Last year everybody was super jealous of my folding stool. I got some great panel spots because nobody was allowed to sit on the floor, but I'd brought my own chair :P I got mine on Amazon, best item I brought for sure. Snapped easily to my bag.

A lot of people in the Bunny Hutch Facebook group have purchased this suit from Amazon and seem pretty satisfied with it. Not sure if it is Prime eligible, though, so it may not get to you in time.
How good are your wife's sewing skills? If she is pretty confident, she could sew her own suit in a weekend using this method, and she can substitute the metal boning (which she'd probably have to order online) with the large plastic zip-ties purchased cheaply from Walmart. Another option might be to hit up a local dance store and use or alter a leotard.
I went a little nuts and ordered this bad boy:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0839Q8M6X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and I am looking into gluing a TILE tracker on it and I will probably still take the advice of a commenter below and zip tie it to the latch AND possibly order a badge holder since everyone says the grommet hole is weak.
Hint: try AirBNB. Still condos with reasonable prices within walking distance of DC.
While you can find various pictures of the fitness center on various sites, this is the best write-up I've seen so far concerning equipment:
enormous (for a hotel) gym with 24 Life Fitness cardio machines, 12 Life Fitness strength-training machines, one dual-pulley Life Fitness station, one smith rack, 3 multi-adjustable benches, one BOSU, several padded mats, and a complete set of dumbbells from 5 to 50 pounds
Looks like they later added this message to the page:
>Update: 8/6 We’ve heard that some folks still can’t get the Google Play Store download to work, so here’s a link to the .apk file for you to download. Note: You will need to allow the installation of non-Market apps in your Application settings in order to install this file.
If you have a microwave in your room, I highly recommend the VeeTee jasmine rice. My favorite protein bars are from Epic Provisions. I also bring a cooler full of baby carrots, apples, and clementines.
Not exactly the answer you may have been looking for, but I figured I would contribute...I bought something like that from Amazon a while back. https://www.amazon.com/Hubsan-H107L-Channel-2-4GHz-Quadcopter/dp/B00IZC6C8E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1474758367&sr=8-3&keywords=hubsan+quadcopter
That's the model I bought, and extra batteries/chargers/parts have been easy to find online and even at hobby specialty shops. This one doesn't have a camera, but there are models that do. Super fun toy, tbh. Pretty sharp learning curve, even on the "beginner" mode that smooths out the flying. Highly encourage getting a propeller guard thing to slap on it especially if you fly indoors.
Additional security tip: get a VPN (list and more info at this article, I personally use VyprVPN: http://lifehacker.com/5940565/why-you-should-start-using-a-vpn-and-how-to-choose-the-best-one-for-your-needs) and then it doesn't matter if you connect to a honeypot or whatever. If you make sure your VPN is enabled, then you are encrypted. Someone can spoof an attwifi hotspot just as easy as you connect to something you don't know what it is. Plus, if you're from out of the country you can pick a server in your home country and your phone/laptop will think you're still at home.
So, here’s the thing. I checked into this and went another direction but....they can’t cancel on you and rebook with someone else. They also, once it’s booked with you at the rate they advertised and confirmed, can’t raise the rate.

A friendly reminder that in the state of Georgia it is illegal to have prescription medication in any container except for the labeled container it came in. While it's unlikely that anyone would notice if you didn't it's better to be safe.
Also, a small, reuseable grocery bag like this can fold up really nicely and fit inside a backpack or pocket for any purchases made around con.
One year I had a backpack mounted dispenser…
Might be a bit much for pie, but worked great for what I was doing!
You can buy a fairly small, thin USB powered desk fan on Amazon for roughly $15. I’ve taken it on my last few trips and really liked it.
Seconding everyone saying plastic bins. I keep every cosplay in its own bin so packing is as easy as possible and I know I’m not forgetting anything. Putting some of those collapsible wire cube organizers on top of the desk area maximizes that vertical space. Especially good for snacks, disposable utensils, wig heads, communal cosplay supplies, etc. I have an XL travel toiletry case that unfolds and has a hanger on it to hang up, I keep stuff like sewing supplies, hot glue, tape, bandaids, etc. in it so it’s all out of the way and visible for anyone wanting to use it. We also unpack everything into the provided furniture and tuck suitcases away in the closet or in a corner- seems obvious but I’ve met many people content to just fling their suitcase open on the ground and leave their stuff scattered around it all weekend 💀
There's also a Doctor Who meet up on Thursday night. You can check with like-minded Whovians then.
Also, here's a more organized list of some known shoots.
As stated previously by other folks hotels.com is a decent resource. I know personally the year I stayed away from the host hotels, we stayed @ a hotel near the airport and we took the Marta in every day. Hotels were cheap out that way too (back in either 2014 or 2015). It sucked not being close to the con, but an uber ride is cheap enough or you can always be a night owl and stay until the Marta picks back up @ 6am.
Needless to say, the room was only like 75 a night, so I didn't mind paying the 25 for Marta or the $15 cab ride back.
You could look into apartments. My sister and I got an apartment for the week for just over $2000. Has a double bed and futon. So like, $100 a night per person (there's 3 of us).
This website is good. https://www.airbnb.com/
I crash at a friends place 5 minutes away, so I was smarter this year and bought a small backpack that has a cooler compartment! I brought my own snacks and (cold) drinks which cuts down on my budget (and saves time running back up to a hotel if staying on site).
Posloc Laptop Backpack with Cooler,Leak-Proof Cooler Backpack 25L for Lunch,School Computer Bag for Women & Men Fits 14 Inch Laptop and Notebook,Insulated Cooler Bag Backpack for Daily Work and Trip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CZYJ9PN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FY84H4X7KMGQKQYED5NB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It also has a regular compartment, so I kept my normal items separate and whatever I purchased in that section of the bag.
ZIP TIES.
Zip tie that motherfucker to your lanyard. Do NOT use a lanyard that had a dog-leash style clip, or one that has a backpack-pull thing at the bottom. You want a SPRING CLIP, and you want to ZIP TIE that bastard to a KEY RING integrated into your lanyard. You want this, not that.
TWICE. Zip tie that fucker TWICE.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
I am currently wearing these and they feel great. They do wear out kinda quickly so I'm thinking about buying them again in black or navy. They are water shoes so they breathe.

I like Captain Morgan or Amaretto. You can get your choice of flask at walmart from the plain metal ones, clear plastic, or name brands like Stanley make some. I like this plastic one, because it's easy to pop open and clean. I painted it to match my costume so I could pass it off as a prop.
This one can hold up to 275lb, so your pregnant wife shouldn't be a problem, and it has a back which should be helpful if she needs to shift around to get comfortable. It weighs less than 5lbs so it should be easy to carry and even comes with a strap to do so.
I have this one but have never taken it with me around DC. I recently started using it at the Prado for Pokemon and it's really easy to carry. But I need to rig it with a strap so I can sling it over back.
Spouse and I are getting these. Alternatively one with a back. The one I listed holds up to 275lbs and puts me sitting perfectly straight with knees slightly bent.
Oh, believe me, I know It can be gamed, and all about the Hugo's. The Director of the Film Festival wrote a book on it this past year, and I got to read an early version. You can get it from Amazon here
I don't have anything close to that model, but here's one on Amazon for around $40. I usually completely disable airsoft guns so they can not be fired in any way before I bring them. Most of them you can do that by opening them and removing the trigger mechanism. Those you can usually reassemble later. On some, if they can't be opened, I just drizzle super glue in various parts to render them inoperable.

So. God. Damn. Hilarious. I've woken my wife up while I giggle at the entries at 5am in the morning.
