I'M SO EXCITED! You guys can download it for free off of soundcloud or buy it on beatport (if you think it's good/would like to contribute to my bacon fund). In all seriousness though, everyone in r/electrohouse is awesome. Thanks for leaving nice comments and being supportive of my music ever since I posted "Some Cheeze Its" on here like 10 months ago. Keep cheering on the little guys!
I just went through hell to get this to download. Sendspace required me to download an installer to download. Not only did this installer fail to download the song (while it claimed it did) it closed my browser without warning, tried to change my search settings, and didn't download the song.
It ended up opening my browser to the webpage containing the file to download.
Why the hell is Zeds Dead Facebook download section so screwed up.
Here's the link that you'd usually have to go through hell for.
The hook in Porter Robinson's Unison has been stuck in my head for the past month or so.
Miami 2 Ibiza by Swedish House Mafia is, of course, insanely catchy.
I agree with you about Undertaker, though.
I highly advise you to look into harmonic mixing.
TL;DR: Songs are in a musical key. Some keys are compatible (meaning you can mix during instrumental parts and still have it sound good). You can find out the keys of your song on beatport, or by using the free software rapid evolution
On an unrelated note, I like to mix directly the buildup of the new song with the outro (beat + bass) of the old song ; but I guess it's personal preferences....
Try Songkick mate. It is exactly what you are asking for. You select a bunch of artists you want to follow and the cities you are close to, when one announces a tour you will get an email notification :)
I would imagine you might be into some of the Toolroom Records-type crowd for example funkagenda or inpetto but I guess that really depends on what you define as "dark".
Hit up http://www.beatport.com/genre/electro-house/17 but do a bit more digging than just the top 10 otherwise you'll sound like everyone else. BPM is always 127-132 and is very easily mixed since most tracks have long intro's / outro's. Good luck!
Except the whole reason Lick It sounds so french house is that it's an uncredited sample of the Le Knight Club remix of Raw Man.
The quality will KICK ASS compared to Soundcloud. 320 and free, the only way to be. Enjoy, and thanks for the support.
I'm sharing using google docs so the downloads are somewhat centralized to reddit. I prefer to keep them mostly streamed in the hopes of someday selling tracks through a label (and I've been told some labels aren't big on the whole free download thing).
edit: I just test-downloaded it. It'll play in iTunes under Please Don't finale (because that's what I titled the exported file). Might want to change that to Vexik - Please Don't and use the image on the soundcloud track for cleanliness's sake. I hear reddit can get a little neurotic about that sort of thing ;)
Ah, that's what I'm missing. I don't consider it part of the VIP, they've played it way before Rage Valley was even released. Have you ever heard their Essential Mix from Space, Ibiza? It's the first song they played there.
Update: Hang on, I know there's a board out of that show floating around somewhere...
It's an all around house playlist so all tastes can listen. From underground electro to commercial dance. Good list to have on parties And here is your invite :) https://www.spotify.com/se/invitation/fkZzbJWcewnHBEE2
Someone please cut this so that we can have just the track?
EDIT: Reddit user HouseBreaker already did a 256 kb rip in /r/electronicmusic.
Shazam ID' it as Magitman and Brisker Feat. Elektra (Mashtronic Mix)
EDIT: added Mashtronic Mix
Nice music OP!
^^You ^^didn't ^^actually ^^link ^^to ^^something
Here's some music if you're disappointed to come here without seeing music.
Huh? I was suprised I was able to watch it in The Netherlands.
Edit: Try this when desperate. Don't know if that's fast enough for streaming video. Edit^2 : nope, doesn' twork.
Is he seriously just now becoming big? I was hooked as soon as I listened to Return of the Jedi. Also, this mix is awesome.
I was listening to a lot of Progressive then heard Dutchano - Laidback Luke Edit and this started a migration to Electro House.
I love the energy of it, I find it especially helpful to listen to when I'm running, towards the end of a long run when I'm starting to tire. Electro House gives me a real boost.
Most of it is. Everything I've written is pretty much on soundcloud. The ones that aren't downloadable are going to be released in the next month or soon beatport/itunes. If you want i can send you a big zip file of everything i have though.
Thanks!
For every artist or label you like, you should subscribe to them on Beatport to see when they release new stuff. Also you can check out the top electro house tracks or the new releases in general.
Have you listened to any indie dance/ nu disco? I'm sure if you look through that genre you'll fall in love (be warned there is a looott of crappy tunes but, when you find the gold....its gold)
http://www.beatport.com/genre/indie-dance-nu-disco/37
Also try listening to some Electric Soulside, HERE
I have also only been DJing about a year. I'm running Traktor 2 Pro and the Stanton SCS.3 System. I started spinning in my warehouse for friends and a couple low key house parties. I'm now spinning art fairs, events, parties, and I was recently offered to spin a night at a real club. It really just comes down to practice, practice, practice.
I've always really enjoyed a lot of the mixes by Julices Grant on mixcloud. Especially his electrotrash mixes get me going -- they're so raw and aggressive.
It's not quite like the artists you just listed, but you might like it if you're a fidget fan!
>He originally used the name for live DJ sets, but in 2009 the project moved into the studio with Skrillex remixing the likes of Lady Gaga (“Bad Romance”) and Snoop Dogg (“Sensual Seduction”).
I would definitely look into some mixes if you want to. Check out BBC Essential Mix, famous DJ's and artists go on the radio show once a week and do/send in 2 hour sets. They're generally quite good. You can find the recordings usually posted around blogs or soundcloud by googling them.
