This was actually present in the dev stream build on Monday. It was a highlight around the aiming crosshair that swoops around and "connects" at the top when sprint triggers. If you watch the YouTube VOD you should be able to see it.

They also re-added the timers for blue/red/black and changes the visuals for card and hero levelups

With Beta meaning feature complete, you can see how this would mislead consumers into thinking they're buying into a game that is in bug-fixing and infrastructure testing phases.

Epic was dishonest with what their product was. That's why so many people are salty.

I came back late game but not enough for us to win. We were all shut down pretty much. This goes to show how important early game is against ANY ADC, not just Murdock.

In some of my games I need to run "DS4Windows" in the background. It's just a tiny program. It helps some games to understand that there's a dualshock plugged in.

This shit is disgraceful but the number of people opposed to it is a drop in the ocean compared to the number of people who only want their fanservice. It's not going away. I'm not a SJW, I love me some fine pixel booty, believe it, but I also love monsters and robots (especially monsters vs robots!) and you just get exhausted with the lack of diversity, lack of imagination. But there's nothing you can do but make an effort to create more interesting and varied characters in your own, personal creative works.

Like you mentioned though, "their roadmap is a secret." They can't do the same thing they're doing with UE4 for Paragon - different customer's and monetization model's. You can even make a comparison with Unreal Tournament's target market and development model. It seems to have fizzled out (but could have destroyed Quake Champions which is as optimized as well our Paragon builds). We're the UE4's tech demo testers. UT was one experiment with community involvement, Paragon highlights the capabilities of the engine and is building f2p data for Epic, and FN seems like it may have hit the sweet spot for Epic. It's not like they needed money from game development with the engine royalties - and sadly also makes the games' success less important. We don't have a more comprehensive roadmap for Paragon because internally they've decided it's better like this.

A lot of dev teams use Trello for this kind of thing.

I'd like to see Epic use it, but I'm sure they have their own in-house solution and like to keep their roadmap a secret.

Publishers and some developers go where the money and most players are. While Epic Games is a very big company, they are free to shift their developers on a project that they know they'll profit from in the future.

While I was terrified that Paragon and Fortnite PVE (both games I play) are getting neglected because of the popularity of Fortnite BR, half of me is happy because Fortnite BR helps the improvement of the of Unreal Engine 4 which game engine I develop for my own game.

But I believe Paragon will prove itself. Now that it is being "orientalized" for Chinese players (no sarcasm intended, Tencent owns "nearly half" of Epic Games"). There is a big potential for Paragon's improvement that will cater to a lot of Chinese players first. Right now, Paragon is suffering from the dwindling down of active players due to its recent changes. And one key to its survival is to bring more active players which for now by catering it to Chinese players.

As to the point of the mentioned content creator by OP, as a gamer and game dev, I know where he is coming from. He shares the same feelings I had when FortniteBR was announced months ago. If you play Fortnite PVE, you'll probably feel the same way as he is. Just a fact for you guys, for the last 3 months, FortniteBR had more significant changes than FortnitePVE. I felt sad. Though I understand the situation of FortnitePVE and FortniteBR.

A program like GPU-Z will tell you which your primary enabled graphics card is. There's a portable version available so you don't have to install it just to check. You should be able to disable the onboard graphics through the BIOS. You can easily tell if your external GPU is being used if you hear its fans ramp up or it's warm directly behind the case where it's installed after gaming for a bit.

Maybe the answer to all our problems lies within the game that has been the bane to paragons existence.

I would like to single out a specific paragraph for a TL;DR version of the article.

Because UE4 uses the previous frame to render the next AFR cannot be done. But because PFR is so good at what it does we can have almost realistic style of Paragon and crank up the fps 200+(rest in NDA). Switching to AFR will in most cases be major performance loss for most of the community and only a small gain for the people who have multiple GPU's.

So it's not a poor decision. If anything it is a calculated decision with the pay off of having more devices able to run games built with UE4.

