Its an old Men of War: Assault Squad 2 mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/men-of-war-planetside/images/community-screenshots41#imagebox
The industry as a whole values Metacritic scores so highly that they're written into development contracts. While unlikely, and while it's usually the critic's metacritic score that matters, it's not unimaginable that a higher user Metacritic score would have a positive impact on the game's budget.

Looks like SOE enabled the game updating through steam (noupdatesafterinstall was removed, allowing Steam to autoupdate the game files and skip the launcher).
Because they have an older version of the game on Steam, Steam automatically downloaded the version it had. The launcher then checked, saw you were outdated, and then redownloaded the game.
They appear to have fixed this already by readding noupdatesafterinstall. The long term fix is to keep the steam depot up to date, but SOE seems to struggle with that.
Did a quick and dirty mockup as I had a similar idea; make the mags smaller and push them back and in a bit, extend the barrels out a tad:
~~I'd have a viewer render, but imgur is exploding for me right now.~~
This is very rough, basically just a draft on basic shapes, but it keeps the dual-drum mag silhouette while making the weapon look less clunky and unbalanced. By moving the drums back and in, and extending the barrels a tad, it also gives the barrels more believable length and allows space for the various other parts of a functional weapon, as the previous model had incredibly short barrels and overall a very cramped design.
If you take one of those keys and activate it then go to here for client. It can be downloaded already :D
Edit: Confirmed, allows to download client right away. Can provide screenies if need be :D
Edit 2: How this is even possible? I got launcher and it allowed me to log in for actual game client. As far I understand this system is meant to block you from downloading if yours account isn't flagged for beta access at this moment. Or am I wrong here? Well I download this baby and let see what happens.
To everyone who doesn't live in NA, i'd recommend using proxyswitchy, then a proxy server, I used 138.207.8.77:8080 to get a key. Perhaps register beforehand so you don't have to deal with the slowness of the proxy, then clear your cookies, then login via the proxy.
See you in game!
Edit: download link here!
Outside of game development, you would be correct. Game Programmers work for waaaay less than others of similar talent in other programming fields.
It's actually kind of disgusting how much less Game Programmers get paid compared to a web developer at the same experience level. That's a conversation for another time though.
EDIT: Take a look at Stack Overflow's Salary Survey. It's kind of insane... the closest you'll get is "Desktop Development" to the skills that a Game Programmer needs. That's over 800 $10 hats a month to pay that salary!
Sorry for no recent posts, I am trying to get used to university life and work schedule, which brings me to a quick announcement:
I can no longer post NSC on a weekly basis. I will try my hardest to still do it but due to the amount of course work given by my uni course I can no longer guarentee being able to post every week. I'm am very sorry and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Special thanks to SteakHQ for the base idea for the comic
Looks like there's a DNS issue. Stick this in your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file to get on:

Sorry for the very late post, I had a couple of friends from my outfit come visit the country and I had to give them the tour so I've been pretty busy until recently.
> that's either a colossal fuckup or I mean I can't even understand how that mistake is made unless it was intentional, but then again the history of messed up patches and bugs in this game who knows what is possible to screw up
A patch/expansion for EVE Online once deleted the boot.ini files of a few dozen ~~Linux~~ Windows users operating systems and almost completely destroyed their computers so I mean nothing really surprises me at this point.

Short answers though,
http://www.gamefront.com/mechwarrior-online-forum-ragesplosion/
Pay money to circumvent skill. Eventually undermines the entire metagame of what is skillful and creates a gulf between whales and members greater than members vs froobs. Let alone the disruption of whales vs free players power difference.
In a nutshell, it's pure pay to win. The only balancing factor is the amount of "winning" you can buy. I was happy with 0. Completely negating entire features (concussion immunity, sensor immunity, stealth immunity, etc) is definitely non-trivial.
We are looking at getting a very bad system shoved down our throats.
I was making one got told they were not futuristic enough, or to make something that isnt a beret but reminds you of one .. how do i even do that ? A beret is a beret. He might not answer the way you might want him to, but if you read the feedback/suggestions he gives on peoples current creations in the player studio forums he is pretty good at.
New content is planned for next month. http://www.planetside2.com/roadmap
As far as "abandoning loyal fans" I think they are doing the opposite. The optimization and balance changes were definitely needed. Sure it was also to help with PS4 development but before the optimization everyone was complaining about the framerate. It was needed and I'm glad SOE decided to focus on optimization and didn't let it continue the way it was.
