I bought a set of 6 different colours from Amazon a while back - I can't remember which exact store I bought from but it's these velvet ones. You should also be able to find the same ones from AliExpress but they might arrive much slower.
Great advice here for when to remove it. My husband bought me some finger shaped ring holders to put in places where I would remove my rings in the house like sinks and bedroom night stand. I also bought a clever necklace that I can put my rings on easily while I’m out if need be. you don’t need to remove the necklace to add rings which is convenient.
It's not actually a real lab diamond, even though it's marketed as one. Most likely, it's a cubic zirconia. It's not gold, and it doesn't even say it's sterling silver, so it's probably plated brass.
It's not a good deal at all.
If you want a very pretty, very durable diamond-like stone for much less than diamond prices, I recommend looking at moissanite. You can get a nice-looking moissanite set in 10k gold (10k is harder and less expensive than 14k) for under $500 these days. Moissanite is extremely pretty and sparkly, and has a Moh's hardness of 9.25. Sapphire has a hardness of 9, and diamond has a hardness of 10. Any stone with a hardness above 8.5 is going to be quite durable and resistant to scratching.
Here's a similar ring in Moissanite and white gold on Amazon, from a seller I have heard others have good experiences with. I recently bought a pair of earrings from them and am very happy with them, but I can't speak for their rings since I've never seen one in person. https://www.amazon.com/DOVEGGS-Cushion-Moissanite-Engagement-Accents/dp/B07D36FDRJ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1547673538&sr=8-3&keywords=moissanite+halo+ring+10k
There are keychains that you can put rings in and attach to your keys. I’m assuming she’s keeping an eye on her keys or has them in a safe place.
I totally voucher for using these. They come with loads in the pack and I change it out for a new section whenever the plastic starts to turn colors from getting dirty. My hands fluctuate so much throughout the year, between different activities (like cold day at work to doing hot yoga) or even within the normal progression of the day. I have found these to be fantastic and have no complaints. I'm only probably a 1/4 off, but when I tried to my wedding band in addition to the e ring without the plastic loops, it fit perfectly. I don't want to resize my e ring.
Unfortunately the exact one I bought on Amazon is out of stock but look for the same spiral loop. It gives you lots of customization for exactly how much space you need. Much better than the traditional plastic tube, or the metal crimped wire

I have a 4.5 and it's just loose enough that it spins but would be too small if sized down to a 4 and I ever gained any weight at all, so I just bought these $10 adjusters from Amazon instead. It snaps on to the inside of the bottom of the band, and it's clear so no one will even know it's there unless they seriously stare at the bottom side of your finger for some reason. My band is under 2mm wide and the smallest size (the pack comes with many sizes) fits perfectly.
So originally, I bought the dinosaur and it came by itself, no plate. I was always afraid of knocking it over so I searched for a small ring dish and happened to find one that matched perfectly! I used gorilla glue on the feet and stuck them together!
In the photo it looks snug but not TIGHT. You mentioned being able to turn it, does it turn easily? If it turns easily/ without struggle you might be a 7.25 or 7.5.
I bought off Amazon this sizer, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08THGJJ4D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I had been sized at Hezelberg previously as a 4.5 and this sizer provided the same results.
Also there's standard fit rings and comfort fit rings. For comfort fit rings you'll want one size smaller than your standard size (so if you're a 7.5 then you'd want a 7.25 for comfort fit). https://www.camoeverafter.com/comfort-fit-vs-standard-fit-rings/
thank you so much! It's color 142 from this dip kit from Amazon.

