1) Buy these, wait for package to arrive
2) Put them on a pair of shoes
3) Go to literally any show
4) Make friends with some of the many people who will approach you to tell you how much they love your dope shoelaces
This process has worked flawlessly countless times for me and multiple friends for whom I have bought these shoe-borne beacons as a gift. If you can't make friends with those babies on, you might be skipping deodorant or something because they're basically friend magnets.
As far as where to find events, depends on your city. Look up EDMTrain.

As a former sound engineer at a punk venue, earplugs are invaluable down the road for saving your hearing with age. Get yourself a ncie pair like these and you'll hardly notice you're wearing them after 5 minutes or so.
My father has basically lost hearing in his left ear from going to punk shows in the 80s. Earplugs are a huge deal, especially considering how fucking loud everything is these days.
Anything is better than nothing
I use these:
Etymotic High-Fidelity Earplugs, ER20XS Standard Fit, 1 pair, Polybag Packaging https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM6Q9XW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bCQpCbQZFZP4Y
Inexpensive, effective. Comes with a small carrying case, multiple fittings, and a little neck cord
everyone, do yourself a major favor. these have changed the mf game for me. no muffle, just decibel reduction
Good on you! I am a big fan of Eargasm. Etymotics are cheaper and are also good, but my personal preference is for the Eargasms.
Well the visuals are coming from projectors. From the picture, they're mounted somewhere "behind" the camera. You can see them projecting onto the dancer on the top right.
If you look just on the left side of the picture, they're a guy with a lap. It looks a lot like Resolume, which has visual library built-in and you can download to make effects.
Beatport is a good way to find what's popular right now. Check the different genres top 10 charts and I'm sure you'll hear some stuff you'll recognize if you've been out partying.
Dancing Astronaut is an awesome blog. They cover mainly progressive house and electro.
You have proven to, by your complete ineptitude at using the language that I would guess you have spoken and written since birth. I do genuinely question your cognitive abilities, but only for your own personal safety, as you may require some medical assistance. Until such time as you do so, you should consider taking an online course in basic English skills, rather than spending all your time checking your posts to see if anyone downvoted you.
Oh and for the record, I didn't downvote you.

These guys throw the best raves in the bmore/dc area. They always manage to have awesome DJs spinning and even a couple of big headliners like Will Bailey, Nit Grit, and Figure.
Looks like a blast.
Anybody know the tune being mixed at 1:03 ??
Is it the same tune as is in this video here?
Seriously just bought this on amazon and it was amazing to trip with after a show.
Here's the link to mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWD1NZK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have this one in blue. It is about 12 inches long and it fans like crazy with little effort. It pretty durable so far. I can't find any like this on amazon without the design or in other colors.
Got this 4 years ago for $150 and it has been great. Audio synced with different mic sensitivities. Highly recommend. Works best with fog.
There is an excellent book about the rave culture in Berlin and how it all started in the first place. It's patched together with over 150 interviews. Some of them also explain how they organized the first love parade and even some illegal raves while the wall was still standing.
Der Klang der Familie: Berlin, Techno and the Fall of the Wall
Personally I'm going to 3lau this weekend, San Holo in 2 weeks, and ubbi Dubbi at the end of the month. also there's an app I use called edmtrain that shows most of not all the ones in Dallas and a few other places around the state/country, I'll post the link with this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.edmtrain.edmtracks
Sound quality is meh (performance recording):
https://www.mixcloud.com/edmtunes/moby-live-coachella-festival-2013-california-13042013/
One of my favorite sets to be at of all time. Vibes were immense, crowd was real, tracks were euphoric.
If you like Tale of Us, check out Mind Against. They're like Tale of Us' moody little brother. here's a set
There are these too, which were created by GloSpex, but didn't get funded. In my opinion these were much cooler, but the other original ones aren't too bad either, especially for $10.
If you are close to Anchorage, THIS should show all the concerts coming to your area! Not sure if they have other cities from Alaska in their database, just checked for Anchorage.
So good. And as strange as it seems I'm having a blast chatting with random people on https://www.facebook.com/electricdaisycarnival
Everyone is listening to the stream and commenting like crazy. Mini-rave on the internet~
I use a website called Songkick. You track your local cities, you track your favorite artists, and when they collide they're posted on your page and emailed to you. You can even export your events to your favorite calendar.
I also Like my artists and event coordinators on Facebook. Here in Dallas, we have one called Full Access Dallas that basically post events and listings. I've also Liked things like Insomniac, Massive Intent, Bassrush, etc.
This is absolutely not how timecode-synced visuals work with Rekordbox & Resolume
CDJs output a timecode which makes it trivial for the VJ to sync their visual clips; artists like Tipper have been doing this for decades
Your list is THOROUGH - whatever crew you're with is lucky to have you! I will def be adding a collapsible water bottle to my list. To add to yours, maybe some kind of super compact blanket for sitting on (if you get tired and lazy like me). Like dis one:
I also usually bring some kind of stuffed animal or animal backpack. It brings me comfort!
I've been using a travel money belt for the past few years.
I keep a box of Altoids and a bottle of hand sanitizer in my pockets, so they're welcome to those if they really are invested in reaching into pockets.
The money belt is tucked under several layers of clothing, one of which is a compression shirt. They'd need to go through the top shirt, the compression shirt, and the waistband of my shorts to get to it.
Personally, it's the people not dancing or too focused on staring at people that make me uncomfortable and hyper alert. If you're just standing there and looking too serious I'm definitely making eye contact to let you know I see you. I don't trust anyone that's not dancing, smiling, drinking, or rolling.
Amazon sells a lot of stuff in bulk too!! I sometimes will buy a pack of these hand fans and give them to people! Especially at summer festivals when it's super hot
I recently purchased some for Above & Beyond and EDCLV from iheartraves, then I found these on Amazon! They're just as good as the ones from iheartraves.
I will say that they fell off my face before I even left my house, so I needed to reinforce the stickiness with spirt gum. To be honest, one still fell off at the event. But I'm still going to wear them all three days at EDCLV.
I got some of this 0.8mm string stretch string from Amazon. Like I said, I'm new at this so we'll see how well that holds up haha
I'm from chicago but I get invited to shit in wisconsin sometimes. Check one of um out and meet some people and see wasup. I know kids take buses from wisconsin down to chicago for certain events.

