Thank you all, your support would be greatly appreciated!
Ok. We're settling on VK. I'm not quite sure how things work there so I'll have to learn a few things haha but you can follow us already there for updates!

Hey there,
It took me some time to try and find it again but I finally got it, here you go : https://vk.com/video-7016284_163710564
Happy watching~
Translation: /u/DatCheesus aka DCSUBS
Timing/Typesetting: /u/BQ00
I had to do some retiming because I used a different source. There are some minor visual problems with some of the on-screen text, but I was too lazy to fix them.
BQ00 did an awesome job with the original source. Perfect timing and typesetting.
And DatCheesus as well with the translation.
I used this as the raw video:
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5zboo6
And here is the retimed .ass file if anyone wants to fix it:
https://mega.nz/#!QeRgCIjB!bAn8KM0mwlNGrSHP-DB2jDaUV6e77nZXPFSN8EhLBPE
I like that story too! That's the costume talk segment which doesn't often get translated because it's a lot of dialogs.
Letter Reading is a fun and long costume talk where they find a letter that Tanaka wrote to Endo when they first started out (https://vk.com/videos-122092659?z=video-122092659_456239051).
Hamada's Trip to Enoshima is not really the same thing but they are in the same set and the five are talking.
Can't remember which episode it was but there's one where they talk about the first time Matsumoto and Hosei met Tanaka who was too nervous to talk at all.
There are probably more that I'm just not thinking of at the moment!
There is. I can't speak for the subs or anything such as that but I do remember seeing this video ages ago and it was of better quality. I didn't upload this or anything, but a better quality (at least video) can be found here.
I've watched the series and can confirm he doesn't actually say anything during the clip and does kinda give a quiet soft laugh/ huff
Episode here, the clip is at 19:20 (requires an account tho) : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=ashita&z=video-7016284_456239432%2Fclub7016284
Have you seen Hibana: Spark on Netflix? It is great! Really insightful in what goes into Manzai. It also explores one character's struggle with staying true to his art and failing, or pandering to the audience to be successful. It's an emotional roller coaster. It swings from funny to sad to awkward to heartwarming.
About the show you posted, I couldn't get into it due to how obnoxious the host is.
The software most commonly used is AegiSub. A rudimentary tutorial can be found here. I think a sort of mercenary typesetting page on this sub would be a great addition! Typesetting is one of the worst parts of subbing and I know I've been trying to find the time to work on some videos. Most subbers prefer that you put in some type for each person's speech, with random characters/words as placeholders for the eventual translated material.
So basically when Matsumoto talks, you can just put, "BLAHBLAHBLAH" in red text and when Hamada talks you put, "KYAKYAKYA" in blue text.
Lets get more material subbed!
if you're in the US, here's the amazon com link
Ha, funny thing - Matsumoto created his twitter account in Lincoln episode cca 5 years ago and now he has second most followed account in Japan!
Rola (the female teacher in video) is fifth. Ariyoshi Hiroiki, comedian who appeared several times on Gaki, is still first.
I checked out the previous episode in the number order and it was the finale of Yamasaki's trial, which I'll link here : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=490&z=video-7016284_163957147%2Fclub7016284
Despite it not being subbed I can hear Matsumoto mention Piano for when they are calling out his punishment, leading me to assume that the haunted piano concert was punishment for his trial kinda like how Hamada had to do that gagging concert at the end of his trial as punishment.
This is a slightly better version, has the answers and a few other moments subbed

Hey, I found this one subbed on Vk :
https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=dodge&z=video-7016284_164812992%2Fclub7016284
It's the only one on there so I'm not sure about the three parts thing you mentioned unless they were different games or they were split up into three parts in the previous links but either way happy watching!
There were a couple of these, #815 and #917 - 918, part of the Gaki Team Challenges series. Probably more likely 815 due to the others being a two-parter. https://vk.com/videos-7016284?section=album_45056296
If you're mostly in it for the Rola, she makes the rounds on a lot of shows. She's been on a few of the Batsu games.
