This post has been flagged for having a misleading title. The reason for this are below:
The link provided is to the Instagram account of Eric Jacuzzi - who is not affiliated with CGR, and is an employee of NASCAR's R&D team. According to his Linkedin he has no current or prior affiliation with Chip Ganassi Racing.
Perhaps you meant to say he's a 'CFD' (Computational Fluid Dynamics) engineer - which would be factual.
Please tell me how this is an all day rain.
Chances for popup storms, sure. But to consider this weekend a wash before 10 am is very premature.
What's an easy way to upload a higher quality version of this (anonymously?). I have an mp4. But no idea how/where to uplaod it.
Edit: temporary HD(?) video
Edit2: Streamable
So they way you play the game is you pick drivers to finish in the top 5 and it doesn't matter what order they finish in you winning earn a point. Some of the cooler prizes include 1/64 diecast for 25 points, 1/24 diecast for 70 points, Rtic 45 can cooler for 200, and a Weber grill for 250. I'm saving up to get the 1/24 diecast. Here is the link to the Google Play download. Also they are supposed to be giving away a RTR Ford Mustang on the app at some point in time
On a given day basis, early July is more likely to rain than mid-August. Using monthly totals is misleading because a single storm can inflate the total.

Not really, the last tire war led to a lot of blowouts. Mark Martin, among others, was a noted critic of it.
The ideal solution would be another tire manufacturer expressing interest in NASCAR to force Goodyear to step up its game. But that's just not going to happen.
The FCC is a captured agency.
https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulatory_capture
Regulatory capture is a form of government failure that occurs when a regulatory agency, created to act in the public interest, instead advances the commercial or political concerns of special interest groups that dominate the industry or sector it is charged with regulating.
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay did their research and wanted it to come off as a movie "Laughing with" NASCAR instead of "laughing at" NASCAR. They did some heavy research on it and ended up with a lot of "Only NASCAR fans would get this" jokes.
Great article on ESPN about the film ten years on from last month.

Great documentary on the life of Tim Richmond: https://www.amazon.com/ESPN-Films-30-Richmond-Limit/dp/B0040ZN9MC
At the time, Aids was considered 110% life ending. You have to imagine being in that era, with what Tim had. No one wanted it to come out. Sad he became a recluse over it til his death.
Hell, Dale Earnhardt even begged Bill Sr to let him on the track. He was even told no....
Also, fuck that part time champion nonsense. Are any of these players less of a super bowl champion when they didn't play a full regular season game and went on to win it all?
There was rain on Saturday morning that weekend causing a short cup practice, so modifieds could have a early morning 20 minute practice.
COME TO NEW HAMPSHIRE!!!!
Do you want some great nature? How about a BIKE PARK: https://www.highlandmountain.com/
Hiking? https://www.alltrails.com/us/new-hampshire New Hampshire is a small state, almost every trail is within a short drive!!
Cabins? Laconia has a beautiful spot with a ton of cabins you can rent.
New Hampshire also has some great beer, and Vermont & Maine are super close if you wanna have a massively jam-packed week of fun
Ah fuck I was working on this right now. Glad I checked here before I got too deep into it.
Good stuff though, better than I would have done. The only notable omission is Greg Sacks, who won the 1985 Firecracker 500 in a major upset in an unsponsored R&D car for DiGard. It was of course his only win of his career, and he went on to have a journeyman career at best.
Here are the pics I uploaded, mostly the same as yours but hosted on imgur.
No really, it's possible may finally see a Cup race in the rain according to this
I was at the hall of fame 3 weeks ago they had plenty of Tim Richmond items there. If NASCAR really wanted to hide him away, why would it be included?
edit: Or put one of his cars in the main hall at some point Flickr Link
Completely agree on that note. But Iginla is kind of viewed like Steph Curry, he's black but people don't really view him that way. PK Subban and especially Wayne Simmonds are.
Can't see the race restarting tonight. Periods of rain, some heavy, for at least 120 minutes
"And he just turned around and started walking home in his socks."
It's also a good thing that kids don't move as fast as oncoming motorcycles when making a buzzed u-turn.

