OP - it's possible that there's a third scenario that can play out regarding who refunds who and what happens. If you contact Paypal and explain that the package was marked as delivered and not delivered, they may find neither of you at fault and refund the money to you but not take it back from the seller - this is what Paypal offers to us sellers here. It's my understanding that Paypal's buyer protection kicks in and gives you your money back, and seller protection kicks in and doesn't pull money back from the seller. If USPS refuses your claim and the seller either can't or won't file one on their end (which is possible USPS said buyer had to file) it should get you a refund.
I just had this same scenario play out last week with an eBay item with me as the seller. Because it showed that I sent it out on time via a reasonable shipping method and it was marked as delivered, I was found not liable, and buyer was reimbursed by the mediating 3rd party. This worked out great for both of us and I really appreciated that service being provided to me, as USPS mistakes really hurt and in this case I didn't have a replacement to send out (also the situation w/ buyer was way sketchier for various reasons and eBay has issues with fraudulent buyers trying to scam items and refunds).
Now this doesn't really change your interaction with the seller, but it's a possible way for this to go away quickly with all parties involved being satisfied. At any rate definitely file with PP.
I'm not sure if you get insomnia with the rough mental health but I tend to. So I started having a routine of once a week, changing the bed, spraying the sheets with my favourite room spray and then having a shower (I'm not much of a bath person) where I get to use all of the nice shower gel/bath oils/whipped soap that I normally hoarde for fear of them running out, then after that curl up in bed with a nice hot drink and a good book and avoid any screen time. It helps me to take a break from the world for a bit and there is something about fresh sheets that helps me sleep a bit better. I don't know if you read, but this book at least really made me laugh when I was at one of my lowest points, Furiously Happy
I think it's only for orders placed after November... I think it's the 15th?
Edit - November 18, 2014.
Thank you so much for the kind words! :)
/r/RazzberryPi makes a lot of important points. What's sad about any business is the way word of mouth works. If you have a great experience and tell your friend, it may reach 2 other people from that source..and if you have a truly bad experience it reaches around 10.
With that, bad brand owners really make consumers very leery of ALL brand owners. As long as you do your research about a company however, it's much easier to weed out the good from the bad.
The amount of knowledge you glean from these brand owners really is an amazingly untapped resource that you just DON'T get from mainstream bigger brands. You can't discuss allergy alternatives, color recommendations, and any other manner of topics with big brands like you can with indies.
For example just talking to Jessica from Little Sparrow, you can pick up right away the care she puts into her products...and I have to agree with her about Ellie as well. She has so much ingredient knowledge packed in that brain of hers, I feel it's safe to say she's probably forgotten more about how ingredients work together than most people ever bother to learn. It's a real treat being able to talk and discuss things with other brand owners.
Can I just real quick post about my love of remote wifi enabled switches? As the winter is coming on hard here in the PNW, this is the time I start using my space heater a LOT in my tiny house. I've got this insanely cheap little device... It's just an on/off switch, but it's also connected to my wifi. That means that I can use an app and turn my heater on from UNDER THE COVERS LIKE A CIVILIZED BEING! And from my car! As I drive home! So my house is warm! This is the smart plug: https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-HS100-Required-Google-Assistant/dp/B0178IC734/ref=sr_1_5?s=lamps-light&ie=UTF8&qid=1543841310&sr=1-5&keywords=tp+link+smart+plug If this sounds good to you, you'll need a space heater with a mechanical on/off switch, which are becoming a little rare... The smart plug can only turn power off and on, so your heater has to be in the 'on' position all the time. This is the one I've got. It won some sort of best of award on Wirecutter for small space heaters: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TKDQ5C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Both of them together are about $35. I am warm. That is all.
Shiro: My first indie product. I have a buy list that as soon as I have a new job I will be placing an order that will give me more eye shadow than I will ever know what to do with. The only thing I hate is that I got in to her products only recently and missed out on the Portal line and the Nightmare Before Christmas line as well.
On the "and more" side: Beastly Beverages. They make awesome teas and they are fandom themed. I just ordered my friend a birthday gift from their Supernatural line and I need to get some more of the Sherlock themed teas when the shop opens back up again.
