Warcraft was initially a bitter parody of Warhammer, since Games Workshop refused to let Blizzard use their IP. The very first Warcraft game had very Warhammer-y orcs with very similar design and chaotic evil alignment.
Warcraft II changed things, mainly changing design of orcs to that closely resembling modern one, and making them more sympathetic by giving them proper backstory. This was essentialy the beginning of Warcraft lore as we know it.
Compare designs of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans cover with ~~Warcraft II cover~~ (see below) to see how their design evolved.

This is my code, you can run it again to get a live view on the price of a full collection of common/uncommon
EDIT: Includes rare cards as well
https://repl.it/repls/ExhaustedUnwieldyCensorware
And the average pack value (when selling the cards) has plummeted to an all-time low of $0.52 - $0.54 today. That's the last influx of players just selling the free cards from the level-ups, with no intention of coming back to the game.
I don't think you've been paying very close attention... or attention at all, I guess. Exhibit A: https://krita.org/en/item/krita-in-the-windows-store-an-update/
Remember that whole Windows S thing? That was designed to only support the Windows Store and not include the ability to install Win32 applications (like Steam).
This is the In-Win BQ656T. It's an ITX case without a GPU slot, so naturally you'll have to get an AMD APU to play games. I used the Ryzen 2400g, it's actually unbelievable how powerful it is for being so tiny. It runs Dota 2 at 90 FPS on ultra settings 1080p. I cranked it up to 2560x1600 to test the native res on the portable monitor and it was still managing 30-40 FPS! Crazy!
Here's a link for the case, you can find more pictures of my rig in the reviews!
Very cool!!

I've modified your code to represent the 10 starter packs. I just substracted the costs of 80 random commons and 30 random uncommons.

The price drops to ~ 45€

Cheers

really cool, thank you.
EDIT: in 5 Minutes it went from 2200$ to 1280$
EDIT 2: I slightly modified the code to record the price every minute and save it to history.txt. I'm gonna go to bed soon, so if anyone feels so inclined to log this out of interest, go ahead. AFAIK, you will have to run this on Desktop. https://repl.it/repls/CheapCheerfulFact
EDIT 3: Quick Graph.
> This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

I am not an original author, but I changed the code a bit to include prices for full pauper (commons) and peasant (commons and uncommons) collections too if someone is interested in playing only those.
I also fixed Bristleback not being included, but that is only a very minor price difference.
https://repl.it/repls/FrostyLightheartedInstitutes
Prices at the time of posting:
PAUPER 11.71 PEASANT 44.46 FULL 270.60
EDIT: Keep in mind that the "real" price of pauper is way cheaper than that cause we got 2 decks that are full of commons with the game.
Inspired by this post, I have created an Android App that collects the best Artifact content from all around the web.
You can download here: Artifinder - Companion for Artifact Card Game
Feedback is welcome. Thanks for your time!
I recommend Faeria. It is B2P and you still need to grind to get the cards after you buy, but it is cheap and the grind is very fast compared to other games. It's the only CCG I currently play.

Yes there is. "Big" tounaments have about 2500$ in prizes. Small ones have a few 100$s. I linked 2 recent ones so you can get a feel.

Edit: If yo are getting into it it is probably worth buying the 40$ package, as it also gets you the new DLC and about doubles your grind speed.
I thought it was a good time to reflect on the direction of card games, as they are in an interesting place right now, with a lot of possibilities. You can also go straight to the poll https://www.strawpoll.me/16585981 (you can vote for multiple paths). Very curious to hear your thoughts! Anything that I missed?
The machines that are Metal-graphics capable are roughly the same as those that can update to Mojave 10.14 - is yours on the compatible list, e.g. http://osxdaily.com/2018/06/05/macos-mojave-compatible-macs-list/? If you think it should be but it's still not working, shoot me some email we can exchange some info about why or why not.
Not at all - rotation is when entire sets of cards move out of the current legal format and are often used in eternal formats. Rotation and bans can go hand in hand, but normally reserved for extreme cases or in eternal formats where it make sense. Ban list alone creates for an unhealthy market and causes cards to spike (up or down) in price when it happens. This is undoubtedly worse for the player as a steady market with fixed dates on when cards will no longer be able to be used allows predictability and a player to sell said cards.
To better understand rotation, here's an article explaining the back and forth MTG has had on the topic.

Made slight changes to the wording on the questions and seems to have screwed up the answers/graphs, thanks google! Sorry about that. Edit: Stopped submitions, the reformatted results from the 258 responses can be seen here: r/https://tinyurl.com/ycmamu6l

Should be closer to 1.17 rare 3.23 uncommon, and 7.6 common

There's a few EV scripts floating around and many of them do not calculate the expected value higher than the base 1/3/8. I prefer this script since it follows the numbers in that other link.
Here's one that I've been using
I didn't write this, but I've read through it and it has the proportion of the extra rares/uncommons that can happen.
Reminder that EV is merely an average value of packs, and right now the higher values are locked up in ~5 rares mostly.
Interesting, so it costs $280 to get a full collection.

non US pack EV is pretty fucked (common price floor is 0.02 usd there)