Won't show the exact metrics, but does show that their global rank has fallen drastically since the changeover.
I just use these wired ear pieces and cheap $10 generic ear muffs over. $20 total and work perfectly and comfortable. Plus, I can still hear the radio when I go to the concourse and don't need hearing protection.
Edit: In full disclosure, I linked a Smile Amazon link. It's not a referral link, but donates a portion of the sales to charity. All of my Amazon links do that, so I forgot that when I linked, wasn't trying to pull any wool over anyone's eyes.
"Leavine Family Racing is in the process of buying a charter for next season as its relationship with Circle Sport owner Joe Falk (who has a charter) will end after 2016, Leavine VP Jeremy Lange said Wednesday. Lange wouldn't confirm from which team it is buying a charter. The team plans to operate one Cup car (the No. 95) next year with a Richard Childress Racing alliance. Michael McDowell has been the Leavine primary driver since 2014 and has built a good relationship with the team but does not have a deal signed yet to drive for the team next season."
Ill try and find an article about it, but he publicly mocked Mark for his past alcoholism.
Edit: Here it is.
If you're not against paying in general but just don't want to pay $60, Sling Blue is only $35 to get the 2 cable channels the Cup races are on. That and an OTA antenna could get you every Cup race and pretty much every Xfinity/Truck race (barring rain outs onto FS2 which have happened but are rare)
Which fake email generator?
This fake email generator? That seems illegal, there's no way I would compromise the All Star Race's integrity by using this fake email generator...
"Sunday Money: Speed! Lust! Madness! Death! A Hot Lap Around America with Nascar".
You can get it for a couple bucks on Amazon
Sorry, Cheap and Quality don't go in the same sentence when you're talking about race radios.
Cheap - Get a handheld FM radio off Amazon and earbuds if you don't already have, and hearing protection from Harbor Freight to wear over the earbuds.
Quality - https://racingelectronics.com/collections/headphones-accessories/products/headphone-platinum-behind-head-stereo-re-58-stereo and a scanner from the same company or scanner from Amazon. (Though the RE scanners can program themselves at the track)
Edit: I have heard of people using these at races, even some reviews, but I have no first hand experience. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000051SD1/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_EcMwFbMHWJR8E
We got these for our 5 and 7 year old to use at Atlanta this year. They worked perfectly, the kids loved wearing them, and the price isn’t bad.
I kind of went off roading in last week's Meta Monday thread, so let me bring it to the proper place...
Does anyone else like roller coasters?
Like them? Hate them?
Scared of them? (I was terrified myself up until about 15 years ago..)
Best one you've been on? Worst one you've been on?
Best amusement park you've been to?
Anything else you just want to ask and are curious about?
I'll start it off, with a bit of a NASCAR twist -
In 2010 Carowinds near Charlotte opened up a ride named "Intimidator," themed to, you guessed it, Dale Earnhardt. It has a car in a makeshift "victory lane" and a large board showing all of his wins. Even the coaster train is dressed up, and has all the contingency sponsor stickers on the side of it. And as you can imagine as you exit through the gift shop, all the Intimidator/Earnhardt swag you can handle.
I was lucky enough to go to Media Day, and rode it before it opened to the public. Here are some pics - https://www.flickr.com/photos/jamminj/sets/72157626121971253/
Kings Dominion near Richmond opened up a sister ride, named "Intimidator 305" the same year. It's taller and faster than the one at Carowinds, but I don't like it as much. Gave me a headache last time I went on it...
Let's end with a shameless plug for /r/rollercoasters