If you prefer gel polish, Sugar Fix from Sally Hansen is a pretty close match, just slightly darker.
Maybe try some ring spacers? I got these from Amazon awhile back. My ring was also turning to the sides as it was just a teeny bit loose, but these adjusters helped.
They should come off your finger with slight resistance at the knuckle, otherwise they might just slip off without you noticing. Your ring size will vary slightly throughout the day due to changes in temperature, blood pressure, and water retention among other factors, so it's best to pick up a cheap ring sizer like this one and wear one of the loops around for a day to see how your size fluctuates. The difference between sizes are fractions of millimeters in diameter (about 0.8mm difference between sizes, and ring sizes can get as specific as quarter sizes) so I think you might continue to run into sizing issues if they only offer rings in sizes of whole millimeters.
this one is pretty affordable
I've heard good things about the diamond dazzle stick, but I've never tried it myself and can't personally attest to it. I recently picked up an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and I honestly don't know how I got on without it for so long. It's great for all types of jewelry and even glasses! I'm also trying to use less disposable plastic wherever I can, so the ultrasonic cleaner has my recommendation for sure :)
I’ve been losing weight since engaged and I bought this and have loved it! It’s comfortable, easy to take on and off, and you cut it yourself. It comes with a decent amount of it, so as I’ve continued loosing weight I’ve just made the cut bigger and it’s worked perfectly!
We haven’t been able to get our rings resized due to Covid, but I think my ring is at least half a size too big at the moment.
I am also new to the ring-care world and had the same concerns as you about a ring holder - almost all of them are ceramic, but it made me worry it would scratch the band of my ring over time. I found some polyresin ones that I have at each sink, in the kitchen, and at my bedside and I love them! one of then came with the paint chipped a bit, but otherwise they seem to work well.
I also take my ring off for the three S's -- sleeping, scrubbing (household cleaning and showering), and sweating (any workout that involves more than a light jog). I don't garden, but I see many others mention they take their ring off for this as well.
I have a fairly dark sapphire and will clean it at home when I can no longer see as vibrant flashes of blue in the light, about once a month. I put the ring in a small bowl of warm water and dish soap, let it soak for 15 minutes, then scrub it with a soft toothbrush, and rinse.
Beautiful!!
I love my ultrasonic cleaner! I put all my jewelry in it 1-2x week and always sparkly clean! Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner with Digital Timer for Eyeglasses, Rings, Coins (MGUC500) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B007Q2M17K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5zohFbS4SV77E
Sure!
It’s CZ. I had originally gotten a moissanite ring from Amazon (also linked below), which was gorgeous, but liked the style of the CZ ring better! Plus it was a little cheaper 🤷🏻♀️
Edit: clarification
Not a “forever” ring, but it would get you by. I do agree with u/JessieAnonymous that it’s not a wise choice, but the option is there.

Mine does the same thing, you can also get something like this.
These are nice because they’re just temporary. In the winter, my ring spins a lot, but in the summer, it feels almost tight at times, so I like the option of being able to cut the sizer to fit whatever my hand is doing at a particular time of the year.
I do this! I usually wear some kind of necklace every day and when I’m doing something that’s rough on my hands and not at home, I’ll just hang my ring on my chain. I know there’s specifically made ring holder necklaces out there too! But I just simply use whatever necklace I’m wearing. In my opinion, any necklace works but I’m always more cautious when I’m wearing a necklace that’s on the thinner/daintier side!
Edit: adding what a ring holder necklace looks like if you’d rather buy one for it lol

Such a coincidence… I was proposed to two months ago and the ring was half a size too big for me, also size 4. I just went to have it resized today to a 3.5 after wearing it with a spacer this whole time. The spacer that I used was pretty awesome. It was not the spiral one but instead a little plastic insert that just sat inside the ring while I was wearing it. It was super duper stealth and no one ever noticed it. I also use my hand a lot when I talk and it was only when I pointed it out that anyone ever noticed.
I used the smallest one that came in the pack.

Mine's on the looser side, it fits more snug with the wedding band on there too and I panic and fiddle with the ring when it's too tight which makes my finger swell. Anyways, I bought this https://www.amazon.ca/Adjuster-Invisible-Transparent-Silicone-Tightener/dp/B07G5Z9X4G/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=ring+adjuster&qid=1623381423&sr=8-4 instead of sizing down because of those reasons, could be another option for you for the cold months.
The difference between ring sizes is fractions of millimeters. Between a whole size and the next half size up (size 6 and 6.5 for example) the difference in diameter is only 0.4mm. This is why those sliding plastic sizers don't work. A ring should come off with slight resistance at the knuckle, and the plastic sizer simply isn't rigid enough to give you an accurate measurement while you slide it over that part of your finger.
Get some of these, take the one you like best of the hook and wear it around the house for a day to see how your ring would fit as your finger swells or shrinks throughout a normal day. This is the only kind of sizing that is actually accurate.
Personally, I would find out what style your gf likes. Find out her ring size, and you can get a cheap ring sizer online to find out if this is close to her size (assuming this is a style she likes.) if it’s not her style, you can take both rings to a jeweler to have the ring remade. Maybe if she’s not into a solitaire, you can do a 3 stone setting with two of the smaller stones?
Depends on the shape of your fingers and hand overall. For example, my fingers are skinny and nickles wide. So I have to put my ring on with soap and it's the only way for it not too spin too easily (and it still spins, I'm talking about wide band).
Get one of this metal (!) rings sizers and wear different sizes for a day or so and see what's comfortable for you.