Also: The Soap MARKET (Link here . I've never ordered from them but I do have some of their products given to me as gifts and they are amazing.
That's against Etsy's TOS, and you can report the shop.
Also, this isn't new. Resellers are an ongoing and constant problem on Etsy. There used to exist a website/blog, Regretsy, which chronicled all the ridiculous and terrible things on Etsy (Example being Edward Cullen REUSABLE MAXIPADS) and would often post "compare and save" lists showing Etsy listings and their much cheaper identical listings on other sites such as ebay.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any cached versions of these posts but theres discussion here in etsy forums.
Link for those who might be interested! It’s out of stock now, but it was before I ordered, too, so I’m sure it will be back!
Reposting this from a nested comment so it is it's own response. Feel free to delete if this is not OK!
Hi there, Marketing Director here. MBA, executive, 15 years experience, the whole 9 yards.
There are actual ongoing legal discussions about this. Here is a good breakdown: https://later.com/blog/user-generated-content-rules/
Money quote: "...while the legality around reposting UGC remains a gray area, there are enough laws and regulations in place to protect intellectual property and copyright infringement to warrant some caution. With this in mind, correctly reposting UGC is about asking for permission, and giving credit where credit is due. Simply put, you need to make sure you’re honoring the creator’s work and not “stealing” content for your own marketing purposes."
And as with anything, there is "what can I get away with" (a lot) and "what is the right thing to do". As a business owner, if you respect your customers, asking for permission is the right thing.
An example, I do photoshoots and I frequently credit which makeup etc I use, especially indie providers. I was blown away by some makeup from Dragun Beauty and included one of my photoshoot pics in that review. They reached out to me to ask if it was ok if they 1) used the image, slightly altered (and showed me ahead of time) and 2) if it was ok to post on their IG channel with my review and what was my handle so they could tag me.
This is the right way to approach this, if you want a positive, long-term, relationship with customers. And ethics aside, you could be inviting legal issues - and why would you do that? It's so easy to do the right thing.
For my samples, I store them in this handy ammo case from Amazon. I think another IMAM user originally suggested it and I'm so glad they did! It's like $3 or $4 dollars and holds 100 1mL vials, perfectly.
For my full sizes, I store them upright on a shelf in my vanity. My vanity is basically a walk in closet so no light gets in there and on my perfumes. It sort of just looks like this except I don't have a lip to keep them from falling off o.O I knock into it so many times when I'm doing my makeup and my heart skips a beat. I really need to build a new shelf -_____-
I saw the comment about wanting to be more romantic and the first thing I thought of was Hello Waffle's eyeshadow collections! I have never seen Tangled but I'm guessing it's Rapunzel-esque so it has a happy romantic ending and there's also a collection based off of Frozen. I'm guessing she wouldn't have them since Hello Waffle is rather new (actually started by a redditor - /u/SirWaffalot!) and if she's into Disney stuff that might work.
I know nothing about perfume but there are some solid perfumes from Alchimia Apothecary - also owned by /u/echobunny and I hear good things about the solid ones.
If she wears jewelry there are some indie jewelry places that I know absolutely nothing about so hopefully someone else will talk about those.
Oh! Also - I had an idea. Sometimes people put perfume in a locket and you could do that? And it could be a pretty heart shaped locket or whatever shape you choose.
I am fundamentally incapable of taking reasonable face shots today, but I got some arm swatches that I hope will be helpful! Here's the album. I swatched the Purrfect Puss (light coverage) foundation, the Flawless Feline (heavy coverage) foundation, and the Purrrfect Coverage concealer. I swatched them over black eyeliner and a blended out red cream blush.
I'll share some quick thoughts as well. The Purrrfect Puss (light coverage) foundation actually covers the majority of the redness in my face, even though it looks nearly sheer in this photo. It doesn't come close to covering any prominent acne, but it does a great job of evening out my skin tone and knocking down my undereye discoloration.
Also, your eyes aren't fooling you - the heavy coverage foundation truly is more opaque than the concealer! I just have samples of the heavy coverage base and concealer, but I will almost certainly buy a jar of the heavy foundation instead of the concealer, because it's heavier coverage and about a zillion times cheaper per ounce!
