There are a few issues here that people continue to bring up that often get looked past.
The first thing being consistency. I live near Old Cleveland Road at Camp Hill, and my nearest stop sees about 10 different buses drive past. My particular stop only has 2 buses that stop there. People need to understand that the other buses go on different routes and may not end you at your destination... if the bus is full or you've been ignored by the bus driver, that must be very unlucky as this has never happened to me.
The next argument I see is services not turning up, or late or whatever. I get this would be frustrating, I constantly see people looking at the timetable at my bus stop wondering why the bus hasn't turned up when it specifically says 7:58 and it's now 8:03 and them getting shitty... well... I'm sorry, it is now 2017 and Translink have a great (although poorly designed) app available for both Android and Apple which is very accurate, with each bus being equipped with GPS tracking updating live to their servers. The number of people who hang buses out to dry for being 5 minutes late, in peak hour traffic, is ridiculous. The technology is there, it's free, use it.
Lastly, people who compare Brisbane's bus network with the likes of fucking Hong Kong and Tokyo need to understand population density:
We are not comparing apples with apples in this situation. Personally I feel the trans-link network get absolutely butchered on this subreddit and although people are entitled of their opinion, I just hope they understand the above before shitting on them next time.
Been experimenting with providers for a while now. Settled with AirVPN. Pushed around 12TB of bidirectional traffic in my first 2 weeks via SG and NL and while latency can be an issue, it is freaking solid. PM for refferal for a shameless plug. 50EUR per year, and you can try for 3 days for 1EUR
Check the rego on each one (I believe there is a free app for it).
If the cars are unregistered, I am pretty sure he can't leave them parked on the street.
You could give Freecycle a go. I've picked up and got rid of stuff pretty easily.
Alternatively how about calling the Salvos or similar. I think they'll pickup stuff if you can't drop it in yourself.
I use NordVPN () with OpenWRT running on my router (AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router Archer C7) using OpenVPN for the VPN and MWAN for WAN routing policies. This has allowed me to setup different Wifi networks for different VPNs and configure different ports on my router to use different VPNs.
E.g. I have these WiFi hotspots in my house:
It took the better part of a day to setup, but I hadn't used OpenWRT before so it took a bit to figure out everything.

Six weeks, no hop. One new years resolution I'm actually winning on. 👌

But I am having a lot of vivid dreams and nightmares. No good deed....
It is a scam and it is well documented in many places as such: http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/is-this-whole-verve-energy-drink-and-vemma-thing-a-pyramid-scheme.452892990/ provides a pretty excellent summary of the nonsense you'll find yourself saying and the kind of people you'll be surrounded by.
Italy found Vemma to be a scam and the business model was the same everywhere.
>At this point we've decided to care for him as his injuries don't seem too severe, the RSPCA generally don't seem interested in saving injured wild ducks as lets face it, that happens a lot around here - and we most certainly have the ability and the desire to look after this little guy.
If you are anywhere near St Lucia, the University of Queensland small animal clinic and talk to them. They take in wildlife cases (possums, bush turkeys etc) and nurse them back to health and have a system of carers. I took an injured juvenile bush turkey there the other day that we found in our yard, and a few baby possums over the years. If you can, they accept donations (I donated $40 for that little turkey) as they do a great job. If you need a ride, let me know.
Google maps is pretty solid for working out what public transport to take, with that find your nearest newsagent and get a go card and put some money on it. It's not perfect but http://wikitravel.org/en/Brisbane will give you the general lay of the land. Also if you need to get out of the house this very second and just chill out, head to southbank and just walk around there. It's generally pretty chill.
Also while i can't recommend any particular groups I can recommend this weekly show http://www.bigforktheatre.com/events/2017/4/13/big-fork-thursday-live-comedy. I personally know a lot of the people that go and they are all have similar interests and i have not met a more welcoming friendly group of people. Just a warning, the show itself is $10 but if you come along, introduce yourself to a few people and mention that you are new to town i'm sure you'll find some people who are happy to meet you.
Theoretically work from home demand shouldn’t come close to 1080p and 4k streaming demand at 9 shouldn’t it?
