Kind of annoying how vault posts are starting to link to imgur instead of the actual site
http://www.awesomenauts.com/Vault/index.html#Wildlife
edit: regardless, I for some reason take a liking to non-player announcers the most - maybe because it feels like I'm not augmenting my game to a specific character.
A major overhaul of the leaderboard/league system.
Right now the leaderboards is just a lifetime rating for each player. While this is decent for ranking each player against everyone else, it makes for a pretty boring progression, and it makes maintaining your rank just a grind that discourages diversification instead of fun. We could use an overhaul that allows us to have seasons and season resets again.

"2017 is going to be huge! We have a ton of Big Things (tm) in development for 2017. We're not talking about that yet, but we expect 2017 is going to be the biggest year for Awesomenauts yet!"
From the patchnotes
>NEW Rejoin improvement -When rejoining a match the player will be forced to play with the same naut, loadout, bought items and amount of Solar. Plus a small Solar bonus depending on how long it took to get back in the game.
http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2440
This is being fixed in the beta. Essentially, a person who leaves a game and rejoins will be forced to pick the same character and loadout. Full explanation can be found here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/Vault/
>You invited me as a friend.
>>Then you invited me to that group that you created.
>>>Then you kicked me.
>>>>Then you unfriended me.
14-1-2015
Edit: Fixed year (although forum post also says 2014, so technically we got the patch a year ago)
I did some Nauts/Borderlands 2 crossovers! Digital lineart is pretty new to me but I wanted to try it. If you prefer my other stuff don't worry; I will resume painting 'Cinematic shot of ... looking cool' shortly. However I might also do more of these, particularly if people like them.
Give me suggestions for other crossovers if you have a good idea, so far I've got 'Foxxi' (Mad Moxxi Penny) and Zero Leon. I think they differ in quality as I got better at lineart whilst drawing them; Coco is probably the best as it was the last one I did.
Something's definitely messed up with the matchmaking at the moment.
I (1600 hours played) have gotten matched up with people less than <10 hours quite frequently lately, and players in lower leagues than what I should get paired with, in the middle of the day nonetheless.
Yesterday I had a Voltar in my team with 1.6 (!!) hours played. So something's fishy.
Here's som extra input from people encountering the same thing.
Max Focus is a new character who is being added to Overdrive in Update 3.4 in December. Max Focus went in open beta yesterday, so you can try him right away if you like. :) He's free during beta so you don't need Overdrive to try him during beta. Here's how to get the beta: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=22487
For anyone that doesn't know, it's quite easy to swap in some custom music (how-to here, ty Cuttlefish).
You can always just mute the music and play whatever you want, but if you only want to switch out a couple songs or like being rewarded with the spree music (custom or otherwise), it's worth the trouble of converting stuff to ogg (the file type for all sound in 'nauts).
There was a forum post about Starstorm naut #5 carrying a sword, which is the same sword that appears lodged in one of the creatures in 205.
The gamefile name was censored and they're referring to him as "Sward" right now I think.
edit: Found the post.
>Sliding bug is now completely fixed
I'll believe it when I see it (or don't see it, as it were). Very cool if this proves out.
Excited to try the new drone targeting for Voltar when I get home. If this makes it easier to shoot people while running away, or to shoot someone without having to stand on their face then it could be game changing.
Voltar's nerf:
Heal Wave | Bot Heal | Naut Heal |
---|---|---|
Current | 2 to 10 | 5 to 13 |
2.2 Beta 3 | 1 to 6 | 4 to 9 |
That's a huge healing nerf. Happy/Euphoric Thoughts will be more important than ever.
Also, this may be a silly question, but is Solar in Awesomenauts kept as decimal behind the scenes? So if I get 25% of a 9hp heal, do I actually get 2.25 solar, or does it round down to 2? Also, if health is kept in decimal, does that mean Voltar is really healing something like 9.3hp and just getting rounded?
Particularily this part:
>Verbal abuse The same goes for reporting people who type extreme vulgarities or verbal abuse in the chat (racism, sex, illnesses, etc.). We will ban repeated offenders from public matchmaking. Please only report verbal abuse in the extremest of cases, though!
Kickstarter Goals have been met for the level editor, as displayed on this page.
