Read Nothing Feels Good. All your answers lie within that book:
Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and EMO https://www.amazon.com/dp/0312308639/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_b1bqDb7MDE8FN
As a TL:DR, Emo has gone through several waves of popularity and genre fusions, so it gets confusing.
To summarize the last 30 years, Emo started as a reaction to political hardcore bands in the 80s (Rites of Spring), then it sort of mutated into alt/indie rock (Sunny Day Real Estate, The Promise Ring, Jawbreaker) in the 90s.
The reason people have the reaction to Emo they have now is because of its next mutation was less a musical style and more of a lifestyle/subculture that blew up in the early to mid-aughts. This was Emo's largest mutation, which is why it's hard to define.
Bands like Dashboard Confessional led the way, while bands like Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and (whether they agree/like it or not) Thursday pushed it along for bands like My Chemical Romance to elevate it to its height.
Today, we're seeing a reaction to that mid-aughts Emo subculture. Beginning in about 2009/10, bands like Fireworks and The World is a Beautiful Place... have taken us sort of full circle. Now Emo can be defined by twinkly or clean guitars (Tiny Moving Parts), or even more of a grunge-y sound (Citizen, Movements, Moose Blood). For a full experience of what Emo is in 2019, listen to Sunsleeper; they are an amalgam of Citizen, Movements, and Brand New.
For me Emo is back in that sweet spot, like how it was in the late 90s, early aughts before it blew up. I don't think it's going to blow up that way again, but for now it's nice to have consistently good music coming out from the scene while everyone else ignores it.
I don't think you asked for a history lesson, but get me started on Emo and I can't shut up (I really just wanted to post the link to the book and look where it took me, haha).
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, or whatever the kids say these days.
Today while putting groceries away I heard my 3.5 year old son singing desert. This is the first song that wasn’t a nursery rhyme that I’ve ever heard him sing.
I can definitely see where you're coming from with this post, and although I am also very, very skeptical of some of the details of these allegations, I'd like to address one comment/question you asked, because it's extremely important in these complicated situations to understand the answer.
> I don’t know about you guys but if I went through something as traumatic as that, I wouldn’t want complete strangers to be the first to hear about it. Why did she not go to the police?
First, it is very important that you don't project how you think you would handle a traumatic situation onto someone else. Complicated emotions like trauma and grief make people do weird things. It's easy to think you'll act and behave rationally until it happens to you.
Second, there are many reasons why women (and men) don't go to the cops in these situations, but one of the biggest reasons is the fear of not being believed. We have a long history of dismissing women as valid sources for information in these cases. Here is a recent article that you could read if you really do want to begin to understand the answer to your original question. Some independent research on the subject might be beneficial as well.
TLDR; always reconsider judging people for how they handle trauma or otherwise difficult situations, especially if it is not something you've ever been through.
In 2016, I began fighting for my life. Since then, I have been battling with a debilitating illness and struggling, with the help of family and friends, to survive. I managed to hold it together just long enough to go to, and record, this Brand New/Modest Mouse show, but was hospitalized about 24 hours later and spent most of the summer in the hospital.
I'm okay. I'm surviving. I'm making small steps. I published a book of haiku a few years ago. If you want to support me for providing the community with this recording (the full show will come soon) and the dozen others I've provided over the years, grabbing a copy of my book and giving it a positive review is the best way to do that. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0692998187/
Today I'm meeting with someone who may be able to greatly improve my quality of life. I'm hopeful, which isn't something I've been very often in the past few years. That's why I'm sharing this now. I want to celebrate the way this recording has inspired me. What Jesse says at the beginning of this song may not seem important. But it's meant the world to me.
"Sorry. I just wasn't happy with what was happening for a second, sorry. It's never too late to turn everything around. You just say... you just apologize, say 'I fucked up.' Try again!"
Yeah. I just saw that :-/
Maybe this will work:

otherwise I will google drive.
They didn't block it for audio, but for the video actually.
Here's another mirror that may process eventually: https://sendvid.com/kl3gipzz
Amazon I think, but they're Bluetooth rgb smart bulbs and you can pick the colors. The lamp takes 2 bulbs so I decided to mix colors up. Happened to have those colors since I got the lamp, just happened to match the canvas pretty well too. I usually don't have the rest of the lights on, so those colors in the lamp make the room look like perpetual sunset.

