Ever since they closed their forums, I've been getting the feeling that the lights are on but nobody's home at InoReader. Their Android app appears to have been left to stagnate, so I've been using the FeedMe app and integrating it with InoReader. It works great and has better features. Don't know about the notifications you're asking about though.
correct, version 6 is shite in terms of battery at least, because of so many and awful background services, they released 100 patches and they never managed to fix it, still one million wake locks and despite my numerous emails for an option to turn off background services, because I don't need/use them, they didn't care, anyway, install this version: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/innologica/inoreader-rss-news-reader/inoreader-rss-news-reader-5-3-24-release/
You can set Inoreader to show only unread items, which will remove read ones from view.
As for moving them or sending them to another web app, the IFTTT channel has a bunch of triggers for new articles starred/liked/broadcasted/tagged/in a specific folder, just not for read ones. Maybe you can adapt one of those for what you're trying to do.
I'm using FeedMe. It provides notifications, and this is customizable per feed. It shows the name of the feed as well as the number of new items.
It doesn't show the headline though. You could ask for this feature if required.
Thanks for checking these out. My InoReader subscription is paid up to 2020 at the moment but with the way these changes went down I am pretty much already beginning to look around already.
I only used boosted feeds on a few feeds that barely anyone was subscribed to and used to take hours to update.
With the removal of my plan I'd have to trim feeds and deal with no boosts or up to the US$50 a year plan. I'll most likely choose neither.
I may have to look into TheOldReader again. Back after GR went bye bye it came down to InoReader and it for me. InoReader had better features for the price back then. Things may have changed now.
Either
copy the Substack URL into the Inoreader search bar, it will likely generate a feed URL
take the Substack URL and add 'feed' at the end. E.g. https://doomberg.substack.com/feed ; then subscribe to that
make a Newsletter feed - paid only I think but works great for me
The above quote is from Inoreader's original blog post of October 2014, that I stilll have in my feed.
When you now go to that post the content has radically changed
Yes, nowadays Bundles are more of a personal thing.
Over the years I have built up my own bundles/folders and don't need prefilled bundles - but I think they still would be useful for new users.
Inoreader has a sort by magic feature, which sorts based on popularity AND your personal reading habits, but it's available to Pro only.
If you want today's article only, you can set it to show articles older than today's date.
I don't know of a way inside Inoreader, but you could accomplish this with a userstyle. You'll need the Stylus add-on and then make a style for Inoreader that includes this (replace red with whatever color you want the links to be).
