Unfortunately there's just no way to read it as an epub :( Though many people install a kindle app on their phones, turn the brightness down with an app like Screen Dimmer, and read Amazon books that way :)
I know, I really wish it could go on sale in Canada too, but the promotion engine on Amazon forbids it.

With this app there will be a sliding control in your notification area so you can dim your screen very very easily. This is a life saver.
From what I've read, probably not. If you've ever heard of yellowing of a screen after a few months to years of use then this speeds it up. The tint in the screen may be good for your eyes, but not your phone. I reccomend a screen dimmer it doesn't yellow and you can set a similar schedule compared to Twilight
Hey just use this app to dim your screen: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom It's got a built in timer to turn on at night & off in the morning. It's been saving my eyes for the last 3 years.
At night & in dark places (movie theaters) I use an app called Screen Dimmer that let's me make the screen as dark as need/want it to be. And the neat thing about it is its got auto timer that turns it off at whatever time I want in the morning. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom
To piggyback off of your suggestion, Screen Dimmer is also very useful, for those that do not have an AMOLED display. Also, Twilight is a good alternative to the popular desktop application called Flux.
I'm not sure about Dimly, but Screen Dimmer can be set to a schedule
Get an app like, this
Either way, this app really seems to do the trick: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom&hl=en
I use "screen dimmer" no root needed, and I'm pretty happy. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom
Screen Dimmer performs similarly. I'm using it.
Try this app out that dims your screen from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom
There is an app on the play store that does this without root I believe: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sebmorand.brightcom
