This site really isn't that new, but SongKick.com lets you put in the names of all the bands/artists you like, then sends you notifications when they announce a concert in your area. I'm shocked at how few people seem to be aware of it. As someone who digs lives music, it's the cat's ass.
I believe Garfunkel's tour has an appearance in ~~NYC~~ NJ on the 3rd, and nothing on the 14th. Not saying this is proof, but it is technically possible.
Edit: Sourced for Garfunkel. Simon apparently has no shows until he headlines Jazz Fest in New Orleans from April 22nd to May 1st.
It is indeed an asinine thing to say.
Look at the other concerts planned at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in the near future.
John Prine, The Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Bad Company..... Do these artists scream "boujee high income fan base?" Fuck no.
I think the negative attention this is getting is ridiculous. I make around $33,000 (probably not even considered "middle class") a year and with just some slight planning and saving I'll be able to afford this.
++ more
I guess fuck me for having a DECENT job and wanting a vacation centered around my favorite band.
ITT: People who didn't know how great Bumbershoot used to be.
Not only was it not sold out....
The first one I attended in 1997 ticket prices were $7 a day. $7!!! My roommate still has his ticket stub and busts it out each year to reminisce when we hear what the current years prices are. $85-$99 for daily passes. Geez.
And don't let anyone in this thread convince you it is because today there are more top tier acts. The 1997 lineup had many huge names for the 90's.
Who were the opening acts?
Edit: well according to this http://www.songkick.com/concerts/26899914-young-thug-at-ohm-nightclub
The lineup last night was fucking stacked, I don't know what you're talking about
SongKick.com was built for this purpose. You enter your city and all the bands you are interested in, and it emails you when they announce a show in your city. Works well for me.
I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, and then-unknown openers Pearl Jam once, in a 2000 capacity club: http://www.songkick.com/concerts/728063-red-hot-chili-peppers-at-concert-hall
The Smashing Pumpkins were barely known at the time, touring the Gish album, and Pearl Jam wasn't even listed on the tickets, Ten was two months old and the video for "Alive" playing sporadically on whatever the alternative video slots were called then. After Pearl Jam DESTROYED as the opening band, some of my friends were saying "Wow, the Smashed Pumpkins are really good!"
PSA Yasiin/Mos has a few shows scheduled but it's not a full tour. So if your in CA or Chicago definitely try and go. I'm pretty sure he still lives in Capetown and has had issues coming to the US in the past...so you might not get another chance
Edit there are more shows listed under new name Yasiin Bey. Minneapolis, Portland, SD and SF. IDK if this is just the way they're listing him or if he's actually not planning on doing any Mos material at those shows. Since for my ticket it lists them both on the ticket even though theyre the same person, IDK maybe he's planning on doing a set as Mos and then intermission and another set as Bey.
Non lo so, aspetto il prossimo film di Tarantino. Per le band invece non diciamo cazzate...

isn't that a listening party? https://www.facebook.com/events/118326064989449/
pretty cool & free shit is a bonus inlc. booze, allegedly but not a gig. they're playing in Winnipeg, Canada- I dun research.
do you know what the deal is with RSVP, OP, are they just letting everyone in for now?
To be honest, a lot of it might have been timing. It's been a while, but I think the turnout was also hampered by being a during a really bad time.
Holy crap. I actually found a link that gives the date. Turns out it was a Monday, definitely a bad day to drive high turnout.
Edit: It's amazing what one can find. This looks like their setlist.
All you need is http://www.songkick.com
Sign up, add in artists you want to "track" and their gigs/concerts are added into your calendar. You can then buy tickets as soon as they go on sale AND from the cheapest source (it usually lists all the ticket vendors and their price). Excellent website that I have found to be invaluable!
> I'm surprised because I didn't realize they were popular enough to hold a two-day concert in a stadium that seats over 70,000 people, since that's how many people they had attend all their concerts on their tour overall this past summer (in July).
Maybe you mean in just in South Korea? Because they had over 240,000 people attend their concerts in Japan alone, within less than 2 weeks.
