I am really sorry this happened to you, if you can make it to harrys hill this weekend I will give you a small care package.
It won't make up for your plants in any sort of way. But it will be something, and I believe sunday is donation day, so won't have to pay anything for admission.
edit: If anyone else is reading, remember rules 1 and 2 of growing cannabis; don't tell anyone. Doesn't matter that it's legal now. Best case scenario when ripped off is it happens like OP, worst case is you end up dead or with a gun in your face over some plants.

That with extra sensors works very well for motion detection with very minimal false alerts, I believe this model works comparably, but haven't used it personally;
https://www.amazon.com/Guardline-Wireless-Driveway-Weatherproof-Detector/dp/B00HFZUKGM/
If you got tons of cash to throw at this issue, the best method of detection is with Seismic sensors like the military uses, however these are fairly hard to find and very costly.
FWIW, I highly recommend the Seresto collar for dogs.
I used to pull a dozen+ ticks off my dog after a walk in the woods, now I rarely find even one.
They're not cheap, but considering they last 8 months, it's really nothing.
I just wish such effective protection was somehow available for humans.
I think this year I'm going to take the time to treat a few pairs of pants with Permethrin.
There’s a post in NextDoor for Bangor where nurses are trying to fight it. here it is.
If nurses want to be respected as professionals, they need to start acting like professionals.
Under the GOP house tax plan graduate student would have to pay taxes on tuition which has been waived by the university. Me and my fellow Umaine graduate students get an annual stipend of ~20,000 then the university waives another 20,000 in tuition. Me having to pay taxes on an 'income' of 40,000 would cost me thousands of dollars. It'd make the stipend unlivable for many graduate students. And since graduate student funding is often set aside in advance by various external entities, simply giving us a raise might not be possible in the short-term. Many graduate students might be forced to drop out.
You should read 1491 and America Before. Also there a numerous journal entries that have been published about the true history of Columbus and westward expansion.

Just FYI, if you are getting to the level of ice chewing where you are posting for sources on Reddit, you may want to see a doctor. It's a legitimate disorder.
> Doctors use the term "pica" to describe craving and chewing substances that have no nutritional value — such as ice, clay, soil or paper. Craving and chewing ice (pagophagia) is often associated with iron deficiency, with or without anemia, although the reason is unclear. At least one study indicates that ice chewing might increase alertness in people with iron deficiency anemia.
> Less commonly, other nutritional problems may cause you to crave and chew ice. And in some individuals, pica is a sign of emotional problems, such as stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder or a developmental disorder.
> A thorough medical evaluation can help determine if pica is due to an underlying medical condition. If the cause of pica is an emotional or developmental issue, cognitive behavioral therapy may be helpful.
Good lord. I grew up in Brookline, MA, a city next to Boston. In first grade I walked to and from school every day, played outside, and walked to and from friends' houses all the time. My parents were pretty "normal."
Sure, there are crazy people out there who would hurt a child, but it's hardly a common occurrance. About 700 kids go missing every day. 80% are taken by a family member, 90% are found within "hours or days," and only 1/20th of 1% are kidnappings by strangers. That comes out to around one kid taken by a stranger in the US every three days. Could it happen? Sure, absolutely, but the overwhelming likelihood is that it won't.
If "normal" means that we're all so hyper-vigilant about policing not only our own children, but the children of strangers--to the point that we're taking kids away from parents who let their kids walk outside, unattended... the problem is not what could happen to the kids, it's what we're calling "normal."
Car accidents, by comparison, injure and kill FAR more kids every day. That doesn't inspire the same sort of thriller movie instant-freak-out response, though. Maybe we should place similarly tough penalties on people who drive dangerously, given the far greater likelihood that they'll harm a child? (and other people.)
I'm not saying that people shouldn't keep an eye on their kids, I'm saying that we shouldn't lose our sanity in the process.
Just as FYI. Many have reccommended going through Fryeburg/North Conway - this is "Fair Week". Traffic can be so horrible that you will not get a "nice scenic drive", you will sit in Fryeburg for 45 minutes trying to go 1000 feet. So, unless you plan to actually go to the fair, avoid the area.
Instead, try this route to Portland from VT.
I would suggest taking another pass on your site/resume. "Front End Development" can mean a lot of things. It looks like you specialize in WordPress development. This should be be prominent on the front page and resume. Add a blurb up top generalizing your experience and passions. Your years of experience should be highlighted somewhere as well as specific skills. If you follow a template (try https://zety.com/) it will help you get your resume up to snuff with content and formatting. Then you can take some of the content back and update your site with it. Don't be afraid to sell yourself!
Some NSFW language depending where you work.
One of my friends posted this on facebook saying his friend recorded the video, I don't know them myself but I figured I'd post here anyways.

