Relay for Reddit (/r/relayforreddit/) is absolutely the best Reddit app. I don't even know how there's a discussion about this.
edit: Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
There is also a free version with Ads: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=free.reddit.news&hl=en
Relay for Reddit.
I feel that the UI is more appealing and the UX is easy.
LinkMe: Relay for reddit (Pro)
Edit: Alright. The bot didn't help that much for the Pro version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
There's a free version with ads if you want to try it out first.
You can buy PRO version for ad-free expirience:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
(When I bought it, Relay only had a small ad banner at the bottom. But yeah, since then I saw a lot of people here complaining, that ads are getting pretty annoying.)
Please go through recent posts. This has been discussed at length.
For signing in Reddit has changed something at their end. The current solution is to login via browser and enable 2FA. Once you do you can then disable it. You should be able to login post that.
u/dbrady is yet to tell us what's happening with the Pro version. You can find it in the 'manage apps' section under the not installed apps menu.
Did something about the method to remove ads change? I had to buy a separate app 'Relay Pro' and install that, as apposed to the free version, to have an ad free experience.
You're going to get all kinds of fans vouching for all kinds of apps. The only way you could decide for sure is to try them all out yourself.
I personally love Relay for Reddit because it's minimalistic (it doesn't clutter the screen with a hundred customization options), fully supports gesture navigations, has in-app media players and HTML reader which also supports reader-mode, has neat and easily accessible format options when writing text, and it has simple yet fun animations. The main drawback is that it doesn't offer a lot in terms of themes and customization
Edit: in fact, I love Relay so much that i almost never go on Reddit on my PC or web browser. Nearly all my Reddit activity is channeled through the app.
I've been using Relay for a long time. Are there any compelling reasons to switch? I use Relay on my phone, not a tablet so that's the only use case I care about.
RelayForReddit (Pro) is my main Reddit Client, but I've recently started using Joey For Reddit due to its superb /r/AMA layout.
Don't think you will find anything better then Relay for reddit. There is both a free, and Pro version. It seriously is one of the best apps out there.
I wouldn't bet my hopes on that app having any kind of support from devs or users. The website the app posted is dead, which probably means their support email won't work, and the developer's website itself looks to be some sort of design/developer agency, which would probably not be able to help. Given the terrible user reviews, I doubt there are any users dedicated to creating a support channel for this app. My best advice for you is to move on and download other Reddit apps on the Play Store; Relay seems to be a popular one.
Same. The design and functionality is great and the option to default to collapsed comments is 👌🏽
Here to shill the no IAP version.
Play store link : Relay for reddit
Promo Video : Relay
Okay, it looks like the app doesn't remember that it has been purchased (at all).
Can you please search the options for an option that says "restore purchase" or something like that?
If that doesn't work, can you please check via this play store link that you haven't bought pro and just accidentially installed the free version?
I use Relay Pro. It's excellent. There's also a free version if you want to try it before you buy it. It's a very well-made, material design, customizable Reddit client. And it's fast and reliable.
I believe you can access the app at this link, though only if you've already purchased the app. Make sure you're signed in with the same account you purchased it with.
It's not removed, I bought the app and can still find it in my installed section of playstore. The link changes from "free dot reddit dot news" to "reddit dot news".
If you go on the remove ads I remember it used to redirect you to Relay Pro - I'm not sure. I downloaded the free app rn and I got no ads (weird?) will see to that later.
Yes the pro version has no ads whatsoever. Anyways the ads were so unintrusive that I don't think they'd cause any issues
You're doing yourself a disservice, there are some very good apps out there that provide a far better UX for mobile than anything made by Reddit. I use Relay.
I prefer Relay For Reddit Pro. I have the pro versions of other Reddit apps too but for the past year or two Relay For Reddit has been my favourite.
I wouldn't really consider it a loss. Does the official Reddit app have themes and/or an OLED mode? Or all of the features Relay For Reddit has?
are you sure you installed this version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en_GB
and not this one?: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=free.reddit.news&hl=en_GB
Are you sure you downloaded it using the same Google account that you purchased it with?
Did you by chance purchase the separate Relay for Reddit Pro version and download the free version which has the in-app upgrade option instead?
Another vote for Relay. It used to be called Reddit News. /u/dbrady is the dev and he's quite active here on Reddit. Very quick to reply to emails and messages about bugs or issues. Hands down the best Reddit app I've ever used. There's a sub for it also... /r/RelayForReddit
>I dont think theres different apks on the playstore
There's a pro version and a free version. Mine (Pro) updated automatically, so I didn't have to accept new permissions.
