Actually, uk pronunciation is La-tay, us is Lar-tay.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/latte

Now go argue with the dictionary.
I use the TramTracks app to see when the trams are actually going to arrive, it seems to get it right most of the time.
Sounds like you might like The Star and Garter. - They sometimes have a Smiths/Morrisey disco, but that may be mainly in evening.
A list of decent "old man pubs" can be found here but I don't think you sound like you want those really, as nice as they are.
If the map on the bottom-right corner of this Gumtree page is to be believed, this twat lives at (or around) 17 Hartington Street. Have a sniff around and see what you can find.
Note: the address is an approximation. It might not even be his house. Don't do anything silly just in case.
Oh, also, big shout-out to the Citymapper app which is great for Manchester and many other cities besides. I use it much more than I do the GMPTE pages these days. You can even narrow your search by bus company, which is useful if you have a specific pass.
If you want somewhere close, I tend to head to Lyme Park really early for the free parking, then actually leave the park up through the woods and via the Gritstone Trail.
You can keep heading South towards Macclesfield forest, Buxton, Shining Tor, Shutlingsloe and other places. Macc forest is also good to start at and less busy than most of Derbyshire.
Mine was a trail run/boggy walk but you can see where I went and elevation on this Strava link.
Last time I went I probably only saw a couple of people for a good few hours. Even the high points like Shining Tor, there was only a handful of people.
Bonus is, Lyme Park isn't as far out as other places like Pendle Hill to get to. Using it as a base has become my favourite spot for fell running training.
There's lots of programming jobs about but I think a lot of them ask for a degree. If you can create some good personal projects and list them on your CV you might be able to get past the screening for some companies.
After the initial screening you'll usually have a technical assessment which usually involves solving coding problems either live on a call or at home and submitting the solution. So if you can get to that part and do well you should have a decent chance. A lot of companies pull questions straight from LeetCode, so might be worth having a look on there and seeing where you are. I imagine most will ask easy level questions with maybe a medium level.
Set up a job alert for Software Developers on LinkedIn and just keep checking back, these are some that have come up for me in the last couple of months hiring Juniors/Graduates in Manchester:
If you struggle to get past the screening stage to the technical interview maybe have a look in to some coding Boot Camp courses. They usually don't last too long and can open the door for some companies but I don't really have any experience with them, and YMMV.
You might get some more responses asking on /r/cscareerquestionsEU as well, there's lots of people from around the UK on there and you can get decent advice.
have you tried first learning on your own? i'd recommend starting with the free resources from the internet such as the odin project and full stack open. go to a bootcamp only if you feel you've stagnated and you need a studying curricula and community
Just had a quick search at £90/week
5-10 miles? It varies: Chorlton, Whalley Range, Rusholme, Withington, Levenshulme, Cheadle..
edit: Of course, the standards can vary by loads too. Always get a viewing and feel of the people, place first etc etc. Needless to say, if you can afford a little more, paying £100/week for example could get you nicer place in Didsbury (but it depends on your lifestyle, situation...)
There's a lol lan soon. I linked the kickstarter below, but it's already fully funded, so you can buy a ticket for a few quid I think.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/uomesports/king-of-the-north?ref=live
It's a bit of a longshot, but if anyone is into Venetian Snares (or breakcore in general) he's playing at Soup Kitchen on the 25th of May. Here's a link to buy tickets and if you're unfamiliar with the kind of music he produces, give this a click.
Coffee4craig (who run a homeless drop-in centre just outside the city centre) are really needed people to help out in the evening. Please PM for more info https://airtable.com/shrdKmi5bRtWkbrag?ltclid=575e140b-6720-412e-984a-5fb91ffb04de
I wouldn't want to spam this subreddit with Barcraft stuff considering it's relatively low speed, but just to let anyone who was on the fence about going to the first one - It was actually great! So you have to come this time!
You can get more info about Barcraft on /r/barcraft.

