Accent vs dialect, from Rosetta Stone:
> Perhaps the easiest way to think of the difference between accents and dialects is to first understand that accents are only a part of what makes up a dialect. An accent is simply how one pronounces words—a style of pronunciation. A dialect includes not just pronunciations, but also one’s general vocabulary and grammar. > > As an example, someone from the United States may say, “Would you like some tea?”, while a person from the UK might instead say, “Fancy a cuppa?” They’re both speaking English, and they’re both expressing the exact same idea. But not only would the pronunciation (the accent) be different, the choice of vocabulary and the grammar behind both sentences is clearly distinct. > > Within any given language, both dialect and accent will vary—both largely a product of geography/regionality. Someone in coastal northwestern France sounds quite different than someone from Paris. A person from the Swabian region of Germany (Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg) will often sound wildly different than another from Hamburg in the north.

If you actually read the title and try to comprehend what its asking maybe you wouldn’t have that urge to be such an asshole.
And if you still don’t know what I’m requesting, than there is a “try it free” for Rosetta Stone
Seems pretty obvious now but yeah, it looks like that was Corky's ace in the hole in the Family. 'Commendatori' is really a great example of what you're talking about. It's a nice display of Tony's failings and success as a boss. He's a completely alien creature in a strange place but still manages to secure an important assassin while strengthening transatlantic alliances. You're right about his language opportunities though. He had more than enough time to watch the History Channel.
Rosetta Stone isn't for free anymore but you can get it with a miltiary discount.
The KATUSA's will be happy to help.
You can also try the Education Center On Post.
Obviously if your school offers it that'd be the easiest way. One site I know of that a friend used is Rosetta Stone which has an extensive volume of lessons that will serve you well; though I think the personal contact of a classroom language study does you a lot of good, RS more than suffices for getting into it.
3 options for your AH husband to utilize to better be able to understand his children in their native language. 2 things will happen if you show your husband this thread. He'll wake the hell up and do something about his communication problems, or he'll double down and throw a fit. Only you can know, but either way, OP, NTA.
"i think he made a terrible choice"..... that kind of sounds like a mistake to me. But hey what do i know? The english language can be tough man i get it, thats why i included this link to rosetta stone english edition. Hope it helps.
Hi there!
Busuu can seem to be boring so far, like Duolingo.
Some Spanish learners really like Rosetta Stone (the software uses images, text, and sound to teach words and grammar by spaced repetition, without translation).
Preply is a good resource for learning a language with professionals.
Memrise is a not bad option if you like flashcards.
I hope you will find the best option for learning Spanish.
Good luck!
Here ya go bud invest in your future, cause no job is gonna hire you with this English.
Learn russian easy! only 7.49/month
Tofugu is a free site that walks you through absolutely everything you'll need.
I can also recommend Rosetta Stone for practicing but it's a monthly payment.
If you learn fast and efficient you can be pretty much fluent in japanese in about 3 months with these two tools.
Wow I can't believe that's free with a card! Rosetta Stone sounds like such a cool company. I was reading about how they're helping indigenous groups in America preserve their languages with their Endangered Languages program and some of the stories blew my mind with how much effort the teams went through, especially for the Chitimacha. They brought their language basically back from extinction using old wax cylinder recordings. I hope the project continues and expands outside the USA in the future.
Thanks for the direct link, also! I was having a hard time finding it earlier on the mobile site.
> dont say oh your using it wrong well im not
You're using it wrong.
> how can you when they move non stop
Tracking. Move your mouse when you shoot your gun.
> maw that dam gun fires way to dam fast like exsample 750
Every weapon in the game has a specific combination of two characteristics that are used to determine (ideal) TTK. These characteristics are rate of fire (RoF), and damage. A typical gun with low damage will have a high RoF, and a high damage gun will have a lower RoF. This technique (combined with other weapon stats/characteristics) is to keep the TTK of different guns in line with how the gunplay works in the game.
Lastly,
I recommend this, and also aiming better.