It does look like the free version has more permissions that the pro version:
Free:
Pro:
Get Apollo if you’re on an iPhone. Relay if on Android. Worth every penny for either of them.
https://itunes.apple.com/app/id979274575
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en_US&gl=US
Don't know if it exists on iphones, but I've always used the app Relay for reddit. It's all I've ever known. One of the few apps that are worth buying imo. They have a free version too.
I've been using Relay for Reddit (Pro) since long before Reddit even had an official app, and it has always been wonderful for me.
I have literally no complaints about it, and they still regularly add features that I didn't even know I needed or wanted.
MKBHD (youtuber) got me to try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Je betaald wel wat (hoe on-nederlands ook) maar dan heb je wel een hele fijne app als je reddit veel gebruikt.
>Last time I was on the Play store about 2 months ago, Relay pro for Reddit was there but looks like it's gone now. It's still in my library though since I bought it over 6 years ago.
I can see it on Google Play, but I also bought it a few years ago:
Here's the link to the unlisted app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Although you shouldn't have to resort to this... Pro users should either have normally listed app or get transferred to regular Relay with ads removed.
I don't remember the last time I saw an ad.
Use Adblock on PC
If you have a Samsung phone you get free youtube premium (no ads)
Use plex to watch TV
Use a reddit app with no ads like relay pro
Delete Facebook its mind poison
I use relay pro and I really like it. It is a very polished app. I just tried out joey for reddit for the first time today and it is nothing to scoff at either. If I had to choose though, relay is my favorite.
Relay pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Joey for reddit https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=o.o.joey
Note: Issue started after a factory reset.
Not present on the latest Pro version.
Relay Version: 10.0.120 Pro
Definitely could be an accidental addition to the free version. Just deny the permission :)
Alternatively, you could buy Relay Pro version from Google Play Store
Relay Pro is adfree Reddit, been out since before Reddit had an official app and I still prefer it
They also have a free ad version you can try
Yeah I agree with iGermanProd - I think you're pretty much out of luck.
However, there are plenty of good Android reddit apps, too. Have you checked out Relay Pro? It was my personal favorite when I was on Android.
/u/creesch - November 20, 2014 at 06:48:04 AM
reddit news basically has a lot of essential mod features since the latest version. It does queues, modmail, reports reasons, banning from a comment, etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
See the orange button on the first screenshot?
You hit that and anything you've read will be hidden. But you have to hit it again the next time you want to hide read posts.
Relay Pro works properly on everything from phone, tablet, SBCs, etc.

Relay's got a great UI, color coded comment threads, links and comments load at same time with just a swipe to switch between them (one of my favorite things), and a nice "hide read posts" button. There's also nice themes and bandwidth saving options.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
I recommend Pro but the free version is solid too.
Yes sir! Kasi I accidently tapped the comments on my profile dito sa Reddit App ko sa phone, which is Relay Pro tapos nagtaka ako bigla bakit merong cake sa tabi ng username ko sobrang tanga pakinggan
It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!
Here is link number 1 - Previous text "Pro"
^Please ^PM ^/u/eganwall ^with ^issues ^or ^feedback! ^| ^Delete
I'm sure they will be disagreement on this, but I'm going to suggest my favorite reddit app Relay for reddit Pro there is a free version if you want to check it out.
I have also bought Nova Launcher prime and Tasker, which I use all the time on my phone.
Gør som andre udviklere, tilbyd en gratis version med in-app purchases og en betalt version hvor al funktionalitet er unlocked fra starten. Relay for reddit er et eksempel på denne praksis.
See, there's your problem: you installed the free version, where you can pay to remove the ads. What you bought earlier was the pro version, which essentially does the same, but must be installed separately. Just get it from here (you must be logged in with the same Google account as when you bought it initially) and you should be fine.
Since the begin of the year, I use the Relay for Reddit and I'm enjoying it. A few days ago, I tried the Slide because I saw in this subreddit some people talking about Slide and also because I liked the design and the integration with Soundcloud. But one thing that I didn't like was in the images there wasn't Shadowbox layout, and because that I didn't keep the Slide.
But now, with this function I will try again.
Please continue with the good work you have done.
Relay for reddit Pro is my favourite. There is also a free version with ads.
If you have an Android phone, you can. One should inform him of other options. Settings menu in Relay for Reddit.