For planning a road trip you can find useful some of the trip planning sites, such as planitro.com or roadtrippers.com. Those will give you rough estimation of time spent on travelling and will guide you through your itinerary.

Maine has the lowest SAT score.
Part of it is that a higher than average number of people in Maine take the SATs so some people that wouldn't take it at all in other states take it and make the score lower but part of it is just, welp, dumbs
If you don't mind saltwater, there are a bunch of marshes in Scarborough that are fairly easy to get to. There's even a kayaking company based in one of the marshes. You'll want to keep the tides in mind, though, because the change in water level in the marshes is quite dramatic, and you can't walk on marsh mud and your kayak could get really stuck if you're there when the water 'dries up'. Here's a map/satellite view. They're to the north-east of the Old Orchard Beach area.
i'm no stone wall expert but i have an academic background in rural land use management.
sure you know this already, but stone walls were typically property boundaries.
landscapes can change drastically over the course of a couple decades... you mentioned it doesn't make much sense as a farm boundary, but what is a swamp now could have been cleared land at one point. a bit hard to know without pictures or exactly what town/area you may be in. in 1870 there was nearly 7 million acres of farmland, now it's more like 1.5 million, just as an example.
The cliff walk around Prouts Neck in Scarborough. The almost non existent parking means there aren't too many tourists, even at the height of the season. Portland is a very fun little city. I'm not sure what your background is in, but there are many car dealerships hiring in that area, and you can make some really good money if you're in a high volume area. You can also check out some financial institutions like Bank of America. I would recommend looking for housing outside of the city. It's overpriced and many affordable apartments are total shit piles. You could find a decent apartment (or even a house for rent) in places like Westbrook, Scarborough, Biddeford, Saco, Falmouth, and Yarmouth. A short commute into the city will save you hundreds of dollars in rent.
A quick search on Indeed brought up this.
Looks like it pays well, has great benefits, and even a 401(k) plan.
I'm an Apple certified macintosh technician and I'd stay away from it. Apple released two versions in 2008, the early version can only run up to 10.7 while the later ones can run the latest version of OS X.
You can find part replacement guides here.
If the HDD is bad you can probably find a 120GB one pulled from an iPod for about $50 on ebay. You can also find a third party replacement MagSafe adapter for about $25 on ebay or amazon.

Not to be too classist, but I would choose Camden over the other two, less of a T-shirt town. Good dining, nice hikes, excellent shopping, and some pretty sick B&Bs (CastleView by the Sea). Plus, Rockland and Belfast are an easy drive if you get sick of Camden.
Not all of the data is going to result in a landmark breakthrough. But the simulations researchers need to run take time and are expensive.
A lot of the data is for esoteric pieces of an equation that has hundreds of variables so it's not going to be "after 1,000,000,000 CPU hours we've unlocked the cure to cancer!" or anything. It will be more like, we've identified the molecule shapes most likely to bind to these sites as part of drug research, that may pan out to something with more research in a few years.
You're helping them crank through failure faster in most cases.
I run it in the winter as a "do good" spaceheater - same amount of electricity and heat as a space heater, but it does something good.