I'm afraid things have taken a turn for the worse. I seriously hope this game returns to its former civilized status.
I'd say 2.9 VinAI is about done. Don't expect it to go positive against a premade, but it's definitely not the worst bot anymore.
Woo, it's released. http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=36669&p=493963#p493963
A demake would actually be really awesome! :D
We have already posted officially about the legal rights for this kind of thing and fan-games like this are possible within certain limitations. Have a look here for a short post with specifics: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22402
As for how to make this: Gamemaker is excellent for this. Implementing online multiplayer is too hard and too much work for a project like this, and doing something simpler in 2D is perfect for Gamemaker. Some people think Gamemaker is "not the real thing" or something like that, but that is actually totally unjustified: Gamemaker was used for several awesome games, including the Roflnauts easter egg that comes with Awesomenauts! And of course big hits like Super Crate Box and Hotline Miami.
So I really suggest using Gamemaker, it is a perfect fit for this kind of thing. :)
A new teaser's featured in the vault too!
To no one's surprise, 2.11 will launch with a Ninja themed skin for Rocco!
Big question though, is what could the teaser be hinting at?
You receive solar based each time you heal someone. Buying that upgrade increases that solar by 10%. Basically, you receive 15% of each heal in solar, and Dreams of Greed increases it to 25%
Stream will be on my twitch channel: twitch.tv/Kalazor!!
More exclamation marks!!!!!
We're working on the issues that have been reported and will be releasing an update to address them as soon as possible. Please report issues you encounter on the forums, so we can be sure to process them: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
Yeah, On the nauts list, there are 3 sections which nauts go into. These could be the boundary between f2p and p2p, the f2p's getting the normal group and the p2p's getting the normal and the advanced group.
This patch prevents mac users from playing. The game will not start at all. I have verified the cache.
*Edit- This patch prevents me from playing and other mac users have reported similar issues, apparently some mac users can play.
*Edit 2- This workaround worked for me
> Ayla
> These changes are intended to make Ayla’s playstyle more active and more interesting. These changes are not intended to be a nerf or a buff, just to make her play differently.
> -Chain whack now has 20% lifesteal on base
> -Chain whack range increased from 2.5 to 2.6
> -Hungry Zurian lifesteal reduced from 30% to 20%
> -Rage damage increased from 60 to 70 per hit
> -Rage now deals 10% of total max health as damage per second to self instead of a flat amount of 64 damage per second to self
> -Rage now deals a flat amount of lifesteal instead of a percentage of the damage (15 lifesteal instead of 33.3%)
> -Angry drawings no longer adds additional self damage
> -Fiery jawbreakers: removed increase in self damage
> -Rubberband ball’s effect replaced and will now let Ayla leave a blood trail, which she can pick up after rage has ended, healing her for 20 per stage and increasing her movement speed (3 stages 135 per stage)
> -Blue three-wheeler’s effect replaced and will now reduce selfdamage by 1.5% hps per stage (2 stages 155 Solar per stage)
Here is a link to the thread if you're interested.
I got this idea, and thought I would create it. I need feedback to make it more fun, and perhaps create more challenges.
Thank you everyone for the feedback!
If you still have feedback, do write a comment!
Maybe you can check out the Tournaments subforum, there are always some fan-organized tournaments.
For example there is a 1vs1 competition going on right now with little coverage, it would be fun if you could create a hype video for it!
Always nice to see more community activity.
Thanks for bringing this up. Just a few heads-up.
Bugs can be officially reported here (found in the side banner). http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2223
Additionally, this is a known issue. I have no idea if it is intended to be fixed or left in (I don't know if Ronimo has said anything about it or not).