Let me know if you have any questions, or if I can take any more photos for you!
BABIES.
People are horrid. If you have a PayPal account, putting up a Donate button on whatever social media may help; people would be happy to give a couple dollars, or perhaps set up an Amazon wishlist for supplies? (my babies loved PetLac )
At least they were left where a caring family (and foster mommycat) can help.
Heartbleed hit list over at mashable.com
And that link i got from The technology subreddit
I found this list quite good to have.
While we're in this type of thread, I'm curious for opinions here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MonstaCosmetics
Someone posted swatches of their lipsticks a little while ago and they look ok, but the eyeshadows...ingredients: ultramarines. That's it? Is that like...a legit way to make eyeshadow? Or is it probably repackaging?
Uugghhhhh I feel like death. I was incredibly lucky to get free tickets to the Imagine Dragons concert last night. We didn't get to bed until 1am and now my husband and I are up for work at 5:30. I feel awful, I could never have a baby lol.
So the good (or bad?) news is - they're totally different! Plausible Walrus is actually closest to Destiny's Princess, but even those two are reasonably different. Here's the comparison photo - please note that Heart Piece was too ridiculous for my camera to handle, so /u/speakstruth's photo here is a much better representation of that particular color. But my camera got it close enough for you to see just how different it is from Plausible Walrus :)
Lol, god, I'm going to sound like an advertisement for them but I seriously love them both.
Limnit Lipsticks, and Little Sparrow Cosmetics are my current obsession. Both are still pretty new but great products and customer service!
Ahh, you got some of my favorites! Mango Sticky Rice and Honeysuckle Lemon Curd are definitely my faves of the general catalog, and my passion for Ploughman is unmatched, so happy to see other people liking it!
And if you found the cake note a bit lacking in Splendiferous, I'd recommend trying Sugar & Spite's Brewster, it's got similar notes but the cake part is MUCH stronger and the violet is just a whiff.
Augh, Haus of Gloi is all sold out of Odette, which I think might have been a great fit!
I think another nice "fresh" indie scent you might want to consider is Geisha - it has bamboo and tea, but it's undeniably fresh and clean.
Oddly enough, while "linen" might not be part of the description anywhere, Vortex (currently sold out, but there will probably be more) from Darling Clandestine to me smells similar to cool, clean laundry and fabric softener, haha.
Damn, I don't mean to rub this in your face but I just looked up the set on their etsy (it's right here in case anyone else is interested) and while the shipping is $12.00 for "Everywhere Else" for the United States it's $3.00. It seems like an amazing deal for anyone inside the US. (I'm so sorry int'l folks, I'm not trying to be mean <3!)
Thanks for sharing this review and I hope your SO loves it!
I would recommend Limnit Lipsticks, owned by /u/trinaluna, and Little Sparrow Cosmetics, owned by /u/RazzberryPi. Both are relatively new but their costumer service is great and their lip products are amazing! Little Sparrow recently released an eyeshadow collection but I haven't tried it yet.
Hi everyone, happy Sunday! Give a girl something to do whilst nursing a head cold and check out my list of things for swap/sale - will happily look at swap lists, consider bundle offers, and generally chat about perfumes!

I feel I need to note that I'm playing devils advocate here to discuss Etsy's terms; I don't agree with what this seller is doing.
But, consider this: on Etsy there are crafters who put an immense amount of detail into assembling clay, rhinestones, wire, metal, fabrics, dyes into works of art or handmade products. There are also those who take store bought beads and string them on a chain or upcycle tshirts or mix three oils together and call it makeup remover. Although many would prefer to buy from the first category, there are a ton of Etsy sellers who fall into the second list, and that is totally allowed. Think about the soap crafters on Etsy; there are those who put the time and effort into coming up with great formulas with unique pours and designs and then there are those who buy precolored soap tidbits, melt them down, and pour them into molds. I don't feel like my last example is different than taking premixed eye shadow and pressing it (as long as it is clearly disclosed that the eyeshadows were not mixed by the seller).
This is what Etsy says about services:
> "Any service that does not yield a new, tangible, physical item is not allowed (for example: tailoring, restoring or repairing an item, photographic retouching or color correction)."