The catch if you buy packs is that you will get a lot of cards that will sell for $0.04 or less, so the best EV is to make them into tickets. As such, packs aren't so good if you don't want tickets.
I myself can play it for free. It was stated. Just new content for me and people like me will cost money.
If you want to play it right now and play it for free after 9 days, I think you still have to pay cause you probably will not have card collection like I do.
If you want to read about p2p switch, read this article: https://www.faeria.com/news/announcements/221-faeria-friday-forward-to-the-future
It was a little hard to follow with all the "XXX" plastered everywhere. 'Long haul' has a pretty clear meaning, but maybe English isn't your first language so here's the definition:
> The long haul: a period of years rather than days, weeks, or months.
> I want to invest my money for the long haul, not just to get rich quick.
I had to disable SIP to get any Valve game to run, because they use dynamic linking when launching instead of linking their binary at compile time.
Their shell script launchers (WTF Valve?) have lines in them for systems that have SIP enabled but their workaround seems to do diddly-squat.
Here’s how to disable SIP: http://osxdaily.com/2015/10/05/disable-rootless-system-integrity-protection-mac-os-x/
> all data appear to indicate that card packs fall under the lootbox category.
Please see the following:
https://kotaku.com/esrb-says-it-doesnt-see-loot-boxes-as-gambling-1819363091
“ESRB does not consider loot boxes to be gambling,” said an ESRB spokesperson in an e-mail to Kotaku. While there’s an element of chance in these mechanics, the player is always guaranteed to receive in-game content (even if the player unfortunately receives something they don’t want). We think of it as a similar principle to collectible card games: Sometimes you’ll open a pack and get a brand new holographic card you’ve had your eye on for a while. But other times you’ll end up with a pack of cards you already have.”
There has been deliberation on change regarding Star Wars BF2 and their lootboxes, but legal authority in the USA, for example, has already ruled on this notion contrary to what you are claiming. No offense to the Dutch, but they are a small fish in a huge pond...
Do you think that valve still the same company as it used to be? I mean their latest game before Artifact was CS:GO and it has been like 7 years. Also, Valve has a lot of things happening right now with Epic games launching their own stores and Ubisoft already moving away from steam. Is this the beginning of a decline for Valve as a whole not only artifact?. I know I overreacted but I think this is worthy of a discussion.
Not sure how not wanting to accept freaks of nature has anything to do with being a Fascist. Perhaps you should learn the definition before name calling. If you have abhorrently low standards of the Human Being that's your problem really, stay triggered!
> is like saying that chess had no updates in the past thousand years
That would actually be a wrong statement. It had in fact got many updates over the centuries. And the article does't even mention en passant and castling, queens and bishop ranges and so on.
https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/history-of-chess-rules
Hmm I looked at the code and it looks like that is the biggest difference is that the one you linked has the steam market tax included. It makes sense for looking to build a collection to not include that I suppose.
For what you are looking at, the steam tax is very important assuming you are looking to sell all cards to acquire more tickets. As others have mentioned that there should be a .05 minimum value for any card, since you can turn 20 into a ticket.
I took that one you are using and added a .05 minimum card value to it, to more accurately calculate EV. It came out to $1.08, I also fixed the calculation a bit, I don't think the sell price / 1.15 is correct, it should be sell price * .85 to account for the steam tax.

Thanks for putting this tool together, it's very useful. I think your pack EV algorithm might be spitting out a number that's too high by the way. If pack EV is 1.30 and a complete collection is $145.58, you should be able to get a complete collection with about 111 packs, but the number for a complete collection is more like 160.
Here's the algorithm I've been using for pack EV: https://repl.it/@vadash/ArtifactPackEV
https://repl.it/@vadash/KindheartedBrownKeyboardmapping
[ 11-30 22:46 ] - average common - 0.0501, uncommon - 0.142, rare - 1.6, TOTAL - 279.18 $
Pretty good for a playset of every card vs buying enough packs to do the same.
There's a bunch of these repls floating around.
Here's another one that show's expected value of a pack with the 1.17 rare per pack.
EV is around $3 while the total cost is floating around $311.
EV is expected value, and when it's higher than the cost of a pack by any significant margin it can be said to be more valuable (on average) to buy packs than individual cards.
How the monetization works: Pay $20 to get the game and 10 booster packs. Then if you want to get more cards, you have to pay to buy more booster packs. You can then play casual mode, and if you want competitive modes you have to pay for tickets.

GabeN once said in an interview that they actually had a version of Dota 2 running on mobile. This could mean that the engine is very scalable and it could be used to bring Artifact to mobile devices. That would be one of Unity's advantages that S2 would also cover.

ooh nice! I gotta look into resources on how to use it for animation some time. the english version goes on sale pretty often on their site: https://www.clipstudio.net/en
I got it for 25$ last month! hope you end up creating some neat stuff too :D
Since there's few cases I just added them all, and let x be the probability of winning to see it as a function EV(x).
~~strikethrough~~ My results are considerably worse than yours: https://www.geogebra.org/classic/xe4yq88y
~~strikethrough~~ Around 70% win chance for + EV. And that is with EV for a pack at 1.7, which I think is overly optimistic.
Edit: Forgot to account for different paths, think it's correct now. 0.53 for pack EV of 1.7.

Sure you can, and people do buy them. Here's one for 43 USD: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mages.chaoschild_jp&hl=en
Probably not the best plan, but it can work (I think FFXV is over 20 USD, but not initially).
Bigger question is the game play style, with matches going 15-20 minutes that's a bit long (for most mobile games). Also the 3 lanes and constant camera movement, not sure how that would go over on a phone. Tablet maybe, but phone...
Hi, would this tablet run artifact in it? (lets say I installed it in a SD card) cos it only has 32 gb storage

> 100 dollar is considered a budget deck in paper Magic, which is running for 25 years now, and the packs are roughly 5$ each.
You're off by almost a factor of two on pack prices. A 36 booster box of the latest set costs $98, which is about $2.72 per pack.
