Edit: There's also a free-to-start (free prologue, paid rest of game) version on the Google Play Store too. The first game used to be on there, but it seems to be gone now.
I Will remove the post if it is inappropriate. The game has almost no storyline and focused on battle and loot on procedurally generated dungeon. It is small and simple game. The game was released on itch.io and promoted here about a month ago. Although it is rather expensive, it has demo and cheaper android version so you guys can try it if interested.

That's quite interesting. The first XCOM remake's (Solomon's) internal build actually started with time units like the original X-com, but they completely dumped that system because they thought it was too complicated. Dunno if that had to do with consoles, considering at that point they were still planning on launching on both PC and console simultaneously unlike XCOM2.
What's even more strange about that history is that the indie team behind Xenonauts decided to steam full-on ahead with time units anyway even as Firaxis abandoned it. It might be worthwhile to check that game out for research
>we have a turn phase where both player characters and enemy AI characters choose in what turn order to take their turn.
Does this slow down the game at all? I know a big criticism of FFT is that battles are far too slow and a lot of people want snappy speedy animations like Fire Emblem, so I'm a bit worried that you're injecting some slowdown into a genre that's apparently infamous for being too sluggish.
Yeh I have heard the final battle is the toughest fight in the game. So far, combat encounters outside of the arena have been a bit of a pushover.
I assume your half giants were multiclassed with something else, otherwise gladiator is a better option to go for single class. My team setup is like this:
Mul thief/fighter psi meta, Thri-Keen gladiator psi meta, Half elf druid/preserver/fighter, Halfling druid/psionicist. The mul/thri are fully offensive frontliners, the half elf provide support on melee range whereas halfling throws CC or support magic from the back. I hope they can tackle last fight.
BTW, what's the advantage of human dual class over other races multiclass? And why the expansion is shit? Kinda waste not playing since It came along the gog.com bundle.
There are already some rogue-likes with tactical roleplaying elements already (Mysterious castle on iOS or steam marine series, Nether guild on itch.io ... ) But I think you guys can make a unique game way better than at least SFD. (At least twice better since SFD is one man project)

On Android there is a creator who makes non-gacha games called Tactics Maiden and Kingturn. I found these to be fairly amateur looking with very tedious flawed mechanics, but other people give them positive reviews so give them a try I guess? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mangobile.tacticsmaiden.relaunched
Apart from that, forget it. Emulate GBA or PSP.
Battle for Wesnoth is light on pc requirements it's also free!
evanh33234 already mentioned getting classic games on GoG, if I I could recommend a few more that are potato pc friendly:
Telepath Tactics - plays like FE
Age of Wonders 1 and Shadow Magic - fantasy 4x
Banner Saga series - I think you only need 2-4gb worth of ram to play the entire trilogy
As a matter of fact it does! If you're also into collecting CEs you can get your copy from Amazon UK:
Project Triangle Special Edition
It's currently "temporarily out of stock" but if you check every so often it will be available again. It took a while for me to secure my pre-order since the slots get snagged up pretty quickly, but with a little patience and perseverance you should be able to get one for yourself.
Wesnoth is one such an example. While you can improve accuracy and hit chances a bit, luck plays a much greater role in it, so you have to plan around units missing frequently.
There's a more extensive talk about it here: https://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=21317&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
That's a good question, unfortunately NISA rarely releases their games on those platforms. The only one I know of so far is Disgaea 1 Complete, which is a port of the Switch version. It launched last year on January, it could be that they're testing mobile waters first before committing other games.
if you want to play game like Final Fantasy Tactics, Oggre Battle i suggest to play SFD on google play or steam

So your dislike of controller option has just been with the on screen key set up?
I plan on getting a bluetooth controller like this eventually.
