Yeah MODs are great. I used to load them, save the samples to disks and try and create my own tracks.
Currently my ST is in a state of repair and my Amiga is inaccessible but I hope this becomes a thing cause I'd love to see a few examples of peeps tunes or obscure platforms.
As a side note, I was aimlessly browsing Google Play Store and found a great app, ZXTune. It pulls mods from 8 sources (https://modarchive.org/ etc.). It caters for a load of formats, not just .MOD, can save / load from storage and create playlists like your average music player app, and it's free, no ads, just works and has many other features.
If anyone is interested in playing the SPC files and has a Android, I really recommend ZX Tune.

It can also play the game files to Mother (NSF) and Mother 3 (GSF).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zxtune ZXtune will do them all, but i can't vouch for the accuracy on the IT files - should be good though! it's much better than droidsound in terms of general accuracy and file type support.

I veri nerd usano ZXTune e la collezione di file originali :D
There's a huge collection songs you can download from here.
You can also try grabbing a snapshot of the mod archive, or the 20A3 package. (I had to reupload it to mediafire since the original site seems to have been taken over.
If you have android, you can grab ZXTune, a music players that plays all sorts of filetypes.
With that, you can carry an absolutely massive amount of music with you.
There's also a dude called Krelez on youtube who has a playlist dedicated to longer chip mixes. He used to have download links, but not anymore, but you can also download the videos through a youtube converter website.
Edit: only now saw you mention modarchive, disregard that part. The 20A3 pack might still be good if you're into NES stuff.
If you've on android there's this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zxtune
Twitter, VLC, Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram, ZXTune
There's likely a good chance the music has been ripped already. The forum there has resources for ripping music yourself, I think, but I've never done any research there.
Playing these files is a bit tricky, though.
On computer? Winamp plus the Chipamp plugin bundle can handle it. foobar2000 plus various decoders like "USF Decoder" for N64 games or "Game Emu Player" for various other systems works.
On Android? I know droidsound-e works, as does ZXTune.
One problem with using the above is that the songs may not be tagged properly or at all, so you'd have to play certain tracks to see what music it is really is. If you'd rather not deal with these bizarre sound formats, KHInsider has a bunch of game soundtracks, too.
I take the nerdy route and go straight chiptune file emulation. You can have multiple console libraries in a couple of GB. Also chiptune communities that release new things daily. Once your dip your toes into PS1->newer mp3s may be interchangeable though.
Here are some utilities that one could use to enjoy chiptune!
Foobar2000 + foo_gep plugin for Windows. Fugly, but works soo good. The well goes so much deeper for console music supported in plugins.
Droidsound-E or ZXTune for Android. Both have repos for consoles
Modizer for iOS. Has repo for consoles but uses ancient web browser
If you utilize vanilla RetroArch, you can play them there as well using the Game Music Emu core
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zxtune if you've got android this app plays the files from there
I also found an android player for this format, if anyone cares https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.zxtune
I found this one:
ZXTune
I don't know about playing from your game boy, but with the ZX Tune player app you have access to thousands of game soundtracks.