VyprVPN more specifically. I've read good things about them. I like that the company is established out of the U.S. (Switzerland). I wasn't able to find their pricing though. How much does it cost for android and/or windows? I suppose I should ask if you use either one or both.

Well, "fell out" is a bit of an understatement. Seeing Hillary's and the Democratic party's brutal murder of their best candidate because he wasn't next in line was a key ingredient in my shift toward Trump. The Maine convention was quite interesting.
Although I definitely don't trust polls, apparently 10% of my fellow voters shifted with me:
It's not so much about how Bernie's and Trump's politics are different, but more about their shared non-conformity. I don't vote for corrupt, untrustworthy politicians who make politics their career. I was also really pissed at the Democratic party after I had seen Obama and Hillary abuse their power with Executive overreach and nepotism. Remember that Bernie wasn't a Democrat until 2015 so be could run for President, so they saw him as an outsider too.
Thank you for the good information. When you mentioned you purchase sand at Home Depot I did some quick research; The town of Freeport has free sand for its residents (this is very common of most Maine towns).
The Public Works Department would like to pass on a few friendly reminders for the upcoming winter season:
Not much for attractions downeast.
Go over to Great Wass Preserve off of Beals Island
Here is more to do. Take your time it is a long read: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g29475-Activities-Addison_Maine.html
Most of the tourist stuff is more towards Acadia National Park.
One other thought, This drive is primarily for residents of New Hampshire. There are a lot of food pantries in our state that need a helping hand, and not just a few cans of food. I urge you to look over this map and locate the organisation closest to you and see if they need a hand. I know that Good Shepherd in both Auburn and Portland consistently needs volunteers.
If you happen to live in Southern Oxford County, and feel like volunteering, I personally work with the Brownfield Food Pantry. I know for a fact that we have need for volunteers between the 12th and 16th of November. A lot of it involves heavy lifting, unloading trucks and trailers and what not. P.M. me if you can help and want the details.
First of all that link doesn't work. Second, you were referring to "illegal immigrants" being enrolled in government subsidized health insurance, which they can't actually do.
There ain't much that I can think of... Decades ago Sam Black Church used to hit up Maine quite frequently... But I dunno if they really count as metal.
I guess yer best bet in Portland would be Geno's... but I am operating on what must certainly be out-of-date information.

Check out this list. I would recommend the Portland Harbor Hotel for a honeymoon. The Hampton Inn is nice but more of a business hotel. The dining in Portland is has an insane amount of variety. Both those hotels are near the Old Port where most of the restaurants are located.