Here is a collection of every number that has raced in the Cup series this year.
Hopefully this is what you're looking for! :) You can download them individually or click File > Download to get the entire .zip folder. They're only 50x40 pixels, but they're accurate. The only number currently missing is the #32 of Eddie MacDonald because I haven't seen what his New Hampshire scheme looks like yet.
The best way I can do it is with this pic
https://gyazo.com/7c8bfda63bbfec501ffe76fd1182c67e
Normally that black bit at the bottom of the rear bumper would be open, but with it closed, it means less airflow and a build up of heat under the car, and hence toasted drivers
It's important to note that the AA batteries you should use are the Ni-MH rechargeable ones, as using your disposable ones you might just find at your local store will run out quick and often. These are the ones I used with my bearcat, when I used to have it at the track when flagging, and it would hold for about a day and a half before needing to be recharged on about 8-9 hours days.
Looks like an Eagle/crest or something link to an old picture of it Also a picture of him getting it
Honestly yes. The way the grill poked out on the Dodge was a vast similarity to the way the plastic bumper poked out on our car
And the fenders remind me of the elephant ears on the late models.
Here's a [link] if anyone can rescue this. Link worked for me in an incognito window so hopefully it work for you. I messaged the guy but hopefully someone closer can get it!(https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/435209487279318/)
Makes sense :) for future reference there's a wallet called Multidoge that only takes a minute or two to sync the first time, instead of a couple hours. If you've got friends who want to try it out, I'd suggest that to them. You can send them some of these :) +/u/dogetipbot 3000 doge
There's ~60% chance of rain in early July and about a ~50% chance of rain in September, so it is at least slightly better. Just because it's hurricane season doesn't mean we're going to get a hurricane every year.
https://weatherspark.com/y/17744/Average-Weather-in-Daytona-Beach-Florida-United-States-Year-Round
wunderground is reporting 88% chance of rain the next 5 hours but the radar looks clear... maybe they're just Dale Jr. fans.
About to run 6 miles. Jamming to Lecrae. Shipping some stuff later for the business. Finishing up this week's 2-3 page paper for class. Maybe taking a nap. Then the race!
EDIT: I lied. I ran 7.6.
Also free demo on their site:
Finally a good singleplayer Nascar sim again!
Edit: Played around for a bit and found out that the AI is absolutely retarded when it comes to yellow flags. They want to finish their lap before they brake after the line, causing massive pileups. It looks really great with cars flying around lol. But it seems like this is a known issue. Until then I would race without yellow flags if you want to avoid dead drivers and visitors.
Shameless plug, but if you'd like to watch content from all these channels and more the way we used to watch the old Speed Channel (think racing's version of Nick Reboot), head over to the Classic Racing Network stream. The chat even has custom emoji.
To make things easier: Here's what I found was useful: If you would like to enjoy the race and transcribe at a later time I would suggest using Audacity to record the scanner/spotter in-car audio. In order for this to work, you need to switch the MME Window (First tab Next to the sound key) to Windows DirectSound. Next hit the record button while the scanner audio is cued on. This will record your audio so you can transcribe it after the race. To save, just export it to mp3. I found this website useful: http://otranscribe.com/ where you can then use the mp3 that you recorded to easily transfer it into a word document. Pro tip: use the ESC button to pause n' go to save time. Sorry for this long explanation, but if anyone has any other tips please share!

