These are just the new normal prices for this brand and SD cards though, the 32 GB has been this price for 2 months, the 64 GB 1 month.
I own this version and to be quite honest, it’s a very well done remake. I’m noticing that most first-party titles released at the end of the 3DS lifespan don’t use the 3D feature of the console, and this game has one of the best implementations of it.
The game feels very natural to play on the 3DS and includes some extras worth playing again if you are a fan of the GameCube version.
Edit: For anyone still on the fence, the price is (currently) cheaper on Amazon by mere cents ($28.35 at time of posting).

The 3DS is 239 g and the 2DS is 261 g. That's just over 20% less despite having essentially the same battery life.
There is also a slight difference in distance between the buttons and top trigger because the 2DS is a little more compact.
Everything else is the same.
For us, and our totally subjective opinions, the 2DS is more comfortable to use for long gaming sessions. I consider my hands large (4" wide palm, index to wrist 8", and extended thumb to pinky 9.5"). For me the decreased weight means I can use the 2DS for 2+ hours without any grips. but I need a grip for the 3DS for anything more than 30 minutes.
Coupon still works until the 3rd of August (if you have one), but no new coupons are being given out.
This page doesn't reflect that fact.
So don't bother downloading the game and logging in to kongregate on it, you'd be wasting your time just like I did.

It's been up for pre-order about three hours now or so, so I contacted an online rep (again) to see if this meant they now had stock to fill my (and other's) orders. The rep stated that yes, they are looking to fill out orders with this new stock, and while they had a lot of orders to fill out, that I should be getting a shipping notification (I ordered mine to ship to store) by Tuesday. My order has been on hold since Thanksgiving morning.

Honestly it varies from person to person and it just comes down to personal preference. Some people like myself rather enjoy the 3D effect while others don't really care for it. In the past I would have suggested going to a retail location to try the 3D on a display model but you won't find these anymore as it's all 2DS XLs now and it's been that way for awhile. Maybe a GameStop might let you test drive one? i don't know. I'm not sure what to suggest. No one really carries the New 3DS XL anymore btw. The only really reliable place to find it is a refurbished unit direct from Nintendo (which are basically like new in my experience and also include the standard 1-year warranty).
As far as current deals go Amazon has the Purple & Silver 2DS XL for $139.99 and GameStop has some 2DS consoles $10 off this week, although most of them don't seem to be available online so it may down to local store stock. Pro tip: if you have a mobile device get the GameStop app and use it to check local stock instead since it will show you more detailed infomation like "New" vs "Pre-owned" condition instead of just saying "Call Store" like their website likes to do these days.

I was looking around for a capture card for my 3DS (new 2DS XL) and found one on Amazon that doesn't look too expensive, but since I have no knowledge about capture cards, I don't really know if it would work well.
What I want to do is just film my 3DS while I play and then have the video file on my computer. Having a cord connected to my 3DS is no problem.

I just picked up a purple 2DS and 6 used games my gf wanted, but they don't have cases. I would like a nice way to wrap them that will also give her a way to display them. I wanted to do the DK Barrel but $35 is more than I spent on the games. She won't travel with it. She also has a bad habit of not playing games she doesn't see - so I would like to avoid zip up cases.
Does anyone know of anything like the DK Barrel, know where I can get decent replacement cases, or have any other suggestions?

Alternatively, the Sea Green 2DS is beautiful and I actually want one for myself. I've seen a few dusty ones at Target.
The sense I get is that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is generally regarded as the best in the series and Generations is 2nd at this point. Some people might flip those two but if you were to take a poll I think MH4U might come out on top overall. Plus you can get it for like half the price of Generations so you might be better off, and there are surely many hours to be put into it and by the time you do so Generations might be cheaper by then if you want more. I think the digital download version is also on sale for $20 on the Nintendo eShop currently since there is a Capcom publisher sale through next week I believe.
As far as some other titles to start a library goes, it depends on what genres you like of course, but it's hard to go wrong with any of the main 3DS Zelda titles (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, A Link Between Worlds), Donkey Kong Country Returns, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Shovel Knight, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Star Fox 64.
Resident Evil Revelations is also very good and currently on sale for $5 on the eShop, which is a steal.
