iPhones get the longest "support" compared to other manufacturers, but that support is basically only to placate people who don't know any better. It's usually better, for instance, to not update your 2 year old iPhone, because the newer iOS won't be optimized at all for your older generation phone. You might as well just sit on iOS 7 instead of updating to the new shiny version on your iphone 5 for instance. God knows why ios 10 is available on it.

As for which phone I'd recommend, it depends on your use case. If you don't care about big tech, and don't need specific things like unlocked bootloaders, headphone jacks, and don't mind the same locked down default user experience that apple has, then pick whatever shiny you like. If you use a phone for more than just a social media and calling box, then you'll want to look at which phone specs you want yourself. Last time I picked a phone, I used GSMArena.

For public schools the effect really isn't as great as you might think. In general, smart students tend to excel even in bad schools and dumb students fail even in good schools. And if you really want to talk about education then you may as well tell me how affirmative action fits into the institutional racism narrative - if you are black and perform like an average white student you essentially almost get a free pass to a prestigious university.

As for harsher sentences you could look into how e.g. courtroom behavior affects sentencing, which is linked to IQ and once you compare people with similar IQs the race difference becomes essentially neglible.

The alternative is a government that works in the interests of the CITIZENS rather than in the interests of private corporations (who de facto ARE the government if it's too weak to regulate them).
