For those interested there is a Groupon here: https://www.groupon.com/deals/project-appleseed-152
I used a fairly standard 20% Groupon code as well. However right now there is a 25% Friends/Family code: FF25 you can use on one ticket.
Aka 50% off. Costs you $31.50 on Groupon all said and done
>He later went on to explain to the old man how he wants The Gun Dude to be the Starbucks of gun shops (of note: Starbucks says guns are unwelcome in their stores).
Have you heard of a metaphor? Being the Starbucks of something means the go to place or the top of the food chain. The fact that Starbucks doesn't welcome guns is completely irrelevant. He didn't even say he liked Starbucks. I'm surprised you're not offended by anybody who drinks any kind of coffee because there is a brand that sells coffee that doesn't like guns.
Don't be ridiculous.
I mean something like this not necessarily this one. It was the first result on google
I’ve used this without issue for a while now.

Nord is the standard for a reason. Check out their team up with one of the few youtubers out there worth a damn, PayMoneyWubby (https://nordvpn.com/youtube/?coupon=paymoney&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_term&utm_content&utm_campaign=off292&utm_source=aff8358)
Completely agree. Especially when Bernie Campaign staff are making comments like this for all of the public to see..

I think there are a lot of people who didn’t vote last November that will absolutely be voting and paying attention now.
https://prism-break.org/en/ is a fantastic resource of privacy minded tools for just about every platform and definitely worth checking out. I’ve been trying to convert some friends in the gun world to being more privacy minded even before all this but it’s hard sometimes to get non technical people to understand why it’s with the time invested to safeguard your online actions and activities
When I was a kid and learning to shoot, I once put a round right through one of those spring clips that we used to hang the targets. Drilled a hole right through it.
Should have kept it as a souvenir, especially since I paid the range $5 for it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.thoughtcrime.securesms&hl=en_US Signal I've heard is also a pretty good private messaging app so long as the other person you're messaging has it too.
Just make sure you have a vpn with a track record of a no-log policy. And that they’re based outside of the us. NordVPN fits it.
I’d also recommend having FireChat or Bridgefy at the very least installed and configured on your phone and on those with whom you’re going. It’ll let you message over Bluetooth via a mesh network instead of relying on cell service, which as we know can be brought down. Or get expensive hardware based encrypted radio comms if SHTF.
For a hand gun. I’d get a block and a punch set. Wheelers is good. You can just use a reg hammer and buy a punch set.
I use this set. Wheelers punch set.

For block you can use a roll of duct tape and sit it on top of it. Or get a block like this.

Definitely do them yourself. Forms are free from ATF, and inkless pad on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001HA4PJ4 I got the holder too and it makes it even easier. No big deal. Got a few stamps this way recently.
Folks always bring handheld clay tossers and we often have folks with can-cannon AR uppers launching stuff that we’ll even have groups of folks shoot at. We shoot everything up there the whole day. Many years we’ve even had actual clay launchers be brought up and setup! Maybe pick up one of these Traps and a box of clays!
These are what we use. Then go get the cheap 1x1 at Lowes. https://www.amazon.com/Highwild-Adjustable-Shooting-Cardboard-Silhouette/dp/B07V7W65TC/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=target+stand&qid=1671126484&sr=8-5

results may vary, but for situations like this I very strongly recommend checking out How to Have Impossible Conversations and The Righteous Mind. The first covers the practical aspects of interacting with people who may not be the most reasonable and the second covers the deeper reasons as to why people rarely use reason when it comes to morality and politics.
There's radio coverage the VCDL mentioned would be covering the event on WRVA

There are some photos online and media coverage but I don't trust just any media source that comes up high on google.
Yep