I've seen some other headbands that were crowdsourced on Kickstarter Halo, but they are likely to cost anywhere from $60-80+. They were RGB and changed colors, but they aren't a very option for price sensitive people and they aren't even being sold yet. Festival goers love wearing headbands!
Resolution was a good time! I really enjoyed LA Riots and Cosmic Gate. Rusko and Cazzette were awesome! Sound cloud has Cazzettes incredible set form Ultra, free download too! I was unfortunately disappointed by Mord Fustang :(
Hotel Suggestion:
Book "The Jockey Club" through AirBnB. Its a timeshare place that is right on the strip almost engulfed by the Cosmopolitan. But it has grills, you get to use the Cosmo Pools/hottubs, its nice and quiet, they have in room kitchens, and its all around amazing.
I would suggest this listing right here. I booked with the exact same person and everything turned out wonderfully, although I had the 2 bedroom and not the 1 bedroom.
Additionally if you have time I would suggest arriving 2-3 days before and trying to flip your sleep schedule. I did this last year and it made my life so much better. Over the course of 3 days I just kept progressively staying up later and later. By the time of the festival staying up until 7-9 am wasn't that hard to do.
Who/where is the best person/place to contact. You can check out some of my photos here.

I'm a hobbyist so I could actually care less about being paid, I want to be able to bring in more gear haha
Chances are this'll both be the venue's responsibility. I'm all for free water, but I don't know if they'll let me do that as it will cut into their profits for the night.
Edit: eep, and even at this cheap, that's still $824 for 2400 bottles out of my pocket, before sales tax. Dunno man. How about a dollar a water?
Have you heard of Transport Take Off? I've never been, but it's the only trance event that I've heard of and apparently happens every month. I can't go this month, but maybe any in the future.. Also, there is Armin!
I never said what you think I said. But he definitely has a VJ team. Almost everyone uses prerendered content. You have too. Ex just does more of the work. There's still laser and lighting people.
You can read the interview with his VJs for more background.