I’ve been doing intermittent speed tests all day all week and I’ve seen nothing different to usual speeds.
I’d like to add though the 4G network might come under more strain. Some companies are giving employees 4G dongles (paid for by company) to work from home. But Australia’s 4G network is great to start with anyway.
NBN: https://www.speedtest.net/result/9154523055.png Everything normal
4G: https://www.speedtest.net/result/9154528504.png Download normal but upload bad. Though I could check back in ten minutes and get wildly different speeds.
BRISBANE FESTIVAL IS A MAJOR INTERNATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL THAT EXPLODES ONTO THE SCENE EVERY SEPTEMBER WITH A THRILLING PROGRAM OF MUSIC, THEATRE, DANCE, OPERA, CIRCUS AND MAJOR PUBLIC EVENTS SUCH AS SUNSUPER RIVERFIRE. Brisbane Festival attracts an audience of around one million people every year. (Copied and paste from their website) It looks to go for about 20 days... and here is a link to the program http://issuu.com/brisbanefestival/docs/brisfest_printed_program_final_lr
This Brisbane map wallpaper was made with this app I am currently working on. I like how the top right part of the map seems bitten off.
Download my app AUS Rain Radar, might help you out over the weekend. You can grab it on the App Store or Google Play
Hope its useful, plenty of sleepless nights making this.
I practice street photography in the same area. These aren't street photography, there's no context or sense of place. Most of them are barely street portraits, as the subject is not engaged and there's no sense of connection between the photographer and the subject, or the subject and the viewer.
My Photos:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/jasmus
http://www.betweenthesprockets.com/
I always try to have a sense of place, or some context in my photos. If someone saw themselves in one of my photos and politely asked me to take it down, I would happily do so. I would probably even ask them if they wanted a full resolution copy so they can make a print for themselves.
I want people to see and like my photos. I feel good when people are excited about my work. I'd like to build trust by being a good person, not lose it by forgetting that the things in my photographs are actually individual people with individual preferences and feelings too.
Good morning everyone,
I am a university student at Griffith Nathan. Currently, Griffith and Optus are partnering to explore the opportunity for an eForest to enhance your experience in some of Southeast Queensland's unique forestry.
We are seeking feedback on your experiences in the bush whether you're a walker, biker, bird-watcher, anything! We'd like to know what your problems are with visiting the bush and what things could help. If you have a minute we'd love for some feedback on our survey that you can find here. Alternatively, you can just add a comment and I'll note them all down.
Thanks!
I like the idea, so I just ordered 500 to sell over facebook/ebay.
Will arrive in 30 days, anyone want to buy one?
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/hottest-child-water-proof-gps-tracking_60042664931.html
I found out Griffith don't have a tabletop/boardgame club.
Would anyone be interested in one? We would primarilly be based out of Griffith Nathan and I have found a few people who have shared interest, at the moment I have about 8 students showing interest, and two unaffiliated people. The requirement is 15 with 80% of the members being affiliated with the university.
We currently plan on playing more mature boardgames, such as:
Along with some RPGs, DnD/Pathfinder or Shadowrun for example, they make take a backseat until we are properly up and running however.
A mate of mine already has a fairly sizeable collection that we can borrow a few games from while we start up, it's 42 games large and can be viewed here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/NightmareBC?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1[1]
Would any Griffith University students be interested?
You can PM me your Student ID and name if you would like.

See you there!
Welcome to the community. You'll soon find yourself mostly stress free and saving a heap of money a week.
I've drawn out one possible route on Map My Run/Cycle.
You could take large shortcuts though - either through the Valley/New Farm, taking commercial road rather than skyring terrace. There is probably another even safer option - by riding along the river at New Farm rather than taking lower Bowen Terrace. Recommend having a go on this route on a Sunday morning and see how you go.
I'd be taking the footpath from Hawthorne until you get to Mowbray park until you get more confident.
Recommend also asking in Brisbane Cyclist. Very active forum with lots of helpful people.
Ignore them. They sound like a toll or one of those people that had a little anxiety and they feel what worked for them will work for everyone else.