> Hope there is a paid version to get rid of ads
There is. There's a Pro version that you can buy. The free version also offers a one-time in-app purchase to remove the ads at the same price (in case you don't want the hassle of uninstalling the free and installing the pro).
Relay for Reddit android only
Relay For Reddit app (Android) has download and share features for this.
Relay for Reddit - best of it's kind.
I don't buy much but here's what I have for Android apps:
> >
I like Relay
I use Reddit News Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news) and it´s the best I have tried so far.
It's still there, just hidden from searches: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
My app had the translated subtitles on by default. I didn't realize that it wasn't part of the video until I saw the comments. I'm using Relay for reddit (Pro) . It was the best free reddit app I tried out of 4 or 5 including Sync for reddit which was also pretty good, and the official reddit app which I feel no one should use for any reason.
I can't speak for the other 2, but I can say for sure that Relay has subtitles on this video.
As someone that uses an iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL (the Pixel is my daily driver, but I like having the best of the other side of the coin), I really don't know what you're talking about when you say Reddit apps on Android suck compared to iOS.
I don't want to start an app war here (as tends to happen when Reddit apps are brought up in threads), but Android Reddit apps are just as good, if not better than iOS Reddit apps.
I'll say this...you mention specifically Reddit is Fun and Alien Blue. I know AB used to be the standard by which all other iOS Reddit apps were measured, but I believe they've stopped development on it. Both of those apps look like they were designed for the iPhone 4 and then forgotten about. My point being, you're not coming from a place of using the best Reddit apps iOS has to offer.
The one you'll see mentioned most right now on iOS is Apollo. While I do like it, it still needs some work. I was a longtime BaconReader user, but it lacks some features that other apps have standard (specifically, being able to post images straight from the app). I used BaconReader for years on Android and iOS, but eventually had to seek out another, better app. For me, Apollo is the one on iOS right now.
My choice for Android now is Relay for Reddit Pro. It has the "swipe to go back" feature among a myriad of other great features. One thing it doesn't have is auto night mode, but I'm hoping that comes eventually.
You could also try Boost, Joey for Reddit, Sync for Reddit, etc. Boost does have the auto night mode.
The best way to find one you like on Android is to simply install them and give them a try. People will say this one or that one is the best, but it's a personal preference.
O relay pro pra mim é 10/10!
Relay Pro no android! 10/10 vale cada centavo
Relay Pro is the best IMO.
I have tried both Joey and Relay Pro. I keep coming back to Relay Pro.
Try this among others https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
This is great, I was looking for something like this after trying Relay for reddit (Pro).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Don't buy the upgrade in the app.
Relay for Reddit pro. It's $2.99.
Also, /r/RelayForReddit
You are not impressed with Relay for Reddit? What would impress you?
Does it say that this is installed? If not, you got it through an IAP. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
I'm asking because it might be a glitch with the IAP version
It is unlisted. If you previously purchased it, you can reinstall it from here:
I mean Relay
I rather like Relay for Reddit
I've never had a problem with single photo albums. In what situation is it a problem?
Edit: Not sure why I'm getting downvoted. I genuinely don't see a problem. I use Relay for Reddit on my phone and a combination of RES and Imagus on my PC. I either tap or hover my mouse over an Imagur link and even if it's an album with one photo I just see the image (of it's an album with multiple photos I can swipe through them or scroll through them with my mouse wheel).
I just really don't see why it's a problem which is why I asked. I was curious to know what other people experienced.
Relay for Reddit: la mamá de todas las apps de Reddit en Android.
Relay Pro with Night (OLED) Theme.
Are you using the pro version?
Relay for Reddit (Pro)
Relay Pro is god tier. I just need to find a way to install it on Windows 10.
Its better to just buy the thing and never see those stupid ads, for me it was at least.
This is the Pro version https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
It is not tied to the phone. Make sure that you aren't using the free version.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
I do! User Name Mentions + Relay for reddit = spam!
I use Relay for Reddit!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
It's still there, it just doesn't show up in listings for some reason.
Since you are on Reddit, might I suggest Relay Pro for Reddit?
Oh. Showed up fine on mine, Relay Pro (for Android).
What phone do you have? If you're running Android, use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Been using Relay since 2011. Worth the cost.
Uninstall and reinstall. Looks like you have the free version?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=fi
That is the link for the pro one.
IDK if it's on the apple app store, but here is the play store link.