It’s about a 2 mile walk from the town centre itself but if you’re into hiking there’s longer routes which pass it! I use the All Trails app which is really handy! You can find the route we did here - https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/jubilee-cave-circular-walk--3?p=-1
If you are a football fan visit the Football Museum. Its absolutely brilliant. Here is a Map link
Just chipping in here! The MadLab (sci fi) book club has been running several years, and there's often copies of the books floating around for loan (as supplied by Central Library) if you don't want to invest in your own.
There's a Google group for the ... group ... here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!forum/manchester-sci-fi
Fourthed. Although citymapper is also pretty good.
Edit: And citymapper has the bonus of the one thing that's missing on Google, being able to choose First only/Stagecoach only.
use citymapper:
Put the postcodes in.
Taxi is your best bet - use an uber to keep the costs down (if they're knocking about so early).
This app is great. Pretty much everyone I know in London has it and uses it religiously, and it's also great for Manchester.
I'm going to jump in and suggest you use Waze. You can set your home destination and your working hours and it will give you a popup just before you expect to leave and tell you how bad the commute it going to be. Honestly, Waze is just the tits at everything.
CityMapper does the same thing, except it's public transport. Both on Android and iPhone.
Follow the Fallowfield Loop, cut across to Chorlton Water Park, pick up the Mersey through Hardy Farm to Sale Water Park. These three areas have many paths to either side of the Mersey that you can use to vary your route (I find Open Street Map is better for this). After Sale Water Park get on to the Bridgewater Canal towpath and follow it to the city centre before heading back to Rusholme.
You can go the other way along the Fallowfield Loop and get the canal back to the city centre. For a shorter route, look out for signs to Sportcity and pick up a path that goes through Gorton before reaching the canal.
Personally, I'd just pop in my USB drive with UBCD on (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ ) but you don't need all those tools just to do a memory test. Memtest86 seems to be the traditionally option, but apparently there is a windows tool.
Have a read of this https://www.howtogeek.com/260813/how-to-test-your-computers-ram-for-problems/
The MEN website feels like its using 213 different advertising technologies.
That's because they are using 213 different advertising technologies....
I bought a grey Tshirt with the yellow Manchester worker bee symbol from Amazon and it's great quality: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XKT8W6N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QqCpzb0FTQ41S
Also have a look at Etsy - they have lots of other variations too: https://www.etsy.com/uk/search/clothing?q=manchester+bee&explicit=1&page=1
Just to mention, I doubt these options are direct donators to the emergency charities...
Do you have Amazon Prime? You can possibly get some in a couple hours if you order from the Prime Now app, should be available across most of mancs. Can also use the prime trial if you've not used it yet.
I can get this stuff on there right now
Course if you can get to a shop it might be cheaper since you won't have the delivery cost
The ones provided by ISPs are of varying quality. BT claims there's is good (I beleive it is) and uses it as the main selling point of their internet offerings. Personally I got an ASUS DSL-AC67U years ago, and its been fantastic (so quality of the ISP-provided router is irrelevant to me, it juts sits in its box), but it's also expensive beyond what is reasonable for most people's use cases.
It's worth diving in to the provided router's settings page first, and investigating a few things:
Can you seperate the 5ghz and 2.4ghz in to two seperately named networks? This way you can connect devices close enough to the faster 5ghz network, and devices further away to the slower, but longer ranged 2.4. Most devices that are capable of both will prefer 5ghz - fine, but not always what you want when you are on the range limit.
Can you change the channel of the two networks? Many ISP routers default to a particular channel - which may be a crowded one. You can get a wifi scanner app for your phone (I use this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en_GB) to see which channels have the least other networks on and switch to that.
If any of your devices that are having trouble are fixed in place, you could also look in to either a network cable, or failing that, powerline adapters - these transmit network signals through your domestic wiring. How well it works depends on a bunch of factors, but it can work very well indeed. You can also get powerline wifi extenders, which are normally a better bet than the "wifi-wifi extenders" which are problematic in a whole bunch of ways.
Check the reviews: 933 reviews averaging at 1.6/5*. So not only my issue. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tfgm.getmethere I've complained like the others but Metrolink doesn't care.
To be fair, some companies can do it right: Trainline app works perfectly and i always use the mobile tickets there.
It's on Amazon. £39.99
According to an answer from the TripAdvisor page "residents and non-residents may dine" at the restaurant so it looks like you're good to go!
I think this is a fantastic initiative and hope it does well. Too many people are in situations where they don't have people around them day-to-day to whom they feel they can let their guard down and just talk.
I would just like to mention that the symbol chosen is possibly unfortunate as it's become a bit of a far right "gang sign" in the US and on the internet. I'm no expert in its use and origins but it has been mentioned quite a bit around the NZ terrorist atrocity.
I would hate to see anyone misrepresenting pictures of potentially fragile people making that sign to cause trouble.
Yeah no problem mate. The lessons consist of going through this book for the level 1 course. So each lesson you’ll go through one chapter, the teacher will also add extra content for each lesson.
They’ll assign you homework as well to revise the previous lessons content and more. It’s not that bad if you miss a lesson because you can just cover the new chapter in your own time but you’ll miss out on pronunciations/tones and whatnot which is useful. I will note that the teachers are very friendly so you can message them outside of class hours, for example I missed one lesson and just recorded myself pronouncing new words/sentences and she responded with corrections etc. So I wouldn’t worry too much about missing a lesson, only issue is you pay upfront for the lessons (you either buy the first half then decide after if you want to continue or buy all 10 upfront, which is the cheaper option) so if you miss a lesson you won’t get any money back.
Thanks! They're really good, and despite Amazon advertising buying one with a battery, you don't need to, as it does come with.
Don’t laugh, but Amazon and shein. It might not be your thing, but these dresses are great. https://www.amazon.com/xxxiticat-Sleeveless-Spaghetti-Cocktail-Evening/dp/B095W3CHJC/ref=grr_s_dr_sccl_6/143-0887237-0113128?pd_rd_w=DVGkn&content-id=amzn1.sym.bbfa7fea-c9c0-4d05-aa4c-aa7778da7fa3&pf_rd_p=bbfa7fea-c9c0-4d05-aa4c-aa7778da7f...
We have a door brace like this... it works well, although it will depend on what sort of door handle you have.
The bottom of it will slip on dry floor tiling, so if it's dampened with a bit of water first it sticks.. and it is very strong. My OH tried to force the door open when it was in place and it won't budge.
Reading through the comments to see if this type of thing was in here, glad it is. It's the same with a car really, you want your house/car to look like an absolute fucking pain in the arse to break into
Sash jammers are brilliant, makes it so much harder to get in. I out them all over my mum's house (she's on her own and makes her feel much safer), and some in ours
We've got this which quite frankly is amazing and simple; https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01A8TMMLM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Only other thing I can think of are things that they can see, such as stickers which say 'this alarm will trigger a police response' type thing
I know the police should totally sort it, but burglary is so tough in general, never mind with a police force cut to fuck (although they should at least show they care)
Hope it doesn't happen again
Have you been to Sale Water Park / Chorlton Water Park? The whole Mersey River area is lovely. Closer to home and somewhat smaller, Alexandra Park in Moss Side is very nice.
Both are south of Stretford Road.
Cycled that loop line and busway from Leigh to Manchester and Timelapse’d the whole thing on Monday. Was a very nice ride. I would definitely recommend the route, though the hills on the busway caught me out a bit.
OP, I’d recommend planning it on Komoot as it will specifically choose cycle-friendly routes for you and will let you send it to your gps/phone.
It wasn't Giovanni's Deli on New York Street (between China Town and Piccadilly tower, off Portland Street), was it?