As of yesterday it was slated to be good, but looking at my usual site I do see it's now slated to be drizzling.
I use https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/va/stafford
Slated to just be a bit drizzly, and stop early on. We'll have a little chat and see what we want to do.
> Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.
Tell me you don’t see where the meetup would be considered an assembly of one or more persons to drill with firearms.
Then tell me how “intent to intimidate” will be interpreted by an anti gun AG?
And if one person wears this t-shirt what stops them from arresting everyone and making you sort it out in court?
Given the increase in Red Flag laws, and other confiscations like in NY, is it really so far fetched to see this happening?
What if someone shows up with one of these dumb shirts: https://teespring.com/tcma?aid=ts-boosted-rt&tsmac=store&tsmic=patriot-t-shirts#pid=2&cid=2397&sid=back or something similar? Is entire gathering now intimidating Hillary voters? Is possible paramilitary activity?
I'll throw in a recommendation for my old spot, Maryland Small Arms Range (MSAR). It's by Andrews Air Force Base. Nowhere near public transit, so you'll need a car. They rent just about everything, including AR-pattern rifles. I recommend them over other spots because of the friendliness of staff. They also do Groupon deals every once in a while, $43 for two people, including gun, ammo, and eye/ear protection. When I was looking that up, I came across this: https://www.groupon.com/deals/guns-n-gear-llc Never been there, but it's a good deal.
did anyone check out Appleseed in October at Mechanicsville?
It's further away in date but it's closer to RVA...
also check out Groupon for saving $20 off $60 entrance fee...
I was there too. As I said (and you confirmed); cops were using them because of the cold.
And also, because I hate pointless arguing, I looked it up
Daily High: 37 F
Daily Low: 24 F
That's cold enough to warrant a face covering.
Anker PowerCore 10000 Portable Charger, One of The Smallest and Lightest 10000mAh Power Bank, Ultra-Compact Battery Pack, High-Speed Charging Technology Phone Charger for iPhone, Samsung and More.
I'm not suggesting you do this, but about 100 benadryl tablets is lethal for a coyote.

A pound of hamburger with a bunch of those light to make short work.
Acetaminophen works well too, although it a takes a lot longer to die and is pretty uncomfortable.
Poisons are usually pretty unethical, especially if you can't be certain your targeted pest is the creature that will eat it.
Do it yourself. Just use one of these
Something like this in a 24 hour storage facility wouldn't draw any attention. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0031R6FC6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_NPBE8XJZV59YVECW4ZPF
It will hold multiple rifles and handguns. Just make sure you have dehumidifier packs to keep moisture out.
Well congratulations on wanting to exercise and train your 2nd amendment! Kudos! Train, be safe, and seek help as you have done. I would absolutely recommend this tool https://www.amazon.com/Laser-Ammo-9mm-Premium-Plus/dp/B00P0FOV5K/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=laser+ammo+9mm&qid=1617329777&sprefix=laser+ammo&sr=8-5
First rule is treat every gun as if it were loaded even when you KNOW it’s empty. Laser ammo is a good way to get used to your pistol ( without recoil )
These are great. Pretty slim and effective, I haven't had any issues using them for shooting skeet. Granted, I don't do it often, but the couple times I did I didn't have any issues with them.
I always do double ear pro, I like my hearing the way it is. I'm ok with single when I'm the only one shooting, but I'd rather be prepared for whatever anyone else at the range is shooting.
For what the smith will charge you you could easily buy a sight tool https://www.amazon.com/NcSTAR-VTUPRS-Universal-Pistol-Sight/dp/B01HU4NNDE And
It’s really easy to do
Alternatively get a cheap FM broadcast transmitter(One that puts out a handful of watts, not the cheapy little plastic ones for getting your phone on your car radio) and make every car in the parade tune into your new radio station and blast it. Yeah it breaks FCC rules, but that shouldn't actually be a problem for a one-off event. I have this one and it goes upwards of a mile with the little antenna.
I built my own, one for the AR's and another for the AK's. Although AK's have less likely lost parts.
Used this container, good latching. But I still keep a few rubber bands on them just in case.