Have you ever used Relay for Reddit?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
>* Reddit-Client: Relay Pro
Kann ich auch nur empfehlen
I use Relay so I couldn't care less. I am definitely not a fan of the mobile website, though.
Relay was originally Reddit News, not Reddit Relay. It's still in the Play Store link.
You can buy it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en
There is. #relaymasterrace
Ads reflect your browsing habits.
If you use Android, I highly recommend Relay for Reddit Pro
You've already gotten some great suggestions. Here are my top can't-live-without apps that weren't mentioned yet.
Reddit: Relay Pro
Twitter: Fenix
Sharing/syncing txt/etc much better than pushbullet IMO: Join
Current favorite icon pack (saw someone mention icons): Materialistik
List keeping/sharing: Our Groceries
Podcasts: Pocket Casts
Phone finder + more: Where's my Droid
Wallpaper: Tapet
Weather widget: Weather & Clock Widget
Reddit: Relay
Gallery: QuickPic
Shopping: OurGroceries - This thing is amazing for list sharing with my wife.
S-Note: Squid - Action memo in the note 3 was awesome. Ever since they blended it with S-Note it's been terrible.
Relay for Reddit (free version available) is a wonderful Android app for browsing Reddit. Formerly known as "Reddit News".
It is compatible with PonyMotes, another Android app, which is used for downloading and browsing the BPM ponymote library on the phone.

Are you using the "pro" version?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
The free version has ads on it
I think you have to go download Relay Pro from the store, not just Relay. Try this link...
Aveti un moment sa discutam despre our lord and saviour Relay Pro?
J'utilise Relay for reddit (Pro) depuis des années, ça fait la job pas mal aussi bien que le bon vieux reddit.
You probably bought the pro version and not the ad unlock version.
Pro was unlisted and you need to install via this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
This happened to me. Here is the link to the one you need.
Or just pay the amount of a coffee and buy the pro version haha
Non-Games:

Or you can install a non-shitty reddit client
Yeah, I tried with Relay Pro and that didn't work either :/
It's still showing up for me, but there used to be a free version which I can't find any more.
Best by far I've tried Relay Pro
You should try Relay pro for reddit
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news&hl=en_US
if you are the person who use to download lot of stufs for that IDM plus will be best

Relay for Reddit pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
So it doesnt show that you bought pro when u click this link or you cant find the app at all?
Relay Pro is really good.
Here is a link to the play store for Relay Pro. If you need to buy it you probably used the in-app purchase of the free version.
/u/creesch - November 20, 2014 at 06:47:05 AM
Heh look it is basically the latest version of reddit news.
Is there an annual fee? It's a one time buy for $3 on the Play Store.
Já testei, e continuo testando vários, mas sempre acabo voltado para o relay pro
C'est une très bonne app qui vaut son prix.
Get a better app, perhaps? Which one are you using?
I recommend:
The upfront paid app is called Pro
relay pro, my friend.
Relay Pro is where it's at. Screw the official app. It sucks.
Relay for Reddit (Pro) I don't remember what it costs, but it is worth it IMO. There's also a free version.
Note: I make every effort to programatically figure out if links originally posted to Reddit are still good, but it's difficult.
If the original URL doesn't work, or has been replaced with something else, please help out by searching the Wayback Machine for the URL and posting a contemporary link if you find one. There's also a Chrome Extension which makes this process easy.
I strongly recommend Relay for Reddit (Pro).
Most popular reddit apps seem to be between Relay, Sync, and Boost, but there are more. You can buy each one, try them out, and get refunds on the ones you didn't like as much.
Isn't that the old name of the Relay app? The url for Relay still lists the old name. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
Play Store links:
Relay has been my favorite app for years!
Well obviously it's pretty subjective, but here are some of my favourites:
Relay, Nova Launcher and Bike Race.
Relay is my favourite Reddit app. I've tried lots of Reddit apps, but always find myself coming back to Relay.
Nova Launcher is great. For the last 6ish months I've been using Google Now launcher, but Nova Launcher has a lot of useful features, and it all feels very polished and "clean".
I don't like gaming on mobile, and Bike Race is the only game I've thoroughly enjoyed playing. While the game is very simple in mechanics, it doesn't feel like a dumbed down version of a computer game, which I feel like most mobile games are.
It's an app in the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=reddit.news
No love for Relay for Reddit Pro?
haven't used sync for reddit in quite some time, but if you're shopping alternatives, relay for reddit is also quite good.