A lot of ladies in my wedding planning group seem to really like the rings from this maker on Amazon, and they are in your price range for sure: https://www.amazon.com/TransGems-Moissanite-Simulated-Diamond-Engagement/dp/B076GY1K1H/ref=sr_1_17?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1544546739&sr=1-17&nodeID=7141123011&psd=1&keywords=transgems+moissanite
There should be some resistance when removing your ring over your knuckle, but I think before you 100% commit to the resize you should try some silicon ring adjusters. I personally like my rings just slightly too big so I can wear it in the summer when my fingers swell from the heat, so this is a perfect solution for me.
It’s this one actually

This is the one I have now - it’s 2 or 3 years old and still going strong :)
Definitely a larger size with a spacer. A ring that is too snug will drive you nuts. You can re-measure in the summer too- my fingers are almost a full ring size larger when it's hot out
I’d never say it on someone’s post. They’re happy and that’s what counts.
But some rings on this sub just look like this to me, in the mean snarky part of my mind I know I shouldn’t share too much
Here they are! I lost a lot of weight recently and had to get these to stop my wedding ring from falling off. I like that you get several sizes and can cut them to the best length for your ring, plus be able to get many adjusters from each one.
New soft toothbrush and use warm water and blue dawn (or another dish soap without hand lotions). Give it a scrub, rinse and dry. Be careful not to catch the prongs on the drying cloth.
You can also get an ultrasonic cleaner. I have this one and it works fine.

I honestly haven't tried any other options due to this one working well. It's just a little piece of plastic you slide under your ring after you put it on. I don't want to size mine down for the exact same reason--I'd like it to fit when I'm pregnant.
For all my jewelry, I keep them in a jewelry box, mostly because my cat will think they are toys and knock them around and I'll never see them again. I use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Organizer-Portable-Earrings-Necklaces-TRODANCE/dp/B09631PYPT/ref=sr\_1\_1\_sspa?keywords=travel+jewelry+case&qid=1666401045&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI2Ljg1IiwicXNhIjoiNi4zOSIsInFzcCI6IjYuMjEifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
Oops I meant in a different comment! Here it is though!
There are a ton of different options on Amazon but I like the ones that have different coil thicknesses that you can cut yourself!
I was in the same situation. If you have some money to spare, I'd recommend getting the smallest stone from https://www.moissaniteco.com/moissanite/gemstones
I got a promise ring for $60 from https://www.amazon.com/AINUOSHI-Moissanite-Sterling-Engagement-Anniversary/dp/B08MPZSHB8#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
A second ring is useful to wear in situations where your ring is more likely to be lost or stolen. Looks better than a silcone ring substitute too!
I have one of those necklace ring holders that you can easily slide your ring onto before procedures.
I have large knuckles and thin fingers (yes it’s due to a joint disease). Bc of this any ring that fits over my knuckle is too big and swings. My engagement ring is lovely but it has a large center stone. So I wear one of the above ring resizers, cut to fit, all the time. It’s a tad inconvenient at times but it works. I do have to remove it b4 I take my ring off. Anyway I hope that helps 🙂
This may (or may not) help, but you could try an inexpensive silicone ring adjuster like this one:
It could be that with the combination of the (top heavy) weight of your ring, in conjunction with the fact that the ring is a tad too large, the ring is slightly "spinning" around your finger and causing irritation. You could try this "daily use" adjuster alternative prior to resizing. The softness of the silicone could help make your ring more comfortable and wearable.
Once the ring is resized, should your finger swell (for any reason) you yet again need another resizing to adjust the ring back to its original larger size.
This one is the one I have! Great reviews on Amazon and I feel like it’s a great product!
It comes with two sizes (good for thin or thicker bands) and lots of material so you’ll be set. It’s cheap too and much more cost effective than another resize! You can remove it at any time or add more material around your band.
+1 to this cleaning method. I have a couple of emerald (same gem family as aquamarine) rings that I clean this way, except I use an extra gentle horsehair brush designed for silver care on all my jewelry. Focus on scrubbing the underside of the stone, where dirt tends to collect, rather than the crown.
Yeah you probably don't need to clean it that often. It's ok to just keep an eye on it and clean as you notice smudges/build up. But if you want an easier way to do it, you can get a soncitor on amazon and just use that every few weeks (with a little soap added or not, up to you). https://www.amazon.com/Magnasonic-Professional-Ultrasonic-Eyeglasses-MGUC500/dp/B007Q2M17K/
I got "UOOOM Wood Ring Box Portable Jewelry Box" off Amazon for $16. Worked great.
I had to cant the ring off to the side a bit to get the lid to shut, but I think that's just because it was a big chonky boi with an almost 4ct center stone. Construction was fine - not necessarily the most robust thing I've ever handled, but it just has to live in your pocket for 1 day max.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KJD1YHQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Adding to my other reply to you, a local jeweler did say that unless it's an alloy, due to the Platinum that it'll not be resizable.
However, we could add a metal ring guard. That's better than ring adjusters or plastic ring guards. This is an example here. And they would match the metal type by using a titanium ring guard.
https://www.amazon.com/White-Yellow-Filled-Metal-Guard/dp/B072KYMP72/
But, we may need to make a hard choice and return this and go with white gold instead. This isn't available in white gold so it'd be a similar ring from a different retailer. It's all up to her preference, so we'll see what she wants to do! :)
I have a similar setting, but an oval(in post history)! I use the same ring cleaner my mom always uses (she's a big diamond girl). I also take it off to shower, work out, clean, use lotion etc. but i still use the cleaner once a week, and keep a baby toothbrush (soft bristles) around for cleaning. If I'm, in a rush, I'll just rinse it off with a bit of water and clear dish soap