It's attitudes like theirs that make things worse.
Edit: also get Reddit Enhancement Suite you can tag people for future reference, and block them rather then feed them!
https://www.amazon.com.au/Snake-Brand-Prickly-Cooling-Classic/dp/B00D5NGMZG
I am not even kidding. Sprinkle it all over before heading out.
I wouldn't call this portrayal biased, but merely focused. You can't cover the entirety of the refugee situation in a video and he might not be well versed in the very complex policy surrounding this. But I think that this is an important, nearly uncovered aspect by a lot of news sources.
If you would actually like to learn more though, I can recommend this book for an overview of Australia's refugee policy as it relates to international law. The same author also released an updated version but I haven't read it yet to vouch for it.
Yo.. so I finally released my game Wind-Up Warrior. It's free on Google Play!
I did up a little trailer as well for those visual learners out there, haha. If it sounds like your thing, check it out and lemme know what you think!
If you have an NFC enabled Android smartphone, this app might give you an indication if the chip can still be read.
You'd drive to the lookouts from the gantry to get the views. 4x4 recommended to do this, though I've done it in a Hyundai Elantra front wheel drive, towing a trailer (by necessity).
Our local rag has been bangin' on about this for about the last six months see current edition of the Village News, page 7 for example.
The letters to the editor section always have 'wont someone think of the children' soccer mums starting up a protest each week because they haven't got something new to whine about. Yawn.
Nice, ive just updated this on Open Street Map. Someone had mapped the path as 'under construction', I've made it 'rideable'.
This is the general area if anyone would like to confirm.
Hey there!
I'm an avid drone pilot and I have a few good spots that I like to recommend to people of varying flight experience.
• Redcliffe Peninsula
• Maleny/Montville
• Cunningham's Gap
• Cedar Creek
• Lake Moogerah
• Mount Coolum
Those are a few places to start as you've already covered Glasshouse and Mt. Mee.
A really handy tool to get on your phone is CASA's Can I Fly There? App.
Load it up when you're about to fly and it'll let you know if the area you're about to fly in is open, restricted or prohibited airspace.
As for flying near people, make sure to stay 30m away and don't fly directly over them. If you want to be extra courteous, I've started asking people if they're ok with me flying if I know they're going to be in the vicinity. Most people don't mind and in fact a lot of them are interested and will ask questions.
Good luck!
you definitely can see a GP, but im sure they'd only refer you to one of their chosing or the nearest one.
I also just rememered you can download the HealthEngine app and search for psych clinics around your location.
NordVPN a bit expensive ($115 for 2 years) but it's pretty good, no real speed issues, lots of un-geoblock servers, no logs and up to six devices. Edit: I've just noticed on a few streaming services I'll actually get much better video quality.
You've got to try a few servers if you want to un-geoblock things like Netflix.
If you haven't already, you might be able to remotely install Android Device Manager and then use it to locate the device. First link for installing, second for querying.

I’m currently doing an IT Diploma and the general gist is that yeah, you really do.
Try for at least a Cert. III and look at doing some Free Code Camp. It’ll give you some skills in coding and website design/development. w3schools is also a wealth of information if you want to try and familiarise yourself with the web part of IT.
Free code camp also has its own YpuTube channel, so highly recommend that.
I don't mean to be a dick, but the list is endless. Having no idea of your interests, here are just some things off the top of my head:
Ive been to a few places and they can all be boring as fuck if you dont try. Once again, not trying to be a dick but sometimes it comes naturally.
Thanks Lady_Killer
I will get working on social sign up options. To be honest I had considered it a while back but after coming across this post I thought I would shelf it for a later date. I didn't think many people use it either because they don't want to hand over all of their data or maybe some people just don't use social platforms to sign up for services. But thank you for the suggestion, I will be putting it in.
And I apologise for your password being sent in plain text. I hate it when other websites do that to me. It's a feature built into Wordpress, and when I modify the code it just doesn't send out a registration email at all. I'll definitely be working on this as I think it needs to go.