About 50 quid. But worthless with only one. Nice thought posting on here though.
Maybe this one?

It's got a back wheel but it's the same colouring and was only posted an hour ago to the site.
Also it's being sold from an address about 5 minutes walk from your postcode.
wow! just seen your post! we are trying to build just the place! we are currently on kickstarter trying to build a freelancer hub in manchester which will be open until 9pm.... have a look and if you can pre buy a brew! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/futureartists/the-home-of-honest-coffee-manchester
I think it was something like this. To get to Sheffield I guess you could turn off anywhere from Flash to Hope. Worth noting that there are some bits of less quiet roads - from Woodford to where you turn off to on Butley lane to prestbury is generally not that quiet, and coming down from Mam Tor is of course an A road (but you're going down hill, so at least it's not hard!
Your instagram link does not work. Also your pagespeed score for mobile is very poor. Considering lately around 60-70% of ecommerce sales are done through tablet and phone channels, you should try to get it at least to a 50-60, it's currentñy 29. https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=magentaworld.co.uk&tab=mobile
You could use yourparkingspace for a month and negotiate with the owner of the space for a longer let. That's what I did with my space. The site takes something like 20% commission a month so a deal can usually be struck. On gumtree there's this one in the w3 building for £100 pm but not sure if it's still available https://www.gumtree.com/p/garage-parking-to-rent/car-park-space-available-for-rent-at-w3-building-on-oxford-road/1237049706
Hi, I do a bit of freelance academic editing. https://www.gumtree.com/p/proof-reading/proofreadereditor-available-affordable-rates/1170805209 send me an email on there if you want. I've not got a PhD but have got an English degree and I'm doing an MRes in literature. That's also a really old advert so I'd be open to discussing prices and such & would be happy to meet :)
Not far from you is the Bollin Valley Way. Find yourself somewhere to park around here:
https://goo.gl/maps/KSD2YqRVkpJB9h3C9
Then walk up the road to the fire station, and down the path at the side. That'll take you to the absolutely gigantic tunnel beneath the runway, which has bat boxes and things in it.
Come out the other side, the Bollin river is very nice down there. Walk southwest towards Wood Lane, along the public footpaths through the fields. They'll all be nice and dry and the stiles are all in good order (I was there a few weeks back)
Come around the runway and head back northeast, toward Bollin House Farm and "Hydraulic Ram". It is gorgeous around there, a lovely quiet peaceful valley full of nature. Walk through the meadow near Hooksbank Wood and back to the road.
The airport is deathly quiet right now so now's the time to experience that area.
If you don't mind road riding, there's some decent routes around the airport and into Cheshire. I do a variation on this and it's always quiet. There's plenty of options to make it even longer by heading towards Tatton Park, High Legh, and Antrobus.
No problem - it's very rewarding to hear good feedback about the place from people you've not directly influenced! Generally, the idea is that, yes, you just rock up to anything that takes your fancy. Sometimes there's events we need to book through eventbrite due to capacity, but 99% of things that happen there are free. It's like a continuous, low-level barcamp, all year round. The Bio and HacMAN groups are always interesting - at Bio we've been doing things like building power cells out of dirt or redesigning equipment to be a fraction of it's commercial cost. HacMAN is lots of hardware hackers and embedded systems people - we've made some cute projects with them like the Project-a-sketch - https://vimeo.com/20199765
If you want to see what it looks like inside, we photograph a lot of our activities - see http://www.flickr.com/photos/madlabuk/sets/ .
A lot of the technology people are into there tends to be open-source, and that's very much the approach we have to everything - part of the idea is to help lots of groups open up their knowledge and access to be more than the sum of the parts. If you're coming to a techie group, it's a good idea to bring your own laptop, as we don't have public computers to use.
As for OP, there's nothing actually happening on Friday night - even geeks have social lives these days - but through the day is the Manchester Jelly, which is a drop-in hotdesking day for freelancers wanting to get out. Turn up, hit the wifi, and work somewhere else with other people around! (we ask a £5 donation, but it's not obligatory - it covers the tea, coffee, and breakfast snackettes). We also have a ridiculously fast network connection (provided thanks to the MDDA), so if you're ever looking for a fast, open, and free connection, you know where to hang out.
Something related to tourism in Harrogate might be an option.
They push for tourists from Europe, so your french language could be handy.
I guess London may be the better option, although Manchester is also fine.