This is exactly what I'd go for. They're always rated crazy well and the videos online make it seem like the obvious choice. It's like $35 on Amazon.
Hola will accomplish what you did, but be aware of other side effects:
You know how it goes, if it's a free service you're likely the product
Nobody asked for my recommendation, but Mullvad (and/or Firefox VPN, which uses Mullvad) is my choice VPN.
https://www.amazon.com/Garrett-SuperScanner-Metal-Detector/dp/B07G2MJBBL I've actually seen some places using these out in public unfortunately.
It’s a C&R item. You’d be breaking no laws.
But a gun sock which will protect it and also make it less obvious what it is.
Drive reasonably, use cruise control, and don’t worry. Beyond that, if pulled over be polite and professional. They’ll never know or find out you have a firearm in the car.
Usually, yes. But for just “maintaining” an AR-15, you don’t need a punch set. All you’re cleaning is essentially the upper receiver, the barrel, and bcg. You don’t need a punch set for that. Now, if you’re building one, that’s different, but a punch set is pretty the same.
You can always buy additional punch set later on, they’re fairly cheap.
What you really want to have all bases cover is a mallet/hammer with brass/polymer head and a multi-size punch set.
I bought this two year ago.

until reading this comment I had no idea about the issue with foam. would this case be okay for long term storage? since it has this:
"ZERUST ANTI-CORROSION TECHNOLOGY: Includes anti-corrosion Zerust infused dividers that release a corrosion inhibiting vapor that forms a protective layer on metal to stop rust. Provides a minimum of 5 years of protection."

I saw this case recommended elsewhere on reddit for a keltec ks7
I got the Pink Rhino from amazon, which coincidentally is sold by MantisX.

Like you, I got a p365xl and while I do have ammo, I don't necessarily want to shoot off all my ammo just to spend another 100$ on 100 rounds. This definitely helped me with my trigger control, which in turn helped with shooting.
Take your shots slow, real slow. Learn where the break is and learn to put the trigger right at the break before firing. I first went to the range and had no idea where my shots were going, but after hundreds of dry fires with the laser, my aim has significantly increased.
This doesn't replace live ammunition though. Obviously you won't get the full experience of recoil and what not, but it's a decent alternative if you don't want to waste hundreds of dollars figuring out trigger control.
> Be sure to purchase NOT from amazon, as they do tend to sell a bunch of fakes.
Or, you know, you could just pay attention to who you are buying from on Amazon. Unless you want to suggest that Amazon itself is selling fake tourniquets.
Says it could be delivered by Sunday with Prime.
Or just plug this into your search engine of choice: virginia velcro patch
Many options will come up.
I put in my name for email registration and hopefully it'll go through.
I have a question about sling. I have an AR rifle with a 2-point sling on QD mounts. Is that type of sling allowed for the lesson? Do I need to get different style of sling?

edit: I'm registered for this weekend and joining /u/Austin-117 for weekend shooting lesson..anyone else joining from /r/VAGuns?
we should just amazon prime one out there for $25
Prices seem super high for my taste. For cleaning just 10 pistols I can buy Hornady's most expensive ultrasonic cleaner and do all my uppers as well.
In Nova, it specifically states you mat not, at least last I looked.
I bought these:
https://www.amazon.com/Avery-Business-Card-Pages-76009/dp/B00006IC8I
And cut out one section, slipped it in there, and carry it that way. Protected but not laminated.
Double check the dimensions, but I think I used these: https://www.amazon.com/Self-Sealing-Laminating-Pouches-Business-LS851-10G/dp/B001CDBB3O/ref=sr_1_2?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1489066140&sr=1-2&keywords=business+card+self+laminating+pouches
Thanks! Any recommendations on a good kit? I hit analysis paralysis last night looking at all the pros/cons of various tools and accessories last night. Do I need a bore guide? Can I keep using the aluminum pole I have for my .22 with different tips or should I upgrade to fiberglass?
Is the accutrigger setting mostly preference? Any reason to start higher or lower?
For hitting the range I got lucky. I have two friends who were former firearms instructors. One for the FBI, one for the USMC. They're both going to get me going on rifles.
