The console won’t recharge any rechargeable batteries you put in the controller. Alternatively you can buy these Panasonic rechargeable batteries 4 plus a charging port. For me, 2 are always charged and ready to be swapped out. No need for charging cables. Just my opinion though
Yes, you need one of these -

I had a 5.1 system which was working fine for my Xbox One X and PS4pro, with my monitor. When they announced no optical, I had to find a new solution. I had no idea about which one of the hundreds would be good. I ended up with this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Converter-Extractor-Optical-Toslink-Support/dp/B073TXX3KV
It works with the One X and Series X fine, I can get 1440 60htz normally, and get 120htz if I turn off Vsync on the monitor. The only issues are the 5.1 doesn’t seem to work, I have to have the box outputting 2.1, if I select 5.1 the speakers just produce static. I can live with it, as it’s better than nothing. Also, randomly the PS4pro can not output 4K downscale to 1440 through the box, it just defaults to 1080 and looks awful. Plugging the PS4 direct into the monitor does the downscale fine.
All in all, for £15 it was a fine work around for me.
I used this for a while, it’s a great monitor for the price. Nice picture and was great for hitting 120fps in Call of Duty online. I ended up selling it to grab a 4K 60fps because I play more single player games than online multiplayer.
Just bought this for $90 as renewed. Looks like they still have more. Super fast and works awesome. I transferred 88GB of games in less than 10 minutes

I have this exact monitor. It is a 1080p monitor, and the HDMI port doesn’t support high refresh rate. If you get a HDMI to DisplayPort adapter like this you will get 1080p 120hz. Gosh, nooooooo
Widescreen monitor is a terrible idea for gaming. Sideways will have no focus, it looks like shit. Human eyes cannot use that monitor properly. You need full screen monitors that use 16:9 scale.
This one is a good option, or 32 if you wanna bigger.

I have their cheaper 27" curved version 1440p 144htz. But I'm back playing on my 65" 4K QLED TV. I'm running 1440p tho so I can have 120fps, playing from the couch is everything haha
It would need to be directly connected to the bus like an m.2, series X only has the 1st party connection in the back with their 1st party hard drive card. The speed is also 7000mbps, and about $200+ for an m.2 of that speed, so it's right on target. Xbox went with the APPLE style of marketing for this: makes it easier, but severely limits competition and sizes available.
PS5 doesn't have this first party slot, they use an m.2 like a PC, but it's a small ports, so not everything will work due to length issues, plus you need a heatsink small enough to fit. Something like this, https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-PCIe-Internal-Gaming-MZ-V8P1T0B/dp/B08GLX7TNT/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ps5%2Bm.2&qid=1631400750&sr=8-3&th=1 + cost of heatsink add-on
I use the built in for X/S games, i use an internal ssd (that i connect with a external usb-3 case) that i play all non-X/S games on, and a 4T/B external that i don't use on my computer just for copying over games that aren't activately being played, so i don't have to redownload.
Check out all the way towards the bottom where it compares the TV to other ones like it.
you can get an M.2 use the USB just fine to run games and transfer back n forth. I use a straight NMVE to USB adapter... kinda like this one