Nifty calculator that cites data from a UK government report: https://www.omnicalculator.com/ecology/eco-friendly-bags
Anyone who's been through a paper mill town knows paper production is nasty. Cotton bags also have a terrible environmental footprint, and it takes 130 uses to make up for that.
Crazy, I know.
Also, apparently Stephen King lives in Maine. Who knew? And there are rocky coasts. Cool! Rocks, right near the water!
We've made it past the solstice, so the days are getting longer! WHOO HOO!
There's that bird netting stuff, but it gets tangled in everything. The only good method I know of is an animatronic predator that moves and makes noise. Possibly those motion-detector garden sprayers.
You're probably going to be more sensitive to the cold than the average Mainer, so I'd recommend layering. You'll want sweater/sweatshirts, long-sleeved shirts, a lighter coat, a heavier winter coat (think a down-type coat), as well as gloves, scarves, and hats. Hats are something that a lot of people skip but they don't realize how much warmer you are wearing one.
Also, you want good waterproof winter boots. Wool socks will probably be a good investment too. Having cold or wet feet during the winter is the WORST.
To save money, you can find all that kind of stuff at the Goodwill or Salvation Army. Buying all of it new gets really expensive and you can find good quality stuff at thrift stores.
Also, I recommend keeping some of these on hand (lol puns): https://www.amazon.com/HotHands-Hand-Warmers-Odorless-Activated/dp/B0007ZF4OA. They're little packets that warm up and stay warm for a long time. I keep them in my pockets and shove my hands in there when they get really cold.
Here's a fairly inexpensive Tape to MP3 converter I found on amazon if you have $30 to expend
If he's into traveling the state, spending time outdoors, or exploring off the beaten track I would recommend the Delorme Maine Atlas & Gazetteer. Even in the era of smartphones it's incredibly helpful (almost essential) for navigating back roads, finding camping spots, boat launches, etc. That atlas in particular is THE standard for Maine.
(EDIT: If he's a city guy and all he wants to do is go to Portland breweries and take a weekend trip to Acadia in the summer, honestly it won't be that helpful. No judgement, just trying to clarify.)
Random Stephen King anecdote.
In the early 90s my high school made it to the basketball tournaments in Bangor. Stephen King and his family were at the tournaments (maybe for research for One On One?) and liked our team (I'm not sure why), so he made a point to watch all our games and cheer for us. Since the team name was the Dragons, he gave everyone on the team, and all the coaches, and student assistants signed hardcovers of Eyes of the Dragon. My sister was an assistant that year and still has her copy somewhere. There's a snapshot of him smiling with a Woodland kid in our yearbook.
Pretty nice guy!
Spose made an app that lets you unlock his new album before it's released. It's a fun little side scrolling app. Features Wells, Portland, Fryeberg Fair, Augusta.. It's funny. Only two bucks.

Good post.
The best <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Snow-Joe-SJEG01-Scraper-Brass/dp/B00GO46L54/">ice scraper</a> is one with a short brass blade that won't scratch the windshield. And a long brush to clear snow.
I have some tealights in a glass jar, with matches. If stranded, a candle (in a jar in the cup holder) is incredibly cheering, as well as providing light and a tiny bit of warmth.
Spare gloves, hat, fleece.
Blanket, a space blanket will help a little and is small and easy to store, a wool blanket will help more, if you have both, you'll be warmer. I bring a dog for real warmth.
Granola bars and candy in a mouse-proof container
Traction mats, kitty litter, and/or sand
Small shovel
Tool kit, auto fluids, jumper cables, car starter.
small 1st aid kit.
Treat your mobile phone as emergency gear; keep it charged, carry a portable battery pack.
If you routinely drive in remote areas, get a tiny camp stove that you can use to thaw water. Eating snow really drops your core temp, but you may need water.
The more remote areas you travel in, the more emergency/ camping gear you should consider.
I cannot recommend traction mats highly enough. They work in both mud and snow, pack small, are cheap, and can be used as a snow shovel, saving you more trunk space. I use these more often than any other piece of recovery equipment (including tow straps).
This guy doesn't do any of that. He pulls your stove out in your living room, runs a brush up from the hole inside, dusts your whole living room with soot in the process, and doesn't inspect the liner from above. The average homeowner can do the same thing with a drill and kit from amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Minegoo-Mniku-Mikmaq-Creation-Prince/dp/1927502853
it's about prince edwards island, but the mi'kmaq also live in maine. I know the author, she's not a member of the tribe, but she worked with someone to translate the story.
OPs husband also doesn't climb roofs, does it from inside.
I have this kit that lets you pull out the stove pipe and run flexible rods up from inside. Runs off a drill.
A benefit of having a guy climb your roof is he can inspect the liner from that angle up there. Doing it from inside is more half-assed.
But people should still clean their chimneys annually!
Brushaber v. Union Pac. R.R
Cited in the case:
Second, that the contention that the Amendment treats a tax on income as a direct tax although it is relieved from apportionment and is necessarily therefore not subject to the rule of uniformity as such rule only applies to taxes which are not direct, thus destroying the two great classifications which have been recognized and enforced from the beginning, is also wholly without foundation since the command of the Amendment that all income taxes shall not be subject to apportionment by a consideration of the sources from which the taxed income may be derived [240 U.S. 1, 19]
Read the case here: http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?navby=case&court=us&vol=240&invol=1#18
The case cites that the 16th amendment allows "income" to be collected with out rule of uniformity as such rule only applies to taxes which are not direct. "Income" Cannot be treated as a direct tax and be relieved from the rule of uniformity.