I read something about a big raid at a rave in the USA. Very ugly, but see, that is part of it. I am not saying you should revolt if that happens, but see what the czech did when the police raided their teknival. Other example of wise raveing is shown in the documentary that i posted. In the middle of Paris, a really underground crowd of 3 thousand people, the police raided the party and found 2 bags of weed total.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were already some movement near LA, since there are a lot of hippy, new age travellers spirit over there. Again, it should be really underground, not like an open group on facebook or internet forum. It isn't wise.
I think wikipedia is better as a description of genres than Ishkur's is nowadays. I like to use discogs as a primary reference for genres. Although Discogs isn't up-to-date with everyone on soundcloud and it doesn't have a lot of smaller sub-genres.
For musical examples and evolution, Ishkur's is still a really cool site design-wise. For modern genres, I like http://everynoise.com/ but it's not as detailed like Ishkur's is
Somebody else will rip them. They may even be up a few hours after. These guys have the January ones, don't know how soon they had them up:
Haven't taken the course, but Deadmau5 has a Masterclass on electronic music production, which it seems has pretty good reviews as a starting point, and is reasonably priced at $90.
https://www.masterclass.com/classes/deadmau5-teaches-electronic-music-production
Do yourself a favor and listen to Claude VonStroke's large bottom tour mix. I've had it on repeat for months. It used to be up on soundcloud but it was taken down this week, so here's a hotfile link: http://hotfile.com/dl/116005514/6603d3d/Large_Bottom_Tour_Mix.mp3.html
I'll admit I roll a little more than I should. I usually try to take at least a month break in between. Also I take shit tons of supplements and nootropics before and after to help with neurotoxicity and other stuff. I think I'm fine though I've been rolling almost monthly for a year and my doses are still below 100mg and I've had no negative effects or increase in tolerance yet and my serontonin seems perfectly fine(thanks to 5-htp and green tea extract). Since your new PLEASE take care of your body if you plan to roll. I take EVERYTHING from this site and I've been doing great so far
Also for the nootropics I stack noopept, aniracetam, and piracetam a week before and the day of. They increase and lengthen your roll and take away from the negatives and I know for a fact they work. Als they're supposed to help decrease neurotoxicity
I have all of the above and also electrolyte tablets to put in my camelbak.

I can fit both of my fists in this thing
I now carry a water bottle sling, like a old lady might have, but heavy duty. It has 2 zipper pockets that fit my phone, cigs, lighter, stuff, and poop spray. When I’m spun or I feel someone is sketch, I hold it in front of me. I can dance no prob. Never have to set it down. I feel so much safer with it.
This is it if your interested.