I hear Rosetta stones works. https://www.rosettastone.com/
I'm sorta trilingual, fluent in 2.5 languages. I learned it by not being afraid to communicate it the other languages when possible. I know I make mistakes, but that's the only way to learn a language is by using it. I often ask people I trust to correct me but they rarely do because they are happy I'm making an attempt at speaking their language. Can you ask your parents to speak to you Spanish? To start of slow, it could be a dedicated Spanish Wednesday where everyone speaks Spanish in the house? Or make it a dinner table thing, only speak Spanish at the dinner table.
One possibility is Rosetta Stone, another is to take professional classes. There is also likely numerous books on German, some may be present in libraries in your country and in your language.
Oh didn’t realize basic literacy was so tough for you, I think I can help:
Have a merry Christmas bud :)
Somebody barely passed English....😅
Let me kindly point you in the right direction..

Have a nice day! 😉
I'm just trying to figure out if this is supposed to be English. But after more garbage from you, I just know you speak ghetto trash. I can't really converse in ghetto trash, so I guess I'll have to just wish you a good day.
Might want to work on your English skills though.
Oh bud that isn’t me asking for you anything, non the less evidence you have. Is it the word “asking” or “evidence” you’re having trouble with?
https://www.rosettastone.com/languages/learn-english/
Hopefully that link can help clear things up :)
would you prefer oxford? https://www.oxford-royale.com/articles/learning-english-hard/ what about sites dedicated to teaching languages? https://www.rosettastone.com/languages/is-english-a-hard-language-to-learn maybe this site that is all about studying the english language? https://excelenglishinstitute.com/why-is-learning-english-so-hard the point being english is generally regarded as a difficult language to learn
Pues Rosetta Stone tiene mucho prestigio, era muy popular antes de las apps, vendían sus cursos en CD ROM. Yo vi un poco del de inglés, y si estaban muy completos los cursos.
I found rosetta stone to be the best way (for me). I am not really a humanities person, I prefer match/science etc and was shit and english/history. I found that the normal way they teach a language was like a humanities subject which meant I was terrible at it.
Rosetta stone turns learning a language into a logic puzzle which was really good for me. I learned more in 6 months of rosetta stone than I did from 3 years of lessons at school. I have tried other programs like dualingo, or listening tapes too without success. The only problem is that it's super expensive.
If you want to get an idea what it's like, go to their website and do the free demo. but pick a language you know nothing about. Don't pick a language you have already been trying to learn because you will already know too much for the demo. Seriously, the demo only works as an example you pick something you know absolutely nothing about.
German and English are pretty similar languages. They're both from the same family (Germanic languages) and have a lot in common. In fact, German is considered one of the easiest languages to pick up for English speakers and I assume the same the other way around.
On the other hand, French is a Roman language like Italian, Spanish and such. And Italian and Spanish are way easier to pick up for French people (I never studied it and I can mostly understand a lot of a text in those languages)
Then, I guess the teaching of it in school is just better in Germany. I know that my level in English (kind of fluent) does not come from what I learned in school.
The question was is it allowed.
No. It is not. If you don’t have the rights to the content.
Do people do it?
Yes. Yes they do.
Here are all their agreements.
The licence agreements among others have the detail around this:
>or have any other gifts.
Think twice. Do you want to be called schizophrenic? Do you want people telling you that you're having mental problems?
How to speak in tongues:
Dutch is the closest language to English, so I don’t think it’s that questionable. It’s also probably the biggest reason why Dutch people (and Scandinavians) speak English so well.
https://www.rosettastone.com/languages/closest-language-to-english/
I have to ask because of the formatting, but is this a bot post?
As for free and good, no that's a unicorn sadly
Keep creating trial accounts for Rosetta Stone, it's decent and you can abuse the trial system with throwaway emails last I looked since they don't ask you for billing info immediately.
I didn't mock you for using Wikipedia, man you really are high..
