a version before 5.4 and you may grab earlier versions from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2450131)
Theres this

It would be even better if it let you do searches on google like the previous versions(it got too big and google complained about the amount of searchs it was doing)
With Open Mic+ you can change your keyword.
i think what you're looking for is Open Mic+.
You can with this app.

Maybe this will be of use to someone? Open Mic+

Open Mic+ is a little buggy but a great way to change the activation phrase. Anything is better than, "Okay Google."

I knew I'd changed the hotword before, and I just remembered I used this. Works great.
Install the application Open Mic+. This will help with that!
OpenMic+ kind of does that but it's through the OK Google command.
It's mostly software. I'm sure motos is more intuitive but open mic works similarly. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RSen.OpenMic.Pheonix
Open Mic+ does this.
100% sure this is what you're looking for.