I have a ring hand holder on my sinks: kitchen and lavatories. I take mine off as a means to not bang about and damage prongs. Something like this:
You’ve got this, just shake it off, adapt and overcome. Adjusting to a slight time delay for the real ring is better than starting from zero.
Propose with this - it can be a travel ring in the future.

Amazon has really nice rings less than $20. I currently wear a S925 ring from there so as to avoid wearing my actual engagement ring everyday since I work at a hospital. Mine was $18.99. Check this out.

It kinda sounds like it would look ridiculous lol. But the heart wants what it wants. My advice is to buy some incredibly cheap ring on Amazon that is silver and cz with the size stone you want. Like this one. Try it on and you can figure it out from there. It doesn’t matter if the band is too big, for now you need it just to see how the stone looks.

There's an identical ring coming for me. We're gay, so we have no feeling of "we must follow the heterosexual rules and get a gold ring with a diamond." He's also not American, and in his culture the concept of an engagement ring is apparently foreign, I had to explain to him that it's not only important to me personally, it's important to the immigration people that we have photos of the proposal and us wearing the rings. He offered to pay for gold, but I preferred tungsten carbide because it's very light, almost indestructible, but will break rather than pull your finger off of it's ever caught on something serious.
Natural opals are now rather rare; it's far, far easier to find synthetic opal, and I really don't care. The light is sorta bright in the photo (yes, it's built into the box, which is a little tacky but it'll sparkle nicely when I get on my knee with it) so you can't tell, but the opal is actually black with blue green flecks. (It's this one.) (He picked it. We both wanted bright blue opal and he wanted a gold color setting, but I couldn't find the bright blue ring in gold color setting available in both our sizes.)
It was really very inexpensive. Both rings together (inscribed) will cost me under $85. Nice that what I actually wanted was cheap, isn't it? (He'll probably buy gold wedding rings for us. We'll probably go to NYC to choose and buy, if I don't make them.) (He proposed to me verbally, and we have been collaborating on choosing the engagement ring, so I have no doubt he'll say yes.)
Buying the rings was an earth-shatteringly important step for me. I'm 50 and I've never been married (there were a few guys I wanted to marry in the 90s but legally couldn't), I can hardly believe that at this age there's still a possibility of a relationship.
Truly life changing! Haha this is the one I have:

No experience but wanted to throw out that you can get ring adjusters on Amazon for $5-6. They go on the back of the ring so it shouldn’t be visible in photos. Your future fiancé could propose with your actual ring and you could do free resizing after you return if you’re worried about Fred Meyer.
I would definitely suggest a cheap placeholder ring from Amazon and you can also purchase a ring box if you'd like to make it more of a traditional proposal instead of just giving her the ring. Placeholders can go for less than $20! Take a look below.
I had the same concern! I kept reading about how resizing can cause pave stones to fall out so I never resized my ring for the first 3 years haha. I just added one of those clear ring coils to make the perfect fit. I decided to resize it after I upgraded the stone and thankfully, I haven’t had an issue with stones falling out!
I wouldn’t resize it more than once though to be safe
Then get a proposal ring, not an engagement ring, and do the real shopping after the proposal. My fiancé also thought I wanted a round brilliant and I absolutely did not. Fortunately he was smart enough not to spend thousands of dollars on something that I will wear every day for the rest of my life without getting my input!
My ring has lots of little nooks and crannies and builds up oils/skin/dirt so easily. This one has a lot more than mine. It would definitely be difficult to keep clean - but it is totally gorgeous!
My jeweler recommended an ultra fine bristle baby toothbrush and dish soap to keep it clean. Maybe just plan on having these on hand.
Yup! I use this one and I love it. I have two (one by the kitchen sink & one in our bathroom) and if I need to take off my ring it goes on one of these two. I like I because it’s heavy enough that I don’t feel like I could knock it over like these ones that are in our other bathrooms. So I just don’t use them. It’s really helped me and I bring one every time I travel.
I’ve had this one for a couple of years and love it!
I am a VERY clumsy camel and knock into everything. I don’t normally notice a stone is loose until it’s gone. Thankfully regular cleanings in the ultrasonic are a thing- the stones fall out and I find them under the little basket (safe, not on the street or at work!) From there it’s back to the jeweler and into their home :)
If I notice that one is loose/a funny prong/whatever, they go to the jeweler first! That’s not super common though. 🤦🏻♀️
For what it's worth, I also have a Leda ring from Heidi Gibson and it's similarly hard to clean. Here's how I clean mine:
I take a small bowl, put 3 drops of Dawn dish soap in the bottom, then add 2 tablespoons of ammonia free (this is crucial) Windex, then 1/2 cup of very hot but not boiling water. I let my ring sit in the mixture for 10 minutes. Then I fish it out, swish it around vigorously in the mixture. Next I use a brush like this which is the best thing I've found that is precise and can get into the few nooks and crannies that are accessible from the bottom of the ring. I also brush it from the top. Then swish vigorously in the mixture again. Lastly I empty the bowl, and soak the ring one last time in just plain hot water for another 5 minutes, then dry with a clean cloth.
yes of course! i don't have a machine although i heard those are great, but i've been using this product called "simple shine" i bought from amazon. it's been working extremely well for me and i just follow the instructions on the box. it comes with a cleaning solution, a small brush, and cleaning cloth. if you're interested, here's the link for it:
I am in a similar situation and I have actually already lost a ring this way. A friend of mine shared this product with me, I plan to buy one to match my replacement band .

Ugh I know I feel you. I want my ring to just be attached to me at all times lol. I would recommend getting this ring dish! I have one in my bedroom and one in the kitchen. I have the heart shape but they have other styles. I love that it has the holder in the middle so the ring can’t just slide off of the dish. ♥️
I once knew a girl that got a fantastic pair of engagement shoes. Bright red heels iirc. :)
You don’t have to get a ring. Do what works for you.
If you’d like to humor everyone, get a very thin, plain stacker band. You can wear it with any future rings (should you go that route) and spend well under $100.

Hot water and a bit of Dawn. Safe for almost everything.
Bonus: if you’ve got loose pave/center, it falls out in the gray and can be replaced. No losses on the street! Doesn’t loosen stones - I’ve sent pieces through a bunch and as long as the prongs are fine, they stay in.
A little new to this so I'm not sure what a ring size guard is but if it's the same as an adjuster, I just bought this from amazon for myself. Size 3.5 was too small so we went with 3.75 but ended up with the same issue as you. I tried different sizes from the pack and found one that works and keeps the ring snugged on my finger and no spinning.
I knew my engagement was coming so I purchased this one for my two major sinks (master bath/kitchen sink). Then I got these for the two other bathrooms!
I love it. When my ring isn’t on my finger I KNOW it’s on one of those. I do not take off my ring unless Im close to those spots because I’m scared of losing it. (Simply for sentimental values/it would be tough to replace).
I use the glass ones the most! Seems more secure and has som heft to it.