(more here!) Which boils down to: is pressing premade eyeshadow more like tailoring a garment, or pouring soap? Which is why I say it falls into a gray area.
I keep my Fyrinnae samples inside a plano box that houses some of my full size perfumes. This is the one I have, I like that the compartments have various sizes and can be adjusted, the fyrinnae samples can stand up in this.
[SELL/SWAP][US TO US] PERFUME FS AND SAMPLES FROM LOTS OF HOUSES
Highlights this week: Astrid Desert Witch and Lemon Summer III samples, Astrid Whinnies FS, Possets Summer Retour samples, Death & Floral FS.
Hey friends!
I ship next day and include goodies. Shipping is quoted on an individual basis.
So my notes are fairly thorough but if you are not familiar, some brands such as Astrid, Deconstructing Eden, Lotus Noir, and Wylde Ivy do not completely fill their sample vials when ordering from them directly. Fill levels reflect how much has been used since I received them. There are some smudged labels but it is not noted; if this is important to you please feel free to ask. Any other questions are welcome as well!
Will swap for Astrid Merci 13, Stardust, Pink Tea, or Bed Made of Urchins.
Thanks so much!
Hi everyone! Looking for all amounts of Violette Market White Violet and Black Vanilla Cotton Candy. Also probably interested in other VM Cotton Candy blends!
Can buy or swap for anything here, with shipping to the UK or Ajevie's US c/o address.
Thank you!
Hi! I have very unfortunately fallen for my sample of BPAL Dorian, so would really like to try the cotton candy variant, Slime Queen. Happy to buy or swap for anything here. Also open to other Dorian variants, and Dorian itself (lol)
[US to US][Sell/Swap] [Perfume][BPAL, DC, SS, Conjure, many more]
Pretty new to posting here, although I've sold/swapped plenty on BPAL.org; I can link you to my profile over there if you want to see feedback, just ask.
$3 shipping for most things, a little more for larger items. Here is the full list with samples (way too many for this thread!) and note descriptions from BPAL, Arcana, Alkemia, Possets, SS, NAVA...etc.
Wishlist for swaps, I'm looking for FS of: BPAL The Lilies and Languors of Virtue, Possets - Samarkand, Arizona, Terra Nocturna, The Moon, Howl; Solstice Scents - White Fox, Spellbound Woods, Thornwood Thicket; Arcana - Devilish, Cakelust; Cocoa Pink - Nate EDP; House of Gloi - Cozy Sweater, Rose City
Also I have a long wishlist of samples from various indies so if you see something you like, chances are you have something I want.
Thanks for looking!
It's a shop that was recommended to me by /u/FrowningTea. She's raved about their Iced Mint Green Tea scent, so I decided to take the plunge...and went a little nuts. They don't do samples, which sucks for those who enjoy samples (but you know me, diving headfirst all the time) but their descriptions are very clear and they have good prices. I like the shop's aesthetic. Plus the owner is apparently a librarian which means we are insta-bonded (even if she doesn't it know yet).
They have an Etsy and a website. It looks like she took most of the oils down for the moment in the Etsy, and the regular site is shut for maintenance, so she must be updating something.
I will definitely post a review when I get it!
Repeating my message to /u/LittleMissBlue here!
So the good (or bad?) news is - they're totally different! Plausible Walrus is actually closest to Destiny's Princess, but even those two are reasonably different. Color wheel! I love to mess with this one. You really can't go wrong with any combinations you pull up there. You've already got some great idea of placements from /u/lightning0027, so I'm not going to go into that. That said - TRANSITION COLOR. oh my god don't forget your transition color. It's what transforms a makeup look, especially one with crazy colors from looking horrible to looking professional. It's what I forgot in high school and made me look like a panda :(
Here's some ideas - you have a bunch of great silvers and blues. I did a look once with mostly silver all over lid, blended into a deep blue outer v, with edges blended out. Blue and orange are also one of my favorite color combos. You can try red panda all over lid with midnight dreary on the lower lashline.
