If something I wanna watch has bad health I use the torrent collection search or go to https://torrentgalaxy.to and look for the file I want and copy the magnet link. You can then paste that in the PopcornTime app and it'll play the file
I've used ExpressVPN for years. They're fast, and have lots of servers, all over the planet. For hiding torrent traffic, it hardly matters, though. Just use a big brand name, and the results will probably be the same. VPNs have become a fundamental necessity. You should use one all the time to keep whatever ISP you're connected to from seeing your traffic.
If I were you, I'd just use a traditional torrent client to download a ton of content before you travel. No, nobody is watching you watch movies on your laptop--just don't seed while traveling.
Used to use PIA, then they got swooped by up that shady company, dumped them and moved over to Mullvad, it's been good, generally I download anything I want to watch and then stream it via plex, so I don't stream through PCT with the VPN, but I suspect it would be fine, still get 2/3 of my reg speeds with it connected.
Yes, I know that they've been purchased by an ultra-shady marketing outfit. I have ~6 months prepaid, after which I'm finding another. I've found them to be consistently the fastest, and all of their servers in other countries that I've tested were the same. Had a hard time with Australia once, but that seemed to have been all traffic to Oz & NZ.
Here you go- best quality Frre Guy

Can you access OpenSubtitles in your browser? If so find the subs you want, download them then use the Custom option to add them once the media starts playing.
Just install the Nord app, run it, and connect. From that point on, all the other apps will be communicating over the VPN. Nord app->Disconnect, and you're back to regular Internet.
Unless you need to set up "split tunneling," which allows some apps to communicate over the VPN, while others get at the Internet normally, there's nothing else you need to do.
It depends on isp to isp my isp is very strict I mean I download 1 movie and well I get threatening emails lol. I recommend you use a vpn use windscribe simple free fast and very secure windscribe.com it gives you a 10gb limit allowance then renews itself.
Your tv is connected to your internet, right? Get a modem which support VPN.
I use a Linksys modem with ExpressVPN installed on the modem. This way all my devices which connect to the internet is using and protected by the VPN.
Yes, I am also not able to access the site.
Luckily I kept the latest build saved from (the builds there were frequently updated by the dev and are very good as compared to the one on the main site. Like subtitles, download button, etc - everything is working. The last update was on 28th March 2021 and after that, the site disappeared. I think it has to do something with popcorntime.appnsite blocking and deregistering
I tried to find out and some info i got like the movie companies have asked the court to block the site and block even transfer of the site and freezing of PayPal account.

I wish that it comes back with some new name
So one peer is a bad sign. You need to find whatever you a looking for from another source. You can try out the "torrent collection" inside popcorn time or use your perfered torrent site and copy/drag&drop the magnet-link into popcorn time.
I belive NordVPN supports p2p.
Enabling that option will check if is active and if it doesnt find it will display a red lock button in the filter bar and a warning every time you play something for a few seconds at start informing you that you might need a VPN.
If you have a different VPN (or you dont need one) you can just disable that option. Assuming you have it setup to route all traffic from your device it will also route Popcorn Time's traffic. (you could also leave the VPN option enabled if you need a visual indicator that your VPN is active every time you play something. It will still display that warning I mentioned before which you can ignore and just check the IP address displayed. If its the VPN's IP and not your actual IP then all is good)
>if is active
Will it use a free version of that VPN service? Or how does it verify an account? And could I instead use another VPN service (like nordvpn, where I have a prem account)?
> Assuming you have it setup to route all traffic from your device
I would prefer not to route all traffic, but only the pt traffic if thats possible
>yes you can use your own VPN if you want but i cant say anything about inbuilt VPN (im not a developer so i dont know).
okay, my question might have been a bit unclear: I wasn't asking if popcorn time would work thru my NordVPN app connection, but if it's possible to use my vpn service within the app, so I dont have to tunnel all my traffic, but only the pt traffic? Like, can I use the a NordVPN proxy connection via the inbuilt proxy feature? If so, how would I be able login with my nord account?
I'm new to popcorn time. I too am having problems with NordVPN. I've tried a few different servers, but gets stuck waiting for torrents. When I turn off vpn, it seems to work. This is on Android, Samsung s20.
So, we have users claiming there NordVPN is blocking PopcornTime and other saying everything is fine...
Sound like there are more investigation to do.
Which VPN client are you using ?
Which VPN server location ?
What is the DNS set with your VPN ?
>With NordVPN off, Tenet 1080p has 2000+ peers. With NordVPN on, it has 0.
you're talking of just the health indicator ?.. If yes, if the health request is timing out due to slower latency (like when you use a VPN) it will display 0, but doesn't necessary mean NordVPN is blocking something.
The health indicator is just an indicator and cannot be 100% reliable.
What you should do, is trying to watch the movie... but start with the vpn on first, because if you stop the dl and restart it, sometimes peers will not reconnect directly
I'm very doubtful. I've been running the same setup for years - no AV, just smart browsing. NordVPN. No changes to the ISP, and I'm doubtful that they would be able to see what I'm doing, anyways, because of the VPN.
Hey so, first time using popcorn time in 2-3 years , when I try to watch something it says "downloading," and makes me 1) cancel 2) cancel and use VPN ..... how do I watch things on here (I'm running NordVPN in background) can I not stream on popcorn time? Is it only for downloading torrents? I used to be able to stream?
