I'm using a USB mouse connected to a cheap USB OTG adapter and ScummVM downloaded from the play store. You can get the roms online.
I've tested the following games:
And they all work great.
EDIT: This is a 1st gen Moto G
ScummVM. Full disclosure, depending on where you live and whether you own the original games etc, there may be copyright issues.
ScummVM will run it. Since Fate of Atlantis is a copyrighted work, I won't link to any downloads for it. If only there was some kind of internet search thing you could use to find it.
I highly recommend you consider ScummVM. Works great and you can play all the classic LucasArts PNC games..
For that reason I put ScummVM and Secret of Monkey Island as my top pick.

You can get a bunch of those games for super cheap a little bit longer

Your laptop should be able to handle at least most of the King's Quest games without any problems. I can play at least up through KQ6 using an emulator on my android phone (see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm). I don't think the emulator supports the later KQ7 and KQ8 games. I suspect my phone could run them though if the emulator worked.
You might have an easier time running it on SCUMMVM:

I just recently tried it out and it runs fine, the only odd thing is that saving is convoluted. You can't use the normal SCUMMVM menu save, you have to use Discworld's in-game save which requires you to bring up the Android keyboard and pressing a key:

The most recent game that I really enjoyed on an Android emulator was The Simpsons Arcade Game. I spent countless quarters back in the day on that bastard and never got much further than the third or fourth level. Now with the power of emulators and unlimited "coins" I could finally finish the game!
Other than that I have found that if you spend enough time getting used to the controls, most any game is worthwhile. Sure, touch controls aren't optimal, but I've played through Super Mario 64, Castlevania Symphony of the Night and most of Metal Gear Solid (I did hook up a controller for a few hard to control boss fights).
And since everyone else seems to be mentioning turn-based RPGs, I'll suggest another type of game perfect for touch screens: old-school point and click adventure games.
SCUMMVM plays nearly any of the great adventure games from the 80s and 90s:

Some pretty good classic ports. As well as the 2 Simon the Sorcerer games on android, you have : Sanitarium / Broken Sword / Life is Strange / Thimbleweed park / The Cave / Machinarium.
I'd download Scummvm and then you can check abandonware sites, play games such as indiana jones / Beneath a Steel Sky, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Lure of the Temptress to name a few.
I use Scummvm for eye of the beholder for instance. You can get some classics from GOG games as well.
Scummvm:

Check out Scummvm website for more info some free games and list of compatible games :
I believe you only need to install scummvm and then get some files from the game into your device (download or copy from the cd). After that, scummvm will be able to play it.
For anyone missing the likes of Monkey Island and other Lucas Arts stories, may I suggest ScummVM - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en_GB
I had an Amiga 500 with extra 512KB expansion and a second floppy disc drive for backup purposes only
There's a version of SCUMM VM for android on the play store, but I've got no idea how well it works. If it does, you should be able to play a decent range of the old games. Doubt you'd be able to play the remastered versions though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm
The version of QFG1 on my phone is VGA, so no. I do have other Sierra games also on my phone (such as QFG2) which do use the text parser. I use the ScummVM launcher and gamefiles from my Steam installation on PC.
Sure. Go here and download scummvm: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en
Scummvm allows you to play pc adventure games basically on android, in other words, point and click like monkey island, indiana jones and the fate of atlantis etc.
Then you need to search in google for the grim fandango iso, although there is an android version anyway.
You can also see loads of scummvm games st emuparadise that you can download.
If none of that works, try something like magic dosbox.
SCUMMVM is extremely easy to set up. The latest version just recently got uploaded to the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en
Games themselves can be bought from places like GoG and Steam. Not all classics are available to purchase, so if a game isn't listed on either of those stores, you'll have to find it from other, less honorable places. :) We can't help you with that here however.
If you bought the Humongous Flash Bundle that happened like a year ago and would like to play them on Android, you could just download and install the DRM-free installers or Steam versions, copy the game files to a phone/tablet, and emulate them with ScummVM, which is almost certainly what the Android versions in this bundle are doing.
EDIT: I made a script that will copy the files for you. Just double-click it and go! It will check for the 33 Humongous Entertainment games on Steam that use Scumm, as well as their respective DRM-free versions from that Humble Bundle (there are only 26 of those, because reasons). If you have the games installed in a non-default location, you can put the script there and run it, or you can run the script and you'll be prompted to input the directory name. It copies the essential files Scumm needs, as well as a few extra things (manuals, help files, ScummVM config files, etc.--<1 MB per game). Enjoy!
EDIT 2: Here's a Mac/Linux version of the script. It isn't quite complete, hence the v0.8. It's untested on Mac, and for Linux I've only tested it on Lubuntu 15.04. It assumes that you have the games in the default install location for Steam, or already know to run it in the same directory as the games if you're using a custom install location--it doesn't notify you if it can't find the games, unfortunately. Also, you might have to mess with the file permissions if execute isn't set to on. And when you run it, if you're asked to "Execute" or "Execute in terminal", go with "Execute".
The DRM-free versions install by default to "C:\Games\Humongous Entertainment", and the Steam versions will of course probably be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common" (or just right click the game in Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files ;). You could copy the whole directory if you want, but it usually includes ~40 MB of files you don't need, so I'd recommend checking this page on the ScummVM wiki that tells you the data files you actually need to copy (you have the Windows version, not DOS or Macintosh or Windows Demo).
So if I were to install the DRM-free version of Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear's Activity Pack, I'd navigate to "C:\Games\Humongous Entertainment\Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear's Activity Pack" and copy these files over to their own folder:
Then just open ScummVM on Android (or your hacked Wii or PS2, or a variety of other platforms), browse for the files, and there you go! You control the game either by tapping the screen, or there's an option to use the screen like a laptop trackpad to move around a cursor. Enjoy!
* Just a note, you can't emulate Pajama Sam 4: Life Is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff! or Putt-Putt 7 this way because they don't use Scumm; and if a game isn't working on a platform, it might not be supported; the DS version of ScummVM, for example, doesn't support any Humongous Entertainment games.
You can play any of the old Monkey Island series using ScummVM (my favourite was The Curse of Monkey Island), or most of the old DOS games using Dosbox Turbo [Free version].
My favourite PC game on Android is probably Max Payne, though.
This game is still the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word "Atlantis," and it remains the best DOS game and the best Indiana Jones game I've ever played. If you aren't familiar with it, you're missing out on something truly wonderful. If you haven't played it, or if you are familiar with it and want to play it again, I've put the links to it down below!
But first, a primer:
> Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is a point-and-click adventure game by LucasArts originally released in 1992. ... The seventh game to use the script language SCUMM, Fate of Atlantis has the player explore environments and interact with objects and characters by using commands constructed with predetermined verbs. It features three unique paths to select, influencing story development, gameplay and puzzles...
>The plot is set in the fictional Indiana Jones universe and revolves around the eponymous protagonist's global search for the legendary sunken city of Atlantis. Sophia Hapgood, an old co-worker of Indiana Jones who gave up her archaeological career to become a psychic, supports him along the journey. The two partners are pursued by the Nazis who seek to use the power of Atlantis for warfare, and serve as the adventure's antagonists. ...
>Fate of Atlantis was praised by critics and received several awards for best adventure game of the year. It became a million-unit seller and is widely regarded as a classic of its genre today.
Andrew McCarthy has compiled an exhaustive list of trivia about the various versions of the game and its releases here, including shots of all the packaging, original artwork, and screenshots that never made it into the game.
If you'd rather watch other people play the game for you, while providing often informative and funny commentary to go along with it, you'll enjoy Mostly Walking's YouTube playthrough of <em>Fate of Atlantis</em>.
"Come on!" you say. "Get to the game links already!" Okay, okay, here you go. There are three possible ways to do it:
If you don't mind playing on a hinky tiny screen that requires Java, you can play it in your browser here at RGB Classic Games. (Warning: requires Java).
Better yet, play it the way it was meant to be played.
1) Download ScummVM. (Also available for Android!)
2) Run the installer. This shouldn't take long at all.
3) Download the game files from emuparadise. (Download link is two-thirds down the page.)
4) Extract that *.zip file to its own directory.
5) Run ScummVM, and click "Add Game." Select the directory you unzipped the files to and boom, you're in the game.
6) Try not to drown in nostalgia.
You may need the game manual, and even if you don't, you might want to look at it anyway, because it is quite easy on the eyes.
You might also want a walkthrough at some point, because some of the puzzles in the game can get rather tricky, especially if you're not well-versed in point-and-click adventures. But I encourage you to try to get through as much of it as you can without a walkthrough, because it's incredibly satisfying to do so.
ScummVM works great on Android too.
Or just get this to play them (and many other great point & click adventure games!) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en
Three I've been using the most are:
In the past I've been using some SNES emulator, but I can't recall its name.
In addition:
DosBox in your ChromeOS.
I know there's something called ScummVM that allows you to play old point-and-click adventure games.
You could try the ScummVM app if you like old style point & click adventure games. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=en_GB
You can download Beneath A Steel Sky, Lure Of The Temptress and Flight Of The Amazon Queen which are ScummVM games for free off GoG. Just copy the game files into the relevant folder on your Android device (you'll have to check the instructions as I can't remember where off the top of my head).

Have you looked into the GPD XD Plus? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWyrX8d_nAI Although it is an Android device nearly the size of the 3DSXL (I used my 3DSXL case for it when I had one), there are lots of emulators such as:
Of course you would not have the ability to play any PC game on the XD+ unless you are using GeForce Now https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/ or something like it.
Before going the route of an Android device like the XD+ to suit your needs, I suggest trying the emulators listed on a Snapdragon 800 series phone if you happen to have an older one laying around, there are many gamepads which may fit thereby turning that older android phone into a portable game system (for your desires even an older OnePlus 1, 2, or 3 will be powerful enough).
Lastly a new device called Odin with the emulators listed above could be what you are looking for.
Good luck, and IF you don't find what you are looking for, I have a VERY lightly used GPD Win 1, which I may be convinced to part with. I may be even persuaded to part with my Win 2 AND the 3rd party heatsink with fan I never installed years ago. Why? Because I have the 2020 Win Max soon to be upgraded to the 4800U when it ships and I install it, plus an Aya Neo which I SHOULD have in my hands this month or early next if promises are kept by Aya. Just PM me if you'd like to purchase.
I hope everything I typed helps you make a decision.

For Lucasarts games, and most point and click adventures, dont use Dosbox, use ScummVM:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm&hl=es
Well, on Google Play it is hard to find. Also because the store entry refers to the 2.0.0 release.
Installa Scumm e sei a posto, ti permette di giocare la stragrande maggioranza delle avventure avventure grafiche di una volta.
As mentioned - Free: https://www.gog.com/game/flight_of_the_amazon_queen and Free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm
is sufficient enough.
*don't forget; No more iTunes. A God awful program *Virus on Androids are a myth. Stick to the playstore and you will be fine. *Check out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.scummvm.scummvm if you like emulators. Simon the sorcerer ftw!