Edit more ideas - I also love doing pink all over eye with green lower lashline. I'll post more as I think of them haha
I bought this acrylic “marble” mini tray for my nightstand, and I put every spring/summer scent I own on it. (I keep most of my perfumes inside a vanity, so it helps to have seasonal scents close at hand.) It’s strange that summer is a bigger category for me than fall/winter, when I typically love fall/winter scents more. Hopefully, it will help me go on a low buy for the rest of the month and through August.
I’m so ready for fall, but I promised myself that I’m not going to switch them out until the fall equinox!
Rave: my Sihaya and Company Welcome to Autumnvale box arrived, and I'm fantastically pleased. It's the best package I've gotten in quite some time and I am a connoisseur of packages. ;) The necklace is really lovely and i am trying to scare up an outfit that I can wear it with this week. The Paintbox scrub smells lovely and fall-ish, and the Poesie perfume is also a perfect fall scent. The Sihaya candle is gorgeous and I am waiting for our weather to get a little cooler so I can enjoy the scent to the hilt. And reader, we ate the three caramels from The Sticky Wrapper immediately. And then I went and placed an order from that store for a 2 lb sampler (Sea Salt, Matcha, Lemon Lavender, and Cinnamon Roll flavors! And it already shipped.)
Rant: I bought these bath bombs from Amazon and they are complete duds. They smell stale in the box and there's no scent at all once they hit the water. Really one of the most disappointing purchases I've made with my fun money for a while.
Just buy empty rollerballs from Amazon, then you're not limiting your perfume choices based on packaging. Also, Firebird does rollerballs and is very reasonably priced.
I've only tried the one type so far because it was an experiment, but I bought these ones on Amazon because they were pretty. They say they are 1ml and match to Stereoplasm's 1ml sample but all of the normal vials take up less than half of the bottle. No leaks so far, though some of the lids sit a little odd. There are probably better bottles for a little cheaper.
I have this one from Amazon. Cheap and works super well. It does make my perfumes last all day and it helps combat weird skin chemistry issues (though I still wear some oil in the crooks of my elbows, typically).
If you're looking for swatches of TKB's micas, you should check out @maquillage_savant on instagram! She posts video swatches of the micas so you have a better idea of how they look.
I love experimenting with TKB's micas and my biggest advice is to just purchase the sample sizes. 6g is way larger than you think. To give you an idea, most commercial eyeshadows contain about 1.5g of product, and most full-size indies are about 2-3g of product. 6g is more than enough if it's just for personal use :)

Can buy or happy to swap for anything here!
I absolutely ADORE My Beauty Addiction for lipsticks. They come in so many amazing colours, and are really very cheap for what you get, especially if you buy the multi packs.
Someone else posted about it (so I take no credit!), but I just ordered Alkemia's Mist Becoming Rain
[Sale or Swap][US][Perfume BPAL, Possets, DC, DE, SS, etc.]
Shipping is $3 for most things. Fill levels vary since many were RIS, I'll be happy to check or take pics of anything you want specifics on. I'm happy to look at swap lists if you see something you like! Also, feel free to make me an offer if you're buying in bulk, I want to move this stuff.
Here be the goods!

I already submitted my order.^Oops!
I am super excited to get my order cause this is my first with Notoriously Morbid and I've heard such great things. I chose Sometimes My Arms Bend Back and Boe for my free minis.
Try the All Nature Face's Oak Bark Taupe Cool Toned Contouring Powder if you're looking for a NYX Taupe dupe. Silk Naturals lipstick in Crimson is their version of Russian Red.
OHWTO does a dupe of Clinique's Happy Here and they typically have an oil version if it as well as a solid.
I store my sample vials in an ammo case like this one since it fits them perfectly! I store my full sizes and larger samples on a shelf in my vanity room. My vanity room is really just more an oversized closet so no sunlight gets in and hits the perfumes!
Sorry for the lack of pictures, my Imgur app is being troublesome and keeps closing out!
I just today got Alchimia Apothecary's Oatmeal, Milk, and Honey face mask for sensitive skin! I can let you know how I like it when I use it tomorrow.
I'm looking at their selection of masks here and they have one for dry skin that you might be interested in. The shipping for the trial sizes is $8.00 USD though so I'm not sure if that's high.

Major destash with new items added every day! Lots of fall and spooky blends awoo!