Here's her on Mechaggington (soft subs, you'll have to turn them on): https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x292t99
I managed to get a file hardsubbed with ffmpeg.
Now, I did this with the Terminal, so hopefully you have some experience with it. Here's what I did:
$ cd "(path to directory with .ass and the raw here)"
# Install Homebrew (https://brew.sh) $ ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
# Install ffmpeg $ brew install ffmpeg --with-libass --with-fontconfig --with-freetype
# Install fontconfig -- This may not be necessary?? brew install fontconfig
# Set fontconfig path so ffmpeg can find fonts.conf echo "export FONTCONFIG_PATH=/opt/X11/lib/X11/fontconfig" >> ~/.bash_profile
# Close and reopen Terminal to let the last command take effect
# Convert! $ ffmpeg -i "(raw file)" -vf "ass=(subtitle file)" "(output file)"
# Example: $ ffmpeg -i "Detective Batsu [RAW].mp4" -vf ass=batsu_subtitles.ass "Detective Batsu [HARDSUB].mp4"
If you find this message:
> Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
in the conversion output, please tell me.
Just a tip:
If the video is under 25 minutes you can share a link which can be viewed without an account.
You can right click on the video and there should "Copy video link".
https://vk.com/video-7016284_164812992
or
like this (replace the "end part" here 164812992 (video id?). If is a different channel replace the 7016284 parts)
HOOOO!~
I'm delighted to say I found the Stalking Suga episode, it does not have subs but it can be watched here :
https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=319&z=video-7016284_164033082%2Fclub7016284
It starts right away and ends at about the 10 minute mark also quick warning there is some slight NSFW content that shows up at the 7:20 mark and ends at the 7:33 mark for those who don't want to see that.
Anyway happy watching. :)

There is a version on VK, which I'll link here but I'm pretty sure you'll need an account to view it but it's as easy as signing up for any other site : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=ass&z=video-7016284_164805938%2Fclub7016284
Good luck on the downloading!
The Prison School Live Action (Kangoku Gakuen) is very funny and incredibly well adapted from its Manga and Anime counterparts. I deffinetly recommend this to watch for anyone who wants a good laugh.
Edit: You can watch it here: http://www.funimation.com/shows/prison-school-drama/home
It's from episode #684 - Ryokan Memory subbed by TofuPandaSubs
Starts around 17:38 mins.
https://vk.com/video-122092659_456239017
http://tofupandas.tumblr.com/post/132672067584/shocking-confessions
You can also find it under "Other Subbed Episodes" (list will be updated eventually with the latest subbed episodes)
I found a hamada figure going for 200 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/BM-Action-Figure-Masatoshi-Hamada/dp/B0088L0TOK.
I doubt youll get the figures as a pair for less then 500 though, they seem like pretty niche collector items at the moment.
Back again, that's also on VK here just under a different title: https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=endo&z=video-7016284_456239125%2Fclub7016284
The stalking Hamada episode is available here it is not subbed unfortunately and you may require an account to access this but it's real simple : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=stalking&z=video-7016284_166628999%2Fclub7016284
However I have no idea where the Suga one could be, I didn't even know they did a Suga version but hopefully someone else has it for you, anyway happy watching.
Do you know the exact GnT episode number?
After finding the first one in the recommended videos sections of youtube by chance earlier today, I watched all the HEY!HEY!HEY! episodes with Nishikawa in one go. My jaw still hurts, I don't remember the last time I laughed this much.
Nishikawa is probably one of the few geinin who can counter Hamada's tsukkomi and spiteful remarks, that alone makes me wish he was a comedian rather than a singer.
Imagine the possibilities if he was a regular Gaki member. Within GnT Hamada is basically unrivaled, Nishikawa would balance things out.
Please be gentle with the downvotes, this is just my humble opinion after watching their feud.
Here's the one that Endo imitate Mori Shinichi.
#1245 (2015.03.08) — 2nd Itao's Lip-sync Song Show
Here Hosei imitate Amuro Namie.
