I use the app on my phone (android - it's the official roku app). You can use your phone's keyboard. Here's a link (again, for android):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote
It has a web interface of some kind; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote
If I owned one, I could rig something up pretty quickly.
There's either a (local) web interface hidden on the Roku, a cloud interface to the Roku, or something.
I know there's an app on Android that is basically a Roku Remote. It works as long as your phone and TV are connected to the same network.

There are Roku apps for Android and iOS that do this.
Roku by ROKU INC for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/roku/id482066631?mt=8
Roku for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote
> You have the right one on the Amazon link.
You know I looked a bit closer on the Amazon link and I am not sure that this is something that I can download for and android television. If I did not make it clear I have no ROKU devices. Someone commented:
1.0 out of 5 stars They revoked general Android compatibility! Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2021 Verified Purchase Til it works on all Android devices, not just the FireTV modded version of Android, this app is useless.
And the link to the play store was the first one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote and taking a look at that it also appears that I need a Roku device to use that.
Perhaps I misunderstood the posting but I thought there was an independent Roku app that I could get preferably from the play store that I could download (not side load) to my android television. Am I just confused? TIA.
I don't know what models are compatible with this app but I use it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote
I have the 2020 6 series. I am pretty sure the remote that it comes with is wifi. My TV was randomly turning on. I had no idea what was causing it. I pulled the batteries on the remote and everything is fine now. I even put the remote in the basement to be 100%. :)
I cannot find it on my phone but if I navigate to the Google Play page on my browser, it says "This app is incompatible with all of your devices." and shows my S10E below it.
There is an Android app if you want it, and a UWP app, too. I don't know (but am 99.8% certain) there's an iOS app, too.
I don't know anything about the stream stick, but I'm pretty sure you can buy the remote separately or maybe use the Roku app for your phone.
There's a Roku app you can get that will control your Roku. I use it with my Roku 3, but I can't say if it'll work with a stick.
The app is just called Roku on the store.

Is there a reason to buy this when the official Roku Remote app is free?
I lost my remote before and downloaded the app on my phone; it took a few steps but it was able to work.

Supposedly through the app of which I know nothing about! You have the touch so you'll have the power to enable it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote&hl=en_CA
you can just download the roku app and use that
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roku.remote&hl=ro
Acum am vazut: Această aplicație este incompatibilă cu toate dispozitivele dvs.
I suppose it may not be, which is really silly considering its description on the Google Play Store. :\

Read the description of the app above and you can probably see how I got confused.
I guess I'll just uninstall the Roku app and get the Prime TV app for my mum instead.
