You can download it here for android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
Also available for your computer
Every ~43 searches they get the ad revenue for 1 Tree. I have already planted about 12 trees or so (Well they did the work of course). If more and more people use it they can get more popular so even more trees can be planted, so please help!
Thank you guys
To answer point number 6 for you. Ecosia does have a browser in the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android&hl=en
We need to plant more trees to help the environment.
This is where you can help very easily!!
Use the Web browser Ecosia - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
Ecosia takes about 45 web searches to finance the planting of 1 - and they have nearly planted 140,000,000 trees in total!
You can help just by searching the Internet on Ecosia rather than Google! You don't even need to do proper searches, you can just spam the same search every 20 seconds or so to register a search.
I have made about 1600 web searches the last week, about, 35 trees have been planted just because of my Internet activity!
You may not see my other reply, but they do have a browser too. I just realized that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android&hl=en I just shared it on this sub, it's not my original content, I did share the original post as a reshare or whatever those are called.

To use on android you have to install the ecosia browser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
It's a chromium browser so it acts exactly like chrome except with ecosia as the search engine in the address bar.
You can download the ecosia browser and set it to your default.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
It's a chromium browser so it has all the same features as chrome, just with ecosia as the address bar search engine. It also has a search bar widget to put on your home screen if you use one.
Yes there is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android&hl=en
But, I just shared this post. It's not my post. I would have called it a search engine. I didn't know they had a browser either. I did know they had an app, I just looked to see what they call their app, I had a feeling it was a complete browser.
Here's a override to this issue, it works for Prime Video so it should theoretically work for Netflix too (I can't test it cause I don't have Netflix right now, I figured this method out just recently and I haven't had Netflix for a few months). I hope me discussing it here doesn't result in them fixing it -
Open PrimeVideo (Or Netflix in your case) in a browser, specifically Ecosia Browser and after you open the website just request a desktop website from the menu options. It should work perfectly fine and result in 1080p HD streaming (It does for me). This also works in Firefox Nightly (Not in the Stable one, or the Beta one, you get Pop-Ups on those saying you need to fix a setting in your browser which actually doesn't exist) but even though it will start playing the videos, the videos themselves will have 1 of 2 massive visual artifact issues that happen.
I have tried many many browsers and in almost all of them this doesn't work, you get some or the other pop-up disallowing the video to play. Only other browser I know where this worked for me is Microsoft Edge but that also started showing the error pop-up after 2~ days for some reason.
I have tried this method on 3 different 1080p HD screen phones which all have L3 DRM limit and on all three this worked so this should work on the 3, 5, 5T or any other such phone too.
Someone lemme know if this works with Netflix or not, i might get Netflix back again if this works with Netflix.
And I really hope they fix this soon. I'm just so sick and tired of this DRM bullshit. You pay for an expensive high resolution phone, you pay for a high bandwidth connection and then you pay for a streaming service that provides high resolution streaming and still you have to fucking watch stuff in 20 year old standard resolution.

What you mean? I use Ecosia on Android 12 too.
There's a search box at the top of every new tab you open.
This is the Ecosia app:

I haven't used it, but it appears that they have an android app that is a chromium based browser
Please use (Ecosia app at search engine PC)[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android]
>Ecosia is a search engine that uses at least 80% of its profits from search ad revenue to finance tree planting programs around the world.
Also checkout this firefox fork that uses the Ecosia search engine by default: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android&hl=en_US
For desktop look for Waterfox.
If you are as concerned, as I am and looking for solutions, here's a list with 5 things you can do:
1. Join relevant subreddits!
2. Plant trees by browsing the web!
Make ecosia your default search engine, install the app on android or your iphone
3. Change where it doesn't hurt!
By shopping more conscious you'll probably have the biggest impact. Reduce your use of palm oil, beef and dairy, as they are some of the main drivers for deforestation. If you buy meat, buy locally!
If it's a possibility, try using your bike or public transportation more often.
4. Share your thoughts!
Share related articles on social media and Reddit. Stay connected!
5. Vote!
Seriously, do it.

1. Join relevant subreddits:
2. Plant trees by browsing the web:
Make ecosia your default search engine, install the app on android or your iphone
3. Change where it doesn't hurt:
Replace beef with chicken. By eating less beef and dairy products, you'll support less deforestation and will create fewer greenhouse gasses.
Replace palm oil products, again because of deforestation.
*try using your bike or public transportation more ofte*n. You'll produce less co2.

Hey guys, with all this talk about climate change and recent incident with the Amazon forest fire, I want to share something pretty cool I came across.

Ecosia, a search engine, is committed to using 80% of its profits from ad revenue to plant more trees. I've tried using them and it seems to function pretty well, unless you're looking for highly obscure stuff it might be able to replace Google as your daily search engine.

I'm not sure how to solve the issue you are having, but I can tell you that the Ecosia browser for Android is just a version of Google Chrome that has been rebranded and uses Ecosia as the default search.
If you can't fix the problems with the Ecosia app, you could install Firefox for Android together with the Ecosia Firefox Plugin - which should set the default search experience to Ecosia.
That way you are still using Ecosia as your default search and planting trees!
Using it as a browser on Android.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
And they have a web browser app that looks identical to Chrome.
Absolutely :D
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
If you want it on your computer you can just search "ecosia browser" on your current browser
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
You'll like this link then, unless you're on iOS
Thanks, I'll look into that.

You mean like this?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
oh also, I’d like to encourage the use of Ecosia, a search engine that plants trees
Check out Ecosia browser, based on chromium. They plant trees with their profits.
And the phone app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
Download it here for Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
Yes, they are. They are open about their income and publish monthly reports showing how they are using their money (80% of their profits are used to plant trees). Here is the report for July 2019, for instance.
If you're still doubtful, you can watch this independent video.
They also protect your privacy: they don't sell your data to advertisers (while Google do), your searches are anonymised after a week and encrypted. You can have more information on https://info.ecosia.org/privacy
If you're on a desktop, just visit http://www.ecosia.org. They should show you how to install Ecosia as a Chrome or Firefox add-on. If that isn't the case, you'll find the Chrome extension here and the Firefox add-on here.
If you're on a mobile, just search "Ecosia" on the Google Play Store (link) or Apple's App Store (link).
If you'd like to help Ecosia, they best you can do is talking to your friends and family about it. Tell them how they plant trees and how much using Ecosia is better than using Google, especially when talking about privacy.
If you're still a student, you can try and convince your school to switch to Ecosia. Ecosia made a pretty good guide on how to do it.
If you study at a university, you can take part in an Ecosia on Campus project to make your university and its students switch to Ecosia. Once again, Ecosia made a step-by-step guide on to run a Ecosia on Campus campaign.
Pssst! Sometimes you may not find what you want on Ecosia. There's actually a tip if that happens to you: adding #g at the end of your query redirects you to Google.
I mean there's also ecosia https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ecosia.android
It's a search engine. Every time you search for something, they will plant a tree.
Well, it's their catchphrase. In reality, they just donate 80 % of their revenu to a planting program in africa and south america.