>I bought tickets for EXO's concert when they went on sale but I just checked and they still haven't sold out; BTS sold out their concert tickets in the first five minutes.
Idk, just check for BTS and they're yet to sell out their tickets for their concert in Anaheim the day after tomorrow.
>EXO is probably still ahead of BTS in terms of popularity in Korea/Asia.
Checking EXO's concert attendance compared to BTS', that definitely holds true.
>It might also be because spending time on here they don't seem very "popular" and people always talk about how boy groups like EXO are only popular with their fans and not the general public (but obviously they have enough fans that general public support doesn't matter as much), and they're not exactly r/kpop darlings
Oh boy, don't use this sub this if you want a proper representation of how popular boy groups are lol. This place is heavily skewed towards girl groups considering the demographics of reddit.
Songkick is the business, even though they did change the UI a while back to make it harder to see all gigs in a particular location.
The main gig venues are all pretty good at sending our regular emails about what's on sale soon. You can also sign up for emails from See Tickets, Ticketmaster, Stargreen and other ticket retailers.
Keep in mind that most gigs go on sale on Friday morning, often with a presale on the Wednesday. You're much less likely to miss stuff if you get in the habit of scanning the main ticketing sites at some point on a Thursday.
Finally, if there's a band you really can't miss when they come to town, make sure you're on their own mailing list.
songkick detroit is my preferred method, has all the big shows, tons of medium and small shows, definitely a few every day. Be advised some super tiny shows won't make it on there, but any band that obscure you probably know when they're coming. go see live music! http://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/18073-us-detroit edit:sp
Here's the eventbrite listing https://www.eventbrite.com/e/iggy-azalea-limelight-sat-aug-16th-tickets-12611566535
Songkick doesn't seem to think she was supposed to be here though http://www.songkick.com/artists/4774213-iggy-azalea
I drove to Huntsville from Auburn in 2003 to go to Big Spring Jam, mostly to see String Cheese Incident and moe. Here's the 2003 lineup. It was a great lineup. Some big name acts, some smaller acts and some cool local bands.
The most recent Big Spring Jam in 2011, and the lineup sucked so badly that I wouldn't even drive 15 minutes from Madison to see it. It failed because they booked shit acts, and the complete refusal of the BSJ management to acknowledge this still blows my mind.
BSJ is dead and gone, and should stay that way. The name has been sullied by mismanagement. But it would be pretty sweet if we built something new and awesome instead. This would be a great thing for Downtown Huntsville, Inc to work on.
Linkin Park is still insanely popular. I don't really know how one quantifies this kind of thing exactly, but for example, they're the 18th most-tracked band on SongKick:
http://www.songkick.com/leaderboards/popular_artists
They sell out ridiculously huge shows all the time, and they have tremendous international appeal (not lost on Blizzard, I'm sure). They've put out five albums since "that album" that you're referring to, and they've basically all gone to #1 on the US charts, and most of them have been #1 all around the world.
tl;dr: Blizzard's not out of touch, they know their demographic. Taylor Swift isn't really an option here.
A$AP, Danny and Vince are doing a show in Morgantwon WV for WVU that had no Tyler branding on it. But I found these tickets on sale and am wondering if maybe they're starting going together now?
Theory, looking at the headliners OutKast, Skrillex, and The Glitch Mob's tour dates, I noticed one artist that appeared on all of their tours, Kavinsky. either way, Daft Punk/Kavinsky+SebastiAn. this is gonna be huge. I'll do more research.
Here's a link of his tour dates: http://www.songkick.com/artists/580030-kavinsky/calendar
I drove to Huntsville from Auburn in 2003 to go to Big Spring Jam, mostly to see String Cheese Incident and moe. Here's the 2003 lineup. It was a great lineup. Some big name acts, some smaller acts and some cool local bands.
I don't have a lot of love for CityPages as a publication, but their calendar is really handy to see what's going on.
Songkick is a great way to look at specifically what's playing for music.
Finally, and I don't really know of a way to link to this, but if you log into facebook and click on "Events" on the left sidebar, then hit "Discover", it will pull up a good number of significant things coming up.