In terms of security though, I've got CSF installed, mod_sec filters, SSL on the server, and CloudFlare SSL along with their security features too. User information is hashed in the db, but either way the password in the email does need to be removed. I'm gonna get on to that on the weekend after exams.
And thank you very much for that. It's one of the main things we were going for when we set out to make it. Besides the technical aspect, the hardest part now will be getting it out there - and we don't have any experience with that. But we're learning as we go
Some will see it as weird, use meetup.com and you'll notice a few go to bars/clubs.. or do an activity then head to a bar or club so tbh it's not weird. You just have to deal with a bunch of odd folks till you hit some good.

CineOhFile #2: V Day
A Happy Valentines day to you good people. This Friday we are celebrating love and all things Halmark with these two gems:
Buffalo 66’: This is Vincent Gallow’s (The man most famous for convincing Chloë Sevigny to give a blowie on camera in the name of “art”) first and probably best film. It’s kinda a love story… well it is a love story. It’s just very different. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/4188077/buffalo_66_movie_trailer/
Punch Drunk Love: This is definitely a love story- but it also has many other good things going for it. It’s directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood, Magnolia, Boogie Nights). It has a great soundtrack by Jon Brion (I Heart Huckabee, Entrernal Sunshine For the Spottless Mind). It’s also proof that Adam Sandler (Jack and Jill, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry) was once in great movies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNeZi1y_v88
Great post! This is really helpful, and I'm sure a bunch of people will get a lot out of it. Also, how great is that Tony Robbins doco? I was ambivalent about him before I watched it, but came away impressed and inspired. For anyone interested, it's called 'I Am Not Your Guru'. Well worth a watch for anyone, including OP, I reckon.
This is the app I use. I'm not sure about iOS, but I suspect Apple doesn't expose the APIs that would be necessary to do this sort of analysis.
I'm using NordVPN; have been happy with them.
For some reason I get better speeds connecting through their US servers than I do their AU servers. Either way it meets my requirements and is fast enough to stream through.
Not yet, sorry. This early local web release was part of our funding deal.
If you want to try and get around it, I'd recommend getting a VPN or a Chrome add on that masks your IP (I use Private Internet Access). This let's you circumvent outdated geo-locking laws for sites like Netflix too.
Sorry I can't help you more.
Very common. When I was working in Eagle Farm, the 303 to Doomben was often early. Get this app (if you're on Android) and bookmark your bus routes. It uses the bus' GPS to show its position on the route map. I used it for a couple of years with very few issues. Occasionally the bus wouldn't appear on the map but 99% of the time it's accurate.
I happened to be watching Gardening Australia and this was explained. It's run by the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia.
Pretty much, you take a picture and fill a form and send it of for the department to identify with human eyes. I thought it was pretty cool what they're doing.
Yeah, nice try. Cite some actual numbers instead of pulling them out of your ass. On that note, why the fuck haven't you moved away from this city? Christ.
Write to Melbourne Bike Share or the transport minister (Terry Mulder). I doubt they'll ever release a statement about it but they do respond to written letters on the topic.
There's no practical way to inspect them for damage. You can't tell if one has been dropped on the ground, for example, just by looking so you don't really have a choice but to bin them.
EDIT: According to Melbourne Bike Share's official Twitter account I may be mistaken about this: https://twitter.com/melbbikeshare/status/103095220647899136
But it's possible that the person posting the tweets is out of sync with the rest of the organisation and the transport ministry on this. Certainly it conflicts with what has been said privately in the past.
I replied to the tweet asking if they've worked out a way to determine if the helmets have been dropped. I suspect, like Queensland, it's all about paying lip service to the laws so they probably don't really care.
There are caches all over the place, in urban and bush areas.
If you register at geocaching.com you can search for local caches then download the official app on your phone and give it a go.
You'll only see a fairly limited number of the available caches unless you pay the annual subscription fee but it'll give you a fair idea of whether you think you'll enjoy it.
Premium membership is currently USD30 and worth it in my opinion.
There are also regular meetups of local cachers organised on Facebook.
