They are expensive, but I put these sights on my 43X and it made a world of difference for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018IP3QCM/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Still not my favorite gun to shoot - the thinner grip with my larger hand makes it a little awkward to get a good grip and a quality trigger pull, but the slimness and reliability make it worth being a solid carry choice anyway. Sights that are bright and rapid to acquire in all conditions are a must. The stock glock sights leave a lot to be desired.

I sent you the amazon link instead of the TruGlo site because they are literally 65 bucks cheaper there if you decide to get an upgrade.
Do it! Glock sights are actually pretty good stock. But I bought one set, and fell in love.
Just noticed that I had the XR’s selected. I’ve got the regular ones. I’ve shot with the XR’s and the front sight is just a little bit more narrow. So you can, theoretically, shoot at further distances more accurately. I didn’t feel like it made much difference.
Nice choice by the way.
no, don't do it! Just buy a set of picks on Amazon - plastic, brass, unobtanium - so many options
Congrats! I just picked up a Glock 31 myself about a month ago. Loving it so far.
For an OWB holster I got the Safariland 7378
I bought one of these from Amazon for my 43x w/ TLR6 and it's great. They have a lot of other options, probably make one for a TLR7 and red dot. Not sure

Honestly it's a really common gun so you shouldn't have any problem finding a bunch of holster choices... remember they might just say "43" and not "43x". They work for both.
This is fun, google image search No Firearms Sign

Thats the first time I’ve seen a TLR-6 mounted to a full sized frame. I guess that technically works. Might be a good way to use a light on the Lipseys P80.
Advice: shoot small. Splatter targets are good to shoot at. 3” circle, and splatters if you hit it. Its very Pavlovian and will eventually make you able to group shots better.

If you’re planning on attaching and removing your sights multiple times or you have several jobs you’re planning on doing, you might want to pick up your own sight pusher. About a week ago I bought and used a sight pusher to install some Trijicon Suppressor Height Sights for my 17L.
If you’re curious, this is what I had used to install them. Just a matter of if you feel like you’re gonna have to remove them for a future event or etc.

Exposed metal will degrade, and you are allowed to take care of your tools.
For aluminum: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072LT4HCZ
For steel: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MD1RXP9
This will "blacken" or "blue" the exposed metal, and prevent them from reacting with air or water and rusting. In all reality, its probably fine, and that isn't exactly a working part, but I would treat it and forget about it. It will always be visible unless you get it recoated like a cerakote.
I'm flat broke and my current lights are doing the job for me right now. I'm working on getting a good job right now, once that happens I'll buy only the finest surefire lights.
Curious what you think about my AR light, I got a nitecore flashlight and a mount.
The flashlight quality puts the olight to shame, and for about half the price...shows how much of a markup comes with the rail mounted design
I've done it once the hard way but I found this on Amazon and it makes the removal easier. Still not super easy, but much easier than just using a punch tool to push down the circle thingy.
I got mine (The Ender 3 Pro ) for about $200 at microcenter but I see them go on sell for less pretty often, you can probably get a good deal on Black Friday.
Thanks, but I know how, I just haven't cleaned or yet since the last range visit.

I hadn't ever thought to do that. Nice idea if your concerned about your holster pulling out during your draw. Seems like a lot going on at your uh r beltline though.
I saw on Amazon some clips that runs between the pants & belt with a "J" hook that around the bottom /outside of the belt that might work good too.

Is this something you hop to access quickly? Especially in an emergency? If so, anything electric is crap, especially if it's biometric. I highly recommend something with a fully mechanical lock in it, like the push button simplex lock.
Personally, I've absolutely loved the offerings at http://www.shotlock.com/. The only downside is that these are made to be single gun safes. That sounds like exactly what you are looking for though. For whatever reason. Costco always seems to have the best online pricing when I look to buy a new one. http://www.costco.com/ShotLock-Electronic-Handgun-Solo-Vault.product.100158540.html
edit: I see they have now started offering safes with a key override. I'd personally recommend against those until someone gets a chance to examine the lock. I've met few safes in the $100-1000 range that can't be easily opened with a paperclip jiggled around inside, which is well within the capacity of a child or thief with very basic lock picking skills.
It's not that they're picky in the sense that some guns usually work better with one brand versus another. Rather, .40 caliber and 10mm Glocks have chambers that are not fully supported. This means running hotter loads beyond SAAMI specs (i.e., bubba's reloads, ".40 +P" made in a garage when there really is no such thing, an accidentally overloaded hand load, or fouling from lead ammunition resulting in a build-up of pressure). However, any reputable manufacturer's commercial loads in SAAMI specs should be fine.
See here for a pic - note how the Glock OEM barrels leave more of the round exposed than some of the aftermarkets.
Having said all that, I do have eventual ownership of a 10mm Glock on my list, and I probably won't swap out the barrel until/unless I get into shooting reloads.
It’s a hogue grip. I highly recommend looking up a video on how to put it on before you try yourself though. The product is amazing in IMO

