To actually answer your question, I would think becoming a U.S. senator and working to pass serious climate legislation would have the highest impact. It's not like we need more climate scientists to give us more charts. And it's not like we need solar energy engineers to invent better solar power. What we need is political will and political action. Since U.S. senators have 6-year terms and the ability to introduce legislation, they may be more powerful than a president. (I would say become president, but presidents seem limited in a lot of ways.)

Unfortunately, you have to be at minimum 30 years old to be a Senator, and we don't have 15 years to wait. (We will be over 1.5 C by then.) You have to be 35 to be President, that would take a little bit longer. However, to become one of those, it would be good to hold lower offices as you work your way up.

Purely as a thought experiment, then, I would say that you should try to hold the highest possible political office you could in order to change policy decisions at the local, state, national level. (Or whatever the equivalent is in your country)

Helping to pass a carbon tax or decarbonization plan or solar incentives, etc. would do way more for the planet than lowering your individual consumption.

My viewpoint is that people have a herd mentality, so the only way to create significant change is to stampede the herd.

I don't think pointing to single warm days is a good practice. Average high in December from 1971-2000 was 4.6C. Looking at your 10-day forecast, that still seems to be the case. Could just as well link to December 2009 and see that there was a high of 20C on Christmas...

Right now it's getting colder and colder in a lot of places that don't normally get cold weather and it's getting hotter and hotter in places that usually stay cold. There are many countries in Europe that are usually covered in snow right now but don't have any snow. Individual instances like this don't mean much by themselves but when viewed as a trend over many decades we can see the climate is most definitely changing.