你好兄弟, no blame hacker outfit from china

Just jump to <strong>4:10:20</strong> guys. You are welcome.
EDIT: I have to say Higby is absolutely killing it at properly promoting the game. If I watched that I would definitely download the game right away.
Way back when while they were releasing the lore for ps2 through journals and communications, I know that at least the NC built and lived in underground cities. That might be the case for everyone else too.
Edit: "Genny talked over her brother as if he hadn’t said a word. '…while the N.C. went off and built their damn underground cities and let the rest of us rot.'"
Yes... CURRENTLY http://www.planetside2.com/Home is down...
But http://www.planetside2.com/ ISN'T.
Edit - But then again I'm a noob and maybe the /home page has some importance other than being the same as the default splash page... CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG
A few months ago, I got really bored in work and decided to make a Liberator guide (on company time - shhh! don't tell the boss!)
I started by making an Excel spreadsheet of all the cert costs for the Liberator and wound up writing quite a lot about how I use the Liberator, why I cert mine the way I do, and how I feel the vehicle should or can be used.
My motivation for putting all this down is that there aren't any good Lib guides online. I checked beforehand, because I didn't want to cover old ground, but very few guides out there give you a detailed breakdown of cert cost, general utility of features and the like, so that's something I've endeavoured to accomplish with this guide. Even if I don't use something, I've explained why I don't and the situations or playstyles that particular addition suits, rather than a simple yet uninformative, "I don't use this."
Yes, there's a lot of information in there, and I wish it wasn't just a wall of text, but I don't really have the time or energy right now to chop it all up and put it in video or audio form. I'd really love to hear some feedback from you guys - pilots or not - if you have the time to spare.
Finally, the format I've chosen is google docs, because: a) I did half of the work in my office and those programs were what I had b) that way I can add stuff, edit things out etc. very easily if the game is changed in any way
So please, take a look and let me know what you think of the whole package. In addition to the guide itself, I have included the aforementioned Spreadsheet and just one example of a 'Budget' or 'Starter' Lib loadout which costs under 1500 certs.

I have just released the a new version of the Auraxis Control Center for Android, this new version has push notifications for server alerts. Now you can know exactly whenan alert is occuring and prepare your forces :)
As always the link is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cesarandres.ps2link
And the source code can be found here: https://github.com/cesarramirez/auraxiscontrolcenter
I think the role of the executive creative director is to keep a sanity check on the broadstrokes, ask some thought provoking questions, and keep an eye on the creative processes? It would be hard to follow so many games closely enough to have in-depth understanding of issues, especially while being creative director on DCUO.
After it was mentioned he was lead on Star Wars Battlefront 1/2, searching on google showed that he also worked on Battlezone (a sci-fi combined arms/FPS/RTS). There's experience in sci-fi, combined arms, squad based FPS, and even RTS on his CV!. We needn't worry he'd never 'get' PS2, which is probably the first concern that comes to mind when most MMOs are fantasy RPGs with very trivial questing.
An AMA would be nice once he gets settled. Being somewhat responsible for PS2, he no longer has the luxury of just playing on PS4, as he should really sample all the gameplay moments PS2 has to offer - which means playing with squads playing objectives instead of farming because stats are broken, and non-PS4-newbie squads at that. I'd probably recommend inviting him to play in a few server smashes.
I'm finally back from my holiday but I am heading off to University next weekend so I'm not entirely sure if there will be a comic next week or not but I will try my best to get one done. But after that the comic will return to it's weekly postings. Thank you all for being so patient.
It probably means their site is getting hammered by legions of bloodthirsty, crazed Planetside fans who inexplicably go to http://www.planetside2.com/download in spite of nothing linking there in the first place.
Oops. Our bad!
Wanna see a lot user score?
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/simcity
The thing is, people only give 10 or 0 pretty much. Most good reviews seem to be written by people who at least have a basic grasp of english, checking through the bad ones many are "my 5 year old PC cant play this, 0/10!" or "WHAT I ONCE HAD A BUG WHERE MY UI BROKE 0/10"!.
I had the same memory leak symptoms [system crash after 2 hrs] and used process explorer to find which files were being accessed and not released back into free memory. Turns out it was an audio driver conflict with an external mixing unit I had plugged into the comp via usb. Removing the driver and unplugging the unit before starting Planetside resolved my problem.