This specific color may not be available right now but others are. Also, the crocheted ones on Etsy are rear nice.
Howard Leight RTSFUS30HP - Fusion Multiple-Use Earplug (Regular - 10 Pairs)
When I used to work as a stage tech, the company had a big bucket of these to hand out to us gig workers. Now I buy them by the 10 pair and gift them out to friends at parties. They're still the best cheap earplugs I've found.
this is the hazer I got for my lazer, its the cheapest one i found but it does an awesome job of highlighting the laser beams, i'll link an image of what mine looks like looking into a circle pattern.
https://www.amazon.com/CHAUVET-DJ-HURRICANE-1DX-HHAZE/dp/B073ZY4X5V
SUNY Mini Laser. This little guy is pretty spectacular. It’ll cover a whole room in some pretty neat static or dynamic patterns.
The DMX allows you to access and adjust the couple dozen static and dynamic patterns that are in the fixture, x and y axis adjustment, scan speed, and a couple other things. I’d say you don’t get the full potential out of the lasers without the DMX.
Dude! Your setup is awesome! Is that a projector behind the TV or what? And what visualizer are you using? That looks really cool
And yeah i using a DMX controller! I got this one and it's been doing the job pretty good so far.
I use this super cheap 3L pack that I found on Amazon. My favorite things about it are that it is very minimalist, just one pocket that is flat against your back (perfect for some money, ID, etc), it is very slim and hugs your back, so no chance of swinging into people, it has several D-ring attachment points to hook on any other gear/lights you might want, and it has a chest strap for that extra security. It doesn't have the best mouthpiece, but it works, and has a locking mechanism so it won't be dripping everywhere like some other cheap packs I've tried. And I love how cheap it is because I can go fucking hard with it (even trip the fuck out and lose it) and not worry too much (like I would with my nice camelbak).
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGSKSXI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A friend of mine just recommended me these so I just bought them. Amazon Prime better follow through so I can get these before Escapade.
Thanks for explaining though!
GloFX Ultimate Diffraction Glasses - Black - 3D Prism Effect EDM Rainbow,Black, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0095ZPR54/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_bbiuCbX901Z4K
I got a pair of these and here are my thoughts.
One of the cheapest options around. If I don't like them, it's an easy return process with Amazon and they're cheap enough to just give them away to a friend or that special someone you vibe with at a rave. And if you lose them, not a huge deal.
You can still see and walk around in these. I've tried some crazy goggles and eyewear that makes you see like a goddam dragonfly. You cannot move around in those at all. I like being aware of my surroundings to be safe. I could have this pair on for the entire rave if I wanted. I can still see the visuals and all the lights. One downside is that since these are plastic, they blur out your vision slightly and the colors of real life things you see are a little bit off.
You don’t need to buy a whole new pack. This happened to me and I bought this from Amazon and have never had problems.
I bought one so far but want more recommendations.
I got this one rgb stands for red green blue https://www.ebay.com/p/1377065787?iid=272864227996&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=272864227996&targetid=915850255573&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9019615&poi=&campa...
This red green yellow has great reviews and videos and pictures though and both have auto and sound activated mode.
Better to just be safe with some stash boxers if your a guy. girls can just put it in their bras. I think they make a similar style bra too actually
A lot of people recommend the "high fidelity" earplugs that supposedly don't degrade the quality of the music, but at EDM events the speakers are so loud that I feel like those types aren't enough protection. I always wear cheap foam earplugs, and I can still hear the music and people around me perfectly fine. The Noise Reduction Ratings are higher for the foam ear plugs vs the high fidelity types (usually 33 db reduction vs 12-18 db).
Example of foam earplugs: http://www.amazon.com/Hearos-Ear-Plugs-Xtreme-Protection/dp/B000NP79YM/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1442808693&sr=1-1&keywords=ear+plugs
The sound quality with Alpine is incredible! You can actually hear the music better wearing these than without them. I can hear the music perfectly, and people talking, because they drop the overall 'din', like the excessive, unidentifiable noise.
I can only compare to foams, not these other brands. But they're fantastic. I bought them for EDC. If you've never gone, it's insane loud (let's not get into 'show X was louder'). I don't have particularly sensitive ears, and as soon as I walked through into the stands it wasn't 'loud', it was instant pain.
Popped them in and partied for about 5 or 6 hours. Zero ringing after. Didn't stick my head in the stacks, but didn't shy away from them either. The price stings a bit, but let me say this: Unless I can try another brand for free, when I lose these, I will be buying the same ones again, for sure!
EDIT: These ones: http://www.amazon.ca/Alpine-Hearing-Protection-MusicSafe-Musicians/dp/B000VO8PR0
I always reply to all comments (: And yes! Although I got most of my perlers online on Amazon :) http://www.amazon.com/Perler-Beads-Clear-Square-Pegboards/dp/B005HZ35FK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1435647483&sr=8-2&keywords=perlers&pebp=1435647543730&perid=1P7TZNCMCTWHD166TGG3
Those disposable hookah tips might work depending on the tube, worth swinging by your local hookah bar and grab a couple to see if it would work, or amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Hookah-Tips-Disposable-pieces-Social/dp/B00DG9MX8O
Sucks for you OP. As far as specialized doctors go I would look into the amen clinics www.amenclinics.com he has written a couple books that are really good. He uses SPECT brain scans to detect areas that have low levels of blood flow and can make various diagnoses and treatments specialized to you. I also suggest picking up one of his books http://www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Brain-Life-Obsessiveness/dp/0812929985
I've been going to events for years, like op, but I always wear earplugs. Not only because I want to eliminate an ear hangover (that ringing in your ears you still hear after an event while laying in bed) or damage my hearing, but also because the music just sounds better. I use these and I recommend them to anyone.
Geigerrig the rig love this one one beats all other hydration packs in design and function opens like a zip lock bag and can be turned inside out so cleaning is a breeze, all parts are replaceable, and its PRESSURIZED so you don't have to suck on it just bite down or use it squirt gun style.
ps: Also make sure you get one with chest and/or waist straps (keeps it from bouncing all over the place) and 1 or 2 big compartments MAX for events
This one? There are a few, but that one may be the $5 he is talking about. Looks like they range from $5-20.
Personal preference go for the diffraction glasses from amazon by emazing lights or iheartraves. They're like $20. $76 for a pair of diffraction glasses seems a bit excessive IMH. Rave on!
I have this phone tether tab in my phone case
Attached to this retractable security tether
At smaller shows I just keep it attached to my belt loop and at larger events my fanny pack has a ring inside the pocket to clip it to

Definitely doesn't help in this case, but everyone should buy "S binders" to protect their bags if they don't already have something to prevent pickpocketing.
It's in El Cajon but this would be an epic space. Gated, and so many people from all over could come and have an awesome time. Multiple djs, private lounges, this could be epic
Most events i find through facebook. I'm not really sure about websites. Wish i could be of more help! If you're willing to travel to richmond va, this page has a lot of events. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000959618011

