I drove to Huntsville from Auburn in 2003 to go to Big Spring Jam, mostly to see String Cheese Incident and moe. Here's the 2003 lineup. It was a great lineup. Some big name acts, some smaller acts and some cool local bands.
The most recent Big Spring Jam in 2011, and the lineup sucked so badly that I wouldn't even drive 15 minutes from Madison to see it. It failed because they booked shit acts, and the complete refusal of the BSJ management to acknowledge this still blows my mind.
BSJ is dead and gone, and should stay that way. The name has been sullied by mismanagement. But it would be pretty sweet if we built something new and awesome instead. This would be a great thing for Downtown Huntsville, Inc to work on.

A while back I happened across (read "found in a Reddit post") an app that uses Bluetooth to scan for HC-05 skimmers, which supposedly are the most popular sort. I don't know if it's available in the iPhone store, but I've included the link for the Android version below. It doesn't do anything about the skimmers, just alerts you to their presence.

I'd try airbnb and Craigslist.
You can negotiate with hosts on airbnb if you plan on being a regular.
I'd take a hard look at this place if you're looking to save -
$18 per night. This house is similar to our rental home so it's under 1k square feet but the price is solid, she's got good reviews, etc. At 5 nights a week, that's $360 a month.
Here is a post from my nextdoor group as I live down Zierdt road https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=69951701
If it doesn't allow you to view it here are a few quotes from people who attended and some images:
"To make a long story short, they still don't have the required right of way for Zierdt, hoping to have it by March, once they have it, it will take 30 months to complete. Meanwhile, if I heard correctly (the microphone and speakers were really bad) they intend to let a contract in January to start Martin Road, and that will take 24 months."
"I think when you look back over the recent history of the project you just about have to conclude that money was reappropriated from the Martin and Zierdt projects to other projects that Battle and company considered to be of higher priority some time in 2013. Then they went back and requested ATRIP funds to backfill the void. That's the only real explanation for starting out in late 2012 and then hitting the brakes for almost two years until construction started on the northbound lanes in February 2015."
As already stated, WiFi is terrible at penetrating through objects, so having a wall (or floor) in the way will already reduce your signal.
I don't know what an Apple equivalent is, but there's a free app on Android called WiFi Analyzer that tells you the strength of a WiFi signal in dBm. You can go around your home and see where it's weak and strong and try to position the router better in your house using that.
As far as the router itself, angling the antennas differently can help a signal. Also, having 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz on the same antenna can reduce the signal of each other, so you can try going with one of the other if you're able to. 2.4 Ghz has better penetration, but 5 Ghz has better speed.
For not getting your full gigabit speed, routers may have gigabit Ethernet ports on them, but that doesn't always mean the processor can handle that speed. My $200 dedicated router by Ubiquiti can't even do full Gigabit unless I turn off features like Quality of Service because the quad core processor inside of it just isn't powerful enough. The Nighthawk R7000P only has a dual core processor, and it's also trying to handle your WiFi and switching.
File an FCC complaint. Every complaint helps build a stronger case against this kind of stuff. Comcast does the same thing.
If you want to avoid this, use a VPN and use a secure DNS (OpenDNS & DNSCrypt) or change your DNS from what the ISP provides. I would recommend NordVPN as they have both VPN and a secure DNS option.
If none of that suits you, try to use HTTPS on every site that supports it. that should help you out. Comcast did this same thing to warn me about meeting 90% of my data cap.
I'd recommend trying out IFTTT. If OP is unfamiliar, you basically go to craigslist and run your search with you filters, then copy/paste the address into the IFTTT (IF This, Then That) setup and you can get alerts when new posts are made. I have it set up for like housing rental and couches right now.
If you have a lot of sanding in your future, especially large wall sections, do yourself a favor and get one of these. Pays for itself in just a couple of hours - so SO handy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HRL9XYI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_U6mg92vFi2sQn
DIY buy a spool of cat5e, rj 45 tips, crimpers, faceplates all from Home Depot and it very much doable.
Or go wireless. Another option is using powerline Ethernet adapters if you want the high speed amazon tp link
This is a hard one. I'm a designer and I hate to see people crowdsourcing design from Fiverr and devaluing the profession. Good design ain't cheap but I know that paying for a logo as a startup isn't always smart or doable.
Best case scenario would be to find a friend or acquaintance with some design skill willing to invest in your company and design something for a discounted price. (or message me with what you're looking for and I might be able to help you out or refer you to someone)
Otherwise I'd take a look here: https://creativemarket.com/templates/logos
Either way stay away from trendy and overly complicated logos. A nice font with proper spacing will get you most of the way. Add in a decent color palette and your brand is off to a solid start and you can improve on it down the road.