It may be smaller than the lot I layed out on this map. I am not sure about how much was owned north of the building, but here is a map of the property.
Since you're staying down in my neck of the woods, you can also hit the beaches (Pine Point and Scarborough Beach State Park), take a leaf drive up toward Sebago, head down to Old Orchard Beach...
One thing you will NOT find (in my opinion) in Scarborough, is decent food. Sebago Brewing is pretty good, and it is officially Scarborough - but barely. The rest of Scarborough is pizza and national chains, much to my chagrin.
Edit: That's Scarborough Beach, not Ferry, you idiot! :)
How cool! San Angelo is very nice, but I understand the desire to get out. New England has a charm that I have always loved. It's far more kind than Southern California, where we are currently. It's nice, but fake here. I'd rather someone yell at me for doing something stupid and correct me than the opposite.
Houston is my heart. It's a lot easier lifestyle than where we are in California, but for as big as it is, it can be small and not have a lot of touristic options. It has a lot of restaurants and jobs, but didn't have the right opportunities for my wife, and that's why we moved.

If by "certain" you mean "all" then yep.
The DARE thing was hilarious to me in how badly it backfired; literally it had the opposite effect on me and a lot of kids in my school. They brought a briefcase full of colorful pills, sciency-looking glass tubes and contraptions, and all it did was make us all fascinated by what was in there and more curious about it.
"Wow coooooool" (immediately checks out the "all about drugs" book in the library to look at the cool pictures)
If I put my tinfoil hat on I'd swear they knew that would happen and it was just a job security program for them.
There's a LOT of ignorance about this. And why wouldn't there be? What do Mainers know about high density living? Not a lot...
The simple truth is: higher density leads to more crime. And more economic opportunity. And more personal growth. And more cultural exposure. And better food and restaurants, etc...
This is nothing specific to Lewiston, or Somali people, or anything like that. It's simply a consequence of more people coming into contact with each other.
If anyone would like to understand why in more detail, I highly recommend the book 'Scale' by Geoffrey West:
https://www.amazon.com/Scale-Universal-Growth-Organisms-Companies-ebook/dp/B01KGZVYDK/ref=sr_1_1
> I would install a sprinkler system that would go off every hour at night for 5 minutes and get the sidewalk all wet. It's the least work
Easiest solution would be a simple networked camera with an intercom on it with a sign saying they're on camera. I have a few of them in my house, and they have a simple intercom feature where I can tell my cats to get off of the counters lol.
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Outdoor-Security-Wide-Angle-24-Hours/dp/B0711V3LSQ
OP can start with "Hey, please don't camp out here." and move on to "The security system has already notified the police". They'd get push notifications on their device when someone is in front of the door, so they can let them know not to hang around before they've had a chance to fully set up.

Water companies always sell you what's in their best interest ($$$). I tested my water before and after installing my own setup..and now my water is cleaner than most municipal water.
For my setup I have this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5N77S8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I have had this setup for about a year with no issues. I installed the system myself, but any plumber worth their salt could setup this stuff for you under 1k.
Shame on Chloe Maxmin for lying to sell a book, I guess, but what else is new? However, the title of "Liberals Are Celebrating a New Book on Rural Trump Voters" is also misleading because the book has zero reviews on Amazon, and if you are like me, this is the first time you are hearing of it. Likely, very few people have bought it and actually read it. Far from celebrating!
The Bangor Daily News interviewer even calls her out on it by saying: "Your district has more registered Democrats than Republicans and went for President Joe Biden in 2020."
I think Democrats should connect with voters and knock on doors, all of that. Yet, it is mildly frustrating how even rural Democrats act like the people here are an enigma to be solved or changed.