> any question about anything to do with Planetside
To answer your question anyway, chopped or shredded carrots do go nicely with lasagna. If you chop, you may want to consider pre-cooking the carrots to make sure they are soft in the lasagna and don't end up as overly hard crunchy bits. Since you're chopping them (or shredding) it shouldn't matter whether you use baby or full-size carrots.
Well sir, I believe you just broke maybe, 4 subreddits with those dot points.
^^^Also ^^^secret ^^^high-five.
Create a scheduled task to do this automatically.

The command you want to use is

EDIT: Back up your pictures folder and test the command so you don't delete anything important.
Also, yay Vanu Tech Support! Without us, there wouldn't be any NC to play against.
Actually, if you keep reading, you find out that Commander Waterson, the man in charge of the TR military, planned the killing of Commander Connery.
“It’d be an awful shame your Jenny is at the wrong place at the wrong time. I can’t exactly promise that the local authorities could continue to keep your family safe, what with being spread so thin lately. I’ve spoken to far more than just you about this matter, Adam, and the final step before I can begin to put this plan into action is your cooperation. Everything else is already in place, and all we need now is another beloved figurehead. When the time comes, of course.”
Miller stood facing the door and turned around to the grinning Lieutenant Commander, knowing his hands were tied. “Another? You’re sickening, Brent. How do you call yourself T.R.?”
“Because no one will ever find out, Adam. Who would question us if we pinned it on some of Mattherson’s starving N.C. cronies? We’re calling the shots here, remember? I trust that you’ll comply, given the terms of our agreement, correct?” Waterson said, grinning at his victory.
Admitting you're choosing the slippery slope is the same as throwing the reputation of this game right out the window, which in the end will not only hurt this game even more but the whole f2p games industry as a whole.
This game has a reputation to hold up to, IGN recently rated it within the top 5 games that are truly f2p. Still every single article about this game has always a big discussion in the comments about it being p2w. The IGN article being no exception. Allowing players to buy straight upgrades/power with cash is the same as throwing the towel in that discussion.
We recently gave you tons of ideas to drive more revenue out of this game without making it p2w. Some of these ideas are really good and are actually considered by you to be implemented in H1Z1. So I suggest you do a better job of exploring them before you're giving Planetside 2 a bad reputation by the time it releases on PS4.
Yeah, but that was back when the content releases actually had some substance to them. And there actually used to be stuff on the roadmap.
In fact, it seems a pretty big co-incidence that now as we're officially in the tumbleweed section of the roadmap that development on new content is coming to a halt for an indeterminant amount of time.
Heres a start to my prowler project, what do you guys think ?
UPDATE : http://i.imgur.com/KEeHxWS.png This is so it works with the deploy animation.
Im going to look into the composite armor panels and see if i can find a way i can make mine work with them, they may have to sit on the top of them.
UPDATE 2 - 3d
I can't believe they expect me to wait 17 whole minutes to patch the game dude. So unfair. =O

Looks like there is plenty of interest of products.
Some great designs have already been submitted over here
I'll compile a list of product ideas tomorrow, and we can vote on those.
From there, we'll start getting designs for said products and then vote on those.
Goal is to have all of that done in two weeks, which gives me time to get details settled with our vendors.
The end goal is by end of the month, you all can pre-order these products during a 4 week window, after which products are made and shipped. T-shirts would be delivered within 7-14 days of ending the campaign. Other products may take longer, which all depends on the vendor's capability.
You're going to have to compile all of these thoughts into a dossier one day, a follow up to your <em>The PlanetSide Manifesto Reloaded</em> (people reading this should check it out if they haven't) as it were.
Forehead is bare for now. I want to see if there's support for decals on cosmetic hats. I really hope there is, so the forehead can have a decal!
You can view this hat in 3D, with a body, or compared with the Commissar here. Yes, I am designing this hat to be a less ridiculous commander-esque hat than the Commissar.
Upload to here next time. It doesn't have a limit and it doesn't compress and it uses htlm5 which means you can pause/rewind/fastforward the gif and it is supported by RES.
The only downside is that hoverzoom doesn't support it yet. But if you are like me and just click the 'View Images' button at the top with RES then that doesn't really matter.
a quick search round the internet for ways to pipe music through a microphone will probably sort you out.
Also this reddit thread about the new microphone input options in the game sound menu.
> That would be imbalanced because you could still "attack" and avoid the enemy main army/armies.