It is near impossible to find seasoned firewood around here, most of the stuff sold is not properly seasoned. I gave up trying to find seasoned firewood, built some ricks in my back yard and buy fire wood in the spring and let it season till fall.
Pretty much any tree service sells firewood around here. Just call around. Craigslist has a lot of listings too.
Get a moisture meter of Amazon so you don't get screwed. Moisture should be under 20%. https://smile.amazon.com/General-Tools-MMD4E-Moisture-High-Medium-Low/dp/B00275F5O2/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wood+moisture+meter&qid=1605796799&sr=8-5
I use noise canceling in my SCIF w/o an issue but we don't have inspections.
Don't get Bose or a nice brand. They might walk off.
I like the big, bulky AF headphones. People know you're not listening to them and/or busy. Some even keep on walking by (I hope).
I still use my ATH-M50s. Audio-technica produces good products.
There's the 30 that's still around: https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M30x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUQW8/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Audio-Technica&qid=1603998260&s=electronics&sr=1-4
Best Buy price matches amazon, Link Here, so I would just browse their selection, and find the cheaper price on one of their instock items and go that route.
Redfcu for convenience. They have a $100 for both parties if refering a friend going on right now. Shoot me a PM.
I use Ally for high yield savings account. Slickdeals has a good thread.
Penfed has had the best rates on loans for me. Got 0.99% on a used Tacoma and 3.25% on a house. They will pay closing costs if you use one of their realtors.
It is not there; most of the land is now Edgewater. This Pic might help figure out where the sign was. Ziert is the road running along the left side of the map, Hwy 20 at the bottom and Martin Rd at the top. It is looking towards the south.
And if you look at Google Maps there is a Space Age Rd that dead ends at 565 So I would assume the sign that was stated as being on Hwy 20 (aka Madison Blvd) would have been right in the middle of the strip mall past The Enchanted Garden there.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/fibromyalgia/symptoms-causes/syc-20354780
I am familiar with this condition and know many people that are able to manage it without being in public attempting to make decisions allegedly for the public good without being obviously significantly impaired. If her pain is too much to tolerate then she needs to step down.
Before I cut the cord, I had extended basic cable ($151.75), with digital preferred ($16.95), 3 digital boxes (because you have to have boxes now to get anything), and an HD box ($23.95). I also had Edge internet ($15). All taxes and all the other bullshit included, my bill was $220.
Fuck. That. $220 a month for hundreds of channels of reality TV garbage that we weren't hardly watching anyways.
Cut that down to just Edge Internet (their 25 megabit plan). My bill is now $61. Anything else I want to watch is on Hulu ($7), Netflix ($9) or Amazon Prime ($99/year, which we already pay for shipping). Also bought an antenna and get ~20 over the air stations, including all the major networks, for free.
Once football season rolls around I'll probably add in a Sling subscription just for football season. Cancel it at the end.
At the Southside dog park I saw a flyer for custom built dog houses hanging on a sign. (The one off of Chaney Thompson). I don't remember the information otherwise I'd give it to you. But they looked very nice in the pictures and had the option to add air conditioning!
EDIT: They appear to be on the local Facebook martketplace. Look for the fancy ones with an air unit on them, lol. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/191485378238189
No recommendations for a service, but being both old and cheap I opted for this a few years back. Makes quick work of it and I never touch a ladder. 'Course I'm in a one story, so there's that.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQX8OER/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I never knew I needed this in my life and I'm not old...just cheap. I've been using this thing, but got it from Northern Tool in Madison for like $20. I use our backpack blower to backflush and clear the downspouts then rinse them with the sprayer wand. That grabber thing looks cool.
This kit is what I bought.
We did a local international market tour this weekend here locally!
Picked up some ingredients and then got out this moderately difficult taco cookbook last night. I picked up some guajillo peppers (really should have gotten serrano ones though) and am going to make the salsa and tacos al pastor from the cookbook. It's a very sophisticated cookbook with a lot of authentic ingredients so it's a challenge.
Indian Bazaar was AMAZING on University. We're going to make a pretty basic curry but Indian Bazaar had lots of pre-mixed dough blends and sauce blends which is great for trying small recipes for the first time. They had an extensive freezer section too. Picked up paneer nuggets and bread and chutney. So much goodness to choose from.
If you want some aerospace historical stuff there is a set of Huntsville history postcards you can buy on Amazon or books a million.
Huntsville Air and Space (Postcards of America) https://www.amazon.com/dp/0738566667
Fair. I took a look at a common Filtrete size on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Filtrete-Ultimate-Allergen-Reduction-1-Inches/dp/B00TUDHSM6/
It's a dollar more per filter versus ours, so that's pretty much a wash - but you can't order single filters, only two or more. That's part of my value proposition. A lot of homes have different-sized returns, and the idea is that you get a built-in "time to change" reminder when they arrive.
Appreciate the feedback on the design, I tried to keep it as simple as possible!

