Hello /u/fuffyballofanxiety! Welcome to the team of the Transcribers of Reddit! Your first post is quite good, and by fixing some details it will be a nice transcription:
> I am here, > > talking to you
Output: I am here,
talking to you
After fixing these details, I think this will be the first of a long (I hope) series of transcriptions. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send messages at the mods and to join our Discord server (you can find the link in the sidebar). Have a nice day!
JMK
P.S.: don't forget to post your transcription in the subreddit, not by replying to the bot. It's for this reason that it has not understood your "done" ☺️
Heyo /u/Sky_Chevalier,
we noticed that you often post transcriptions here to test your format. That's not a problem, but do you know about the Reddit Enhancement Suite? Among other things, it shows you an instant preview of the comment you are writing. That way you can post directly to our partner subreddit without worrying about formatting mistakes.
Thank you for contributing and keep up the good work!
Hey there u/Valerokai, we just like to check in and say hi and welcome you to the team! Normally this is the part where I'd give you feedback on your first few transcriptions but they are absolutely perfect! You've nailed the formatting guides, so thank you!
I noticed that your first transcription has (beer emoji) in brackets which totally works, but there's a website called emojipedia that has every emoji out there, and we generally prefer if you can copy/paste them in where possible. Screen readers can actually 'read' emojis these days (how mad/cool is that?!) so it seems best/easiest to just stick with the original.
Thank you for joining the project, it's great to have you on board :) If you ever have any questions or problems feel free to message the mods or you can pop into the discord channel - even if you just fancy a chat! :)
I got called away, but welcome to the team!
Your transcription looks great -- the only thing I'd like to change is that screen readers can handle everything in the standard Unicode emoji set, so go ahead and use https://emojipedia.org to copy / paste the heart emote into the transcription :)
Other than that, if you have any questions / comments / whatever, feel free to reach out to us through modmail or through Discord if that's more your style; the link is in the sidebar. Cheers and welcome to the crew!
Hello u/Sn0wlizz4rd and welcome to Transcribers of Reddit! We hope you have enjoyed writing your first transcription.
I have a little tip to improve it: add also all the emoticons (via sites like https://emojipedia.org/) and hashtag texts. Make these corrections and your transcription will be complete. 8- )
If you have any question, feel free to send a message to the mods and/or join our Discord servers (link in the sidebar).
Have a nice weekend!

Hey /u/boywithafox, thanks for helping!
I just looked at your first transcription, you completely nailed the style guide, good job.
I noticed that you posted to a testing subreddit before posting this. Do you know the Reddit Enhancement Suite? It can, among other things, show you a live feedback of your comment so you can test the formatting.
If you want instant feedback or just talk to fellow transcribers, you can join our discord server with the link in the sidebar. Of course, you can also message us per modmail if you have any questions.
Cheers, and welcome to the crew!
Oh dear!
I have mine on "Top" sort not /new.
If you use Reddit Enhancement Suite, you can filter out words on your homepage I think - so you can remove stuff you don't care about. Don't go though!
(heads up: this *post* will be deleted waaaay before 4 days is up. If you want to save the post, you can save to device on some apps, or if you use Reddit Enhancement Suite - then you can save to profile.)
That's okay!
It looks great! To help you out in the future you can install Reddit Enhancement Suite on your browser and it will give you a live preview of the comment with the formatting :)
We have a discord server if you'd like to join, the link is in the sidebar :) Other than that, just let us know if you ever have any questions or need help with formatting :)
Welcome to the team!
Awesome :) If you ever get stuck on one, feel free to shoot us a modmail, we don't mind helping out if you need it :)
You are more than welcome to post it in ToR to help yourself out, but to make it even easier, I suggest that you install RES on your browser, link. This will give you a live preview of what your comment will look like :)
Really, other than small changes, you should be able to directly copy and paste from the format guide and it should come out correctly :)
If you see something that isn't available to transcribe on ToR, you can always crosspost to our partner sub /r/DescriptionPlease and post your own transcription there. If it is in a subreddit you want to see us partner with, please shoot us a modmail (or post to the suggestions channel in the Discord server if you've joined over there), and we can add it to the list of subs for us to approach, or we will let you know if we've already approached them.
Hopefully I've answered everything :) If you have any more questions, please let us know :)
Hi there, /u/thepenguinofnight! First off, I love you username! Second off, great first transcription! There are just a few small things formatting-wise to clean up to make put it in tip-top shape :)
If the Image Transcription part has the type of image (in this case, text messages), we don't need the descriptive bit that says [Text messaging] right underneath :)
We use https://emojipedia.org/ because all major emoji have standardized names (and screenreaders know those names). In this case, the "smiley emoji" is the Slightly Smiling Face and can be copy/pasta'd from here: https://emojipedia.org/slightly-smiling-face/
If you could take care of those two quick changes for me, I'd greatly appreciate it!
If you have any questions / comments / whatever, feel free to reach out to us through modmail and join our Discord for instant feedback from other volunteers if that's more your style (link is in the sidebar)! Cheers and welcome to the crew!
Hiya, yes the square brackets are perfect!
Oof! I didn't even notice the emoji!! Right, because screen readers read the "description" of emoji, we usually put the actual emoji in the post, you can get them from emojipedia.org; for example, that one is here.
If you have any other questions, just let me know :)
After reviewing the video and discussing with fellow mods, we believe that this outside our normal scope of work and would be much more beneficial to you if you personally did the work. That being said, here's some pointers:
We definitely recommend using http://otranscribe.com, which is our go-to for something like this. The instructions are all on the website, but it's very useful for putting together transcripts that include things like timestamps. Timestamps are very useful; they help identify where you need to be in the video. As a general rule, we try to place timestamps (CTRL + J if you're on PC, Apple key + J if you're on mac; ESC to play / pause the video) at the beginning of each paragraph or a scene change.
Based on the kind of work we've done in the past, we think this would realistically take you about 2.5 hours to complete, especially if you're just describing the text and not the individual actions.
We'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the transcription process, but again, we believe this is something you'll be better off pursuing on your own.
Sorry, man! This account is not monitored, and I just now got this. We actually run on on OCR.space, which (as I understand it) is a layer on top of Microsoft Vision Services.
Ping u/itsthejoker with more questions if you have them!