Hope that helps!
http://billetto.co.uk tries to find ways of removing ticket-fees, and have had some weeks without any fees, with help from sponsors.
Its nice to see a company that tries to change the market, but people still hate ads, but it is indeed nice to follow.
Sadly they don't have that big-named events, and seem to be able to find more hipster-like events, but that is more up to the organizers.
Songkick ( http://www.songkick.com/ ) does some cool things too, but they are a bit more shady in my book. They announce prices like:
Buy on Songkick for £30 (no hidden fees!)
Buy on competitors site for £28 + £2 (fee).
Fees are hidden if they are just included in the total price.
There is a website connected to Spotify... <strong>songkick</strong> (running out of URLs maybe?)
You enter in alllll your favorite bands and your radius and it'll let you know when concerts are announced.
I couldn't pull the trigger on early bird after last year's meh lineup. I'll gladly pay more if the lineup is good this year.
Only confirmations I've seen so far are Wild Belle (confirmed on KDHX this morning) and some mentions of Judah and the Lion popping up for a bit on BandsInTown.
http://www.songkick.com/concerts/27061414-wild-belle-at-loufest
No G-eazy starts back touring on the 6th of January after the album comes out
>5 really doesn't make sense to me, ok big albums dropped near christmas so I guess bigger names should follow suit?
It's proven to work the closer to christmas the release the more likely it'll reach number one also less promotion seems to work in it's favour these days
>The post overall doesn't give much to make me believe the theory besides yeah, he's dropping an album sometime.
As I said it's my opinion but I'm pretty sure I'm right if you don't believe me cool
I really loved it, he had a live band and Donnnie Trumpet was there, really great atmosphere and the crowd was buzzing. Chance had loads of energy and by the end he was soaked in sweat, you could tell he enjoys performing.
You should use songkick.com. I got an email as soon as the Chance gig was announced and booked the tickets that day.
Kingswood - Fri night at the GOV

Huh?
A quick google search finds this no problem.
I was trying to remember a site I found but this came up in my google search anyway.
Did I miss something?
And to be fair, comparing Detroit's music scene to Austin's as lesser is a bit odd. Austin is the live music capital of the world. That's what this article is about, live music.
Detroit isn't a musical step-child by any means but it isn't the "live music capital of the world" as Austin promotes itself as.
Personally, I think Detroit has a vibrant music scene but the author can't belittle the likes of Austin.
I don't even want to talk about NOLA.
I've recently started using Songkick as it pulls up shows by artists on your last.fm profile coming to whatever area(s) you specify. I used to LOVE the iconcertcal app and the way that connected to iTunes, but smething in it broke after iTunes 10, and it doesn't look like the developer is active anymore. It's still a decent app for seeing ALL shows nearby, it just doesn't connect to iTunes to match your artists anymore (and it's not free).
As for websites: ShowListDC is a good starting point. There was another site making the rounds here a few months ago, but I don't have it bookmarked on this computer.
The last time I saw In Flames (MOTHERFUCKING IN FLAMES!!) in concert it was like this, my friends and I actually got in a fight for trying to start a circle pit. Saddest day of my life. What is happening to our metal shows? I am thinking shreddit flash mob circle pit at this concert or another metal concert soon.
Here's the link for anyone looking to buy tickets on Friday 👍
Is Ja Rule's tour falling apart? There are only a few dates now listed here, I was expecting to see more added but instead they seem to be dropping some....???
If you like beer and liquor, both Diamond Bear brewery and Rocktown distillery give tours and tastings. There's a newer brewery named Lost Forty but I haven't been there yet.
Songkick is usually pretty good for finding music : http://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/17060-us-little-rock
check out the "Death to All" tour - they just payed on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise and are scheduled for HellFest in France later this year
http://www.songkick.com/artists/6580774-death-to-all
Seeing the DTA tour is my only chance of being able to see all 21 of the Shreddit black-listed bands live
Try Songkick mate. It is exactly what you are asking for. You select a bunch of artists you want to follow and the cities you are close to, when one announces a tour you will get an email notification :)
For future reference, Songkick or The Boston Calendar are pretty good resources to find spontaneous events and live venues. They should let you know what's happening on any particular night.