"Germanic languages - Wikipedia" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germanic_languages
"English Is A Germanic Language | Rosetta Stone®" https://www.rosettastone.com/languages/is-english-a-germanic-language/
Prove me wrong. Except here's the difference, you're falling for actual chinese propaganda despite irrefutable accounts of wrongdoings so pervasive, you'd have to be willfully ignorant of the situation. Look, there's a lot of surface level stuff with the Uyghur camps and Hong Kong, but look at how Han Chinese, an ethnic minority, literally dominated China throughout their history to seize and control power over China. They're doing the same thing now but through the use of their economic strongholds. Look at the projects in Africa. Look at the Bailouts of Portugal WHO WILL NO LONGER VOTE AGAINST CHINESE INTERESTS. If you don't see a trend here, I'll help you get started: https://www.rosettastone.com/languages/learn-chinese/
I saw a blurb one day that noted Duolingo teaches you a language more quickly, but Rosetta Stone teaches you the language more deeply.
I would have to agree. I played around with Duolingo off & on for a few years & liked it, but I find Rosetta Stone far more immersive & rounded. But, then again: I only used the free Duolingo, & I purchased the RS & jumped in right away.
I think if you want to explore & do a deep dive with Portuguese & other languages (eventually) the RS is the way to go — especially if you have the time. If you want to learn it quickly & efficiently & on a general level, I think Duolingo would be the way to go. I know Duolingo has a Plus version but I’m not sure how full of an experience it is.
If you want to try 3 months worth of a language with RS I think they’re running a special for $36. If you want to try a year of the Unlimited Languages it’s like $100, & the Unlimited Lifetime deal is $179 right now. I got it for $140-$150 earlier this year. I don’t know if it’ll be that price again, but I figure it’ll be good for years & years & years & years, so it was worth it. (I’m glad I saved my gift cards!) I think at the rate I got it it works out to about $7 per language if I learn every language! That’s pretty cool. Lol.
ETA: they also have a 10% off student discount you might be able to use if you’re a student — I’m not sure, though.
You may find that you'll have trouble getting an international language course approved by the VA. They would generally require that the course provide a "professional degree" that would be useful in a future career. Not saying it's impossible, I just know it usually has to be a legitimate degree program.
Computer Science would be easily approved, but a language course could be difficult at a foreign university.
Have you thought about studying German now? I know Rosetta Stone offers a pretty good discount to AD and vets.
No prob. Rosetta Stone is free at the moment too (https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/ just make up a school name) however I personally don't find their methods effective at all, I find direct study to be more helpful (I used it for Japanese though idk how the Irish is).
I think Rosetta Stone are currently offering 3 months of free tuition online, I've also recentley started learning Italian, and would suggest varying the methods used to learn as much as you can! i.e. listening, reading writing etc. Anyway here's a link to rosetta stone: https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/
Saw your comment on another thread regarding online courses to learn for languages. You can take a look at Rosetta Stone, they currently have a 3 month free trial due to the Corona crisis.
https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/
After the free trial is over you can find another course if you don't like it but this will work in the meanwhile.
I'm good with Cantonese but I'm utilizing it to learn Mandarin.
Right now Rosetta Stone are offering a three-month free trial for "students" and you can learn Tagalog as a part of it! Hindi ako Pilipino pero it's been fun to learn when I can pull myself away from my Switch for a few minutes! https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/
Three months free for students. Same for Babbel. As far as I can tell it’s all honor system.
Rosetta Stone definitely goes more in depth than Duolingo, so I really like it and is challenging for my daughter. Hopefully she'll take advantage of the free 3 months we got. Here is the link just in case: https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/
Rosetta Stone is offering 3 free months of any course for high school students since schools are closed for Corona! https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/ You don't need to be a hs student, it just asks you to enter any hs name. I've been using their korean course to review stuff over break and it's pretty good!
Here: https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/
Its for students but you dont need any student verification. Might help cause youre a beginner!
The main app I use is Hello Talk, it's free and you could find Filipinos that will teach you to speak in exchange you help them become fluent. However, maybe your boyfriend wouldn't be to happy with you talking to random people. There's a group chat that I'm in and I can invite you if you want.
Rosetta Stone is offering 3 free months. It's honestly not the best app but you're saving money and it'll help you learn the basics.
Those are the two apps I use but there's a lot of videos on YouTube.
Use this opportunity to learn French for free: https://www.rosettastone.com/freeforstudents/.
If you are immersed in the language you won't find it as annoying because the situation has purpose.
Rosetta Stone is offering free access for 3 months to students. Learning a language would certainly keep the children occupied, at any age. Also, the ability to speak different languages is a commodity and will benefit them now and in the long run. I would jump on it quickly and hope this helps!
