This is an instrumental version of a song with vocals. That's why they can get away with releasing something so "minimal."
we prefer "handi-capableton"
^^/unjerk ^^edit: ^^I've ^^been ^^bedridden ^^for ^^going ^^on ^^a ^^year ^^and ^^use ^^SunVox ^^on ^^my ^^phone. ^^Here's ^^someone ^^demonstrating.
I really want you to try making something electronic that you feel proud of. Spend time on it. Make it match your tastes enough that you may actually willingly listen to it. Focus, clearly envision all elements of the song and approximate every detail of them to the absolute best of your ability.
SunVox is a free, lightweight DAW for computers, and $6 as a mobile app. Some find the learning curve a little steep, but I personally have always found the tracker format in general to be very intuitive.
Here's a tiny little something I just doodled. JUST FOR YOU. MY BESTEST FRIEND. ♥
This post keeps crashing EDMSaveBot because it's so freaking long.

Worked out a way to create massive sounds using Nexus 2
-Layer 2 synths, one covering the lower frequencies the other the highs, play big chords on each
-Very slight reverb and delay on each, less on the lead synth (Nexus)
-Slight spread on one of them, slightly lower cutoff on bass synth if it's getting in the way (Nexus)
-Chorus synth verb on both, adjust so there's only a slight tail when you release a note (Nexus)
-Degrader on each synth (adjust so the effect isn't too great but basically the sound is a little punchier) (Nexus)
-Chorus on each synth (Nexus)
-Make sure Nexus' sys settings are set to +6db and ultra
-Don't know about other DAWs but using Logic Pro I create a track stack combining the 2 synths
-Use Cytomic's The Glue compressor on the combined synth, use the catch the peaks preset
-Using The Glue or another compressor, sidechain the lead synth to the bass synth to create some bounciness
-Use your DAW's reverb on both the synths (again very slight)
-Add a multipressor (I use Logic's punchy deep preset)
-Add an exciter
-Add some slight stereo spread
-Once your synths are balanced right add boost EQ
If anyone's interested I can post a sample of the result, hope this was useful haha

/unjerk bandpassing is actually pretty good at acheiveing growly stuff, this is bandpasses, compression and vocdex on a sytrus patch... sdaly I no longer have the patcher preset rip https://clyp.it/mmuspuru
bro dont u kno that if u use harmor, the synth of the gods above, u can drop that photo in and it makes a sound?
edit: here u go https://clyp.it/eyrfltmk
Because big room is so yesterday, I made a second part with the best wavetable on earth and a third with the dankest future house loop in the world. Optimized for maximum hunneyz with sausage fattener and soundgoodizer. only garrix approved samples and vsts too http://imgur.com/NYOVlUM
/unjerk Sorry for not delivering yesterday, some jerk leaked Game of Thrones. Also I quantized the melody, so sorry if it's not pure enough.
Honestly I started on trackers, I fucked around with hammerhead and the early versions of Fruity around 3.0. People are biting off way more than they can chew to be honest. I already played the guitar and drums so I knew all about effects pedals and keeping the beat and whatnot.
p.s: I kind of find the /uj and /rj a little bit over the top in this sub, I hope that we are smart enough to know when one is being truthful or sarcastic.

I am developing a self-learning AI to write music - Please submit midi files!
Hello guys, I am currently working on a project to create an AI that should be able to at some point write EDM melodies, chord progressions and entire scores. I am using a neural network approach and therefore need as big amounts of data as I can get. (don't worry I will not use any scores submitted, other than assigning them an internal score and then feeding them to my neural network as a learning function)
I am looking for:
Please note that any submissions are welcome, even tracks already released or melodies composed by someone else because they are only used internally.
if you have any midi files laying around matching these criteria, please submit them here as this will greatly help this project.
Thank you very much!

Because commercial MIDI devices are for plebs, amirite?
^^^/uj that would actually be pretty cool though...

[Help] Headphones for Production
hello /r/edmproduction,
I am searching for headphones for my music production. As I started only a few months before I don't need the high-end headphones.
Already I am aiming at the "Sennheiser HD 558". Can you guys recommend them? Besides that I will use them for normal music listening at home and gaming.