#1381 (2017.11.19) - 4th Lip-sync Song Show (Part 2) NO SUB
The specific clip you are looking for is the (2016) No-Laughing Detective Agency, beginning just after the 2 hour mark. It begins 4 or so minutes into this clip, and then runs about 9 minutes into this clip. There may have been more than one on a baseball diamond but i was too lazy to check :D
We call it Dark Tanaka
And there's a worse one. When he gets forced to skydive, Tanaka punches Hamada in the arm, complains earnestly in front of the camera and puts on a bad attitude, and almost yells at the members frantically.
Edit: https://vk.com/video-7016284_171436541
6:10: the action starts. He punches Hamada and at one points slaps him. Huge no-no in the industry. I'm surprised it was filmed and broadcasted.
The main typesetting program used for Gaki is Aegisub, which comes with a manual. It's easy to learn the basics, but it has the potential to get really complicated, especially with the batsus where the subtitles have all kinds of effects thrown on them.
Sorry about that. If anyone else is having trouble, I've decided to re-post it (will keep old video up so links don't break, but can't seem to un-tick the NSFW thing on that one):
You first link seems to go to a search. Here's the post I think you meant to show.
Mega takes down links? I thought their whole point was to resist or "fight" against that kind of stuff? Do you know if it was definitely NTV (not TBS)?
Also, is it this link that supposedly went down? I tried it and I was able to download it, albeit slowly (downloading through browser, not Megasync).
Unos's list seems to be working, too (I call this list "The Source.").
I don't know what's going on anymore.
I found a few more, still looking though:
3rd ep (no sub):
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6jcgbo
https://vk.com/video-7016284_456239585
I guess the first and second eps aren't subbed either.
Thank you so much Shion! I remembered seeing this requested, went to find the post and was amazed it was a year ago, and it didn't dissapoint!
I found it a tragedy that the 'testing bonds without phones' sequels haven't been subbed yet- here are their names from a post from over a year ago:
2nd Rendezvous Game - 2016.07.24 - Episode #1314 3rd Rendezvous Game - 2016.09.18 - Episode #1322 (Part 1) 3rd Rendezvous Game - 2016.09.25 - Episode #1323? (Part 2)
EDIT: googling and I seem to have hit a jackpot for source video if ever you wanted to do this. There seem to be three rendezvous games not yet subbed https://vk.com/videos-7016284?section=album_55962763
Yeah that's true, though it's respectable viewer ratings it's still worrying to hear how they're surviving on DVD sales in the eyes of the execs. Hey all the more reason to expand the market, we're dying for original content over here! Haha there I go dreaming again.
I think anime has the same problem with Youtube takedowns, especially with how many anime are licensed abroad nowadays. But yeah it certainly seems like a lot of people get their first taste of Gaki via Youtube (Silent Library, Jimmy Onishi's English counting etc.) So it would be cool but like you say NTV just don't seem interested in reaching out...
Yeah I think being about gaming does put GCCX at an advantage since even if someone isn't familiar with the comedian Arino, they can be drawn in by watching the gameplay action. It would be nice if they were open to doing something like that with Gaki, maybe the Gaki Famicom / NES Battle episodes for example to start with, but sadly unlikely.
Ah yeah I heard the Gaki DVDs are expensive. Likewise I kinda find anime DVDs to be expensive here in the UK (we have a term "Rip Off Britain"), it makes building a collection prohibitive. But apparently we have it easy compared to the prices people pay for anime DVDs in Japan. Interestingly this article alludes to the idea anime airing late night is a factor in the higher DVD prices (whereas morning kid's shows apparently make more on merchandising), kinda sounds like Gaki. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-03-07
#1142 (2013.02.17) — Daigo (Chidori) Shichihenge
The Team Fight 15 — Seesaw The title is named as Team Fight 12, but I think it was mistyped and is ep 15, not sure though.