True. But why is that a bad thing? Let's check what the master said.
> If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then even the deepest spy cannot discern it nor the wise make plans against it.
> He who knows when he can fight and when he cannot will be victorious.
> Speed is the essence of war. Take advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness; travel by unexpected routes and strike him where he has taken no precautions.
If you're outnumbered 2:1 or 3:1, pulling back and striking at enemy weak points forces them to spread out thinner to repel you, and gets you closer to the "fair" fight that you want. The additional XP is to encourage players to come and join you, which will happen until you resume a 1:1 ratio and then can have the fair fight without "probing" attacks that you seem to dislike.
I was all for taking out Acquisition Timers but the new Resource System just sucks.
Why have 1 resource 'Nanites' vs having 3 resources?
It removes strategy, resource management, and diversity. It forces a player to choose 1 playstyle. No longer can you get a tank, get blown up by liberator, then pull an esf to shoot down said liberator.
^ And that is the opposite of what they said they wanted from the game. Link.
How am I supposed to fulfill different combat roles if MAXs cost 500, Tanks 450, ESFs 350, a full load of grenades like 200; when I can only carry 750? Old resource system was better.
At the very least they should let me stockpile a little of my infantry useables.
I know i will be streaming this event. More then likely i will be messing with the construction system, but if the LMG does get put to test i will spend most my time as a max.
As for others you could just check out who is streaming on twitch at the time of the event.
EDIT :: Yep HMG are on PTS. which just updated, maybe?
I agree, this is a feature I'd like to see added soon. Yes, they have been intending on adding in that ability since beta, that is why the center of the warpgate has that structure, but their prerequisite for that was Hossin. Now that we have it, hopefully we will see in the coming months.
It's unscheduled on the Roadmap.
Well, you want to go to this subreddit for info about the Reddit team. Just check out the FAQ on the sidebar.
As for the characters, well, everyone starts out the same, sans the empire differences (Reddit is playing Vanu, btw). You use certificication points you get for playing to specialize by buying weapons and upgrades for your vehicles and classes, which you can swap freely. You get 1 cert for every 250XP, which you gain by generally playing the game.
As for some general tips, well:
Make sure to watch the official tutorial videos. They are really helpful.
Use Q to spot enemies. It shows their names on the HUD and gives a triangle above them, so your teammates can shoot them easier.
Join an outfit. You can solo thing game, but it is so much more fun if you find an outfit.
If you can't decide what to cert into first, get an S-AMS cert point for the Sunderer. That is a 12 man land transport, and with that upgrade, you can press b to anchor it in and make it a remote spawn point.
SCU is the spawn control generator. I don't know why don't people know this, but it's a common question.
If you have more questions, ask away.
I know that most people are linking non-original stuff. So, I decided to throw this together based on some original images I saw..
The image I used for the player was this. As for giving credit to anyone else, I honestly do not remember where I saw the "Lasers and stuff" and I THINK the style I based it on was actually a NC poster though I could be wrong.
Edit: This was all done in via vectors, and I could clean it up, and re-size it for anyone that is interested. I just wanted to get it done semi-quick.
If you want more information use pathping instead of tracert. That also gives you an idea in regards to packet loss (use WinMTR if you want a GUI).
Should you be interested in monitoring over a longer time period you can use PingPlotter. Gives a nice graph of how your ping/packet loss develops over time.
Charge of the Light Brigade is, to be honest, the wrong reference entirely. You see, that light brigade actually gets wrecked by the Russians during their charge. Here, they're more or less unscathed.
I mean:
Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell
Tells the story doesn't it? I don't see death of hell there for the so-called Light Brigade! Hell, even the poem tells you what happens given such a foolish attack:
Stormd' at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell, They that had fought so well Came back thro' the jaws of Death Back from the mouth of Hell, All that was left of them, Left of the six hundred
Not good enough? What say we ask the opinion of a man who was actually there. Observing the charge, Pierre Bosquet said:
>It is magnificent, but it is not war; it is madness.
So, I'm looking here, and I ain't seeing diddly squat.
It's a neat promotion SOE, but if nobody can actually buy the damn things it's kinda pointless, isn't it? I don't really feel like going hunting from store to store in hopes that the website inventory isn't accurate.
To win on a technicality, they have until 11:59PM PST on May 16th to release said game mode.