Try more characters! I know at first some characters can seem intimidating, but just give them some time and you may find a new main. Lonestar is a great character, but just playing one character can get old fast. League 4 shouldn't be a bad league, however this game has a... very poor ranking system... and you may be in a higher or lower league than you should be, which could be sapping some of the fun (there's not much of a fix for this, you may just need to fight through it). If possible try to get more friends in on it! I have 2 buddies and running as a team on ladder can be really fun, alternatively you can get 5 buddies and have a full game (which is really awesome.) and if you're a little tight on friends there's always steam groups (I think I'm in about 3 Awesomenauts steam groups, and there's always a match to find and players to meet) or you can use the new world chat system in game (in the lower right on the main menu) I've not used that much yet, but you can probably find some games and players there, and don forget pressing the arrow on the box can change which chat you're in. There's a few useful chats there. Finally (Sorry I've been so long-winded) you can introduce yourself on the Awesomenauts forums here, not everyone on there is great, but the community is large enough, and nice enough, to make some new friends. Thank you if you actually read all that, didn't plan on writing an essay on it, but hey if it helps then I'm glad I spent the time on it.
I usually don't care enough to watch tournaments of Awesomenauts unless it's the Grand Finals and I haven't got anything better to do, but I'm actually kind of psyched for Solar Wars Cup.
I love the setup of the tournament, mixed up teams from the same region and having the ability to use substitutes for those hard games to even the odds, which puts another factor of strategy into play; who and when to use a certain substitute since they have very limited uses!
For those of you who haven't heard of it there's a link explaining the rules here.
And the current list of teams participating:
US teams
UK teams
EU teams
Personally I think that the UK is looking strongest of them all, a bunch of great teams/players as well as substitutes. I think this is probably going to be the most exciting tournament/cup as of yet, as long as it's handled correctly - they have the teams for it, let's just hope they have the staff for it as well!
Could you guys email about these issues? The stats page is in beta and we really want to investigate these kinds of things further to fix them. Please attach your logs as is described here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2223
We don't visit Reddit all that often, so please report bugs in the official forum here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
I did see these ones here now, but we might completely overlook important bugs if you don't post them where we see them.
Anyway, thanks for reporting, we'll look into these! :)
That's the same build I use except I take rabbit teeth instead of +damage on bite. The speedup boost is great for juking, harassing, and chasing. Gnaw already has the smallest hitbox I believe, so his brawling style consists of biting and jumping around wildly. Combined with this, rabbit teeth makes him nearly untouchable unless it's an AOE.
Weedling nests are effective in lower leagues but not so much in the upper leagues, but that doesn't mean they're only for pushing or map control. Here's a forum post on using the weedling as a ward to gain tactical advantage.
Some other spots to use weedlings to troll people: the narrow dropdown platforms so that fat nauts can't drop down because they're stuck (here's me doing that to a poor Clunk) and the enemy's creep area on Sorona and Aiguillon. Tips for Sorona: take the jump pad, place the weed while in the air right at the edge of their area, and jump carefully back to your side. The weedling on the enemy's side on any map will not only alert you on the minimap to a possible drop down ambush from the other team when you're pushing their turret, but also force the enemy team to spend couple seconds getting rid of your weed.
It's the last one on the Gnaw list:
-Overcharged Metabolism now adds a negative debuff to direct hit enemies where they take 10% more damage for 4s (+10% per stage, 160 Solar per stage) (at the moment only the damage receiver can see the extra damage, we will fix this in a future patch to show the damage to everyone)

Unfortunately, the original publishers of Awesomenauts on 360 and PC went out of business, and as such, Ronimo themselves don't have the rights to update the content on those platforms.
Fortunately, the PC version of Awesomenauts is currently on-sale on the Humble Store for only $4: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/awesomenauts_storefront
(Do note that the most recent two characters, and the three upcoming characters, are all part of the Awesomenauts: Starstorm DLC, sold separately.)
I guess this is expected. Matchmaking rounds are started when 150 players are found. Majority of those players will be newbee. And for minority - you can't create good matches with 15-30 players, who are from all possible "not newbee"-leagues.
http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=49810
-Rank-boosting friends:
You misunderstood it. The leaving person will always lose rank, since effectively he/she lost a match. All a friend can do is to allow you "free rage-quit" - what people can and do now all the time without friends. See more at http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=46553
-Premade vs SoloQ; How to draw the line?
I think the way to draw a line here is very easy. Latejoins are impossible and premades are clearly those and only those who had a party before pressing match search button.
-'Naut picking system:
Ronimo decided that there will not be for sure any transparant naut picking in the HMS patch. So even if they decide to try it in the future this will be a problem separate from the HMS.