This quote is what it comes down to. By knowing yourself and the enemy, it applies to Paragon with regards to a player's situation, especially health and mana. A beginner moves forward a bit in lane, gets hit by an enemy's ability and gets scared of that ability and enemy and decides not to do it again. The result is that enemy has succesfully bullied him out of contention. If this keeps up, that player will fall behind and will be pushed around by more and more enemies. A good player, on the other hand, notices that the enemy's been throwing an awful lot of abilities in lane, that he's got to be out of, or close to out of mana, and knows it's safe to move up. He's aware of how much damage he and the enemy can do and how much health they have, so he knows when he can win a fight. There's few things more disheartening than seeing a teammate turning back and get killed in a fight that they would have won had they kept at it.

Another good example is an offlaner getting his ult. Unless he's been playing recklessly and hasn't been managing his mana and health, the moment he gets it he has an advantage. If he doesn't use that advantage, it will quickly disappear. A beginner will not think about his enemy's situation, he will assume that the enemy has something as punishing as his ult. Which he doesn't.

Hahaha, this is so great because literally the most previous book I've read before this re-read of "The Art of War" is "Book of Sith" by Daniel Wallace. Which is also definitely worth a read. The jump from 600 to 800 is a lot, you get a lot more for your money. You'd get better frame rates, less lag and it last you a couple of years.

Well with Paragon it works natively. I can't say that I've tried it out with many non-steam games, but so far it's worked fine with Steam. You can remap it and do whatever you want with it (haven't personally done that yet). If you want you can even get a wireless adapter for the DS4, that way you don've have to stay plugged in.

I use a Razer Naga. Runs about $70 and makes gaming ridiculously easier.

1. The Steam Controller is garbage. One of the worst controllers I've ever seen, let alone used. Sure it allows for easy couch gaming for strategy games and actual PC navigation, but it is completely wasted for action games. I recommend buying a simple wireless keyboard and mousepad for easy PC navigation from the couch. For playing Paragon, you can get a USB dongle that allows you to use your PS4 controller on PC, so I'd recommend that if it's what you're uaed to.

2. PC games often have their prices reduced much faster then console games, and some start out lower too (Overwatch was $40 compared to console's $60). I know I don't preorder unless I absolutely want the game and the stupid bonus I'd get from preordering, but I'm not you. You can preorder if you want. You cn buy games on launch day. Or you can wait 2 years til the game is $4.99 on Steam. You can do whatever you want with your money. One thing I don't recommend though is buying disks, because that means that now you have to add a disk drive to your PC build... And that's just pointless.

3. I'd avoid buying a prebuilt gaming computer, especially a prebuilt "gaming" laptop. Instead, build one yourself. It will take more work to build one yourself, but it will take more money to buy one pre-built.

No, it's not. Warding costs mental effort. You have to be watching the minimap to see where you have vision and where you lack it. You have to be cognizant of which towers are down, how far the minion waves are extended, whether your jungler is on your side of the map, and when the enemy jungler was most recently seen.

You think that every decision every player makes in game is perfectly rational considering the information they have available. This is a mistake. People forget things that they know all the time, especially when they're dealing with nine other people, tracking buff timers, and trying to get last hits. Players who don't habitually think about vision need to be trained to think about vision. It's not an on/off switch based on whether or not they "decide" to ward this game.

Please read Nudge. It's a great book.

For me personally a wireless keyboard is far superior to a USB. It depends on how you game, though.

I use this $14 amazon prime one and am very happy with it. It's small but not too small to type comfortably on. It's so light that it sits on your lap and you forget about it till you go to use it. It requires two AA batteries but I've used it for about a month without having to replace them. And I play a lot of paragon.

Seems to maintain most of my temps at a decent level. Typically GPU peaks at 77c - it's 30 degree+ weather here though and I don't have AC.

This controller keyboard has a potential of working, but curious if the enter button would still open up chat.

Regardless, this is the first online multiplayer game I've ever played that doesn't have voice chat built in, yet requires more teamwork and communication to play than most other online games. Almost a must have really.