Haha, fuck knows. Looks like a glitch on the website I use for the gigs.
Either that or he's our resident /r/glasgow one-man band and wrote our as yet unnamed subreddit anthem.
More than half do standup still. Seinfeld is pretty active.
http://m.ticketmaster.com/Jerry-Seinfeld-tickets/artist/795942
Chris Rock, Louis CK, and others.
Carol Burnett has begun adding dates for 2016 http://www.songkick.com/artists/523974-carol-burnett
And I'm sure Tracy Morgan who I didn't mention will add dates toward the end of 2016 beginning of 2017. He's already scheduled to do SNL on Oct 17th.
Looks like Bleachers to me!
Their website only lists shows through April, but a show calendar HERE, shows that they're playing through June, including a show in Indy on the 7th, which is (obviously) great routing for a Bunbury stop.
I just saw Goblin play a few weeks ago and they put on an amazing live show. The second half of their set was mainly music from Suspiria and Zombi and it was just as creepy live as it is on the screen.
I'd definitely recommend checking them out if they're playing near you this summer.
A good resource for upcoming shows is Songkick.com. It lists everything from Elton John @ PPG to the Bastard Bearded Irishmen at a random Irish pub.
Also, its just about Free Concert season in the burgh, so be sure to check out the Arts Fest, Jazz Fest, Allegheny County Concert Series, Final Fridays at Schenley Plaza, and others for free shows with great acts.
It sucks but most venues are 21+. Check out shows at Everybody Hits (http://www.songkick.com/venues/2715528-everybody-hits), PhilaMoca (http://www.philamoca.org/calendar/) and look around facebook for West Philly punk houses.
http://www.songkick.com/concerts/30385384-roots-at-jazz-cafe
Pricey ticket, but The Roots are some live band! (There is an early show and a late one.) Not exactly Adele but hey ho, you could always go see Justin Beiber?
I have a feeling the past year is going to give them some real inspiration for a new record! I wouldn't bet against another coming out soon.
http://www.songkick.com/artists/182957-godspeed-you-black-emperor there are 5 dates in France and 1 in the UK this autumn! Fingers crossed for more UK dates...
Don't forget Thundercat and Starfucker:
http://www.ticketfly.com/event/1488402-thundercat-orlando/
http://www.songkick.com/concerts/29698899-strfkr-at-beacham
That said, I saw Thundercat at the Beacham (before Flying Lotus) and the bass was terrible, could barely make out a note.
If you are close to Anchorage, THIS should show all the concerts coming to your area! Not sure if they have other cities from Alaska in their database, just checked for Anchorage.
If you're in school at Western I'd recommend using their gym facilities or look to try and join and intramural sport team. Western also has a lot of clubs if you're not into physical activity. Naturewise - There's the arboretum behind the school, locust beach, whatcom falls park, and larrabee state park. Alternatively, Bellingham is a great town for live music. Some of my favorite times in that town have come from watching people playing house shows in garages, basements, and cleared out living rooms. Most of the venue shows are gonna be 21+ but Western hosts some really cool shows as well. The Underground Coffee house has some cool performances and activities. Keep an eye out for annual bellingham events... They're usually season related ("Downtown Sounds" "Ski-to-Sea", thriller dance parade on halloween) There used to be a lowkey circus that happened once-a-month. There's an alternative library, and a bunch of other ones. Learn to Disc Golf! or play Horseshoes at Cornwall Park. They also LARP there. Ryan Stiles owns a comedy club downtown. You mentioned movies, but there are some great alternative film places you might not have explored downtown as well.
I know he went to an ICP event before and loved it, they're not his favorite band or anything but that's totally his scene. Lots of loose goth chicks and pot smoke. http://www.songkick.com/concerts/27508639-insane-clown-posse-at-arena-at-the-central-wyoming-fairgrounds
Psst.. you can buy aftershock tickets now here: http://www.songkick.com/festivals/745774-monster-energy-aftershock/id/27266054-monster-energy-aftershock-2016
Probably worth it to beat the general sale crowd. (I also posted this in the megathread but thought people would want to see it.)