You can filter/sort by house, price, and even notes!
Thanks for browsing! xx
I am sooo tempted by her birthday release - Luau Party and Tea Party, I'm looking at you two! I'm hoping that Claire will do a Resurrection event again this year (around January) and bring back some of her past releases!
I definitely am giving myself some budget for reevaluations in the event that NAVA does a summer release and for Solstice Scent's summer release.
This is my review for today! I think just remembering that everything is in moderation is a huge help :)
People vote on Possets seasonal scents and the three with the most votes join the permanent catalogue! You can vote for your favourites here. I really like this idea, two of my favourite Possets are from past collections I would've missed out on otherwise.
I just bought this cute one on Amazon. It seems to work pretty well, is pretty easy to clean, and I like how minimalist it is (most of the other options I looked at were overly baroque or had bold /ugly patterns). I'm super new to wax melting, so I have no clue how this compares cost wise.
First, I got a clay diffuser from KilnFiredDiffusers on Etsy, but I have trouble smelling it. I think that it may be due to the fact that it's often cold where I live. It seems to work better in the warmer months.
Recently, I grabbed one of these off of Amazon and it works really well. I have it attached to one of the heater/AC vents in my car. It comes with a bunch of wool circles. I apply the fragrance to one of those and it scents the car for days. If it's cold and I have the heat turned on... Whoa! I love it. :)

Performance Colors offers both cream shadows (singles) and pressed shadows (sold in trios). I haven't tried the pressed shadows but I was happy with everything else in my order including my sample of a cream shadow. I wasn't taken by the color though (understandable since I didn't choose it), but I think next time I will order 1-2 cream shadows and maybe even a trio. She has a great return policy too.
Shiro has done limited edition pressed palettes in the past which I believe she's mentioned she'll try to do again in the future, and I think Victorian Disco Cosmetics is supposed to be releasing some pressed stuff too. If you're not necessarily interested in pressed but just not-loose shadows, Darling Girl Cosmetics has some watercolor paint pots and Silk Naturals has cream shadows too.
I like to use this Markdown Cheatsheet if I need any help with formatting. Otherwise, double-space between rows to keep them from turning into a paragraph. We've all been there when it comes to the reddit format. :)
For images, imgur is your trusty friend. It's what most people here use.
And, you are not a dork. This is an adventure with lots of treasure. I totally get it. I could geek out on indie stuff all day long. :D
Today, I wore Midsummer Dreams Apothecary Sultan's Daughter! I've been trying to go through my sample pile and pick a different one each day to weed out what's going on my swap list.
Sultan's Daughter originally sounded just like something I'd love from the scent list:
> Sultry, warm amber blends with sweet vanilla and is surrounded by a palace garden filled with rich jasmine blossoms, hints of fragrant and sweet ylang ylang, and fig. This is a feminine but slightly spicy blend that is warm and bold.
Unfortunately, when I recieved it about ~6 months ago, it just didn't smell appetizing out of the bottle--I didn't even put it on my skin. (Rookie mistake...) I don't know if that first bad wiff was because the perfume hadn't matured yet, or if it would have always smelled wonderful on me after the dry-down, but either way, I'm glad I didn't swap this one. I love it! I'm probably going to try it again a few more times and then pick up a bottle from the shop.
I definitely get more Jasmine right off the bat, and then about 2 hours in the vanilla takes a more predominant role. The dry down is slightly powdery, but not so much to push it into the "old lady" realm for me. The fig feels like a warm, but crisp (I'm assuming its the "slightly spicy") background note that's subtle enough that I wouldn't be able to pick it out blind. I really don't smell the ylang ylang at all--either that or it's so well blended with the fig that I don't notice it.
I would suggest Hallows from Alchimia. It does not sound very "foodie" in the description but it is definitely a gourmand scent. Fall baked goods, oh my! Strong on the ginger & bread, and there is a nice hay note--which meshes with your search for a grass note in a food perfume.
Oooh, I hope you'll be able to post pics!
This is the rack I got from amazon. The price has gone up considerably, I paid about $10 less :(
I get them on amazon. These are small, but fit 98% of the things I sell on imam. 50 for $6 with free shipping
I bought a diffuser on amazon for around $20 and use it frequently with perfume oils I like, but I don't like on my skin. It works great and a little oil goes a long way!