I have fiber on my Winchester 1300 pump, red in front/green in back (or is it the other way around?), they're ok. I have TruGlo tritium on my 23 and quite like them, a lot. Not expensive either - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BHHCDK/

Cheap little minimalist wallet from Amazon lol. I’m impressed by the product thus far (got it this week)
I got some shooting glasses that have readers built into the top so looking straight at target through middle distance it’s fine then I use the top portion for the close sight. It works ok hitting target at 25/30 feet so doing damage but not hitting bullseye. Going to try red dot at some point. People are asking about where to buy this book safe. I looked online and everyone who sold it appears to be out of stock. Amazon has it but says it’s unavailable and they don’t know when it will become available again.
In the meantime, I use this for the same purpose: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01DKINC4E
It’s a bit more subtle. Blends in totally on my bookshelf. It comes with a combination lock but you don’t have to actually lock it if you want faster access. It really does look like a real dictionary unless you pick it up and realize it isn’t as heavy as it should be. But I keep it on a bookshelf in my house and no one has ever even noticed it.
Thank you ✊🏽I bought this one off Amazon and it fits perfect.

I can’t say I have the EXACT setup, but it’s close enough (I think). I’ve got a G45 MOS with the CHPWS V4 MIL/LEO plate and 407c V2, so essentially the same slide-wise. I’ve got these irons on mine, and they work great. They’re a lower co-witness, the rears are black and the front is green/white glo. They don’t interfere at all with the dot, but are still good to go if the dot should go out. Hope that helps a little.
Some others have mentioned the sight adjustment tool I ordered
https://www.amazon.com/NcSTAR-VTUPRS-Universal-Pistol-Sight/dp/B01HU4NNDE/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ncstar+sight+pusher&qid=1606144911&sprefix=ncstar+&sr=8-3 Was that one, unfortunately after my glock hit the floor it almost knocked my rear sight out, also my buddies rear sight from months of edc was not in line anymore. Used that tool to install trijicon night sights and replace mine, as well as fix his sights.
If you get into replacing front sight or slide and mag plates there’s also a tool kit
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07QN9R2L9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
That does all the above.
However you can usually go to your local gun shop and they can adjust your sights for about 25 bucks.

Okay so my recommendation is not on your radar, but I've been using a blade tech iwb adjustable holster. I went from a crossbreed style holster. Honestly the 42/43 can be hindered from too much holster. I personally like the holster because I can switch it from appendix/4 o'clock holster to small of the back to weak side cross draw. The holster is cheap on Amazon. It's sturdy and you can mess with it a lot. Very good tension and I'm confident with the positive control it has on my pistol, but I know I can draw it clean. Which version of the TLR-3 is that? I see three on Amazon; one with Rail Locating Keys, USP compact clamp. and USP full clamp.

Best bang for your buck sight imo, this is your first purchase no matter which company you pick.
Ammo, obviously, in bulk
Flashlight, TLR-HL
Nothing else I could consider a "must have", you can even go without a light, but if you have an AR, thats your first purchase.
Talon grips are a nice budget comfort add
An extended mag release is also nice but not a necessity. Keep it simple if these are to protect your life, the more intricate mods you do the less reliable the gun becomes

The little metal square on the left side is the slide catch. The empty magazine is built with a plastic piece that pushes up on the inside of the slide catch lifting it up to grab the slide and hold it in place. When rounds are in the magazine that piece of plastic is at the bottom of the magazine and that location is empty air next to the round. This keeps the slide catch from lifting and allows the slide to move forward and back until the last round is fired.
Common reasons and locations of rounds on target.
Tips:
Every new shooter at the range: shoot at target as far away as possible (75 feet usually), and is content with hitting a giant paper target anywhere not in the white, not noticing their grouping is larger than a shotgun blast.
Me: Buys 3" sticker targets. Feels I need more practice when I don't hit the red center circle at 15', 20', and 25'. Curses madly (Pavlovian response to splatter effect) when I hit outside the 3" sticker.
My advice to new shooters: shoot consistently small and close (3yrds if you need to). Only move target back in distance when you feel you can consistently hit the target. If you can't group at 9, 12, or 15ft, you definitely won't be able to group at 25ft or 75ft.
I like the Yeti.
I don't mind the gun, nor do I really have an issue with the backplate.
But man, you upgraded all the wrong parts first.
Here, it's not red, but from the picture reviews, it looks pretty close.