Glad to have made another fan! He has an incredibly unique sound.
Their ensemble is great - I think it was 5 or 6 of them up there. They have some of the best cohesion I've come across, with a very fluid live adaptation of the original tracks. I believe Douglas Appling (Emancipator) plays the majority of the instruments that you hear throughout, and just samples them appropriately on the studio tracks.
Cheers!
EDIT: I saw you mention you're in the UK. If you're near London, check out their ensemble while they're in town February 27th. You seriously won't regret it.
Songkick is your friend.
I'm excited about the Styx / Def Leppard / Tesla concert at the Forum on Sunday. I'm volunteering for a nonprofit doing a giveaway there so I get to go for free!
I'm not really sure exactly, but he definitely hasn't gone away or anything, as songkick shows he's been playing live. Whether we'll see more new music any time soon, I don't know.
Miracles of Modern Science is one of my favorite contemporary bands. Orchestral pop, with a lot of spirit. This will be my second time seeing them live. Tickets are $8 advance, show is on September 10.
I sort of researched this a little bit, because if this were to happen it would be one of the strangest and out-of-left-field gigs I would have ever heard of, but apparently according to this site (http://www.songkick.com/concerts/24661179-neutral-milk-hotel-at-glanusk-estate?utm_source=15&utm_medium=partner) they're supposed to be doing a gig in Powys, UK on the 23rd, which is of course tomorrow. I have no clue how they even got mentioned on Young Thug's tour details, maybe it was some typo, who knows?
Indigo Kidz supported and set up by the infamous Fricktion and accompanied by Blair Mitchell and Konspiricy Kamp at Rupert's Brew House. Not to plug my cousin or anything... I guess Songkick has decent info/links.
Link from DFD's page: http://www.songkick.com/concerts/22601108-dumbfoundead-at-virginia-polytechnic-institute-tech-coliseum?utm_source=1471&utm_medium=partner
I can't find any official news from Tech or who's sponsoring, so if anyone knows..
Any gigs? ANY GIGS?
Try looking through here and see if anything takes your fancy. Bear in mind most big artists will likely be sold out but you may get lucky.
Let's see how many I can remember...
The internet reminds me I've also seen:
and a bunch more I can't remember. I still have a sad that the Johnny Cash concert I had tickets for got canceled.
Let me emphasize too that Janes Addiction was the biggest most awful piece of shit disappointment of a concert I've ever been to. White Zombie I had free tickets to and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Mike Watt is the coolest musician I've ever met.
plenty, st louis has a great bar scene. personal favorites (and close to where loufest is) are the Grove and Central West End neighborhoods. highlights in the grove - atomic cowboy, urban chestnut, sanctuaria, the gramophone highlights in central west end - brennan's, sub zero, wildflower
the gramophone is having music all three nights
there are a ton of other concerts that weekend at 1 AM and 3 AM venues all over the city
I find Songkick works well in Japan for following more mainstream bands. Tokyo Gig Guide is up-to-date for most live houses in Tokyo I believe.
PollStar appears to list results for Japan. If it's a band on a world tour, it'll likely show up no matter where they go.
Been there. Pula (and actually the entire peninsula of Istria) is awesome.
Long story:
I've been on holiday to Pula two years ago. Back then they were kind of renovating the entire amphitheater, but they were also tearing down a stage at the same time. About a month ago I went back to Croatia and even though we were ~2 hours away (by car) from Pula, there were a lot of billboards (might not be the word I'm looking for. Those things you see around traffic signs and lamp posts) about Status Quo performing in the amphitheater in Pula.
It's a bit of a longshot, but if anyone is into Venetian Snares (or breakcore in general) he's playing at Soup Kitchen on the 25th of May. Here's a link to buy tickets and if you're unfamiliar with the kind of music he produces, give this a click.