You can watch the progress here:
Thank you, -t
I doubt anyone who actually knows the number is authorized to disclose it. You can run some quick estimates though, with team size being the biggest factor (anyone know the team size during beta?). Keep in mind they developed a new engine for PS2, which was also used for H1Z1, so the cost of that should in theory be amortized across both (or more) games.
50 people x $150k per person (including bonuses, taxes, etc) x 3 years is already $22 million USD. Factor in server costs, support personnel, marketing, any licensed assets (art, voice acting, music), and you're probably looking at something in the neighborhood of $30-50 million.
You could also look at other publicly-disclosed / guessed numbers from online articles for a comparison.
It doesn't.

Most hacks don't work by interacting directly with the game. That is very easy to detect. Instead they generally use an Aero Overlay.
https://obsproject.com/ Using OBS, Xsplit or almost any "Streamer" software you could hide a hack.
Streamers for other games have gotten busted for it when their configs broke and their normally hidden hacks got streamed for all the world to see.
It is completely inconclusive. And in the end it doesn't matter because everyone already made up their mind.
I tried to make a countdown .. can someone verify this would be the correct information (I hate timezones):
If you are from Europe and downloaded the client through steam, what you want to do is go to:
and sign up for an account with your country as the United States
after you have created your account go to:
and press log in.
After that you should be able to log in using the info you used for soe.com
do NOT: modify your files. this only works if you have a unmodified client from steam.
No idea when they will be sending out eMails but Smed tweeted that the system will go live at Monday November 5th at 7am Pacific (a little less than two hours from now): https://twitter.com/j_smedley/status/263708799783813120
Since they mistakenly had it activated last week we know that it is a simple form at http://www.planetside2.com/reserve-name and you can only reserve one name. (All the reservations from that incident have been wiped btw.)
I had to go to http://www.planetside2.com/download click that, then log in. It said I had already signed up but that I can fill out a questionnaire, so I clicked that link (after changing IE to EN-US) and it worked.
If you have $200, grab a Pentium G3258, any Z97 board from ASUS or Gigabyte, and a CPU cooler. Prepare to overclock, because you're going to kick that CPU up to 4GHz. This should result in i5-like performance in Planetside, and performance equal to your current level in many other games. Wait for your next paycheck, then get a R9 285 (or you can stay with your old GPU, if you can get it replaced). You will have a great great gaming PC that can do all kinds of awesome things.
Until your new components arrive, take a break from Planetside 2. Do something else, maybe play another free game, like Warframe which is a cool 3rd-person futuristic shooter that will run pretty well (medium settings at 1080P) on your current setup.
I use http://customdesktoplogo.wikidot.com/download for my crosshair. Will this be blocked? Could it be added to the list if it is? It's just a custom logo projected on the screen, I just made it a red dot.
Can someone explain to me how @1:41 of Harvester's video, he knows that /u/Wrel is coming up to him?
https://www.twitch.tv/harvester_373/v/44849528
I watched the video like 10 times and he never sees Wrel. Yet, he stares at the wall that Wrel is behind and knows he's there. I don't see any spotting as well.
Someone care to explain?
Try a VPN. I'm currently in Beijing using ExpressVPN and it seems to be working quite alright. Haven't tried to play with it though.
Only get monthly subscriptions as vpns are occasionally blocked and you'll have to switch.
General internet speed somewhere as remote as Wuhan might also be an issue.
EDIT: It's also a good VPN for technologically challenged people like you and me. Just dl the program/app, connect to a server (usually Hong Kong works best) and you're good to go.
Had the exact same problems on the test server. I could run around for more than five minutes without it crashing to desktop, no error messages or anything.
Even worse, now we have that and stuttering framerates.
This might be worth pointing out if you're gonna use it just for recording. These settings really improved my recording quality a lot.
People don't just willy-nilly gain access to your account. You might have malware on your computer, or is one of your passwords somewhere compromised, for example due to a data breach? haveibeenpwnedyourself for your benefit.
The PS2 cheat detection system is known to detect certain types of non-cheat software as cheating. For example certain developer tools, if they are open at the same time as the client that is.
The last option is that you actually did cheat. These kinds of mistakes don't really happen out of nowhere, and if they do, it's very rarely at that.
I specifically said: why deny us PARTICIPATION. Forget prizes, at least let us participate. Even then, pretty sure they could organize some DBC prizes without legal issues.
Also, "oppertunity"?