Here's how to get the beta: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=22487
Note that betas these days are free for everyone, you don't need to purchase anything to play the beta (well except the base game of course).
One thing to note is that the teaser with music bars that was added to the vault yesterday is still in there. This ks theme wasn't related to that teaser.
The main reason is because of this thread. Butchers wants to make an announcer for the game, except that the community doesn't want to, bringing arguments that he's salty/toxic and calls people autists and retards on his stream. Arguments started to be posted and the thread turned into a 'advertising' method for butcher's stream to see if he is really salty. The thread got closed by the moderators because it was against forum's CoC.
The level editor is funded.
The kickstarter required that $495,000 be raised, and we've raised $524785. The only feature that hasn't been reached was the character settings editor (and the AI editor, but that was added anyways.)
Yes they are still working on the game, there was a big patch not 3 weeks ago that added Rocco and tons of new balance changes.
Ronimo is actually taking suggestions for what huge features the fanbase wants to see added to the game soon, and Awesomepoints is a huge contender for "most wanted". I feel like that covers your want for progression pretty well. Here's hoping they add it.
The Tactics subforum has a lot of the best competitive players lurking around. I suggest you go there if you want good builds and a healthy debate about your character's various playstyles.
This post has some pretty good advice for coming up with a build order yourself. If anyone doesn't agree with it, I suggest you recall that it was written by Bets.
There's no incentive for them to keep playing. In games like LoL people have the incentive of IP to get new champions and runes and such, which they won't get if they rage quit.
I'm not saying awesomenauys needs points to buy new nauts now, god no. But some type of point system maybe so people have incentive to not rq.
I always thought http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26921 was a good idea.
Due to a lot of players having full screen colourflashes we have had to revert patch 2.9.2. That means the game will automatically update back to 2.9.1.
Have a look here to see what a lot of people were experiencing: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=37801
We are investigating the issue right now, but on one in the office is having it so we cannot reproduce it. No idea yet what is causing this.
This is a singleplayer campaign I've been working on for quite a while. I hope you enjoy it.
It has been made with the AI editor, so it is far from perfect. But I've tried as best as I could with the limitations of the engine.
Also, to make sure we actually see your reports, be sure to post them in the official tech support subforum here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
Posting them elsewhere increases the chance that we happen to not see them.
It probably would help if you sent a replay file to the specific mod author.

Don't be kicking yourself too hard, the game wasn't really more popular when it came out, the first hype months had the same amount of players we had during the summer this year.
I'm glad you're back and having fun! Awesomenauts is still going strong with lots of features coming as part of the Kickstarter and the developers themselves said they see no end to producing new content yet. :)
Starstorm will probably be on sale during Christmas, it has been a few times already. :)
Rating change calculation is based on the rating of the players in the match, and how long players were in the match as a percentage of the entire duration of the match. No in-game stat or performance has any effect on the calculation, just the end result, i.e. a win or a loss.
An outline of how it works by one of the devs can be found here.
>-If you win you gain points, if you lose, you lose points.
However, that point seems to go against what you say for ranking improving after a loss.
On the official forums you can find their policy on Reporting cheaters, griefing and verbal abuse. Their stance depends on exactly how far the player went; but it seems repeated offenses are taken into account, so it's better to report if you're unsure.
The "Don't post: Accusations of "toxic behavior"" in the sidebar here relates more to public shaming/drama. The policy on the official forums is the same.
I had it happen a few times, just call them out on it. If they refuse to attack still, you can probably report them for griefing.
After that, your best bet is to either quit (and most likely give the enemy team a sense of accomplishment for their actions) or simply refuse to join the match (aka, wait in your base) and try to get your teammates to do the same.
I normally wouldn't promote standing in your base and doing nothing, but if the enemy team refuses to attack even though you can't do anything at all it's a different story.
From the Ronimo forum FAQ (http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2735):
What is the difference between High, Medium and Low graphics quality?
High is how the game is intended to be played. However, if your computer is a bit older, then you can switch to Medium or Low graphics quality. Here is what these change:
High: full graphics quality, everything looks best.
Medium: backgrounds are flattened and don't have any depth any more, and are less sharp.