I do believe you need too create an account before you can browse vk. The link I can provide you with is trough my account so I don't know if it will work. Also, it could be my clumsiness....ne? So please guide me if I screw this up :) https://vk.com/videos-14414281?section=album_50560054
Aegisub is the free software that many subbing groups use. You can watch Youtube videos on how to time but a timer basically marks when a subtitle should start to when it stops along with font color. The font color thing is really easy cause the batsu games have presets for fonts so you only have to select from a drop down. More advanced things can also be done. When the translator gets the file they simply have to fill out their translation. To complete the process after the translators the quality checkers come in.
Once you get comfortable with the idea you can reach out to one of the groups that do translations and they will be more than happy to take you in and are often very helpful if you have questions.
Not on Mac myself but Avidemux seems to have a Mac version available:
Drag and drop raw onto Avidemux window to open
Set Video Output to something like x264 or xvid and click Filters
Select Subtitles then double-click on SSA/ASS/SRT, pick the subtitle file, OK, Close when loaded in to Active Filters column
Audio Output can be left at Copy or MP3 Lame if there are sync issues
Output format MP4
Save the video
I also use FFMPEG to hardsub which has a Mac version but I only know how to do commands via Windows for it.
Thanks for the tip. I don't use Google Translate too much, but it's always great to have another resource.
Btw, if you're interested. I've found that Kanjitomo seems to be pretty good. Best I've found so far, dictionary-wise. Really helps with the manga, heh.
Edit: Ah, that's it. I entered "意外にしまぱん" no wonder we got different results.
There is this torrent file that I used 2 years ago to get most of the old ones. It's probably dead though. It also splits the files by disc but it's as close as you'll get.
It's available on Amazon Japan, I've been able to get books shipped to the UK in the past so there may not be shipping restrictions.
https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%A5%87%E8%B7%A1-%E5%B1%B1%E5%B4%8E-%E9%82%A6%E6%AD%A3/dp/4860102576
Yeah, any good VPN you're going to have to pay for but it's worth it honestly. I personally use Private Internet Access and while it's based in the U.S. they seem to be pretty reputable. Speeds are pretty decent too. It's only $40 a year as well.
Hahaha, they made a point to bring attention to them crouching in the rain on the music memory drive episode. I can't find the subbed link anymore, but here's the raw: https://vk.com/video-7016284_171041448
They're there whenever it's not convenient to set up or mount a sign for shoots.
sometime they do.. you can see it in the early of this video.. https://vk.com/videos-14414281?z=video-14414281_163534066.. the video also tell us with a caption that the sign holder are doing that job for decades!
Unfortunately I don't think the other episodes have been subbed however this one I'm pretty sure follows the same concept with Downtown trying to cheat through all the games and is subbed, link here : https://vk.com/video-7016284_159231929
Hope it's what you're looking for. :)
Hi, VK does have a copy of that episode and I would say it has pretty decent quality however it is not subbed as I'm pretty certain this episode has never been subbed before. Here's the link for the video : https://vk.com/video-7016284_163954977
Hope that helped, happy watching. :)
Unfortunately yes it has been taken down from youtube, I was trying to find it again myself and I found it here: https://vk.com/video-7016284_159829476
Enjoy watching probably one of the best Gaki episodes (IMO) :)
It is a really good series and the episode I used when I was referencing for this was from the VK site. They all seem to be some what better quality then the dailymotion links so I'll put the link for this particular episode but VK does actually have all the 5 Rangei episodes but it'll be easier just to get an account. Link: https://vk.com/video-7016284_456239477
Hi if you're referring to the kissing episode of the cosplay bus tour you can use this link here but it will require a VK account : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=cosplay&z=video-7016284_163694604%2Fpl_-7016284_37091251
Happy watching~
I did a search for "ダウンタウン・ s.h.figuarts" and came up with these links: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/dp/B0B5RBL5VX/ref=sr_1_2?crid=7JAY8NAR0JHB&keywords=%E3%83%80%E3%82%A6%E3%83%B3%E3%82%BF%E3%82%A6%E3%83%B3%E3%83%BB+s.h.figuarts&qid=1667338008&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjY0IiwicXNhIjoiMC4wMCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%...