Out in huntsville down wall triana(away from madison, towards the airport) there is a light industrial area with tons of ware houses. JIT shipping is one i can think of. Also siemens is across the street from JIT and between the JIT building and the street is another warehouse/JIT company but i cant remember their name. Congrats on coming around on the clean-car thing. I've had good luck with On The Spot. Alternatively, there are a couple of groupons that might be worth a look. Good luck.
Idk how kosher it is to recommend other platforms here but I see great advice in the Hike it Baby Huntsville group on Facebook. Everywhere I've found indicated FTTH (fiber to the home) and FTTP (fiber to the premise) are the same thing.
This link does a good job of describing the various fiber deployments, and I haven't found any sites that conflict with it.
TL:DR:
FTTH/FTTP are same thing just giving a more consumer friendly "home" terminology instead of "premise". Fiber line goes all the way to the network gateway.
FTTB is fiber to the building which has a small amount of copper between the fiber end point and the actual network gateway.
FTTC is fiber to the curb. Similar to FTTB, just the fiber terminates outside the building so copper is what actually brings the signal into the building and to the gateway. Still just a signal building per fiber end point.
FTTN is fiber to the node, where a whole area of buildings/customers are served by a single fiber endpoint. This is basically what you described in your FTTP description.
Edit: Also,
>if someone on your ONT/PON is using too much data, you'll feel it. Think of it like DSL.
This isn't an accurate description of DSL. This is more along the lines of how typical cable internet works. DSL is much less prone to congestion, as you have a dedicated service line that you don't share with others in your area. On cable, all of the users on the node have their traffic go across a single line once the signal makes it to the street (I've literally seen cable internet installed on my street. The whole street gets one fat ass line (with a copper line that isn't much bigger than the in home coax copper) and everyone's line just ties into it).
Car prices have gone up in the past year (along with so much else). I would try making an account on nextdoor.com and check facebook marketplace. Sub $5k cars are usually in neighborhoods or by word of mouth. They go quick.
I hate the way I feel in low humidity. I monitor the dew point, and when it drops below ~48ºF I turn on my humidifier. I find that the inside humidity will always be a bit higher, just because we exhale moisture, and from water use in the house.
I use this site to see the forecasted dew point. Click customize to add the dew point to the graph. Click Change to select the closest weather station.
https://www.wunderground.com/forecast/us/al/huntsville/KALHUNTS73
I use the humidity meter to adjust the humidifier's output. I try to keep it between 50-55%.
There is a place here that people use a lot to ride 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. There are several trails that go a little ways into the woods. To get there I think you have to take the very first right after you cross the bridge going North on the parkway. Just be aware of the mud and lakes!
I think there is also a similar area near the bridge on the other side of the river with a large gravel area and some dirt roads.
Have fun!
Drive to airport, get pilots licence, rent plane, fly to KHSV... :)
In all seriousness US31 and US72 will get you to 565 just add about 45 minutes to your drive time for traffic lights and such. I'd probably get off at AL36 in Hartselle in case it backs up before the Priceville/Decatur exit.
Handy directions for 31 to 565 from Bham
Handy directions to points in South Huntsville via AL36 and US231 from Bham Look out for meth heads though....
Here is a Wal-Mart in Atlanta that has a lot of the parking beneath the store. Something like this may be doable for the existing Drake Ave location.
No.
The instructor is Dr. Gilbert. The man doesnt care about testing and he works the solutions to the "homework" in class. All you have to do is listen to his crazy stories and write 3-4 sentences about each class in a course journal thing. Besides that, you give a 5 minute presentation on whatever you want technology related. Literally.
edit: Oh yea, as a side note, HE'S A MILLIONARE THAT ALWAYS TALKS ABOUT NAZIS AND ALIENS.
There is another dog park/playground at Creekwood Park in West Huntsville close to Indian Creek Greenway and Cummings Research Park.
Getting them fixed certainly is a first and foremost responsibility. Ideally, they need a few days to heal but they don't require anything fancy as far as facilities.
The Florence shelter is really full so if you can avoid leaving them there, that's ideal. I'm excited to see someone in the thread offering to adopt so that helps. See if NLOL can help with shots and dewormer too.
The restaurant should ask its folks if someone could take them for a week. They should also post signs that their patio kittens are available for adoption once fixed as well. Maybe they'll work with you there since you're doing them a solid. Canva.com is a great online program I use for cat rescue marketing material.. you can make some cute flyers if they'll let you post them.
Something blatantly corny..
TACO KITTENS NEED A HOME in "queso" cars and predators! and then some other stuff. If you need sign wording help, I can give you a few ideas that don't suck as bad as queso.
I too wanted to see it, locally. Sadly, the closest showtimes are:

I definitely can't do that.
You need a P25 Phase II capable radio. This is the most affordable one I found a while back when I wanted to get back into scanning:

Homeowner here, approx half of my windows face due west. I DIY'd a mirror style tint on westward facing windows last year (something like this). Much cooler with the additional benefit of added daytime privacy.
Super simple to put up as well. Measure windows. Cut the size needed. Clean the windows thoroughly, spray with diluted mild dish soap, squeeze the bubbles out with an old credit/gift card.
Downside is that we lose out on natural heating from sunlight in the winter, however.
But seriously, it blocks out a sizeable portion of heat. The floors underneath my eastward-facing windows get very warm under full sunlight during the summer. The westward-facing ones remain near room temp, even in direct sunlight.
Decent benefits for minimal cost and effort? Highly recommend. All in all, I spent about $100 and a couple hours getting my windows tinted.
By CW I assume you mean WHDF Channel 15?
I have no idea where the tower is, but I pick it up just fine out here SE of New Market--and we're in amongst the mountains.
The HD antenna we have is a Blimark HDTV Indoor Antenna mounted on the roof (so I guess it works outdoors as well :-), which we bought from Amazon back in 2006. They no longer carry it, which isn't terribly surprising after fourteen years. At least you can see the style and specs.
It picks up all the local OTA broadcasters without a glitch, and manages through nearly all rainstorms as well, when the satellite signal gets cut off.
We ordered a set of four on amazon for like $15 in all different colors. We couldn't find anyone local, but these were what we found online.
Amazon. I got the larvae stage. Reviews are mixed, taking a chance.
I installed https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYMVPVX/ in my attic recently. I mounted it directly to an existing roof strut. It was easy enough to run the RG6 through the attic into an existing hole in the wall's top plate and terminating the coax where I needed it.
It's nice having local news... especially for weather events.
So I wasn't the only Huntsville Redditor in attendance!
A couple things he said that struck me:
- There are Alabama journalists doing good, important work, on issues that people ought to know about. The problem they face is getting that work in front of people. And he wasn't necessarily talking about the public at large, but even just getting it to the people who would in fact be interested in it--if they knew about it. Good, important work too often doesn't have that Wow! sizzle, so it doesn't grab the headlines. Without the "clicks," the algorithm pushes it down the stack to where it just doesn't surface even to those readers who might be interested in it. (Versus scanning the headlines on a page of an old school newspaper.) The purpose (at least, John's purpose) in having a newsletter then is that people who are into the issues that John writes about and covers will get pointers to those stories they wouldn't otherwise stumble across.
- On the subject of "clicks," he said that on the wall of the newsroom(?) there's a monitor that on the left side lists the stories getting the most clicks over the last day, while on the right side is the list of stories getting the most clicks in the last ten minutes. It's not hard to imagine then the pressure on a reporter to select and present stories that will get them on that monitor.
Overall I enjoyed his talk, he was very personable and his passion for journalism in the pursuit of seeing people get a fair shake was evident. Plus, he signed my copy of his book!
While my books aren’t (yet) for sale locally, you can order a paperback of Apocalypse Parenting #1: Time to Play off of Amazon. (You can also gift someone an eBook from Amazon. Here's how.) You should check it out if you:
• like post-apocalyptic literature, litRPG, or pop sci-fi, but would be interested in seeing a protagonist who isn’t a single young adult without attachments or responsibilities
• wonder why more science fiction isn’t set in the Huntsville area when it’s basically the nerd capital of the south
• want to support a local author with over 4.7 stars on Amazon, almost 200 reviews, and an audiobook coming early next year produced by Podium Audio
I should note that the paperback cover will be updated to match the redone eBook cover in the next few months, which could either be a selling point (limited edition! Could be a collector's item if I make it big!) or the opposite. Food for thought either way. I'm also part of Kindle Unlimited, so you can check me out for no extra charge if you have that service.