I bought this for my bed side drawer: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004FO37AC/ref=pe_385040_121528360_TE_dp_1
no complaints, as long as you follows the instructions you'll set up fine. Although they did forget to include bolts in there I had to go to Lowes to get some bolts to secure it in the drawer. The customer service did get back to me after 2 days and offered to send me the bolts for free but I said thanks.
I can personally recommend this model Blade-Tech. It's lasted me awhile with little to no wear. The Kydex is damn sturdy without being overtly thick and bulky. The tension adjustment can be modified to your personal preferences.
Hello, fellow Texan.
I see a lot of recommendations for the Glock 19. I definitely agree with this. I also recommend the Glock 23. Some people aren't a big fan of .40 S&W, but I am. I actually carry a Glock 22 in the winter even though some say it is too big.
As for me, the 26 and 27 they are a little small for my hand. Not as comfortable, and not as accurate (again, for me). That being said: my cousin and one of my best friends carry the 26 almost always.
BUT, you should definitely rent guns at your local range. If you're in the Houston area I can give you some places to try out.
I use a Galco Kingtuk Holster. I also use a gun holster I found at my local gun show. Didn't have a name. Some local shop made them. I hear Alien Gear is pretty solid too.
At the end of the day it's a choice between power, capacity, and personal preference. Good luck!
Nope on the gloves though. You need <strong>these gloves</strong> with that setup.
Get a laser training round for dryfire practice. They are a laser bore sight that only lights up for a second or two after the firing pin hits the button on the back. They also dont have a rim for the extractor to grab onto, so you can just keep racking the slide and firing.
Practicing with one, you can just aim at a spot on the wall, and the laser will light up for a second where you are aiming. At first, you will clearly see that you are dragging the laser across the wall in the moments after a shot, but as you practice with it, you will become more consistent in keeping the gun steady.

Although I do not clean, I do lubricate them when they are dry or about every 500 rounds, this is the oil I use and it's not conventional gun oil, its slick and does not cause the gun to get sluggish: https://www.amazon.com/Krylon-20009TF-Products-Tri-Flow-Lubricant/dp/B00AFEQZWS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=JSP2DM1N6E1&keywords=tri+flow+superior+lubricant&qid=1668638930&sprefix=tri+flow%2Caps%2C1011&sr=8-4

If the goal is to be able to use both, test and evaluate if your gun will be reliable with SA mags and OEM catch. The OEM catch is much cheaper than mags. Or switch the mag catch back to OEM when, or if you want to use OEM mags....with a little practice and the right tool you can make the swap in a minute or two. My preferred tool is a 90 degree mechanics pick. Like the one in this set. I use a file to make the tip more rounded to help avoid scratches and gouges.

Second tool in set. Push the mag release button in fully, the hook the mag spring and pull it out and over, then onto the mag release. Use the tool to lift the mag spring toward the backstrap to clear the "button" part. I just tried this and not gonna lie, its still a pain to move that spring, but no marring of the polymer.
You alternatively and pull the spring out with needle nose pliers once it is sitting on top of the mag release, then flip the mag release, and then re-install the spring.
If you are having this issue, a solution I found is ranger bands --get the 1" or 1.25" flattened length (I bought the medium of these recently and they are 1.5" flattened) and cut them with a razor to be 1/16th tall. Slide it down to the base of the mag extension and the rubber eats up just enough space to keep the mag from moving back and forth.
I bought a few also, they run great and hold up fine. I have one on my 320 and one on my 19. Holster wise, use this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09B2TLJH1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Can get it in different configs, works with ANY compact light. I have Olight, TLR-7, Nightstick and Sig lights and it works with all of them. The T-40X version accommodates TLR-1 types
Ignore the fact that they sell different ones for each "brand of firearm" they are all the same. I bought the Glock and Sig version and they are identical.
As for IWB, buy some Kydex sheets and buy a few holster builder parts kits from amazon and make your own... from what I hear not too hard.
I carry a 43X and a 365 so those holsters are readily available...
I downloaded this app called G sight you point your phone at a target on the wall using a tripod and you use this little laser that you shoot at the wall and your phone records your hits https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0B5B4YD6P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 my problem is recoil related because i can hit the center of a 9 in target without live ammo with live ammo I can still hit the 9 in target just not as well
The self prockaimed experts here are going to hate this but get a Blackhawk IWB Nylon holster size 6 for large autos. Your gun is not going to fall out. You will not pull the trigger somehow because it's not kydex. If you had to sprint for your life it will stay put. They're perfectly safe holsters. I doubt you are doing anything more than walking around, get in and out of vehicles, etc. It fits snug and it won't ever scratch the hell out of your slide. A police officer needs the extra security in a level 4 holster but a regular will be fine using a level 1 over 2.. And much more comfortable. Plus they are cheap you can try it if you really hate the whatever.

