> I tried uMatrix but I don't know how to configure it (it blocks things that I actually need) so if you have any advices on how to configure it I would really appreciate.
Read the Wiki, there's plenty of instructions on how to configure it there.
https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix/wiki
If you get it to work, you won't be needing NoScript. >I don't know whether I need disconnect in conjunction with ublock origins, as I've noticed the latter already has basic disconnect list.
No, you don't. Uninstall it. >Do I need something else? Are there unnecessary addons? Are there better alternatives to what I installed? Thanks for suggestions!
If you're really concerned about privacy, then it would be beneficial to install Self Destructing Cookies to get rid of unnecessary cookies, as well as blocking third party cookies globally, RefControl to forge referrers (may break some websites, but you can easily disable it for them), BetterPrivacy to delete LSOs, Clean Links to clear the links that may send feedback to the website you are coming from and UAControl to fake your useragent. It is also important to disable certain features of the browser, such as GeoLocation, Beacon, Safebrowsing, Healthreport and others. Needless to say that all of this is useless if you have a unique IP and don't use a VPN or if you use Google services and social networks such as Facebook.
Assuming I understand what RIP and Yarip do (I just read a bit, but I've never used either), it sounds like uBlock Origin may be a fit. It gained HTML filtering in the Release Candidates for the latest version:
You could restart with addons disabled (safe-mode), and try from there. Alternatively, could try running malwarebytes (use the free version). If it is adware, malwarebytes generally picks it up (it did at least when something similar happened to me a while ago when I was using Chrome).
For future refrence, try [the mycroft project]. mycroft has lots more content and is user generated.
YT Center has been buggy because youtube is constantly changing their functionality. The script makers don't make any money and find themselves slaving away at the project. My fix was to install the development build: https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/wiki/Developer-Version
You can set that script to autoload videos and stop autoplay. Personally I configure the script to do that as opposed to installing other addons. YT Center doesn't play well with other functionality scripts.
Duplicate tabs closer and power close. Duplicate tabs closer is great because you just click it and it closes all duplicate tabs. With power close you just type in a keyword and it closes all tabs with that string of characters in the address bar.
My new tabs is set to speeddial so I just click power close and type in 'speeddial' hit enter and every speeddial new tab page is closed. Alternatively I can just hit the duplicate tabs button but this is not as precise a solution as you asked for.

You might also try a clipboard manager that has a persistent history. I use ClipX with the Stickies plugin for Windows and Parcellite for Linux (both freeware) for example, but there are loads of alternatives. Some even have network sync.
I highly recommend Slide. It has a night theme as well, you can set it up to be automatic, and is beautiful with tons of options.
You can achieve something pretty similar to this using the Todoist for Firefox add-on, you can save a website as a task and add notes to it. Organizationally, there are a lot of different ways you could structure it. You can subordinate tasks under other tasks (as a subtask) or under a project (which itself can be a subproject to a larger one). Projects can also be internally divided into sections, which you could use to organize bookmark tasks under different headings as well. You can also add tags to individual tasks (eg #work, #history, #recipe), and mix and match that with any of the above.
I also want to take the opportunity to plug Todoist as a really excellent todo manager, scheduler, etc. It would work well for remembering websites or anything else you want to throw into a list, but it’s also so much more powerful than that. It’s great for todos and reminders, but also for structuring and tracking larger projects and goals. If you’re tinkerer, it also has a ton of powerful app integrations beyond just Firefox, and it also offers some pretty powerful APIs for developers so you can build your own apps or integrations for Todoist if it’s missing something you want.
There is definitely a little bit of a learning curve because it can do so much, but it’s 100% worth it imo. The basic features alone make it a really good todo app and organizer, but if you start taking advantage of the more powerful features it can do so much. I know this sounds dramatic, but it literally changed my life for the better.
Yes this is possible. I did this for Windows. It makes the mic go straight to the headset - https://github.com/Noitidart/ostypes_playground/tree/audio-capture - I followed this tutorial - http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/31022/A-simple-console-audio-input-device-reader
This can be done with Firefox. You have a very personal need. I don't know if anyone would be willing to get into that code. You have this need though, it would be awesome if you can take the code there and create a public release out of it.
I was looking at the LocalCDN Wiki at: https://codeberg.org/nobody/LocalCDN/wiki
He has his own collection of extensions for Android listed in section 13. The two that I am interested in are: Skip Redirect and Temporary Containers. Do you have any information on them working on Android?
Thanks.
Step one: delete Facebook account, there's no legit reason for keeping that pile of shit around. 'but my friends are still...', no!
Step two: install Facebook container add-on, this block everything Facebook on any site.
This add-on has an option to grey out inactive tabs (it says Windows, I'm assuming tabs), although I haven't seen it in action myself. Maybe I haven't noticed (installed it a few days ago). I got the add-on for the theme features though.
I hope it helps!
Not an expert on XSS.
Of course any site blocked by uMatrix can not do anything - but as far I understand it it can help if a white-listed Site has a malicious script:

Sadly my English is not perfect but I hope I got that right...
You could use uMatrix (click me), allow everything (for starters), and then disallow connections to e.g. towardstelephone on a global scale.
Edit: Basic tutorial (click me)
The old Scrapbook addon used to be able to do this, but I don't think it's possible currently within Firefox since they killed all the old addons. I'd probably use HTTrack (a standalone program, available for Windows or Linux) for this sort of thing.
I use Dark reader, agree it has the option turned on by default, didn't find a way to turn it off by default but there is many option or you can contact the devs, they seems to be very active
You can still use Dark Reader, but in Static mode.
@-moz-document { ... }
.Here is some info about custom CSS https://darkreader.org/blog/stylish/
Do you want the addon to just remove hyperlinks from an entire page, it might cause issues with page formatting. Alternative could be remove the url from hyperlink. In case if you definitely want to remove hyperlinks I suggest you to do it in some reader mode in some service like pocket.
This open source PDF printer has some useful features for combining printouts and/or autosaving PDFs if you are doing things in bulk and don't want to have to name everything as you go.
I found this ditto clipboard manager. I'll give it a try.
The problem with clipboard managers is they collect every copy action.
Whereas I need only need one copied text action.
Thank you.
If you are thinking towards an app like Evernote, might I suggest Joplin (https://joplinapp.org). It's open source, does what Evernote does, cross platform compatibility, and has a FireFox extension called WebClipper (https://joplinapp.org/clipper)
> Disable WebRTC
I already had that disabled manually. Thank you for the suggestion though. For anyone else that would rather just disable it manually:
Enter "about:config" in the address bar and press enter
Press the button "I'll be careful, I promise!"
Type in "media.peerconnection.enabled" in the search bar (there should be only one entry)
Right-click the entry choose "Toggle", the column "Value" should now be "false"

> Still use NoScript to counter Cross-Site Scripting. Make sure to set it up probably so i does not interfere with uMatrix.
Does uMatrix not prevent XSS with a Deny-All/Accept Exceptionally ruleset?
> Get a VPN.
I've been using IVPN for around two years. Another great suggestion though.
Res doesn't officially support android versions of firefox. For android, I use "reddit is fun" I too need the dark themes, It's on the google play store.