I can not determine if you posted a affiliate link or not, so your post has been removed. You may resubmit it using the link: https://www.rosettastone.com/groups/landing-pages/sbsr/sbsr/emfebpauseunlimitedlifetime189

Je mehr Lernquellen du kombinierst, desto besser
Take an online foreign language course geared for homeschoolers. That is what we have done. Try the link I have provided below.https://www.rosettastone.com/homeschool/
If you want to focus on practicing standard Mandarin, then Beijing is a better place. It is possible that in a regional location where dialect is common, your speech will take on some of those sounds and mannerisms. Amongst each other, they WILL speak whatever their local language is, which you may or may not be able to follow. This may not be a dealbreaker though. Beijing is cold in the winter and is more expensive if you like to party and be entertained. But it also has more options for doing so and a larger student population. One thing: while Beijing University (Beida) is one of China's most prestigious, I actually have not heard great things about their Mandarin program for foreigners--I hear much better things about Renmin University or Beijing Normal University's programs, assuming you are a serious learner. Some internet research might bring up some comparisons I've seen done on the various Beijing university-based resident language programs.
Could you point out where I said "You Americans" please? Oh that's right I didn't, I said "Americans"
Sounds like you're the one who needs to learn proper English.
What an absolute shit eating retard. Maybe this will help you https://www.rosettastone.com/learn-english/
Hahahaha eu me pus numa situação extremamente similar um tempo atrás.
There are resources that will help you learn French, but it's impossible to learn it completely online to the link you described. If you really need or want to learn French, you absolutely must (in decreasing order of preference) move to a French-speaking country, make several French-speaking friends, or take some classes.
Something related to tourism in Harrogate might be an option.
They push for tourists from Europe, so your french language could be handy.
I guess London may be the better option, although Manchester is also fine.
I have never been able to learn to really speak Spanish. Given the number of people in the US from Mexico and the number of English speaking tourists in Mexico. I naively assumed more people would speak English...................not the case. Still I have managed. There are a few situations which were a bit difficult probably the most difficult was signing up for utilities,,,,ie telephone service. I soon switched to Vonage so that particular problem went away; dealing with CFE over outrageous electric bills until I learned that the first 12 months I would be paying based on the usage of the prior tenant.
Most people we came across spoke at least basic English. However I still think it's important to at least attempt basic phrases in Italian. Apart from it being good manners, it is part of the experience and one of my favourite memories is a friendly waiter at campo dei Fiori making fun of our horrendous attempts to pronounce some of the Italian words. No matter how much he tried I couldn't hear the difference in how he pronounced dieci and how we pronounced it. We all had some fun with it and it encouraged the kids to try to talk to him in Italian. Have fun with it.
If you’re serious about learning how to speak in French, finding a language learning program that lets you move through lessons at your own pace, practice vocabulary on the go, and get feedback on your pronunciation is the key to success.
German phrases almost always sound the way they are spelled
Guten Tag. / Good morning.
Hallo. (most often used as a telephone greeting, not in face-to-face greetings) / Hello.
Ich heiße … / My name is …
Sprechen Sie Englisch? / Do you speak English?
Wie heißt du? / What's your name?
Wie geht es dir? / How are you?
Gut, danke. / Fine, thank you.
Nett, Sie kennen zu lernen. / Nice to meet you.
Tisch für zwei bitte. / Table for two, please.
Wo ist die Toilette? / Where is the bathroom?

Some say English is really difficult to learn and others, not as much. Truly, any language can be viewed as either easy or hard to grasp, depending on your mother tongue. French words is certainly beautiful in our opinion, and a pleasure to learn.
Just like how you speak English slightly differently in the United States versus how you speak English in UK, location impacts the Spanish language as well. With that being said, it's possible that if you visit Mexico but learned Castilian Spanish vs. Mexican Spanish, there may be certain words or things that don't translate the same as they would if you were to visit Spain and converse with native speakers there.
Try this buddy, it might help with your poor English abilities. Also I said you’re afraid to say that to anyone in public. And your opinion is the dumbest of all.