u/Zippy17111 this is the best way to go. Save your money and get a solid holster. You already budgeted and saved to get the gun, do it again for a good holster. I didn't learn this early enough and spent about double what a good holster costs on a bunch of crappy ones. I finally went Safariland after I mounted a weapon light. Wish I had done it sooner.
Safariland is excellent too because you can buy their QLS fork system and use one holster across multiple mounts. Thats what I do. Bought 1 holster for $$$ and a few QLS plates for $ and just move the holster to where I carry it. I've got a mid ride mount on my competition belt, a high ride mount for my normal belt, and a plate on the back of my truck's center console. Just move the one holster between those different mounts. Really helps stretch the investment in a good holster a lot further.
Lastly, if you really want to save a buck on your holster, at least get a ridged one with a thumb release rather than a finger release. Leather looks good, but can get soft with time. The number of folks who have NDed into their butt because their leather holster softened and now get inside the trigger guard during holstering is insane. Same goes for the SERPA style finger release holsters. Especially under stress, its super easy to apply too much pressure to the SERPA release and have your finger pop into the trigger guard as you draw causing an ND right into your leg.
Its discontinued now, but something like a 5.11 Thumbdrive is a decent budget option with good retention and a safe release mechanism. Not sure of any other brands that do that style though. Again, I finally saved and invested in a Safariland and haven't wanted to go shopping since.
If you are limted on funds get these things. People should offer help and not just drag you. Good luck, I have 8 years of carrying and It took a while to find what works for me.
Yep I have a callous in the center of my palm now.
When I researched this, someone used the Bob Smith Industries mid-cure epoxy. Found it on Amazon so I just used that. I'm sure any two-part epoxy would have work, though this one is noted to be longer setting for larger areas, and more "flexible". I read "flexible" as less brittle so that worked out for me.
As for the two versions, the area between the finger groves and the side OEM checkering is a smooth surface, and thats where my fingertips end up (I use large backstraps), so I prefer the dust to go most of the way up to the OEM checkering. With that being said, I prefer the big block of dust covering all three fingergrooves, verses the individual mini blocks, but both are better than the OEM checkering.
Then you’re going to want these

If the TLR7 works with the X300U, this could be an option.
I ordered from here a few weeks back, and it DID include the QLS setup as well.
I would suggest getting the extension that slides over the magazine and lengthens the grip. Those small glocks (any small gun for that matter) can be harder to control.
Pearce grip extension slides onto the bottom of the mag.
Magazine sleeves slide over the mag and provide a complete extension. I prefer this to the Pearce, but either one will help your grip and improve control.
The practice tips already posted are the best way to improve. Technique trumps accessories, but in this case accessories won’t hurt.
Not only that, but they make patterned pieces that you can use. Just an example.

Small upgrade but I like the way it looks. Butt cap for the opening at the base of the grip. Keeps dust out, but I just like it for the look of it. NDZ Performance Jentra JP6 for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P5CHAIS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

do not use an impact gun. great for cars and motorcycles, but fine hardware that's a hard no.
Do carefully apply heat and use an impact driver if you have to. I also recommend a torque wrench for putting it back together. It does not require much torque, trijicon recommends 9-12 ft/lbs but that seems excessive to me so I do 7-8 ft/lbs and the tiniest dab of blue thread locker.
Streamlight makes a TLR6 that attaches to the trigger guard. Other brands make similar lights but I hear there’s is the most reliable