Going to the movie theater is a cheap way to get out of the house on a Saturday night. It beats shelling out a couple of hundred bucks on parking & Styx tickets for two.
Ticket sales have been holding steady in the 1.3 to 1.4 billion range since 2005 despite the rise of affordable HDTVs. It's impossible to replicate a 70 foot RPX screen, Dolby Digital Atmos & the smell of popcorn at home.
I always use songkick to check for concerts: http://www.songkick.com/metro_areas/28443-germany-berlin?utf8=%E2%9C%93&filters%5BminDate%5D=02%2F10%2F2014&filters%5BmaxDate%5D=02%2F14%2F2014 Hope this helps :)
Apparently, they'll be in Boston on April 1.
This show has been posted there for a while. I didn't believe it at first, but it makes so much sense considering the Coachella dates.
There's not really any solid upcoming tour from them. You can keep an eye on their schedule on things like SongKick and their facebook (though that is run by fans, not the actual band).
Just saw ScHoolboy and A$AP Rocky in Boston in Friday night, they were sick. Definitely worth checking out the tour if they come to a city near you
Ghostland Observatory on Friday, Oct. 26th.
Something Wicked Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27th.
Justice on Sunday, Oct. 28th
I use a website called Songkick. You track your local cities, you track your favorite artists, and when they collide they're posted on your page and emailed to you. You can even export your events to your favorite calendar.
I also Like my artists and event coordinators on Facebook. Here in Dallas, we have one called Full Access Dallas that basically post events and listings. I've also Liked things like Insomniac, Massive Intent, Bassrush, etc.
Don't know your location but Tycho is on Tour right now in Eastern US then Europe. Just caught them in Toronto. Great stuff with the live instruments. Here's the Tour Dates http://www.songkick.com/artists/362309-tycho/calendar?page=1
I use songkick.com. It takes bands you likes and sends you a reminder when they're in town and you can track as many as you want. It also takes you straight to the site to buy tickets too.
One thing you can do is to use songkick They will send you fairly regular emails for venues you ask for and also for artists you decide to track. I use it and I quite like it.
not sure how well known this service is, but Songkick syncs with your last.fm account and le-mails you about new concerts from the bands you listen.
I was rubbish at planning myself and finding out about concerts in London until I found out about it. http://www.songkick.com/
There's a gig going on in Tufnel park on the 14th of October that is pretty Pschy.
Shellac are playing on the 10th at the Electric ballroom in Camden, Steve albini is the tits, and they always do a good show.
Slowdive at the roundhouse in Camden on the 13th if you like some shoegaze, it's a cool venue.
Mr Scruff for some tea and jazzy beats on the 14th at koko, doors open at 10, and he does notoriously long sets, so it might be a good call for after the psych gig at tufnel park which isn't far.
Back to the Electric ballroom for the breeders on the 18th.
Placebo at Brixton academy on the 24th, the Horrors on the 29th at koko, then Melvins on the 31st back in Brixton to finish off.
Hopefully something off that list will tickle your fancy. If you want a more extensive list, check out songkick or last.fm and you can find gigs in London for the dates you are coming. Enjoy!
UPDATE: New dates discovered
September 14th: Le Batofar, Paris, France September 17th: Patronaat, Haarlem, Netherlands
I can't speak to Chic, but it looks like The National are in the UK the entire month of September and then are doing shows every Saturday in October, sorry:
http://www.songkick.com/artists/405285-national/calendar
Now that I look at Arcade Fire's schedule more closely, they are doing a show in Dallas on Thursday the 28th. So I doubt they would be able to get to NY in time to prepare to do SNL on the 30th. I wonder if that means the premiere will be October 7th.
Glad you liked them! Perturbator is actually on tour right now; you can see the tour dates here.
You might also like Magic Sword. In the Face of Evil and Uprising are probably my favorite songs by them.
they are currently on tour
http://www.songkick.com/artists/222485-deerhunter
Also, Lotus Plaza is Lockett Pundts side project and he has released some really great shoegazey/dream pop records
Bradford Cox also has a side project called Atlas Sound which also offers some really great stuff...Check those out too!