I was able to get a clear one off amazon a few weeks ago for ~$15. Here is the amazon link. It's $13 right now.
Charts just updated on rateyourmusic and it's #1 for the year there as well
From the AP thread:
At the coordinates, people found bags/boxes containing more Shone artwork and a nifty USB drive with a 50MB .wav file of this song on it.
The obvious assumption is that this song is by Shone.
The first thing everyone noticed was that Jesse Lacey isn't singing, prompting most people to accept that this isn't Brand New.
Some people are trying to dissect small bits of the song where they think they hear Jesse doing backing/supporting vocals, but for the most part this isn't getting us anywhere.
Today's been a day for a lot of the people who haven't followed the thread or the campaign to come in and talk about the song (mostly about how much they don't like it) and otherwise shit on the people who have "worked" on this mystery.
@LeviGudmundson tweeted very recently that we're done for the day... "rest my weary eyes"
Thanks Harim! Yeah, I did this! It took over a year from conception but well worth it and here is the final result if you wanna check it. Signed prints are for sale on Etsy pretty cheap - https://www.etsy.com/listing/107680836/deja-etendu-signed-print
There's not really any solid upcoming tour from them. You can keep an eye on their schedule on things like SongKick and their facebook (though that is run by fans, not the actual band).
Good progress so far. I have a buttload of bootlegs if we want to count them. Can contribute to the list when I'm back on my home computer.
However, for those looking to get a lot of this stuff, the Brand_New community on LiveJournal compiled Box accounts of Brand New's discography. It's unfortunately a few years old now, but there's a lot of gold here. Links below:
If you're scared of losing them, order these pin backs from Amazon. They hold very securely and the pins won't fall off.

According to the geotags I found a while back, and the distances from Levittown and nearby stuff it fits.
You'll also notice a ton of graffiti has been covered up. I'm sure other places have a bit but it seems like a lot for the ground. I'll link the tags in a bit, but as far as I can tell this is the real deal: Seaman-Neck pedestrian overpass:
http://wikimapia.org/4307610/Seaman-Neck-Overpass
All in all it was a fun trip, and now before his wedding I get to make my friend a SoCo amaretto lime with SoCo, amaretto, and lime that actually were at the overpass from "SoCo Amaretto Lime." =)
Thanks! I did it to this one too!
Personally, I think all of the albums tie together into one big story of Jesse's or a characters life. Think of the way the style changes from album to album and compare it to growing up and how you as a human change. It becomes very obvious that the story does not have a happy ending, but I've always admired the mysteriousness that surrounds this band.
Even if it's not what you agree with, my favorite theory always was summed up by this persons annotation on Genius http://genius.com/4667414
I know Vin wrote a lot on Daisy but as I said before, this could not be just Jesse but the band as the whole growing and evolving with this character I see portrayed slightly differently in each album.
I did...

Video (kinda shitty video quality here - video kept pausing, but audio stayed good): https://mega.nz/#!zwRkjTqS!9bK98aCu37Seyakt42plNj_408pNwMSsrpFJt0fqNAY
Check out etsy. I find all sorts of fun stuff there. I found a spray painted Deja Entendu poster and a cool lyrics poster for TDAGARIM. Also found this one just the other day, waiting for it to come in: https://www.etsy.com/listing/174788543/brand-new-gig-poster
he actually did it bc of the ridiculous prices it was selling for (this happened before the repress) any because brand new fans and/or record collectors are rabid.
I don't know if they have confirmed who is supporting that show, but here's what they had said a few days ago: https://www.facebook.com/BrandNew/posts/10152294356518023:0
> Happy to announce that Kevin Devine, DINOSAUR PILE UP, Man Man and Into It. Over It. will be our support on various dates on the July run. Please check venue listings for exact line-ups.
EDIT: According to http://www.songkick.com/concerts/19464849-brand-new-at-stage-ae
Line-up
Chordify is a nice site I found recently, now sure how they do it but they have the basic chords, I dont think its 100% but you can get an idea of what the song is. https://chordify.net/chords/brand-new-cant-get-it-out-fght-ff-yr-dmns
Well in this case the command would be:
ffmpeg -i videofilename.mp4 -c copy audio.aac
I went ahead and actually did all the stuff I told you to do the post earlier because I have nothing else to do anyway. Here is the link. I usually use MEGA but the upload speed was shit. Separate AAC files, already tagged.
https://www.mediafire.com/?kyktazduahs6gzz Nothing too special, I have the whole show except I cut out my personal info from talking with an EMT after Vin jumped in the crowed, landed on my head, and pinched a nerve. I'll make a new post with links to each night as soon as I can.
redbubble and etsy are a good place to start.
i bought this one off amazon a couple weeks ago
I'm on Android Galaxy S8, installed this app and sure enough it reads up the long number and expiry when pushed against the back of my phone, just as the point of sale devices must... even gives all the techy hex code detail! Whilst the app is expecting a card, i'm sure it would tell you there's "life" inside the vinyl, whilst maybe not making any sense of what it's saying... keeping my eyes out for anyone saying they've tried and destroyed this idea. :D
There are some great plastic wall mounts that are not very expensive which is a great way to display a few select viynls.
I keep the rest in a cloth milk crate style box like this for the ones I am not activity listening to
While I do have dedicated furniture for my vinyls…I have what is essentially a picture frame holder that I use for display/storage the current vinyl I’m playing. Essentially (this)[https://www.amazon.ca/Mocoosy-Pack-Plate-Stands-Display/dp/B088CWMYSX]
The Devil and Deja are raging inside Daisy's favorite weapon demos - Brand New
Pennybridge Pioneers - Millencolin
Is a real boy - say anything

