I don't really know what Cleverpin is but is sounds like you want to change your computing experience based on your locations and different contexts. If that is so, checkout Control Plane.
You can enable password protection different mouses and keyboards, bluetooth, audio options, and much much more based on what context the computer is in.
Solution 1: Download Butler for Mac and make a hot corner (I suggest top right) that when you click in that corner it sends the "Quit" command to the active application.
Solution 2: Download Better Touch Tool (if you are on a Macbook you should download this app regardless) and set a gesture to send the "Quit" command to your application. Four finger click is a good gesture.
There's itsycal https://www.mowglii.com/itsycal/ and Calendarique too. Itsycal is the free option and Calendarique costs a bit of money. Calendarique is available via Mac App Store. And lastly there's also Fantastical and BusyCal which to my knowledge has a menubar option along side Fantastical that all allows see current calender events. But in your specific use case I would go with the other redditors and their suggestions of getting iStat Menus if you want to have a dropdown when pressing the Time in menubar. I initially read the the title a bit wrong, hence my suggestions.
I believe those are just PNG files that are overplayed, but the OS has gotten to the point where that type of stuff is now in a protected enclave and you may not be able to change it.
This is from 2013: http://osxdaily.com/2013/05/21/change-dock-indicator-lights-color-mac-os-x/ but it looks like it may have some hints for you. I'm using 10.14, I can't find the files they reference.
1) Yes, it is. It's actually a feature that's built into OS X.
2) Absolutely!
EDIT: No, actually, not quite. You can show a single frame from the video, but I don't think you can play it :/
This is a collection of OS X Tweaks that I put together.
While looking around for tweaks I noticed some interesting ones don't have compiled versions available.
DarkDock and Afloat for example had no compiled version/releases so unless you have xcode (8GB) to build the project yourself there was no simple way to get the tweaks.
What I've got up so far:
I find EasySIMBL better. I believe its injection mechanism is more reliable (though still requires a manual relaunch of LaunchAgents to be injected), plus it has a neat gui.
Alright. I figured it out. Download this: http://cl.ly/303l3S392V0Y , and then download this: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/7486/cronnix .
Use Cronnix to schedule the workflow for 30min or so. It just toggles the wifi off then on again instantly.
For someone willing to get their hands dirty with some scripting, Hammerspoon allows you to do some amazing automation of your window management. You can do things from simple hotkeys to open apps up to automatically laying out windows based on wifi/bluetooth/display connections.
Keyboard Maestro can make a macro like this. You'd set the hot key to your combination, then choose "choose from menu."
Keyboard Maestro is super duper powerful.
I would highly recommend checking out Karabiner and Hammerspoon. These two are seemingly endlessly powerful especially in combination.
Plex, link here, allows you to run a media server on your laptop, this is great for local iDevices/Android Devices (including chromcast), however I use a Mac Mini, so it is stationary, and acts like a media hub using the plex server for the rest of the house.
Unfortunately the iOS app does cost money, not sure about android. However it is worth it if you will use it enough and have the library for it!
I think that Entropy or BetterZip might be what you are looking for:
Both allow you to peek inside or drag/drop files in and out of encrypted archives without extracting.
Still seems to be working for me on 10.10.2 and Chrome 41...yeah. Are you running the 10.10.3 beta?
Also, I think the best test for the extension is this page: http://jsbin.com/ziwod/1/edit?html,js,output
Try the "Notify me" button with and without the extension if you can. Without the extension you should see a Chrome notification and with the extension you should see an OSX notification. Let me know!
Übersicht is an alternative to geektool. i've switched to it long long ago. it seems more modern and versatile to me. no shade against geektool though, it's still a great tool!
You don't need a third party app but the solution is very hacky.

I think after Lion the plist file is in binary so you have to convert it to text to modify it.

You can change system icons, like the Trash, Finder and folder icons. When you try to change the icon in the 'Get Info' window, I presume you have an png image you want to use as an replacement icon, but from your description, it sounds like you copy the files icon, which is a generic png icon. The Finder only shows you the preview of the file, but the file still has a different icon and you copying that icon. If you want to use an image as an icon you can follow this guide on OSXdaily.
Actually the developer just got an M1 pro device running Monterey and he has been working hard to get it working for Apple Silicon devices and on Monterey. I believe he has a working version but it just hasn’t been released yet. You can check here to see his progress https://github.com/koekeishiya/yabai/issues/1054
To get favicons+better tabs in Safari, 1) Download EasySIMBL by clicking the "download zip" link in the rightmost column. 2) Download SafariStand from this link. 3) Run EasySIMBL, check the 'use EasySIMBL' box in the top corner, then drag SafariStand into it. Boom.
Safari Stand is nice because not only does it widen the search bar but it also makes your tabs evenly sized. Great tweak in general.
Slate is a program I use to reorder and resize windows through keyboard shortcuts.
Another thing it can do is remember and restore window layouts. I think you'd want to create a snapshot of your layout which you can they restore. Hope it helps.
iirc the application MacUtil (Basically MountainTweaks for yosemite) has a feature that makes the menubar solid. Haven't tried it myself though, good luck.
Yes MacForge is safe but as other users have said if all you want is desktop widgets you can probably just use Üebersicht. If you want to just put the system widgets from notification center on your desktop you can use Todeska.
I'm calling this sunset theme.
*Folder Icons > https://www.deviantart.com/janosch500/art/Gradient-Folders-494310536
*Transparent Finder bars > XtraFinder app
*Transparent Dock > cDock
*Firefox theme > Rainbow Blur
*Desktop widgets > http://tracesof.net/uebersicht/ | Calendar | World Clock | Memory | CPU | Spotify current track (bottom right)
*Screen Resolution 2048x1280 > Display Menu.app
*Terminal > adjusted font color and transparency
If you want something like geek tool for OS X that uses HTML, then check out Übersicht. It's much faster and less of a hog of memory than geek tool, and it's super customizable because of the HTML and Coffescript
My go-to chainsaw for tweaking:
OnyX - OnyX is a multifunction utility that you can use to verify the structure of the system files, to run miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning tasks, to configure parameters in the Finder, Dock, Safari, and some Apple applications, to delete caches, to remove certain problematic folders and files, to rebuild various databases and indexes, and more.
I've had the same experience as yours, and the only working solution I've found so far is to create the USB using a Windows-only tool, such as Universal USB Installer.
If, however, it's a matter of messed-up bootsectors, you might have luck manually converting your USB into MBR as described on this page.
Use Day-O. Great app.
EDIT: you can get rid of the calendar icon and you can customize the time with any string. Like I have EEE. MMM. d, h:mm a and it shows Wed. Jul. 15, 2:13 PM