I gotchu fam. It'd be a damn shame to miss out on all that booty shaking
Come on. They had just one hit single in the US according to their discography.
Led Zep filled massive stadiums. Oasis filled halls and theatres in the US and stadiums outside the US. http://www.songkick.com/artists/548892-oasis/gigography?page=9
so on some event pages it says he was playing Friday 9/2 at XS. When I tried to pay tix, it says the event didn't exist.
Then I found this: http://www.songkick.com/concerts/27103794-dj-snake-at-xs-the-nightclub-at-encore
However I just bought tix and it says just Diplo/Skrillex. So I'm confused.
he doesn't have much hype around him? what? have you seen his tour schedule? or the amount of people dying to go to his live show? the dude is on practically every major festival lineup and is speaking at EDMbiz
the hype around him is absurd....
Often true. But, Radiohead does play in Mexico City on Monday after the first weekend. They might want a day or two buffer for travel. Sunday would make it a tight schedule.
http://www.songkick.com/artists/253846-radiohead/calendar
Songkick lists each Friday as their tour dates in addition to the whole ACL Festival weekends.
There ain't much that I can think of... Decades ago Sam Black Church used to hit up Maine quite frequently... But I dunno if they really count as metal.
I guess yer best bet in Portland would be Geno's... but I am operating on what must certainly be out-of-date information.
http://www.songkick.com/venues/888196-genos-rock-club/gigography
Hopefully they'll do a full tour this year. And hey look what derons up too Mecha cky is playing same shitty tiki bar again yet its listed as "CKY" http://www.songkick.com/concerts/26631099-cky-at-tiki-bar?utm_source=8789&utm_medium=partner and heres its CKY with MechaCkY https://www.bandsintown.com/event/11765611-cky-costa-mesa-tiki-bar-2016?artist=CKY&came_from=178
Bhaha you are a fucking moron. Like grade A shit.
You know nothing about financial shit, and nothing about music careers.
All this could have been prevented by asking Siri how much a fucktard you are for not googling your shit first.

He has given 30 concerts so far this year and next one up is with snoop dog. How can he be NOT popular.
Even if he secluded himself in a mountain hole somewhere he will still hear his shit getting bumped by berbers or some shit.
Thanks for letting me know Im not the biggest moron on this planet.
I know quite a few people who temporarily (or in some cases permanently) moved to Japan to pursue a career in music. Japan is an ideal location because:
There are laws in Japan which make it easier for touring and performing musicians to make a living. By comparison, in most of Europe and North America musicians are lucky if they can simply break even.
There are laws in place which encourage album sales, and discourage file-sharing. Although these laws would be seen as oppressive by most of the folk here on Reddit, they benefit musicians in Japan nonetheless.
Japan contains such a wide variety of cultural influences that if a musician can do well there, they can very likely do well in other parts of the world as well.
Take a look at some of the upcoming shows in Japan, and you'll see a few notable acts that aren't touring elsewhere right now -- Dianna Krall, Toto, Brian Wilson, Eric Clapton, Keith Emerson, M83, Radiohead, Weezer, Underworld -- these are all acts that are playing within the next four months. And they're not playing in Japan because they're washed-up, but because in Japan musicians of their caliber only need to play one or two shows every few years to make a lot of money.
If you're going to move anywhere for your music career's benefit specifically, it really ought to be Japan. As I said, I know quite a few people who moved to Japan to make a career for themselves in the music industry. Some of them made it, and went on to establish themselves globally, where they now tour, and some of them were making such good money in Japan they decided to never leave. And yes, I know some people who moved to Japan for their music career and didn't make it, but I honestly don't think they had what it takes to make it anywhere, so take that for it's worth.
So according to songkick, Parquet Courts has added some dates to their tour, but I've spent all morning trying to find a legit statement from the band suggesting a tour and the only thing I could find is their website with some missing dates and the venues putting tickets on sale. It doesn't help that they're not very social online.
EDIT: nvm Rough Trade confirmed it hours later
This station is non-operational* :P