Honorable mentions

I meant to send you this link last night. Just realized I sent you that Jeff the killer gif. Sorry about that ._.
But here you go:
I'm gonna record the stream with OBS and then rip just the audio out for the archive.
EDIT: Uploading Video... The video is choppy, but the audio is legit on it. After the video is uploaded, I'll rip the audio out of my file and upload that.
Video: https://mega.nz/#!zwRkjTqS!9bK98aCu37Seyakt42plNj_408pNwMSsrpFJt0fqNAY
Audio ONLY: https://mega.nz/#!zphwjJjY!pwYURjFH48Iibb9ZRlHr4gNRArBTJIUkNOySoKNEx9k
I'm gonna rely on someone else to cut it up into individual tracks.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2SykYTuZY3FNkhCaFhOeGdtM1U/ - I wasn't sure what bitrate the audio was already in on a 720p MP4 so I just stuck with 256. I doubt it was any higher than that to begin with.
Feel free to put this in your Dropbox with everything else and let me know if there's any issues with it.
*** Sorry for the mass amounts of replies but I'm posting as i'm going, someone uploaded a Soundcloud version for those who don't want to download.
Oh wow, on searching for this set I'm finding that what I have is wildly incomplete. He played way more songs with Kevin than I have, so I'll be hunting for a more complete set. But yea, I can give you what I have and let you know if I find something better.
Edit: Here is everything i have from the set. I'll let you know If i get something more complete.
Brian actually founded a full service production company, working on film and events.
Was psyched when I found out he worked int he same industry as me, hah!
From this wiki
>"the writing is on the wall" or "Mene Mene", is an idiom implying that a (usually) negative event is easily predictable based on the current situation. Often, the event is seen as hard to avert. A direness similar to an "impending doom" can be implied.
Not looking good for us.
At least it’s not $600 like it was before the repress haha.
It’s available it’s just not cheap. And it won’t be getting any cheaper! If you’re serious I’d say jump on it now. I made a similar comment a few months ago when it was around $50.
I haven’t listened to the clear pressing yet but I’ve had issues with static/skipping on IAAN and Deja - they all went away after I purchased this (below) and started using it to clean off my vinyl before (and after..) playing. Not sure if you have one or something similar but it works wonders!

Try something like Goo Gone But first try it out on a different vinyl sleeve that you don't care as much about to make sure it doesn't dammage the artwork
BOSE makes some great stuff. these are mine, and they work flawlessly! deep, rich sound. lightweight. not too terribly expensive.
id stay away from beats or skullcandy. i've owned them both and had nothing but problems with them. mediocre at best sound quality for how much they cost.
Déjà just got repressed and should be readily available in the next couple weeks. TDAGARIM is a little trickier but keep your eyes peeled on Discogs. There are rumors that Blink's Untitled is about to get repressed too.
The others are honestly super easy and very cheap. Here are the amazon links for each:
