Sadly, a GPS is only as good as its map.
There is an app called "GPS Status" for Android and I'm sure an equivalent exists for iOS. It can display the raw GPS and compass data. It gives you your latitude and longitude (which you can reference on a paper map), elevation, and other data. It can be used without a map, as you can drop waypoints and it will always be able to tell you where the points are relative to you.
It can do this without access to any data or cell service. It only needs reception from the GPS satellites, and that only needs a clear view of the sky virtually anywhere.
I very much recommend having such an app.

As others have said, this is the Firey Gizzard Trail
According to wikipedia, the trail crosses private property and the property owner is no longer allowing access as of 12/1/2015. It says that the owner has offered to sell his property to the state, so this information may be outdated.
I live in Arizona and can confirm that a lot of people disregard those signs.
It's dark, but our local subreddit a year or so back even had a poll on where we thought the first dead tourists of the season would be from.
If anyone's interested in reading more on the topic, this book is a really good read. I convinced my mom to get it for me when I was a kid, and while it was a bit of a morbid read for someone so young, it really teaches you not to underestimate the desert.
You’re 100% right about that, but I feel that the border area is/was more of a point of conflict between the IRA and security forces, in areas like South Armagh etc which are heavily republican. However, I suppose you’re in a way right that Loyalist paramilitaries did play a significant enough role in that area too. Anyone interested can find out about two of the more higher profile incidents here:
If you’re working with young or special needs kids I’ve found this book to be an awesome resource for teaching about lockdown safety. I can be a superhero during a lockdown
Here's an interesting study on the effects of Halon on humans. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/235051345_Human_Inhalation_of_Halon_1301_HFC-134a_and_HFC-227ea_for_Collection_of_Pharmacokinetic_Data
This sign appears at the point where the trail comes close to the middle range. You can see on this map the left-most point of the trail. That’s where the sign can be found. The NPS site for White Sands warns of the unexplored ordinance, advising to not touch unknown objects but mark their position and report them back to the rangers.
Nope, that's handheld nozzles. They've had builtin ones for years, they got to be all the rage during the TP shortages of 2020, and they're quite affordable and easy to install.

If you continue to insist on wiping your butt with baby wipes, I highly recommend putting them in your bathroom garbage can and not the toilet. But then again I'm not the one who has to deal with a plumber when you eventually clog a pipe.
This trail is mentioned several times in a book that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys this subreddit called "Over the Edge: Death in Grand Canyon" to anyone who enjoys this subreddit
"Hurricane force winds occur an average of 110 days per year. Mount Washington holds the Northern Hemisphere and Western Hemisphere records for directly measured surface wind speed — 231 mph, which was recorded on April 12, 1934."

Might not actually be the worst but it's definitely not good.
If you want educational I recently stumbled upon the thermoregulation of alligators
I use these: MOKCCI Truelove Dog Boots... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LYFJ8FX?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It didn’t take long for my dog to get used to them and they let us get an afternoon walk in when it’s hot.
There is a book about it (probably more, this is a picture book):

I had thought about making some out of paper bags but I ended up buying them off of amazon. One of my sisters just crumpled up some paper bags and hung them with yarn. She said that worked for her