Low: same as medium, but now textures are also half the resolution and there are no post effects (so no greyscale when you die and no colour effects when you are in stealth as Leon). Low graphics quality is our special compatibility mode for older videocards, like the Intel 960. These videocards don't support non-power-of-two textures and/or rendering to textures.
We have just updated the Starstorm Roadmap. You can find the new Roadmap here:
http://www.awesomenauts.com/Roadmap
As you can see, some things have been moved back to a later date than we had originally expected. This is mostly because development has so far been taking longer than hoped, even with the new people we have recently hired to speed things up. We prefer quality over speed, so if something takes longer to get right, then we would rather take longer than release something buggy.
Several batches of settings for Custom Games have been removed from the Roadmap, because those have already been released. Patches 1.24 and 2.1 were much larger than we had originally planned for them, so Custom Games settings are actually well ahead of our original plans already! Even more Custom Games options will be coming later this year.
In the new Roadmap the digital artbook is coming a lot later than we had originally announced. The reason for this is that we are still making a lot of cool art for Starstorm and would like to include that in the artbook.
Another reason why some things have been moved back is that we have some really cool other new features coming for Awesomenauts. We think some of those should get priority to make Awesomenauts as good as possible. Some Starstorm features are delayed a couple of months because of this, but we are sure you will like the other things we are working on for Awesomenauts just as much. We will reveal those as soon as we are ready to talk about them. So much awesomeness coming in 2014! " -Joost
Essentially we have Locally stored + Penny. Then in the next period of the year we got the new map and sentry along with custom game. The chats have been pushed back a good bit. But IMHO the global chats would be incredibly spamy like "I DETEST FROGGY"...
Definitely something to watch out for when doing a survey is who you survey as it can greatly skew the data.
Here is an example poll done for users of the /r/Android subreddit recently: https://www.strawpoll.me/16141294/r
It shows 65% of visitors to this subreddit are on the latest released version of Android. Compare that to Google's total numbers (https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/) where only around 12% of people are on Android 8.
However, I think it would be a fair assumption for Awesomenauts to say that a majority of the community is made up of enthusiasts/veterans. Compared to users of Android where there would magnitudes more non-enthusiasts.
Patch 3.0 will contain all three characters of the Overdrive DLC (Professor Yoolip, Chucho Krokk and Jimmy And The Lux5000). The first beta is only Yoolip, the other characters will come in January/February. The final launch of patch 3.0 will be in March. The beta is free for everyone who owns the base game.
Here's how to get the beta: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=22487
Challengenauts is an upcoming community-made event in which players compete to complete as many challenges as they can! At 27 November the list with challenges will be revealed (at www.challengenauts.com) and from this moment you can start completing them.
You complete the challenges by playing the game and working on different objectives; like: "Get a kill with a flying Homeless Gnome!". Once you have managed to complete a challenge, you submit the replay on the website and we will verify if it is indeed completed.
Now why would you want to complete challenges? For completing a challenge you get an 'entry-ticket' for the prize raffle. Think of this like a lottery; the more tickets you have, the higher your chances to win something from the prize board.
For more information check the website or the thread on the forum.
Like actual evidence to a person not taking part in the investigation, this all makes no sense and non of it really adds up to anything other than the new Naut is actually capable of ringing a number (that's super important by the way, honest)
Plus the livestream is tomorrow so lets get hype!
Edit: http://www.awesomenauts.com/Vault/#Stream ... Everything you need to know that we already know is on the Vault, there's no need to ask when the Streams on.
Map editor and starstorm map have both been confirmed for a year/more now. I think the guy might have been sarcastic since that's almost word for word what will happen. Here's all the upcoming features left for Starstorm.
Here's where you can read about some few details on the features.

There's a lot of L1-L3's but that's not to say newer players can't use it.
I reported a Ted player who did exactly what you describe. Turned out it was his 3rd offense and Ronma permabanned him. You can learn how to report players here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=31682
Unfortunately, that review is a little outdated, especially with the new Voltar changes coming up: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35908
> Voltar
>-Healwave minimum heal is reduced by 5
>-Healwave maximum heal is increased by 5
>-Happy thoughts, reduced healing from 20 to 17 per stage
>-Euphoric thoughts, reduced healing from 80 to 70
>-Decreased the size of Healbot’s heal/damage/knockback area
>-Weaponised Hull’s description no longer displays it only damages Awesomenauts
>-The solargain on healwave got changed, it now standardly is 1 per target
>-Dreams of Greed, now increases the solargain from healing by 1 per target
I'm betting Happy Thoughts will still be better than Euphoric Thoughts.
Sorry about the video being bugged in the beginning. It didn't render correctly.
Click here to download the mod, and see how to install it.
I hope you enjoy it!
I wrote a guide you'd be interested in. It focuses on a Rift-centric build that can branch out into AA or Snipe depending on the situation. There's also some replays at the end you can watch for tips.
I don't believe that there is a resource specifically dedicated to that. You might try Awesomenauts Settings Manager but I've not tried it yet so I don't know.
Regardless, the way P2P works makes it so that it barely matters to anyone but the attacker anyways.
That's why attacks will hit you even though your screen says otherwise. This is also why defeating people with high latency is as simple as attacking more than they do, and dodging things is as simple as dodging [your ping to the enemy - 100] milliseconds before you normally would.
Well its about time I did Genji isn't it? I actually did most of this about 3 months ago but got completely caught up in exams, now that I actually remembered its existence I've finished it (of sorts, its hard to work on something I did so long ago) I guess it turned out pretty wierd/cool.
Dude, take this down. Public shaming/calling out isn't cool. Send it privately to someone from Ronimo. ( http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3480 ) they're very reliable at getting back to you fairly quickly. This kind of thing is a nono.
Awesomenauts is designed to be a game that you can just jump into. If you enjoy awesomenauts, the starstorm expansion is pretty good, it currently unlocks 4 new nauts to play and lets you host custom games. You can still play with other people using starstorm content even if you don't buy it. When starstorm is complete there should be 5 nauts, a new map, and a co-op mission mode. If you want, you can consider backing the still running kickstarter through paypal to get beta access: http://www.awesomenauts.com/Kickstarter/index.html
The game does get balance patches pretty regularly yes. I actually wouldn't mind seeing it settle down a bit so the meta-game can develop a bit more on its own, but they are still adding new 'Nauts, so balance patches are pretty inevitable.
In terms of sites, there's always the Awesomenauts wiki (http://awesomenauts.gamepedia.com/Awesomenauts_Wiki) and the official forum (http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6), where you'll find some guides and discussion of strategy. You'll have to dig for them a bit though, and if anyone has any better suggestions, I'd actually be really curious myself.
Actually, it was recently confirmed that their species used to live in harmony on Okeanos, but the Namala (Coco's species) exiled the Mon'grah (Skree's species) for being too heavily obsessed with technology. http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=31265
This is completely subjective of course. If you want to see how many of the top 250 players main each character, check this thread (updated weekly).
How Leaderboards and matchmaking work
> -Internally, your rating consists of two numbers: Skill and Certainty. The Certainty starts really low, and as you play more, the game gets a better and better idea of how good you are exactly. If you have a high Certainty, you won't gain or lose as many points for a win or loss anymore. This is why at the beginning of a new season, your rating makes much bigger jumps than further on, when you have already played a lot and the system has a higher Certainty. Skill and Certainty are combined into a single number for the Leaderboards.

EDIT: Still reading the thread. More Dev posts to be found. http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=330758#p330758
Make a complaint at the Awesomenauts support forum so the devs will read it. Link: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
This is a good example of why the game needs a mute function for the chat and a way to block matchmaking from pairing you with undesirables. You can get his steam ID number and details by reading the logs as described here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3480
AFAIK, you can't report him as a cheater, but the information may be useful to have in case you run into him again.
Romino is aware that there are hackers and they are working on a ban system. For now, if you meet a hacker, take a screenshot/video and report it:

Most people use the Awesomenauts Forum Not everyone uses the subreddit or forums though, some probably don't know about our existence lol.
How the matchmaking works in this game is that every 5 to 8 minutes it starts a new matchmaking queue, each queue will usually have for instance 40 players in it. Once it has pinged six players together with good ping they can play (although they'll still have to wait out the queue just in case people leave.)