I’ve used it almost everyday since sept and it works great. I also get compliments on it as a necklace before people even realize what it’s used for.
I have a ring that I’ve posted on this sub before, but I find that I wear my thin enso silicone ring more often. Literally can’t feel it. I’ll probably only wear the “real” rings on special occasions.
I wear this one from Amazon almost every day at work. Also handy to throw the ring in when doing dishes. Very easy to use and so far it’s held up really well! The gap was originally too small to fit my ring into (and it’s only 1.5mm) but it was pliable enough that I could stretch it a little and now it works great. I highly recommend these! They're very comfortable and come with several different sizes to match your band width. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WK2NNR6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_EGEVR1HJP40GR642R3EW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Is the part directly under the stone open? If so some warm soapy water on a toothbrush should be able to get it out. If not you may need a jeweler’s ultrasonic cleaner to get it out. They make small and affordable home ones now which are good for personal use.
A cheap triplet, hand held in front of your cell phone camera does wonders:

If it's still a little big, I highly recommend these. I tried the spiral style and didn't like the feel of them, these were so much more comfortable. Yeah, I also realized that the one I sent only had 2 sizes of adjusters.bThis one has more, which is what my friend gave me. This give you even more options. Good luck!

I'm not going to be able to explain this well haha so here's a link to the product. I didn't even buy the whole pack, my friend gave me a couple different sizes and I just picked the one that fit the best and trimmed the length so it felt comfortable on the underside of my finger. There's no seams in the silicone part so I feel zero discomfort. It was just a matter of finding the right thickness of the silicone spiral to use up the extra space.

So after seeing me misplace mine all the time my friend got cheap ring holders that I have in the living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom that spell out when put together “F (where’s) U (my) C (engagement) K (ring) !(?)” (the capital letters are sparkly and the ones in parentheses are are just in sharply) seriously one of the best and most continent thing
He's not great at surprises and I'm not great at ignoring the hints ;) so I definitely knew it was coming, but that doesn't mean he didn't completely sweep me off my feet!
5 year anniversary was July 4, 2021, and we started the day by going to the LA food festival. We're total foodies and love discovering and discussing new flavors and experiences. After that we made our way back down towards the beach where we had parked the car at our favorite spot to watch the fireworks. Wandered around my hometown for a couple hours + drank at a crappy tiki bar we go to every year, until the fireworks show at which point he set up a really sweet little vignette in the back of his hatchback; blankets, pillows, string lights, and light diffraction glasses that made every light look like a heart (that part was my cheesy idea, lol). Just before the finale he delivered a really sweet monologue about how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and showed me the ring we had designed together and that I had been DYING to see! Our Somalia friend had given him a nice bottle of champagne to pop and we drank it while we finished watching the show.
End of the night, he got food poisoning from the pineapple juice at the crappy tiki bar! 😅 Nothing ever goes to plan, but that's part of what I love about us. We roll with the punches and we do it together no matter what :)
Brilliant Earth is definitely on the more expensive side, and there’s a good chance their “conflict-free” mined diamonds are not as ethically mined as they claim . If you’re looking for lab diamonds, BE definitely marks up. I’d recommend Clean Origin, Blue Nile, or a local jeweler. Etsy is great too.
In short, lab diamonds can be found much cheaper, and a lab diamond is really the only fool-proof way to guarantee the stone is conflict-free.
As someone who is doing a lot of ring shopping virtually — I’d recommend buying a cheap band with no stone, or using an existing one that you have, and take a photo with that on.
Then use a site like https://www.remove.bg/ to remove the background from photos of the stone shapes you’re considering.
Then go into Google Slides or PowerPoint and “try on” the stone shapes! Obviously you’ll have to do some measuring and photo resizing to get a sense of finger coverage, but honestly the effect is pretty accurate.
Also, look into places like Frank Darling that make resin/wax models of rings before making the real thing. That way you can try it on without the risk of hating a diamond shape you thought you’d like! It’s really hard to know what you’ll like until you see it on your own hand.
If she went to a professional jeweler I’d go based on what they sized her as. They likely chose the best size for comfort/based on her preference. Some people prefer rings that fit on the loose side some prefer snug so they don’t spin.
Another option that I used to make sure my ring size was correct before we got my e-ring was these sizers . They were relatively accurate but won’t really help with half sizes too much.
I have and love these - cut to fit whatever difference you need, remove when hands swell and ring fits again. No permanent change and easily put on and off!
Yeah they are CZ :) they look pretty realistic but they fade fast. Check out Cuteshop
I found a ring on Amazon almost identical to my dream e ring. It’s a cushion with a double halo, half pave band. It’s under $20 for the set (came with a pave band)

Just one example - many styles! You can pop it on after it gets over your knuckle too I’m sure!
I bought these because I have the same issue. They stay on and are easily replaced. I’m hoping to do something more permanent but want to see how my ring fits in the summer first.