I wrote The Drug Users Bible (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/099559368X) for which I self-administered 157 different drugs. This was an early one, but once I had possession of that nice shiny packet, occasionally re-testing didn't seem to be a huge drama; until it bit me. It was serious lesson right at the start.
Sounds like it is literally identical to Tramtrack in terms of functionality. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.robaldred.tramtrack (Note, this isn't a criticism per se, useful to have more options so hopefully one remains maintained)
My experience of using that by the way, is while the app itself is reliable, the data from the Metrolink API isn't. Estimates can be off by a fair bit, so I wound up always just walking to the stop when I was ready rather than trying to time it - although occasionally it was useful in letting me know hurrying was worth it. Also, Trams were mostly every 6 minutes at that point so it didn't matter too much most of the time.
Thank you so much, that's great to hear!
If it's not too cheeky, could I ask you to leave a review on Goodreads and Amazon please? Reviews mean so much, they're so important for up and coming authors.

Thank you again!
I suggest heading from Bredbury in the direction of Denton and following the M60 in an anti-clockwise direction as that makes the ring road a non stop loop all the way back to Bredbury if there's no traffic, just keep moving all the way over to the left lane after passing junction 19 for Middleton. If you instead head clockwise (from Bredbury toward Stockport) you have to negotiate a roundabout at Junction 18 where the M62 and m66 meet the M60 which will always have at least one set of lights on red.
Rather than thrashing the car you just need to have the revs over 2000rpm for around 15 minutes to force a DPF regeneration cycle, so no need to go at 100mph, just use a lower gear and stay under the speed limit.
A lap of the M60 is around 36 miles so ensure you have enough fuel for that distance, it should take around 30 minutes at 70mph, that should be ample for a regen cycle.
As for diagnosing faults with the car, I recommend one of these from amazon, download the accompanying app to your phone or tablet, then read the codes and google them for yourself.
Charlie Owen's Horse's Arse - Set in a fictional council estate in North Manchester where all the undesirables got sent following some gentrification but also where all the undesirable cops got sent.
For a fiver you can buy a leather punch tool like this and do it yourself. Useful for bags etc too.
Hey, I'd be happy to do this.
By device do you mean what mic? I have a Snowball mic I could use with my laptop.
Ring the council as others have said, but you also might want to think about getting an easy fit blackout blind for your window.

Pokemon Go is now officially out in the UK:
I uninstalled the version I had, re downloaded from the app store and logged in. No progress lost and seems to be more stable :)
I use this for Android. You can set alarms to remind you. It has ISS and Iridium for free, but you can purchase extensions for other stuff.
Not affiliated with it, just find it useful.