I use these everywhere I go and they've worked very well. Plugs tend to hurt my ears so I had to switch to over the ear and these have more than done the job. I use them at the track and even while mowing.
Got it on Amazon, came from china so shipping takes a while and its multiple panels so hanging it close to perfect was a pain. Amazon Link

I have this KOSS headset, it works great for races at Charlotte, I don't know how much louder Bristol will be.
Heads up, they get pretty sweaty.

Not even an inch of rain has fallen at this weather station nearest the speedway. The bulk of the rain is wrapping up too.

@NASCAR_Wxman on Twitter is my go to. Brian puts a lot of effort into it.
Websites like WeatherUnderground, Accuweather, Weather.com are all automated and just computer driven. That means when a new model is run every 6 hrs, the forecast may change. It's why your phone app also changes a lot because it's using automated gridded forecast data. Local TV stations use forecasts that are made by humans. Same with the National Weather Service. So often they're a little better.
With a setup like this weekend with t-storm chances (pop up Friday) and a line saturday along the front, the timing is the main thing. Friday, nobody will be able to tell you 100% if it will or won't rain. Saturday, it comes down to timing of a front which is hard to pinpoint on lower resolution models until about 24-36 hours out.
Yes, I did the render in 3DS Max :) I'd like to switch to Blender if I could but its learning curve is pretty steep.
I don't like to self-promote but since you asked, this is my Flickr album that I'll eventually integrate into my main website.
I do have an actual website but it's actually under the process of a redesign to make it more efficient overall (the current image implementation is a huge pain), thus the current design isn't up to snuff.
Slightly off-topic for NASCAR at least, but I got Formula One Circuits From Above which is a really neat book for any general motorsports fan. I say "slightly" because even though Formula One is in the title, Watkins Glen, Indianapolis and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve are among the tracks featured in the book (and if you really want to get technical, the Whelen Euro Series races at the Nurburgring!).
I also bought my father He Crashed Me So I Crashed Him Back which is about the 1979 Cup season. He used to watch a lot back then and still does now, though not quite as intensively, so I know he'll enjoy this one.
In other news, hello, /r/NASCAR! Been lurking for a while and I hope to befriend a lot of you before Speedweeks! I'll work on my flair when I get more free time, I promise!
EDIT: Fixed the links so the the italics would work. Please forgive me, obviously still new at Reddit formatting!
I have been writing VBA for the last 8 hours at work. I have my own little orchestra going right now.
Rainy mood
Internet Firepalce
And the original Minecraft soundtrack ripped from the game (about 6 songs)
It gets me in the fucking zone lol.
Forget seedy motel rooms, find an airbnb, it's cleaner, you'll have more space, and a kitchen to cook in.
You can change the dates and location around a bit, but here's what i found in Bristol TN.
Don't buy this game. It is broken as hell, and nearly impossible to hold a straight line when exiting turns. Any little correction with the wheel will start to make the car "serpentine", and you will crash A LOT. I also have "Inside Line" and went back to that after a few frustrating days with "14". I haven't tried it with a controller, but I would imagine that the handling is even worse than the wheel. I would also recommend checking out iracing if that is possible. This is a link that will test to see if your PC can run a game. If yes, you should give iracing a try and not waste your money on NASCAR 14.
Ah yes, you're right. Got my timeline mixed up. Went to the Monte in 2015 and I remembered wrongly that it was the year when the did selected events, but that was the one-off you were talking about. Anyway, thanks for the elaborate correction, accept this short piece of footage I took of him at the Monte: http://coub.com/view/4ssla
F1 drive, the races come on a fews hours after the race is done, which is pretty much the time we all wake up! there will be six videos, practice 1, practice 2, quali, pre race, race, and post race. so click the fourth for pre race or fifth video for the race
Currently there are two payment options: $43.99 w/ 1 yr online services + $12 to renew online every year. Or $84.99 + Lifetime online access. http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/ I'd recommend waiting until the steam edition releases in case there is a price drop.
For a copy of the game plus a "Lifetime" Multiplayer license, it's about $85 USD.
For the game and a 1-year MP license it's closer to $45, with each year being another $12.
Here's another angle flickr, they definitely had one of his cars in the main hall at some point, it's not there now, but off the top of my head they had some of his trophies, his pit board and pictures and video up in the hall.
I've only got the 1 episode up, but fixing to make tomorrow's report, tonight. All Star Race preview show should be ready before the sun comes up tomorrow.
Thanks!
Discovered a lump on my neck by my girlfriend. My dad is a pharmacist and he recommended I go get seen. I got seen yesterday and my doctor said keep an eye on it. And someone said I look thinner than usual and I've lost 4 pounds. You can imagine where my head is at currently.
Anyway, If anyone ever wants to hear me on air at my radio station, Check out my shows M-F 9-11, W 12-1 and 4-5! Follow this link!