I've seen a lot of people use IKEA bookcases as bases for this. Seems pretty easy in comparison to fully DIY.
My mom fills her sink up with nearly-boiling water and drops a dollop of silver polishing cream in it, and stirs it around until the cream dissolves. She washes things with a soft cloth, rinses under hot water, and dries by hand. She has a lot of stuff like silver bells and candlesticks and says this is the fastest way to polish and clean a lot of smaller things.
That's a fairly low budget for that many people, I think. Especially including accommodations and any, uh, adult entertainment options you might want. That said, grab pizza and beers at Big Ed's then go to SiP for an expensive cocktail before heading to the Pony. Maybe this place for the night?
Indian Creek Greenway unless you’re already using that.
Mill Creek Greenway

Rainbow Mountain might be too rocky/steep for the dog
Lost Sink Trail and Bethel Land Trust Loop. Both are moderately challenging with a nice waterfall going underground at the end (unless there's been no rain recently). They're close to each other, so you could possibly do both in the same day if you're in good enough shape.
I would recommend the Certain Trail. It's pretty steep at first, but then it plateaus to an incredible vista of south Huntsville and Hampton Cove nearby, makes it worth the effort. All the land trust trails are very well marked. Sturdy shoes and a water bottle should give you a couple of hours of great outdoor exercise.
You can buy dried soba noodles at any Asian market, and they can be very good. Boil in plenty of water, and rinse thoroughly. They also sell the sauce/broth - look for a bottle labeled "soup base" or "tsuyu".
Sure. I bought this one because we wanted a home-sized unit. (I think I paid $80, maybe it was a cyber Monday or Prime Day deal.) There are others that are smaller and more affordable for use in an RV or car. It’s been a great investment for us.
We had Basset hounds many years ago. I would always bring along their doggy cart because they were one-way only dogs.