I'll throw in a few that I used in my dating days, including a few that I used on my now wife
The Planetarium - same concept as a movie cinema date except you can go for a walk afterwards or go up to Mt Coo-Tha and look at what you just learned about
Newstead Park - or more specifically the bench along the river at Newstead Park (you can see it here. You can sit there and watch the boats go past at night, the lights of the city beside you . It's beautiful. However be warned the gates of Newstead Park shut at 7 or 8pm so you need to be out before then, or be parked on the street. Nothing says romance like being locked inside a park.

I got the feminist cross stitch book too… and I LOVE it… maybe I’ll start with cross stitch for a start hmmmmm
Both these books are so good!!!! I really need to start doing it!!!!!
Look up "thatoneprivacyguy" or something; he runs a site comparing heaps of vpns and has reviewed some.
I've used a few, and generally recommend you trial the ones your interested in as they often do offer monthly plans.
If you were to push me for names: I'd say Nord seems ok/middle of the pack, BlackVPN are premium, cryptostorm appears seriously paranoid in a good way, PIA is a US based company who I suspect astroturf too hard.
Freedome - I get 80/20 speedtest with 46ms ping when using Melbourne exit node. Anything OS will be pretty shit, netflix should work though.
Don't do free VPN, Troy Hunt has a good blog post on VPN providers.
There are plenty of other good authors on behavioural economics, if you want to learn more.
Dan Ariely is super easy to read (I think "Predictably Irrational" is his first book), and the "godfather" of the field, Danny Kahneman has a great book "Thinking Fast and Slow". Also, Richard Thaler's book "Nudge" is worth the read.
Spotted a woman on the train who'd completely flaked out. She had slipped down the seat like you do on a super comfy couch, her head was flopped to the side (not on the passenger next to her at least) and her hair was all over her face - kinda like the guy on the left. Felt sorry for her because it's only Tuesday.
Some family dramas came to light last night that were not expected. Certainly makes the person creating and perpetuating them look like a massive narcissist. Hopefully they don't reach out to me because they made my little girl cry last week and I'm still seething from it.
Also, I found a new icon pack for my phone which looks pretty schmick.
My gf and I have been using Go Brisbane for a while and quite like it. The devs were very quick in responding to a problem I was having too.
Interesting, ta.
Here's possibly a better link if anyone wanted to read the full article without a paywall
> how can I prepare for the course?
you create an account at https://www.freecodecamp.org and you get started right now.
Many of the IT-related TAFE courses are fast-paced, so you need at least a passing familiarity with the concepts before you head in, or you risk being left behind. Maybe this one is more chill, but you have to know it anyway, so why not have a crack at it it ahead of time and avoid most of the stress?
Nattai NP - South of Sydney. A route called starlight trail. I hiked past it a few years ago when I was doing a week-long hike through the Blue Mountains. I was good to go back and visit with the little one. Trying to workout how possible a longer 3 day hike would be with the little one.
Actually there's no real coding involved. ING has some pre-packaged applets that have preconfigured trigger+action, so in most cases all you need to do is turn it on and authenticate your identity with fitbit and ING.
I also took the liberty of Google Docsing the timetable for the three main stages for maximum fun-times planning.
I use the Weather Underground Wundermap (https://www.wunderground.com/weather/au/meeandah/-27.43000031%2C153.1000061 - click on Wundermap on the left)
It hooks into official and amateur weather stations so you can see the average across brisbane or all across the SE.
Heads up to everyone: get a dash cam.
http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_196898.html
Not the best camera in the world, but when I got it, it was the recommended cheapy. Not sure if it still is. It does a good job of capturing number plates
For the most part I'd avoid the Uniden/Navman cameras that are sold in the usual suspect electronics shops - Not because they're terrible but because they're overpriced.
I recently installed a G1W-CB in my car which I bought from GearBest at the recommendation of OzBargain. I chose the '-C' model because there's no battery in it, just a capacitor which means it's less likely to get all explodey as the car heats up while parked in the sun. Drawback to this is that it won't turn on and record if someone hits my car while it's parked but that's a trade-off I can live with. Some with the battery have a parking mode that will do this which could be handy depending on your situation.