While the matchmaking ping side is really, really good but the downside is that queues take their times to make sure games are enjoyable.
For your own sanity, mute does wonders. If they're being very offensive, report after the match.
If you'd rather not mute for whatever reason, the most effective method is to project confidence. Don't respond at all, or only respond positively. When someone tells me something like "your naut is so unbalanced" I say "ty". "ty" is a great response because it reframes whatever shit they're saying as a compliment, no matter how nasty it is. The other thing you can do is to kick ass the whole match, but that's not always possible.
Voltar: find version 29, which worked quite well with 2.12, here.
Rocco: actually, I released a Rocco bot within 4 hours of his announcement. Apparently, he's still quite good. Find him here.
Vinnie: don't forget about my random version. It doesn't use GeneralAI, which I suppose you'll hate, but it hasn't gotten stuck for any duration after about two hours of testing. So long as there are no Heisenbugs, he should be a good base.
EDIT: Vinnie
genji - DoT is cheaper and adds a great deal of damage to your aa early on but its effectiveness falls as the game progresses. storm cloud can deal more potential damage and is extremely good at wave clearing. choosing between the two depends on whether you want good early game harassment or you want some area denial and wave clear. damage and attack speed are fine.
rocco - draw speed is considered a poor choice because an uncharged arrow flies faster yet deals the same amount of damage meaning that the only time you should be charging your arrow is to land long range snipes which you really don't need extra draw speed. police light is also considered a poor choice. as for the rest of his upgrades, you can take any as they're all useful in some way. extra slowing power and damage on aa are usually mandatory however.
penny - this guide covers how to build penny with some examples. heart shaped net is reserved for net lens. penny's upgrades are very versatile so building her is mostly about what feels right to you. as for playstyle tips, early game, pulse is better for initiations as well as starting team fights and can travel through terrain. pounce is good for displacing, assassinating, some extra damage in the middle of a brawl, and of course escaping. penny also can have up to 4 jumps which is extremely good for dodging as well as maneuvering the map.
This sub didn't post the live stream that occured at 1pm EST. It wasn't accidental, the stream revealed the Rocco ninja skin in action as well as the new Skree skin; it also launched the 2.11 update.
They also announced the 2nd Create-a-Naut contest.
If you want to try a unique and challenging playstyle, I just updated the guide I made on Heartshaped Net (reset pulse cooldown on one charge) + Death Lens (next claw after landing pulse becomes ranged and does extra damage).
It might seem hard at first, but stick with it and you'll have people calling you a hacker in no time.
Here's a thread posted recently about transitioning from DoTA 2 to Awesomenauts on the forums. (Unless you were the one posting that...)
(answers paraphrased/copied from that thread:)
Basically, the meta here is 1) pushing and 2) killing 'nauts so that you can push. You need to kill droid waves so that the other team does not have a push.
You should always, always attack droids. There is no concept of "last-hitting", droids killed by other droids drop solar onto the ground where anyone can collect it. Clearing droids will allow your team to push turrets and stops the other team from pushing your turrets.
Probably the biggest difference is that there is no farming priority and you're almost always engaging the other heroes at all stages of the game. No character spends time farming, the "hard carry" role doesn't exist in Nauts. Everyone is always fighting, and in doing so they clear droids and get kills and get enough money to keep at it.
Tell your friends to think of the playstyle of Undying, Pudge, Tinker, etc any early game, ganking, and split pushing hero. There is no such thing as a late game carry in Nauts, not to the point where you'd spend the first twenty minutes farming without fighting the enemy directly. There's no such thing as defined roles either*, almost every character should be constantly clearing waves, fighting and pushing, gaining farm as they go.
The only true support in Awesomenauts is Voltar, who earns solar (gold/money) through healing other nauts and droids with his healwave autoattack. Everyone else must clear droids or kill other players for solar. Solar is important because it allows you to buy the upgrades you need to be better than the other team.
It doesn't matter how many kills you get if you don't use the advantage provided by those kills to push turrets and destroy the other team's core.
Yes, you will receive keys through the humble widget. Note that there is no physical merchandise you can purchase through the Kickstarter at this point (it used to include posters).