Furthermore, most of the beaches in York County were explicitly town property. Until corrupt land developers falsified their deeds and claimed them for housing developments. Back then beaches were seen as worthless, so no one protested.
>They should be preventable before that type of medication is needed.
There is a company that makes dog and cat collars that, for the most part, repel/kill ticks before they bite. Can be used in lieu of or in conjunction with the chewables.
A couple tips for dealing with the ticks I haven't seen in this thread:
I'd suggest something like this energy monitor. It senses inductive current in the lines, so you can monitor power usage of your house, independent of CMP's meter. I wouldn't expect perfect accuracy, but if it's saying 400kwh and CMP is saying 1200kwh, you can take that to them and tell them their meter is fucked.
Thanks! I meant like, do you care what is done with your photo? Would you call this Public Domain? Or would you licence it with Creative Commons?

This is way shorter than I expected. One takeaway is that Google conditions you to expect that anything of note is visible online. Unfortunately, that isn't even true going back 10 or 15 years, much less to the 1973 of the article, which may as well be 1473 as far as the internet is concerned.

We stayed at this place with our rottweiler a couple of years ago:
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/350369
It's $95 a night w/7 night min. stay. It's tiny but clean with a surprisingly well appointed kitchen. The photography is tricky though-- the yard is minuscule and close to the road. Not the busiest road, but a cut through between Routes 3 and 102. Actually decent location though if you like doing stuff on the 102 side of the island.
Worked well enough for us because we were more or less only there to sleep, but isn't really conducive to hanging outside. It's also just down the street from an Atlantic Brewing/Mainely Meats place we ate at a couple of nights. Also, in case you are tall (we are not) the bathroom/shower is like camper sized.
All around decent place for the money, would recommend if you're not really planning to hang out much where you stay.
Highly recommend "Empire of Pain" to really see how shitty the Sacklers and their companies truly are. Wretched people and illustrates the degree to which we value money and corporations over other humans:
In poland we have a few trails...~40mins out of portland.. this is one
It's on Google Maps.
We appreciate the positive and negative feedback - The list of employers is always a work in progress and we have added about 30+ Employers since the last link and continue to ad more... (Part - Time & Full Time positions will be available)

The volunteering suggestion is a good one too, maybe consider joining a service organization in your area such as a Rotary Club, Lions Club, etc.
You probably will not get anyone this time of year. I was in the same boat last year at this time and everyone turned me down. Look for a general handyman and see if they will take it. You can also try this: https://tinyurl.com/ycstfeu7
You can use photoshop, or any of the free online tools such as https://www.befunky.com/create/ Befunky. I used befunky this time.
There are a number of different ways to touch up lines / spots on images. This particular time I used the "touch up" panel, and the tool "Blemish fix." This is a fancy version of the "clone" tool.
Zoom in as far as you can, and make sure the settings for the tool are a small brush size, and low brush hardness.
I would suggest:
How do you like Capture One? I'm in the Lightroom/Photoshop world myself, but I'm always interested to hear others' takes on different software.
I've also been using the Google Nik Collection for some edits, mostly HDR and B&W.
So beautiful. A few years ago I decided Thunder Hole deserved its own ghost story, so I wrote one. You can listen to it here (it even takes place at dawn, like your photo!): https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/discordia/episodes/2020-09-24T18_02_56-07_00
Once this is over there will be a round of drinks on me somewhere in the Portland area! There will also be an assortment of small business gift cards for folks on the leaderboard.

This might not help with the boots but may be of use for other items you may need.