I wrote this during the off season last year. I'm sure that it's inaccurate from a technical standpoint, but I had a good time writing it. After reading it just now, it actually has a few striking similarities with the real 2014 season (if you switch around a few driver names). Beware, it's a bit lengthy.
https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Radios-H41-CF-Headset-Control/dp/B0147PVPAW
Got these before going to pocono and worked like a dream, though I didn’t make much use of the microphone as my buddy only had headphones, and no mic but they worked about as good as I could ask
my group all got these for bristol in march: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QXHTJCQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
i dont think anyone brought it home after the weekend but for the price, it worked. would have froze a few water bottles to help keep the beer cold but my 8th beer wasnt warm or anything.
The Thrustmaster TMX is a great starter wheel from what I have read and watched. I ordered one on Amazon yesterday night after seeing it on sale. It's currently $179.62 at the moment.
You should look up the game Thunder Alley. It's not officially licensed by Nascar, but it's a much better game. You get to race a team of cars around a track by playing cards that mimick drafting. This is the link to buy it on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L3CTHLC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_I3KqAbK0ZX0RN This is the link to a video explaining how it plays. https://youtu.be/GrejHxwDF5c
Here is one example, 3M also makes one that I've seen at Costco but am unable to find it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Works-10121816-Digital-Radio/dp/B0064C2M8Q/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=hearing+protection+radio&qid=1554220431&s=electronics&sr=1-10
Check these out - I bought them for work, but ended up taking them to a race last year when my group was short on RE headsets and ended up liking them better than my RE Gemini 5s... They're Bluetooth, but also have a standard 3.5mm jack that you could plug into your scanner. I've had mine 4 years, still working great. They're comfortable, noise isolation and sound quality are great. They're also awesome for mowing the grass.
Also are available at Lowe's and Home Depot.

Not sure what your budget is, but this is easily exactly what you're looking for if you want to talk to each other.
https://racingelectronics.com/collections/scanners-accessories/products/re3000-gem5-pkg
You could try to save some money by buying the headsets then getting the scanner from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00772MR0K/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_-1GgFbT4BX2SY
This is the gold standard outside of the RE brand. Others on here will recommend a BaoFeng for like $40, but technically you need to be licensed to operate it. Either way, as others said, you need to program these yourself. RE broadcasts a signal at the track that programs it for you.
Edit: Not sure if you're aware only because you didn't mention it, a scanner receives more than the radio broadcast you can also listen to the drivers/spotters/teams/track officials.
Get a cheap ass Baofeng radio.
Add some decent earbuds that hold out the noise and listen to the radio chatter all night long.
There's a racing management game on mobile which lets you do a good bit of what you mentioned, its called "Motorsports Manager." Its more of a F1 simulator than NASCAR, but its pretty fun to operate how your entire team runs.
The heat index is literally 15 degrees cooler from 3pm to 8pm.
That is a massive difference, plus much more comfortable without the sun beading down on you.
Weather Channel has a 50% chance of rain at 8pm.
AccuWeather has 56% chance of rain at 10.

you have to have a headset with 2 plugs on it, usually one on each ear cup. The 3.5mm one gets the scanner and then there should be a 5 prong plug on the other ear cup that the baofeng plugs into. You need this type of cord for the baofeg: Amazon.com: Rugged Radios CC-Ken 2-Pin to 5-Pin Coil Cord Cable for Rugged V3, RH5R, RDH, Baofeng, Kenwood, HYT & Relm Two Way Handheld Radios and Headsets : Electronics
HMS doesn't need a satellite team, and Rick has already said that they have no plans to seek a replacement for SHR. Sure, they're going to lose what amounts to millions of dollars that SHR was paying for engines/chassis/data but they certainly have the ability to absorb that hit.
I managed to snag some tickets for North Wilkesboro next year in the Turns 1-2 grandstands. I noticed that these grandstands are benches with no seat backs. Does anyone recommend a good stadium seat cushion with a back and no metal components? I found this Coleman seat on Amazon and it has about 4 stars. Just seeing if anyone else has something else they'd recommend.
I'm not sure what some of these comments were saying the rain clearing by 3/4. Looking at radar now, it's already clear.
https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/tn/bristol
Sight chance of sprinkles around 3, but the heaviest is gone.
As for drying the track... that's another story. We've seen NASCAR pull some dumb stuff like California in 2008 when they were better off calling it a night.

We should at least get through two stages without interruptions.
I have it on DVD actually. I have the box set actually haha

You need to set your location first in the YouTube TV app so you might want to use fakegps app to make it a US area.
Also you need to use VPN to buy the YouTube TV and you might need a US billing address.

It doesn’t make that claim explicitly. It is determined by adding up the the geologies listed in the Bible in Genesis.
However, the genealogies due support about a 6,000 year old earth. But so does observational science. There are a lot of reasons why the dating methods used to determine the ages of rocks are inaccurate.
I will be gone for a few hours, but when I come back I can give you some resources that explain that.