Talstar Pro: https://www.amazon.com/Talstar-Pro-Gal-Multi-Insecticide/dp/B004TY89YM
This is a barrier product - does not kill instantly but will kill everything that traverses the barrier after application.
You can also spray inside with this product - although I would suggest a weaker mix of Talstar to Water. Spray around appliances and other places where bugs like to hang out. Same premise applies - this will dry and leave a barrier that will kill bugs after they walk across it.
Garage: Minimize stuff on the floor and random debris; place glue traps on the floor along the walls. Most use these glue traps for rodents, mine catch all sorts of other things (spiders, beetles, lizards, baby snakes) the enter my garage.
Inside house: tidy floor (no piles of clothes, etc), sweep/vacuum frequently, knock down any webs you see.
Treat garage and inside of home with insecticide, if possible (since you have pets); link to DIY option: https://www.amazon.com/Ortho-Defense-Insect-Perimeter2-Comfort/dp/B01N7KSXHX

You'll never keep everything out, but with this approach, you can minimize the number of insects invading your garage and home.
Diatomaceous Earth works VERY well. But I'd like to add an addendum for your safety. Some grades of Diatomaceous Earth contain crystalline silica and is unsafe to inhale if it's airborne. Such as when applied with a duster.
Secondly, you need to make sure to buy FOOD GRADE in case one of your cats puts some in their mouths. It's safer for ingestion.
You can pick it up on Amazon.
I wish you the best!
A remote thermometer can also be helpful to find hot/cold spots.

I haven't used that one, it's just similar to the one I have,
I got the USB-C FLIROne. I wouldn't call it great, but it works well enough for something in that package and isn't super bulk to carry around.

All these need is water. It was so effective that I got a second bag. With all the rain that we had this week, I spread it over some of the more muddy areas a few hours before the first day of rain (I think last Friday) and they were literally sprouting the next day. Fast forward to a week later (after rain each day) and they are already big enough to provide significant ground cover. One they are full size, they should be able to go weeks without rain -- technically they are weeds.
I don't know how they handle the winter but other parts of my lawn have gigantic clover patches that come back every spring -- so if they do die, they probably spread enough seeds that stay dormant when it starts getting cold.

I bought this one not too long ago and once I finally figured out how it works, it's been awesome. It's not hard to learn, I just read the manual too fast, plus it comes with an app, and it's reasonably priced.

It comes with a 32GB SD card, but I bought a larger one cause you'll be recording a lot.

Yeah. I don't go along with the liberal reddit narrative. I point out the problems with self destructive black culture and people claim I am racist. And pretend facts are not legit because it doesn't follow their liberal bullshit ideology. You should read this.

I am sure you will conclude that the author, Nick Pilgrim is a white supremacist.
Wrens will nest in or on anything, so you might would consider adding a bird box like this to the vicinity. Reason being, when they nest and the babies hatch, it will get messy quick.
Amazon.
I searched for chairs that support 300lbs + and went through several lists. I work 12 hour shifts remotely on weekends. This chair is great especially if you are skinnier. If you cant find this “brand” then look for one similar in style. Bought in Jun 2021 and its holding up great!
If it has to be an “office” chair I would still say amazon is your best bet. I got chairs from staples 2 years ago and they were crap.

