Yes! The Brook super converter has always worked for me. You just need to be sure to keep the firmware on it up to date or it will randomly disconnect. They're pretty good at keeping up with the PS4s updates.
4th thing to add ethernet cables are extremely cheap so yeah wire your shit up!!!
Written notes here as usual - https://tinyurl.com/dbfz-meter

This week's guide is on meter usage - some things have changed since the 1.15 patch dropped in February.

Meter is something the game is pretty gracious with, so this video is more focused on a couple of specific, but common situations (when to kill, meter penalty, and sparking).

Let me know if you have any questions/if there are any topics you'd like to see covered!
I saw this controller and was wondering about it too. So i'll be interested in the responses.
However, I did buy this for PC. The Hori Fighting Commander.
It took a little getting used to with the 6 front facing buttons.
However, the D-pad was vastly superior to what I was using (a regular XBox One controller).
In Addition, I found this review that stated the following.
>The Downside Easy On The D-Pad: One thing I noticed while playing fighting games with the Wolverine’s detachable directional pads. If you press too hard on the left side of the d-pad, the right side will lift off the pad. You have to press pretty hard for this to happen, but not so hard that I can’t take a picture of it happening one-handed.
Which kind of turned me away from it.
However, judge for yourself.
Steam says yes.
You get:

Update: Did not actually work. After restarting, I was still getting an index error. I then completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It still does not work. I get "EAC Index Not Found" when deleting the "Certificates" folder and the original error if the folder exists.
Edit: Because the file is wininet.dll, I wonder if NordVPN might be causing the issue. I am unwilling to uninstall this program, though. This is incredibly frustrating. I guess I might just look for a cracked version of the game instead. (Which I hate doing when I pay money for a product, but I guess I will know not to purchase from this company again since they use a product that appears to be incompatible with my system.)
Ye, most people use a Brook Universal Board which works with all platforms (except Nintendo). Only tools you'll need are a screwdriver, allen keys and any decent wire stripper.
You'd pay about the same for a prebuilt one for all the parts so it's up to you.
I mean they're basically all the same. Measure the distance from your router to your computer and bjy one long enough. All the "ultra high speed" and stuff that claims to be faster are either buzzwords or give a basically negligible benefit.
Try this. Basic 50 ft. cable. Nothing special, but it's cheap and it gets the job done well.
This man is a legend and has a pretty good explanation of game mechanics. Rafestation on Reddit and Turtleon on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdf9noDnk-xboluSDTBzeLQ \
It will explain why certain moves beat others and etc. Ignore his oldest vid - but the series is great.
Rooflmonger has a decent series too but his content quality has dropped heavily lately.
Hop on the Discord and find a coach or pick up some matches for some good detailed instructions for any characters you like.
I'm pretty sure you can give binds to both P1 and P2 on a keyboard, right?
If that is indeed the case, JoyToKey will solve your problems. It lets you bind controller inputs to specific keypresses, so you'd just take your regular layout and then put all of your friend's buttons on like the keypad or something.
Barring that, controller problems on PC can generally be fixed by going into Steam Big Picture mode, opening up the settings, and going into controller settings from there. Try toggling Xbox or PS4 controller support for whichever flavor your friend is using.
How old is this laptop? I also have an Intel HD 3000, but I have a secondary dedicated Nvidia GPU. Right click your desktop and see if you have an Nvidia control panel (or maybe AMD), if you have it then you have a 2nd GPU. If you're not sure just download this https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ , run it and see if you can select another GPU on the drop down list below.
Something like this. Whole idea is have a hardwired connection from your game to the router will give you a stronger, consistent connection
Complete noob here when it comes to arcade stick. Got DBFZ a while back but play it with game pad. I used to play Super Street Fighter 2 and Street Fighter Alpha back in the 90s with the arcade sticks for Genesis/PS1. When it comes to Arcade sticks, what should I look for? I saw this on Amazon getting good reviews for beginners seems like it can be customized as well.
I play on the D-Pad and it works just fine... but then I learned to play fighting games on pad. Here's a great tip: wrap your thumb with a handkerchief, or a thin glove, or even the bottom of your t-shirt. It helps the thumb slide around easy and also prevents blisters.
A friend of mine uses thumb-sleeves to to the same thing:

However IMHO these are not necessary (though they do work). I personally just use a thin glove.
Apologies if you've tried this already, but have you looked into using an Ethernet-to-USB adapter such as this one?
Most tournaments allow the use of a brook converter Gam3Gear Brook Xbox One Controller to PS4 Console Super Converter Gaming Adapter with Keychain https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GDVGQ48/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9G9fDbXW5RQKD
The stock d-pad is a single button. Kinda like this, https://www.amazon.com/Jadebones-Thumbsticks-Replacements-DualShock-Controller/dp/B07DCJDJTM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=dpad+button+ps4&qid=1553817636&s=videogames&sr=1-2
then start by doing the two actions slowly, then speeding up incrementally until it works, then practice that timing until its memorized. also consider switching to a different controller, consider this, i've had one for months now and its great
Update for you, if you want to shell out the 40 dollars https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GDVGQ48/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and get that, it works fantastic, every button works and no re-wiring, like KeytarsRus said!
I play Xbox One on that small d pad. I have big thumbs so this lead to many missed inputs. I always wanted to try a fightstick but didn't want to invest in something too expensive in case I didn't like it.
Searched this and other fgc subreddits for budget fightsticks and ended up ordering the Mayflash f300 last night. Good reviews for the price, and apparently easy to customize to higher end Sanwa parts if I do end up really enjoying it.
I know that there will be a learning curve, but it just looks so much more fun playing on a fightstick. I can let you know how it goes when I get it this week.
https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-F300-Arcade-Joystick-SWITCH/dp/B019MFPLC0
Edit: Forgot to add that this fightstick works for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch (which was a big plus for me since I will likely buy fighterz for the Switch). You need to plug in your controller to the fightstick when using it on PS4 or Xbox. PC and Switch this isn't necessary.
From my experience, one of the Best entry level sticks you can get is the Venom Arcade Stick.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Venom-Official-PlayStation-Licensed-8-Button/dp/B00NHDSINS?th=1&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/Venom-Arcade-Stick-Sony-Playstation-4/dp/B00NHDSINS
This is the stick that Desk uses and I have one as well. Very nice and sturdy steel build and the buttons, while not Sanwa, are extremely good and the quality difference will be unnoticeable to a beginner.
The best thing about this stick is that it is Extremely, extremely easy to mod, so when you feel like an upgrade, all you have to do is get new parts instead of a brand new stick and Voila, you're tournament ready.
Plexiglass also makes it pretty easy to put your own custom art.
This is probably one of the best Value for money sticks out there.
I recently got a Kingtop it works for all systems. Beginner stick and the buttons are a little stiff but I am planning on modding it with different buttons if possible.
I know of a thing called a Xim adapter that'll let you do it, there are probably other options out there, but Xim 4 is pretty pricy:

I don't think you're talking about David Sirlin because the last time he played competitively was like 10 years ago, but his book "Playing to Win" has some interesting ideas in it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playing-Win-becoming-David-Sirlin/dp/1413498817/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517304883&sr=8-1&keywords=david+sirlin