[US] [Buy or swap] [Perfume]
Currently ISO Arcana Floozy, Possets The Moon and Terra Nocturna, FS or partial, as well as any number of samples. Swaplist here, or I have Paypal.
These shadows are awesome!! They were limited edition but the owner has suggested multiple times she was thinking about making them permanent.
The texture of these are amazing, they remind me of MUFE shadows. They blend nicely, but I have found certain brushes don't work well with them; I have however, applied them with my fingers and that works best in my opinion. I may post more swatches of the permanent shadow collection after I get my order from Cyber Monday.
To see these puppies in action here is the link to my IG video post.
What good timing! I've been poking around this subreddit for a few days now. Earlier in November I was poking around the net looking for some little bath and body items for an advent calendar I was putting together. I somehow stumbled on Haus of Gloi, placed a little test order, and promptly fell down what I fear is going to be a very deep rabbit hole...
I don't wear a lot of makeup, so I've really been mainly looking at fragrances and bath/body items so far. I've placed some Black Fridayish orders at Sixteen92, Sugar and Spite, Alchemic Muse, and (yes, another) at HoG, none of which have arrived yet. I'll just be over here, huffing my little sample vial of Winter Divinity until they do!
Otherwise, I'm pretty big into hanging out with my dog and wife, cooking, and watching ill-advised TV shows. I spend most of my reddit time at /r/crossstitch, and you can also find me on Instagram @springvillehill.
Actually midday Saturday UK time does provide the best coverage time wise around the world see here.
Hi! I’m on the lookout for someone who would want to swap a lot of perfume with me. The idea is to exchange as many ml as possible of stuff the other person hasn’t tried - so moving lots of stuff you’re done with and getting to try new things in the process.
My sales is here - would be happy to swap bottles/partials or do decants!
Very simply, I’m in search of all the Violette Market I can get my hands on. I’m so sad they were way before my time in indies, because everything I’ve tried from them has been great. Happy to buy or swap for anything here. Thank you!!
Oh my...I'm not a nail polish person usually, but I need Despair! So, so pretty!
Edit: OMG, now I understand how international customers feel, "Only ships to Australia from Toowoomba, Australia." I...I might just cry :(
Most are Shiro colors with a few Fyrinnae and Silk Naturals. There's also a handful of mixed colors for which I unfortunately didn't keep track of every shadow mixed in (I regret that since some of the mixes are actually really nice, so I'm going to keep track of the mixes from now on). I'll post swatches eventually, but right now my access to a good camera is limited.
The palette is from Book of Shadows on Etsy and I love it (I just ordered a second :D) The pans are 15mm round pans from TKB Trading.
/u/SirWaffalot said, "like you just walked through a pile of fairy dust", so here it is....
Product List:
I've actually been doing most of the IMAM Challenge looks but got kinda lazy about uploading on IMAM. I have them up on my blog and instagram though!
I'd like to do something like this :D http://tinypic.com/r/2eewqw8/8
And this is my hair, currently! http://i59.tinypic.com/2yv29p1.jpg
My skin is obviously quite pale, heh. I find that I can make most colors work, though. Although I do tend to wear lots of pinks and neutrals, but also love purple, teal, green eyeshadows.

[UK/Anywhere][Buy/Swap] Perfume
Looking for the following! For samples, I'd ideally like to buy several of them at a time (or combined with a bottle). Happy to buy or swap for stuff on my table!
BLACK PHOENIX ALCHEMY LAB SAMPLES:
ANY SIZE:
FULL SIZES:
Hey! Is there anything on my list you'd be willing to swap Amber and Lace, Celeste, Lullaby, or Ghost Velvet for? I also have a decant of Air & Ether and Fairy Market.
I haven't, but a google search leads me to: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/IQbathandbody#
Since the products themselves were contaminated, and the new owner "purchased" the shop from Smash, I'm assuming she means products and stock. I would be wary of ordering from them.
Have you checked out Hello Waffle's Frozen collection? For the First Time in Forever look like a good purple choice. Her shop is on hiatus right now but you can still see items in the "sales" tab of her shop and here is an old listing for the Frozen collection.