Quite a few people have posted footage on Youtube of a day/night comparison for their particular camera so when you have a short list jump on there and see what it actually looks like from within a car so you get an idea of what you're actually buying.
Most cameras will just use a micro SD card. They can be had pretty cheaply from eBay - again OzBargain will guide you to the best brand, capacity and read/write speeds for your camera. The concensus for my G1W-CB was a Samsung Evo C10 card in the largest capacity affordable to you. I'm running a 64GB with no trouble.
Last thing to consider is how you plan to power it and cable routing from the camera to power source - Most come with a lighter adaptor power supply and a long cable that you can tuck into the headliner and down the A-pillar but depending on your car this could mean your only socket is occupied 24/7. Consider spacing for a double adaptor so you can also run a phone charger or maybe even hard-wiring the camera into the fuse box if you're so inclined.
Same for Canada: http://www.canadianimmigration.net/criminal-inadmissibility/drug-offences/
The UK also have a similar policy http://wikitravel.org/en/Travelling_with_a_criminal_history
I will admit, most places are more lax than I would have imagined.
This is mine. Slower than normal but not by much.
After being a customer for years I feel like Optus is so bad with customer service and will use any excuse they can to get away with providing a shoddy internet connection.
A fun little jaunt. I went to the last series and it was pretty amusing. The neat thing is that all the actors know who the murderer is, except the detective who has to solve it along with the audience.
Edit - more about the show: There are six shows. Being improvised each show is different based on offers from the audience (You fill out a form before you enter the audience, they're not going to point at you and ask things).
Not sure if you can see this, but here are some photos I took at last year's season
What kind of hearing aids do you have? Something to remember is that not all hearing aids are equal, and it does take a long time to "re-program" (for lack of a better word) your brain to hearing a different way.
If you have a smartphone, can you stream radio or music directly via your bluetooth? I know that some brands have the bluetooth built in, and others need a wearable dongle. This might save you having to buy a speaker to start with?
You should be able to work with the place that you bought them from, to manage the overall volume. They could actually set it up so that every few weeks you go in, and they steadily increase the program volumes to the profile of "normal hearing" so you're not getting bombarded with new sounds all at once.
I'm about to go from a pair of 6 year old Siemens Behind The Ear (BTE) ones to a pair of Costco Signature 6.0 ones (basically rebranded Resound Linx) so I'm in for a bit of a sound learning curve again. Good luck to you! :)

Are you talking about uninformed purchases, or conspicuous consumption? Nowadays Rolls is probably all about conspicuous consumption, but the saying isn't new - it means the very best-in-class.
I recently wired up my place with Fibaro switches - 20 modules in total controlling 33 switches. Everything is controlled with a Rasberry Pi3 running Home Assistant. Integrated with my Google Home, so I can turn lights on/off with my voice, an app on my phone or through automations (e.g. dim lights in the lounge room when Netflix starts playing)
I bought everything online from here although there are other Australian sellers.
The switches have been rock solid for the last 2 1/2 months and the electrician found them quite easy to install. I haven't had any experience with them but the new Aeotec Nano switches seem to have a good rep also (the first gen apparently sucked) and are slightly cheaper too.
It's probably a long shot, but my uni is having a get together for people interested in, or working in, web dev/design. It's this Thursday, goes for a few hours, and you might be able to chat someone into giving you a job, or at least make some connections. https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=180701251983177
There's a great little park just down from the Bardon water tower, tiny little thing with a couple of massive old trees and two or three benches, but it's always quiet and has a perfect view of the city at night... lovely spot for a star light picnic with champagne...
I may be wrong but I think it has something to do with the next moon cycle starting with a super full moon on 11 August. for more info on that go here http://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moon/super-full-moon.html
Get as much light as possible in the morning, and a little as possible in the afternoon to regulate your melatonin.
f.lux for your computer/iPhone. Twilight for Android phones.
Exercise hard as xenor said.
Take a warm shower before bed, then make sure your room is cool (not a problem at the moment). The change from hot to cold works like magic on me.
My cold-weather coping strategy involves pillow boots (I tried googling for a picture of them, couldn't find any) and a snuggie. Also, plenty of hot tea from this little guy.