AND THEN

Gonna be one hell of a weekend.
I'm also London based, and love the darker, grittier side of techno. My friends and I are out pretty much every weekend, sometimes more than once. My favourite venues include FOLD, E1 and Electrowerkz (when Kaos is on). I've also found some amazing raving buddies on Meetup.com - just look for a group called Girls Like Techno Too :)
My next event is going to be Unfold this Sunday, then next week PARA at Grow Tottenham on Friday and MOTZ 3rd birthday (with Ansome, Stranger and Manni Dee) at The Cause. The week after, on Friday I'm at E1 for Volt (Ugandan Methods, Phase Fatale) and on Saturday I'm seeing I Hate Models at Kaos. If you want to join me and my lot, let me know!
Had my phone pickpocketed out of a fanny pack around my chest. Didn't even notice them zipper it open and slide my phone out. Happened to a friend as well. They also target people who look fucked up cause they know they're not paying attention.
For women (or men), I got one of these phone cases that doubles as a shoulder crossbody purse. There's several styles online: https://www.amazon.com/Kihuwey-Crossbody-Protective-Kickstand-Detachable/dp/B09WRM19BW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3JEFO4RP0IOD0&keywords=phone+case+purse&qid=1667338673&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI2Ljg5IiwicXNhIjoiNi4zMyIsInFzcCI6IjUuMTIifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=phone+case+purs%2Caps%2C241&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
My phone is always around my shoulder and on my body at an event or festival now. Thieves can't just yank it off easily. My friend also has one and it saved her phone when she was ambushed in the street in a foreign country by a pickpocketer as well.
My phone was stolen in at EDC a few years back. I actually left my international SIM live to track it and it eventually found it’s way to Shengzen.
The solution is to combine a heavy duty retractable tether: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09GK5NJK7
With an adhesive tether tab, which you can attach to the inside of your case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B43RQ13
If you are especially weary a heavy duty case for your phone would also help.
The combination of these keeps your phone quite safe as long as the tether is attached to your clothing securely.
I got my phone stolen during CID at Beyond Wonderland in a very similar fashion to what you described. It absolutely sucks so I feel for you right now.
I bought this leash on Amazon afterwards and use it at every show I go to now. It gives me some peace of mind having it tethered to me and I haven’t had to worry about it getting stolen since. Phone Leash
An oldy but goody from 1998. A little dated but still one of the best books on exactly why psychedelics are what made raving even a thing. I don't want to say you can't rave sober or anything but again, we gotta admit that we are a psychedelic culture.

Yup, that's what I mean by the Camelbak Repack (https://www.amazon.com/CamelBak-Repack-Hydration-Pack-Black/dp/B075X3FR5V) that I mentioned. Osprey has a similar model (https://www.osprey.com/us/en/product/seral-4-SERAL4S21.html). Do you have experience with using these?
I found these pants on Amazon. They aren't everyone's style but they show how even on the world's largest ecommerce site someone can set themselves apart from the crowd.

I have the Ultimate Ears Megaboom and have had no complaints. Gets pretty loud and sounds very "bass-y" for the price.

I was skeptical on these but this last EDC was the FIRST EDC that did not end with me with back pain.

to pull in the standard io library (for printf) I think this is valid ANSI (gnu) C, more or less as K&R outlined in their book before I was born https://smile.amazon.com/Programming-Language-2nd-Brian-Kernighan/dp/0131103628
Have you seen these? might be helpful if you need to sit down a lot
I find these one really comfortable and lower the sound level just right without distorting the music TheFitLife Noise Reduction Ear Plugs
Hm I have these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L4LKQK2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but they didn't really "feel right" in terms of blocking noise. It just felt like I put something in my ear and didn't feel like any music was filtered. Maybe they were too loose, but thanks for the suggestion
+1 for eargasm, starting using em and havn't looked back.

highly recommend getting a connective strap. i would lose 1 earplug every festival until i started using this

If your ears ring that is damage. The thing is your body can take a lot of abuse and you won't notice it right away.
Something like this is cheap and for me keep the music loud but makes it more like listening to a loud radio where you can hear everything. You might still have to stand away from the speakers or get plugs custom fit if you are really serious. which is more expensive.

Seems like overkill. I'd get a nice waterproof fannypack. Don't even need your wallet. Just cash, card, and ID. Keep your earplugs or anything you'll be grabbing fairly often in the front zip, money in the back zip. Just wear it in front of you or across the shoulder. Pickpockets are looking for easy marks like an open purse of wallet in back pocket on the dance floor. You can wear whatever you want, but you won't get meaningfully more security from what you've posted vs a standard fanny pack. I posted a link below. I'd recommend going to a store and checking some out personally.