He is cheating but I don't know how. He almost always disconnects from a losing game and gets no score penalty. This time I caught him.

There's already 2 Tournaments planned out on the official forums if you guys wanna check it out as well.
TourneyNauts - http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8622
APL Tournament - http://apl.iougaming.com/threads/first-ever-apl-tournament.215/
For now, I would recommend joining those two before we host our own here.
But if people are really keen on hosting our own redditnaut event, I will personally host one if we get 20 people commenting here saying they are interested. Gonna put up somewhat of a prize for it as well.
I'm dying to see what the big feature that Ronimo has been hyping will be.
I update this folder every official patch.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/9rtwbk6w7qfxn/Awesomenauts%20Sounds
The sound you need should be in this file.
These come straight from the game files, yes the file are encrypted, but if the game can decrypt it, so can other people :)
Hey Prestus, we are investigating some of the technical issues that might cause this problem.Could you please also post your problem on our tech support forum?(http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13) It would help us further investigate the issue. Thanks for your reporting, we will make the game more awesome!
Sorry to hear about this issue :( We're investigating, and will do what we can to address the issue as soon as possible. If you haven't already, could you please report this on the forums and send us your logs? You can find all you need over here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13
I'm sorry to hear that. Could you please send us your logs, or post about this issue on our forums? We will need some additional information to be able to address that issue.
More information on how you can help us fix this issue can be found here: http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2223&p=15335#p15335
Sorry if this sounds obvious, but did you not just try practice mode? Or does that also affect stats?
Third question- Ranking is just what helps you find your matchmaking. It wouldn't be fair for the absolute new players if all the prestiging veterans got dropped down to their league and wiped the floors every match. You do unfortunately have the disadvantage of having to play in the same league with less upgrades, but that's prestige for you.
As for the Linux problem, the devs are pretty easy to contact so you might want to go ask on the tech support forums.
I don't know how new you are, but here are some general tips:
That's all I got for now.
EDIT: I found this link in the wiki. http://www.awesomenauts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10783 it's a tad outdated but most advice still goes.
Hi, and welcome to the Awesomenauts community! You'll find everything you need to get started in the sidebar, such as the awesome Awesomenauts 101 guide on the Awesomenauts forums. In general, the forums are a bit more populated so you might be better off looking for builds/other things over there. GLHF!
It was a tool created before AwesomeDraft and is actually available for download here.
I'm assuming he wants this published as a tool on Steam
You probably also could've mentioned these discount keys are given out free to whoever signs up for Ronimo's Newsletter at this link for everyone else that wants one but didn't get yours.
The game asks itself the following questions:
The game does not care about your kills, creep score, solar, etc. The only thing it really cares about is whether or not you lost and to who.
Disconnects, no matter the reason, count as a loss. Reconnecting unfortunately does not alleviate the rating loss.
If you're a data nerd, there's a pretty comprehensive tool for tracking rating change and I think it tracks all the way back to your first match ever played in the game.
In the future betas will be freely accessible for everyone, but for the coming patch or patches (we haven't decided how long yet) you will still need to back the Kickstarter campaign to get beta access: http://www.awesomenauts.com/Kickstarter/index.html
The livestream will reveal what is in the beta, but things like skins are never in beta, so those are revealed in the Vault in the period between beta launch and the final patch release.
The link is linking directly to the OP of a post where I talk about DefenceAI (Which is the new GeneralAI).
There is a link to download TedBot and on how to install bots in the same post.
If you can't find it I'll include it here:
Oh my god, I hope this isn't the graphical problem that made ronimo revert the nauts version to the previously one (i think it happened during 2.9 or 2.8, not sure) Do you always see these squares? You should check the file integrity and try again, try switching between directx and open gl, or full screen and borderless. Also please create a thread on the official forums so a dev can help you.
Hey there is a video export feature! It was introduced in 2.10 among with the kill cam. To use it you have to go watch a replay, then look in the right top corner, you will see some small icons, one to turn on/off the playdock, chat, etc. The last one (from right to left) is the kill cam/video export (i forgot which). Press the icon and you will see a window where you have to set the video options. I suggest you to try this codec because the quality on the exported videos is much higher. If you need further help, please reply here or send me a pm, I will help you right away!