>Do you seriously think a company that is getting government aid will bag the government?? Of course they'll put a "this is not a carbon tax thing".
Here's an article from 5 months ago citing the same pressures (A$, low metal costs, exchange rates) as the article you linked.
Why would it make sense that Alcoa wouldn't blame the carbon tax, but Brix would... yet they are both given govt grants.
PROTIP: Try AbeBooks. They ship from the US and UK/Ireland. They charge shipping, but it usually turns out cheaper than the Book Depository who inflate thier book prices to cover shipping. The second hand deals are great. You can get hard to find or out of print books for $10 including shipping. The strong Aussie dollar makes it extra awesome.
Random example: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas ($21.95 at Boarders online):
Abe - $6.79. That's more than 50 percent cheaper.
They call it a "replica" in most articles. It's a bit rich to call it a replica when it was clearly a home made training aid cobbled together from scrap metal. Literally flat mild steel and some square tubing.
If it really were a replica in the traditional sense then QLD Police might have a leg to stand on regarding the public nuisance charge - I hope it simply gets thrown out of court nonetheless.

I can't help you with the first part of your journey, except to say "get yourself onto the Kedron Brook Bikeway".
Once you're there though, it's easy. A fantastic route. Head east along the bikeway until you're in the Grange and exit onto Uxbridge Street.
Follow that to briefly go along Days Rd before going down the nice low-speed Kedron Brook Rd. Head straight at the lights down the quiet residential street next to the park, and cross the creek at the pedestrian/cyclist bridge. Head straight south there until you reach Herston Rd, head left on that (or cross the road and ride on the southern footpath here) until you reach the bike path just past the bus stop.
Take the right fork after you pass Brisbane Grammar, which will take you through to the Roma Street Parklands. From there it's really up to you, depending on where in the CBD you want to go, and what types of streets you feel comfortable with.
If the drive is accessible, but showing as empty, I suggest using something like Getdataback, which I have had a lot of success with.
I would never advocate piracy, but I'm sure you could probably find a copy of the full version somewhere

Enjoy.
Drop into a zip file, and put a password on it.
Then upload it to a secure download host. eg https://disroot.org/en/services/upload
email them with the instructions to call you for the password and last 4 letters of the URL.
If anyone else wants to check if they are registered with or be alerted when popular websites get hacked you can register for free on https://haveibeenpwned.com
*edit: this generally alerts you if your email address appears online. Websites and companies that don't publish breaches won't appear unless someone whistle blows. Using different passwords and two-factor authentication is better.
Looks like I'm not on NBN yet. But my down speed went from 50 to 100 down now on cable, so they must have just boosted the whole area? I don't know.
Pro tip for the future: Check out Crashplan (https://www.crashplan.com/en-us/features/)
You can either pay for cloud storage, or use the free method which involves backing up your computer to a friend/family/other computer of yours.
Their cloud storage is hosted in Australia now too, so the speeds are delicious.
I've just recently started creating a small game as a project. Most of the work has been on the "behind the scenes" stuff, so isn't much video to show at the moment, but I do have an Indie DB page set up for it.
Guess you are the young las that posted on Redcliffe Vegans.
Wish you luck in finding some friends in the younger age bracket, you may have to settle on travelling into the City to hang out with people close to your age.
Otherwise maybe try meetup.com or join some team sports like others have suggested...

A cool Redditor from Brisbane made this app for QLD Fireworks, full credit to them. Someone please link user as I have forgotten who it was.

Big fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bit 'em. And little fleas have littler fleas and so ad infinitum.

My missus gets stressed af and loses the plot every time she has an interview, and as a result she's been at the same level for about 10 years. However, she's been encouraged to apply for a number of roles 2 levels above hers, not only by her direct supervisor but by the director as well, AND the fact that there are some real wankers in the department that will apply as well (and probably get in), so she's thinking that she pretty much HAS to apply otherwise she'll be pissed off at the wankers being above her.
So she's starting to freak out about the potential interview. I'm very tempted to get her this book for xmas.