I have loved free cycle in my area of NH.
People can post requests or items on offer.
I had a section of pegboard I no longer needed. Not something one would bring to Goodwill. Posted it on Freecycle and had a ton of requests for it.
Asks are often successful too. To use the pegboard example, If someone posted, does anyone have a sheet? There would probably be several responses from those who kept an old piece for a maybe someday project that may never come about.
Oh yeah, every December it hits pretty hard. Lots of bright lights help. On the flip side we get longer summer days. It could be worse, check out the sun rise/set for Stockholm.
It's also really handy have just in general. We keep it in the truck next a Audobon Field Guide. Here's a link in case you need it: https://www.amazon.com/Maine-Atlas-Gazetteer-Delorme/dp/089933282X
You should be able to get one from most respectable places once you leave the major cities. For example, you won't find it at Hannaford, but Mountain Market in Dover-Foxcroft has them.
If you are really curious I highly recommend this book about the islands and the people that live on them: Islanders https://www.amazon.com/dp/0892726245/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_WZQQAJK72W6H2G8NKMYP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
What is it for a light?
If the vape shops don't have them and i would be surprised if they did. Online's your only bet. 18650 battery store they ship super fast. If your on /R/flashlight you've probably seen the other stores available.
And if you've got Amazon prime,18350 are surprisingly still available. Order quickly and you'll get it by Saturday. amazon
I use this... https://www.amazon.com/National-Audubon-Society-American-Mushrooms/dp/0394519922
There are apps that can do it for you much easier... but that book is great at helping you narrow down exactly what it is... best part is it has a "dangerous lookalikes" section for each mushroom... so if you aren't 100% sure you can investigate further to exclude the others...
A bat will be useless. If a coyote is that close then your dogs will be freaking out, making a bat impossible to use without letting go of the dogs.
A gun would be best. It makes noise and defends you/dogs from a distance.
Next best is something that sprays from a distance, like this

I'm going to upvote and reply to this -2 comment with a fun fact. Before I do, I should state that I am also a pro public transport guy. However, in the rural state of Maine, what numbers would actually justify a legitimate profitable route in an area with so few people? I live around Portland and thank goodness I have a car so I don't have to wait 2 hours to go 10 miles where there is a "funded" transport available.

As an avid outdoorsman, one of my favorite places to go is Rangeley Maine to see the birthplace of where the Maine guides were born. The first Maine guide was "Flyrod Crosby", a female who pioneered conservation before it was on anyone's minds (https://www.amazon.com/Fly-Rod-Crosby-Woman-Marketed/dp/0884482200). She set the standards for guide service as well as had a true entrepreneurial spirit who hand made and shipped fly tackle around the world to support her efforts. She entertained world leaders after the World fair in Boston, no thanks to the train service that went from Boston to Rangeley. I guarantee you this transportation route was not profitable annually, but was subsidized to bring out of state adventurers deep into Maine. I am happy to see any extended train service in Maine, whether it be to just Bangor or any northern or western part of Maine. Transport routes should NOT be based purely on profit and if that was the case, people not only around Maine, but those far away, could more easily explorer the amazing places Maine has to offer. Until then, the areas off the beaten path will forever be closed off to those without cars.
I bought a couple from Amazon and so far, so good. At $10.99 each, they are a good deal and keep my windshields clear. Just don't yank on the mirror loop or door flap because they will rip, especially with icy conditions.
get you self one of these and ditch the canned beans:
https://www.amazon.com/International-7621-Traditional-4-5-Quart-Ceramic/dp/B0026FDD10
Originally a Malden MA company, bought by B&M and made in Portland in at least the 70s & 80s, now made out of state. Internet says they are now made by "Famous Foods". The recipe they use is still spot on to what I remember as the Portland recipe.
I see them in stock at Hannaford from time to time but lately have been buying them at the super Wally World. For reference: https://www.amazon.com/Friends-Baked-Beans-Boston-Recipe/dp/B009GGVNUA

Turns out I'm not using the nearest tower that I could be, due to terrain.
I got an amplifier that has a roof antenna and a little guy inside, and pointed the directional roof antenna towards my good tower. Get -85 dB now and great voice quality. Going to drop my landline once this covid thing ends (I might need to fax stuff between my doctor and work)