Also maybe try looking into various mixes posted on this subreddit or around the web and see what you like. If you want to make your own you might want consider getting a free DJing software like Mixxx, but I'll tell you right now that it'll be very difficult if you don't have much knowledge about mixing.
Great track, but you should note that this isn't the final version:
"and for everyone asking, the leaked version of levels is NOT the final version of the track, its a version ive been using for my livesets!"
I purchased it, I hate this feeling cause i usually thoroughly research my items, but this felt a little premature. pleas tell me it isn't as bad as i think. I looked at completed and for the most part they sold at 100, one sold for 142 which at amazon is 131 new, kinda stupid imo.
There's nothing I love more than scoping the underdogs, but sadly they don't stay unknown for long! It's the nature of the beast and where we come in, right?
I can't think of many immediately off the top of my head, but check out Paris Blohm. Aside from remixing one of 2012's biggest up and comers (Amba Shepard), this song put him from like 1300 to 2k likes in the past week. He just broke 2,000 yesterday.
Oh, here's one more. This guy's facebook has 6 likes. That's not a joke. He's a young dude that did a Madeon-esque mashup that got him some exposure (cause Madeon commented on it). OK I was lying. He has no likes on fb but he's pushing 1200 on SC. His tunes are all experiments and his name is LectroNatic. Love his Morgan Paige Remix for it's laid-back flow, but jump around his SC - you'll be surprised.
I didn't upload it Hardwell did. Sucks that he took it down.
~~Check his Facebook, he probably updated the download link~~. I can't right now I'm on mobile.
EDIT: https://soundcloud.com/hardwell/hardwell-yearmix-2012-free-download
To make the HTTP directory easy to download as a whole you can use this program: https://sites.google.com/site/visualwget/a-download-manager-gui-based-on-wget-for-windows
When adding a download just paste the http address into it, then go to Advanced, then Recursive Retrieval and select the "recursive" and "no parent" options.
They also mentioned a new album "One Night Stand" which from what I understand is a live album. Read this on the letter thing on the SHM facebook page.
I've submitted the artwork to picrequests to try and have someone clean it up. I'll link it here if it comes through.
Here it is. Many thanks to JJE37!
Anyone else have trouble downloading? Took 3 tries to get it, then the 1st track was corrupt, 4 tries later I got the whole thing again with the 1st track. I normally have the best internet in the country, might be a fluke.
I don't really have any as of right now. This is a video I'm putting together for my outfit channel (gaming clan, basically) in Planetside 2. The channel is here, although it's empty right now. The reason I was looking for a good electrohouse song was because my clan plays on the Vanu Sovereignty faction, who are basically a transhumanist techno-cult who uses advanced alien technology to fight the other two factions, which consist of a totalitarian fascist regime and a group of rebel space hicks. Awesome lasers and antigravity tech come into play there, and their in-game soundtrack is all electronic, so I wanted to continue the theme with my video.
I use Rapid Evolution, which is a free open source project. It's not very accurate, so what I do afterwards is hook my small M-Audio keyboard into Ableton as a grand piano and just start playing notes while the track plays in iTunes. I use the Rapid Evolution key as a starting point and move from there. The right key will just sound right, think of as the note you could hold down and play whenever the track ends.
Hope you enjoy it! My track Get Funky just came out on beatport too so if you like it please support! :) cheers!
Im just so sick of this style of edm. the whole "animals" craze was cool, and i'd admit the songs were catchy. But now the new copy cats all sound like sticks banging together. No talent at all.
something like this... selfie remix
Here is The Rules of Dada on beatport. It seems to be a lot of vocal mixes, but at least they're extended/club mixes.
If you were to look you could probably find instrumental mixes of many of their tracks on beatport too.
Edit: spelling
Technically, he is prog house according to one standard, seeing as big room has taken over progressive (See Beatport Progressive House). Big-room-festival-mainstage-progressive-electro doesn't really have a simple genre name, hence the problem.

Listen to the song on Youtube but PLEASE support the track on Beatport if you like it!
My brother (AUBRN) has been hard at work producing music every day for over 6 years, help launch another Detroit techno artist Reddit!
I like pretty much every genre, so no hate, but I'm just trying to follow the sidebar... And did he ever make electro house? I haven't found any.Beatport lists a few of his releases as electro house, but they're all 110-112 BPM electro-moombah.
On the wikipedia page for progressive house, it does say "The label Progressive House was often used interchangeably with Trance in the early years." which is what I was thinking of. I do admit it's probably inaccurate to call progressive house a mix of trance or electro. It has more in common with house.
I do believe Avicii is progressive house however. Of his tracks listed on Beatport, 164 are under the genre "progressive house," including his well-known "Levels."
Pretty sure OP meant this.
Apart from Zedd, I'm a fan of the songs The Promise and Drifting (posted it in the subreddit). I am a little disappointed by Sidney Samson's new song though.
This is a good resource for beginners
It's written by someone from norway so the english is a bit broken but it helped me a lot when I started
I'm really really enjoying it. I hadn't heard a lot of the tracks other than Professional Greifers and The Veldt, so I was digging hearing some of these for the first time. I think my favorite is Fn Pig. I also really like Failbait.
Shameless plug, I made a mash-up of Failbait that I think is pretty alright.
bandsintown works pretty nice for me in chicago.... once you get a good list of artists in there. you have to either sync pandora or facebook though or get an account... the concert cloud is useful.
Yea you can get it on amazon or google play. It should be on beatport in a week or two as well.