I signed a lease for a beautiful blue 2018 Ford Escape Saturday! This is my first car I've ever been able to call mine, and it has new car smell! We traded in our 2001 Malibu that required you to disconnect the battery when you turned it off because the ignition was screwed up, was incredibly loud because of a busted muffler, and was minutes away from using its last breath.
I could not be more thrilled. Auto start, heated seats, touchscreen, Bluetooth! I didn't even have aux cord capabilities before. It's a whole new world.
I use Neutrogena make-up remover wipes. Not indie, but they work pretty well, even on eye makeup (I'm currently using Benefit's They're Real mascara, which is difficult to remove, and it even removes like 90% of it). I like the moisturizing type I linked to because I have pretty dry, sensitive skin, but they have lots of different types. I also like to use them post workout to clean sweat off my face.
And to answer your other question, I pretty much DGAF about wearing makeup at the gym, but I usually remove it because I don't like the feeling of makeup "sliding" off when I'm sweaty (plus raccoon eyes, etc.).
You might want to try My Beauty Addiction. I got some mineral samples of there's last week (3 foundations, a blush and a mineral veil). The foundation makes me look dry in places, but your comb skill might love it. I really love the mineral veil (I got the translucent one, but there is a yellow) and am keeping the blush by for summer (I got cinnamon girl - really want to try some others!). I would recommend trying some samples (they're 5 for $6 and fairly large as far as samples go).
I also found an etsy page with one I think might be dead on!
I've never ordered from here, and I couldn't find any recent reviews (her reviews on etsy look good, but almost none of them have comments left WITH the rating :/)
She does offer samples, though, so there is that!
/u/echobunny is the owner of Alchimia Apothecary and she has a Choose Your Own Adventure option where you can order a custom blend of the different notes she has available. I've never purchased from her myself but I know many people from this sub have tried and loved her products and her customer service!
edit: might not be an exact dupe but i'm sure she can blend something for you with those notes or similar.
An Etsy search brings me to a body powder by Plum Valley Notions. I haven't heard anything about that specific product, but I remember hearing at least one of the folks in this subreddit have a good experience with them. I know that's significantly less helpful than a personal recommendation, but it might be a good place to start!
I'm working on a special set now, so we'll see how it turns out.
Edit: It's going VERY well, actually, so I'm excited!
Edit edit: If anyone is still looking at this thread, here's the Valentine's collection.
For Paypal there are a few more options under the "https://www.paypal.com/shipnow" link but first class international mail is what people usually use I think. Like /u/Gherkinjerkin said it's still going over the border.
Luckily, when you use Paypal they have a digital customs form you get to fill out and it just prints with your packing slip.
I'm guessing she used a Creative Commons search to see if any swatches existed under that license and the stolen photos showed up, apparently already edited (and misrepresented as under CC) by a third party?
Creative Commons is a widespread free-to-use set of online copyright licenses for the public, used to help content creators legally and freely allow anyone else to use their work.
> Our free, easy-to-use copyright licenses provide a simple, standardized way to give the public permission to share and use your creative work — on conditions of your choice. CC licenses let you easily change your copyright terms from the default of “all rights reserved” to “some rights reserved.”
From their website.
Edit: Ugh, sorry if that sounded like I assumed you didn't know what CC is, and not just a CC space (which I agree is unhelpfully vague)- thought an explanation might be helpful for anyone who's unfamiliar. :)
One of my favorite foodie scents is One Thousand and One Nights by Iris Soaps. It's got spice from the ginger, but at the same time is just a very warm and comforting scent. Also, it lasts FOREVER on me. Until I shower on my body, but I can pick up a sweater or scarf I wore it with several weeks later, and be able to smell it.
I know her store only has 2 reviews (one of those is me ha) but if it helps, I had a 3 day turn around time, and got it from Greece in 5 days. Overall a really great experience, and I really wish her other stuff appealed to me.
Parkin, from Haus of Gloi, is similar, though I prefer OTON. Also Parkin is LE.
Also seconding Love & Sharks from DC. I want to love Hellbender too, but I have a bad association with the scent that I can't get over.