Ok, so you're getting a lot of crap from people because you obviously don't know much about computers. No big deal! There are things you can do to improve performance.
Here is a good place to start: Tweak Guide
Second, maybe you could list the specs of your computer and we can get a better understanding of what may be causing the problems.
Lastly, since you aren't super computer savvy, I recommend a program called Razer Game Booster. This program will help by shutting down a lot of the unnecessary applications that may be running in the background while you play. Doing this could lead to better performance.
I'm not a computer genius, but if you can give me some more details on your system (processor, ram, graphics card, hard drive), then maybe I can offer you some more help.
Good luck!
The paid versions are more simplified, but there is a tool called ImDisk that does pretty much the same job.
There are some imdisk tutorials but they all seem outdated so here's a quick rundown:
Be sure to have enough memory installed (24gb or more) otherwise your pc will kill you.
After installing it, go to your control panel, open it.
Create a new mount at Size of virtual disk fill set it to Gigabytes and the size (16).
At Device type set it to Harddisk volume.
At the right side click "Create virtual disk in virtual memory"
Then hit OK
http://i.imgur.com/P9cwOIp.jpg
Windows should prompt you now to format it, do that.
If that doesn't work, ImDisk has a format button.
Then the disk is available to install things on like a normal harddrive.
Once you're done installing planetside (again, the standalone is preferred vs steam) AND made sure your in-game settings are saved, Save the image and name it appropriately. Use the standard setting.
Every time you reboot the disk will be loaded out of memory as it's ran in windows so you have to load your image:
So when you want to play planetside, you start ImDisk, click the ...-button and click the file.
Set Create virtual disk in physical memory and hit OK, it'll take a bit longer to load than before as it's actually checking the files but once loaded, you're ready to go again.
A hassle? Maybe, but once set up it's almost as long as launching razer gamebooster.
Heres the actual roadmap and in case anyone missed it, heres an update on how the devs are going to handle the roadmap this year.
> 1. From now on, most features on Roadmap will be kept under unscheduled until we're more certain of a solid release date for them. What that means is when you see something move to "March" you will be able to reasonably expect that feature is ready to be released in March. That isn't a guarantee of course, things will still shift from time to time, but since things will be in Unscheduled until we are very confident that we can hit the dates, this will be a lot more accurate.
> 2. Roadmap entries will now have a field for "Status" so you can see what state it's in. We will have statuses for: Designed, In Progress, Internal Testing, On Public Test and Complete.
> Starting early in the new year we're planning on cleaning up many of the Roadmap threads and consolidating based on some revised designs for many of the features which had been up there previously. Some entries are already up for the Amerish Revamp, new Missions & Directives systems, as well as the new Death Screen.
Disable shadows and flora, that may help. Also, find the UserOptions.ini in your game's folder and copy-paste its content to this site: https://hastebin.com/, save it, then link it to us, so we can see your config.
You might want to consider making a post on the Player Studio forums as well, though I don't know how much exposure it'll get over there since activity has been declining.
Some of my older helmet stuffs have little throwaway lore snippets attached which you can view on my p3d page; feel free to contact me in regards to any particular cosmetic either on reddit or through the forums.
Hi guys,
so as the eager bandwagoner that I am, i decided that as my next project should be some swish new ants*.
so here is the first NS one, the fornica :)
in 3d: http://p3d.in/4832U
Texture work is incomplete atm, modellings fairly well done, big orange screen will glow in the dark :)
Lore:
> After seeing the ANT's increased useage in combat zones and as a support vehicle it NS has created this prototype variation. > > Sacrificing some speed and cortium capacity this ant boasts external cortium pumps & storage, increased armour plating and a whole host of all-terain improvents such as foglights, a towhook and even some space for infantry to sit for transport.
> The overall vehicle is heavier, and more costly to produce but many ant pilots already wont leave the terminal without one, and it has seen service in the hossin swamps; where the increased vision; and utilities have been a life saver for many users
Hope you all like it, and as always all constructive critisim is appreciated.**

Design goal: make a more useful 4x scope for TR. Also make the scope itself minimalistic, so you can actually see around it (instead of blocking all of your vision like some other scopes).
In case you missed it in the picture description, here's the 3D link. No texture because it has a too high resolution for that site and looks like crap when downsized.
I think I will use the bottom left crosshairs for this one. Maybe later I'll make a re-modeled 7x or 8x sniper version with the bottom right crosshairs.