Hope they still work!
Hello, looks like I'm gonna have to resort to using FFMPEG. However, I can't seem to understand this step you provided: "Get a fontconfig file so you don't get a font error http://superuser.com/questions/794014/ffmpeg-ass-filter-not-working/839422#839422"
I don't know which one to copy and where to paste. I'm quite a pc noob so, I'm very sorry to bother you with this. And by the way, if I just use the default settings of the video, will the size of the output get larger? 'Cause you know, adding subs increases frame rate and so. Just want to make sure.
I could only find it here on VK : https://vk.com/videos-7016284?section=album_53405426&z=video-7016284_168861663%2Fclub7016284%2Fpl_-7016284_53405426
It's unfortunately not subbed however some segments don't need them to be understood such as the illustrated segments (my favourite parts of the series) , some of the video evidence and the great punishment at the end anyway happy watching. :)
GnT #1283 (2015.12.06) - Animal Acting Contest. In this one they all act as animals and the host is Tanaka, I mean it's probably not what you want, but still animal and Tanaka related. Pretty sure there isn't a subbed version though
oh weird :0 hm try this link https://vk.com/videos-7016284?q=friendly%20downtown , I can't remember if you need an account to watch them but making one is no big deal and it has subbed friendly downtown and unsubbed friendly downtown along with a whole collection of other episodes so it's worth the signing up.
Avidemux works great for me, haven't had too many problems with it not rendering the text right, I use Aegisub and .ass files.
I think the FFmpeg command I used was along the lines of this one I had researched. As that thread suggests, I had also copy pasted font info from here into Notepad, saved as font.conf and created a folder called "fonts" in FFmpeg's bin folder to put it into (I didn't do the environmental variables stuff).
You're better off just downloading the torrent. This one's still got a few seeds.
I'm guessing it'll be added to The Silent Library archive once it gets subbed. I keep hearing it's not as "good" as Documental, but it still sounds pretty damn entertaining in its own right. The other thing people say is that it's not necessary to watch with subs since there's not a lot of dialogue. I feel like that should be even more motivation for someone to take it on, since it's probably not very labor-intensive. Also, curiously, nobody's capped the second season yet. Like all the international Last One Laughing series, I feel like it's both underrated and niche.
So this is unfortunate, but I don't actually have any good suggestions for softsub playback on Chrome OS. I didn't realize how much of a problem this was going to be, tbh; I'm trying to think of a good solution. Unless you can install android apps, Chrome OS doesn't have any decent video players.
For the moment, there is a version on nyaa that looks like someone might have burned the subs in, which should work well for you: https://nyaa.si/view/1346891
There are some weird interactions.
Try this:
~~Click on any Gaki episode (no episodes longer than 25 min) and than try the Mayo episode again.~~
Edit: Wait, doesn't work...
Here in the UK we even have comedy panel shows on BBC where they are just using video conferencing.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000gxv4/have-i-got-news-for-you-series-59-episode-1
I have no idea why the downvotes. It is shocking going from every show being a Skype conference on TV to seeing this?
Kodi works just fine on a fire stick.
Find the "Downloader" app in the store, go to kodi.tv/download in the app and download the version for 32 bit arm/android. Oh, and bookmark the kodi URL for future updates.
To update, do the exact same thing. It updates the app and keeps all your settings.
DeepL Translator works way better than Google Translate, especially when it comes to Japanese.
For instance, Matsumoto posted on Twitter: >最近みなさんがイライラしているなーって感じます。こういう時こそ【まあまあ】の気持ちを持ちましょう。 まあまあまあまあ…
Google Translate: >I feel like you are getting irritated lately. Let's have a feeling of "OK" at such times. Okay so so ...
DeepL Translator: >Lately, I've been feeling that everyone is getting frustrated. This is the time when you should have a "so-so" feeling. Well, well, well...
Another example from a tweet from Hosei: >次女も参戦あとは息子と嫁
Google Translate: >After the second daughter also participated in the war, her son and wife
DeepL Translator: >My second daughter also participated in the tournament, then my son and my wife.