Seems interesting, was kind of hoping that it was published around the time that the story takes place but it was published in 2013, either way, still may check it out.
I recommend VIOFO cams, specifically the A119 V3 or the A129.
They're good quality cameras and they use a capacitor instead of a Li-ion battery to finish recording when the power goes out.
This is especially important during our summer months, as you don't want a battery getting too hot in your car and damaging the camera or possibly igniting.
OK- so my log house in the woods has had infestations in the nooks and crannies for years, and we tried EVERYTHING. I had the house up on the market this Fall, and knew the "stinkbugs" (Box Elder Beetles) might dissuade buyers, so I bought a recommended product that actually worked!!!! Killed millions of Japanese Lady Beetles as well.
It leaves an invisible, non-stain insecticide on the structure that lasts for a few weeks even after rain.
We sold the house, too!
Hello!
I bought my (Blackvue camera)[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FD394P/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_7ZEQ6AW46X2C3GBY2CCD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1] in April of 2019, so 3 years now. It's still running strong with no issues. I went with the (Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB card)[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B984HJ5/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_MEGWZX5Y6VDWJN97B4RE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1]
A couple pieces of info that are hopefully helpful. I went with a 1 channel because my back window doesn't have a good place to mount the rear facing camera of a second channel. I wish I got 2 channel, but just doesn't work easily for my vehicle. The 128GB card holds about a 400+ miles of driving at maybe the highest or second to highest resolution before it starts looping. This is about 5-7 days of driving for me so it's good. I can wave my hand next to the camera to "save" a moment. But it doesn't really save it. And easier way to put it is it marks the spot in the footage so you can easily go back and find it. But I doubt you'd have a major issue and wait 2 weeks before downloading. I can sync straight to my phone via Bluetooth. I once witnessed an accident, and downloaded the video on the spot and sent it to the police investigating all while at the scene. It comes with decent software for transferring to the computer. I usually just transfer incidents into folders and then forget about them, so haven't played with that much. I personally never had an issue with heat, but my vehicle has a soft top so it may not get as hot as some cars? Not really sure if that's how things work. I installed it myself and it is not hooked up to battery. So it only runs while car is on.
If you have other specific questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer.
I wouldn’t get the popular Rexing one. I’ve had 2 of them and they both broke. I bought a non-brand-specific one on Amazon for $50 and it works great. Better build quality than the Rexing, too. Remember you have to get a separate microSD card to record the memory. Here is the link.
In the short term, several massive waves of flooding. See this video from a dam collapse in Brazil a few weeks ago. It would probably look like that. This would last several days as the water worked its way down the valley. If this includes the pumped storage facility in Raccoon Mountain, there would be a massive tsunami in that area.
There would be damage to fossil and nuclear plants, which are located next to rivers. It would plunge multiple states into complete blackout within hours.
Longer term, the entire region would be much more prone to flooding, especially on rain events like this week. TVA was originally created to control flooding, so much of the region would revert to it’s natural state. Much of the valley would be prone to floods, reducing the amount of arable land. Not just along the Tennessee river but along its tributaries as well. Any time we had a big rain, anywhere close to water would be at a much higher risk
Some previously inundated towns would resurface, providing some potential archaeological opportunities.
Lack of access to cheap plentiful power and land would reduce economic opportunities for the whole region. No more factories that rely on TVA mega sites.
TLDR: short term bad, long term worse. TVA is basically what makes modern life in this area of the country possible.
Your are dumb. You are sooo dumb: https://weather.com/storms/tornado/news/2018-05-01-violent-tornado-states
TL;DR: Alabama leads the nation, tied with Oklahoma, for F5 tornadoes since 1950. (Statistically, Texas lags in prevalence per sq. mi because it's fucking huge and its absolute number is meaningless when comparing prevalence vs. other states.) Most of the F4s and all of the F5 tornadoes have been north of Birmingham, i.e. our area. Dixie Alley tornadoes differ from those in the midwest/plains in that they travel over hilly terrain with trees (i.e. hard to see), are usually wrapped in rain (even harder to see), move at 40-60 MPH (fast as hell), and half the time they strike in the middle of the goddamn night.

Try to break this.
The nice thing I've noticed about a lot of Alabama houses is that many have ducting designed for the all-in-one type AC units (the type where the compressor assembly and forced air handler is integrated into a single unit on an outside wall of your house) If you've got a house with that kind of ducting it's hard for me to imagine someone charging much to install it once you've ordered it online (assuming you've done your homework and ordered the proper size replacement) because it's mostly a electrical connection and ducting fitment task. The more common 'split' arrangement? where the compressor is outside and the handler is somewhere inside and its all got to be replaced, evacuated and upgraded? Yes, I guess in that case there's no way around dealing with local majors.
Are you considering a heat pump?
I installed mine with the included plastic "pry" tool to install it, but dang that's a nice dashcam. I got a VAVA cam, works well enough.
I helped a friend install his 3 channel VanTrue dashcam last year. It took less than an hour using my trim tools.
This device pointed directly at the camera is invisible to you and others, but will flood the camera with bright light, rendering the recording useles

"CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAWYER by Richard D. Jensen, Esq. is the outrageous and often
hysterically funny memoir of one of America’s most respected – and notorious – criminal defense lawyers."
One of the reviewers claims he has been on Fox news. That raises his profile with me :)
I've used CJ and was satisfied. But full disclosure it was for an older car with a daily-driver amount of dings and scratches so I didn't really put their work under a microscope. CJ often has Groupons, if that helps you decide.