Opinions on the crosshairs are welcome! I also had some other ideas for them, but I think the top two were a bit much, and the bottom right doesn't work quite as well IMO.
PSA: There was a 25mb update which at least changed the recoil on the TR gun with the Single-Barrel Adapter and brought it in line with the others.
See here: https://sendvid.com/zj18s4qd
This also shows what a gimmick the automatic mode is. Yes, most likely you would empty your magazine slightly faster but you lose accuracy due to recoil.
Not sure why TR only gets 8 bullets per magazine? Is it because of the automatic mode then add more ammo when Single-Barrel is equipped. If it is because of the explosive rounds then overthink it and bring it in line with the others.
My final Libtage featuring my last Liberator auraxium. Decided to finish it by auraxing the spur, which was purchased after the CAI update.
I'M A SUPPORT VEHICLE NOW.
Sorry about the region lock, I don't have to to try and work around the copyright restrictions, as I cannot stay at home due to a water main break. Try using a Proxy or read how to on this site

I am the outfit leader of [AF] Armored FIST on Waterson. We're a smaller outfit that runs Ops events 4 nights a week (M/W/F/S) in addition to other activities like our newly developed air training classes. We emphasize team play over skill and keep the balance between having fun and being organized.
Our Ops platoon is always open during the nights listed above so feel free to pop in and say hello. You can also visit us online at www.armoredfist.net/ps2 for more info about our Core team.
There's plenty of other great outfits on Waterson as well. I recommend checking out Imperial Reach [IR], The Art of Warfare [TAW1?], and [ARC] (not sure the outfit name but the leader's name is "Gray" in-game). Hope you find somewhere that fits your playstyle!
>Military tactics are like unto water; for water in its natural course runs away from high places and hastens downwards.
>So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak.
>Water shapes its course according to the nature of the ground over which it flows; the soldier works out his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing.
>Therefore, just as water retains no constant shape, so in warfare there are no constant conditions.
I found these images of opaque icons when ADS from the bf4 sub. Was this changed? Optimization for OMFG? Or did it never apply to player names?
Personally I think a 'no icon zone' around the reticle should apply to spotted-enemy icons too.
I'll do you one better, here is the link to a screenshot of it: http://i41.tinypic.com/157g4mv.jpg

as you can see, $2.50 cents for the cycler, or 60,000 in game credits. I have no word on how long in game credits take to get, but i have a feeling its around 600 kills (in game footage I believe shows 100 points for a kill, cant remember) This does not take into account vehicle destroys, assists, etc, or what the price may be after release. Keep that in mind.
whats a IEEE floating point number?
at least numbers would tell you alot more than the bars. a good example would be how Blacklight Retribution does it. http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/blacklight-retribution/screenshots/gameShotId,567208/ sorry, best screen i could find, but the gun info is on the right side
But they still say it's supported on thier website. They even managed to mess up the Geforce Experience by making everyone log in. Now i'm hearing reports of them putting telemetry into Geforce driver downloads, check your task scheduler..... http://www.ghacks.net/2016/11/07/nvidia-telemetry-tracking/
Last time i buy an Nvidia card if they keep this up.
What's most likely holding you back is your CPU
In PS2, your CPU makes the biggest impact on performance, especially in large fights, and it looks like yours is a bit older and benchmarks fairly poorly. Note that many people getting good performance are using even newer generation CPU's than the ones shown on the last, and have them overclocked (eg. I have an 15-4690K @ 4.5GHz, GTX 770, , and 8G of ram, and I still get CPU-bound performance).
But, to be sure, hit alt-f and see what your screen shows next to your FPS. If it is saying [GPU] bound more often, then it may be your GPU.
If you want to record the entire play session and have a good internet connection, you could always stream on Twitch. Twitch has an option, which is off by default I believe, to temporarily save all footage that you broadcast to it. You can then take that footage and chop it up and save pieces of it, or save the whole thing. You can also post it directly to YouTube. Be warned, however, that if your ISP has a bandwidth cap then this will chew through it really, really quickly.
If you're interested, I recommend OBS.