Here is Documental S0 1 till 7 ;-) https://nyaa.si/?f=0&c=0_0&q=documental Now we need somebody who likes to sub ;-) ;-) ;-) Pleeeaaasseee
Awesome work, i released bunch of new bluray remux of batsu game if you wanna keep them safe in your library with english + french soft subs :) https://nyaa.si/user/aymeric000

Season 1-2-3 subbed and all 7 seasons here for anyone wondering.
I would love if someone decided to translate the rest, because waiting for amazon is gonna be very long! Specially knowing season 4 is the worst and I wanna understand the seasons with Hollywood Zakoshisyoh.

edit: Season 6 is the worst. Season 4 is the second worst.
Here is the link:
I guess /u/DatCheesus wanted to add the video download to the post, but accidentally overwrote the other link.
As Shamaenei posted a link of "Life of Pteranodon". There are more in "3rd stroll to meet celebrities" (around 10 mins): https://vk.com/videos-7016284?z=video-7016284_171817105%2Fclub7016284%2Fpl_-7016284_-2 (If you can't watch it, you need to register first.)
XD Yeah, I notice that too. Those where always my cup of tea. When they used to start in the "Green Room", you can expect almost anything. My other favorites where this one about Heipo and this one about Tanaka. I'm putting the links just in case you don't know about them.
I have no idea what's going on now. I thought I've always that, but maybe not. Right now, getting links from the My Videos page gives the link like
https://vk.com/video368797805_456239027
Clicking it and playing it, I guess that's the expanded player, and looking at the URL, I see
https://vk.com/video?z=video368797805_456239027%2Fpl_cat_updates
I have no clue what's going on, lol.
I could only find 2 of 3 parts on vk.com, but you need to have a vk account to watch them.
I haven't found other links.

Documental is essentially a competition with Matsumoto as its host, pitting a group of Japanese (non-Gaki) comedians against each other in a no-laughing game. It's a lot more vulgar and risque than Gaki, hence why it's on a streaming platform like Amazon as opposed to national TV.
It's a lot of fun, but not for the faint of heart. If you know how to use torrents, look them up on nyaa.si and if you don't, learn how to use torrents.
Looking at the code for Team Gaki's own streaming videos (not the dailymotion ones but the ones on http://stream.teamgaki.com ) I think what Rich does is host the videos on their own server and then use Javascript http://videojs.com/ to embed the videos on a web page. But in that instance you're paying for the bandwidth yourself rather than relying on free services like VK etc.
Thanks for putting this list together short_lurker. I was able to watch some episodes that I missed. :)
The kiki mayo part 1 is down though, however here's a vk.com mirror for the whole episode (subbed) if anyone's looking for that.
I don't know if this is the exact stuff he drinks, but Amazon gave me this:
The ingredients are on the second image, and half are saying it works, the other say it doesn't.
Good luck.
If you consider purchasing legally, you can either from Amazon Japan. Or from other websites by typing シュレック買う.
If you just want to want to watch it legally, it may be available on streaming platforms (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu...), they offer different languages and subtitles for their products, but you may have to use a VPN to watch from Japan in order to see Japanese products.
If you don't care about law, you can probably find it on some obscure torrent/streaming sites.
Apparently (プティ・エトワールのテーマ)[https://www.amazon.co.jp/「マイ・リトル・シェフ」オリジナル・サウンドトラック-窪田ミナ-CCCD-TVサントラ/dp/B00006IIM8] by Mina Kubota, a Japanese TV drama "my little chef" sound track. If you look at the amazon link I pasted you can try small bit of the song from there - the first one. Couldn't find on youtube :(
Re-ment is a brand that you can buy on Amazon, they make tiny curry.
Also sold to Amazon Japan. This may be easier for foreigners to buy here.
Thanks for this. Any chance you'd be willing to take a crack at ripping Uchimura Summers? It's available with English subs on Prime as well.