No the correct english is 'a hotel'. It's purely based on the sound of the word. The words historic and hotel often used to be pronounced 'istoric and 'otel respectively so had 'an' before them but nowadays they are pronounced with the h so you use 'a'. The reason it sounds awkward is because it's wrong and precisely why the rule is in place. Source
Depends on what audio you're using but it's usually "Stereo Mix" and "What U Hear"
How to enable "Stereo Mix": http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/39532/how-to-enable-stereo-mix-in-windows-7-to-record-audio/
You can use AutoHotkey for this, the script would look like this:
^Insert:: /of course use whatever hotkey you want, see documentation for details/ Send {Enter}{End}+{Home}{Backspace}/squad promoteme{Enter} return
I have one for leaving the current squad:
^Insert:: Send {Enter}{End}+{Home}{Backspace}/squad leave{Enter} return
Sorry I'm a bit late to the thread, and boy oh boy the amount of useless advice here is ridiculous.
Alright, got that out of my system. Firstly - let me ask - how hot does your laptop get whilst playing? The CPU especially - I'd recommend using a tool like MSi Afterburner to check your CPU and GPU temps whilst playing. It'll give you some information in the top left of the screen when you have it open, which should tell you some important stuff like temperatures and clock speeds, as well as how much your CPU and GPU are getting used. The CPU util stat will be useless however, as PS2 only stresses 2 threads maximum, whilst putting a minor load on all the rest. The CPU utilisation stat averages the amount all 8 threads are getting used, which is not helpful when PS2 only uses 2.
Take a look at what's going on though that first, and we can try figure out the problem. If it is heat issues, then I have a hit-or-miss solution, but honestly I doubt it. It shouldn't really be causing issues in the Warpgate and small fights if it is.
One thing I can say however is that all the guys who are proclaiming your CPU isn't good enough because it runs at 2.8GHz are just plain wrong, because your CPU should be sitting at 3.4GHz if all is well with the system. And trust me when I say there is a huge performance gap between the two.
Experience != Resources. Resources are what you gain every 'tick' depending on what territories your faction owns. (Divided into Aerospace, Mechanized, Infantry you can see this on either your profile page or the map by hovering over a territory and seeing what it gives a bonus too).
The membership benefits are simple.
25% Bonus to Passive cert gain, these are the certs you gain while offline (providing you login once a day). 25% Bonus to Experience (Active cert gain). 25% Bonus to Resource gain.
This stacks with other things, for example my base % right now is 25%, I have a 50% boost and double XP atm so my net total is 75% or there abouts (upto 90% while defending).
I've taken all this from my head as I'm at work, I'm sure someone will correct me if I've got something wrong!
Here you go. Its the second section down labeled "Magrider". Its one of the reasons I love Vanu. Also, Test. Test everything. Test the Afterburners. FOR SCIENCE!
The safest way to check is if you log on to www.planetside2.com and check your SC balance if you've bought SC. Another way would be trying to log on to en.planetside2.eu and checking if you have an account with Pro7.
Better safe than sorry...
Just for info this part is wrong in OP or just depends how you look at it;
>If you cannot justify paying 60$ over the course of 4 months(which actually works out to 40$ because of the free 2,000 SC you get on top of that), maybe the MMO genre just isn't for you.
Sure you get 500 SC / month, BUT only if you keep subscription rolling automatically. This was heated discussion, here and official forums, little while ago because SOE has marketed falsely. In i.e. here it's worded as "500 Station Cash each month", but fails to mention that you need to keep automatic renewing on.
Like someone in official forums said about membership is that you pay 12.99 € / month for some bonus XP, not for more or less. 500 SC is just sugar coating on top if you keep ordering more these "XP boosters" without taking billing info out between.
Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Didn't you know that PC gamers are entitled little kids that except to get certain stuff etc. when game is released on PC etc.? No pleasing of those entitled brats...
People missing out on entitlement joke, but still you pay 13€ / month for 500SC. If not please provide me with facts.
We wouldn't need strict military discipline if we could live in peace, but we can't. Seems some wackos in blue suits keep shooting up the place. Don't worry though, we'll find a nice state run prison cell for you soon, free of charge.
(Here and Here are some good background stories on NC Corporate tyranny and cronyism.)
http://www.planetside2.com/news16 is a really good start. Just browse backwards through the News for more backstory articles. I don't think that ALL the lore is posted yet, but the articles posted there do the job nicely.
Before they changed it, the tail was the furthest thing downward of your aircraft. So when I was trying to look cool and get really close to things, I would catch it on something, and immediately crash. I'm guessing other people had the same problem and that's why it was changed.
> new cosmetics are little effort on SOE's part as they havent made anything themselves for a long time
The new F2P UT game is based entirely on this concept
