Man, if this is going to be anything like our last game, we actually spend a LOT of time working with our backers to refine and polish ideas. You'll see a ton of concept art in the updates at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/859254890/for-my-brother/posts and we really want people to weigh in and engage. We have shipped before, so we're not total noobs, but we know we really are going to need the whole community if we're going to rock. Your help is absurdly appreciated.
Yeah, sorry to be snarky, it is hard to resist.
The game is written about a lady, the main writer is a lady (me, I am Katy), and 1 out of the 2 other writers is a lady (they are Kiyome and Matt).
The story was inspired by the weirdness of running into middle school friends on Facebook. I was raised in a rural town in Pennsylvania and moved away to chase life. Now I have a great career but I'm unable to connect with my old friends because their lives have taken such a different direction. Many of them never held jobs to speak of at all, they just started having kids! We struggle a lot to find a way to communicate.
I have spent a lot of time thinking about how Frodo goes West with the elves at the end of The Return of the King. He couldn't be content to go back to The Shire anymore, he's changed a lot, so he moves on. Same vibe.
Through aggressive editing we were able to make the story far more universally accessible. Almost everybody has had to make choices which they believe are for the best, but which emotionally isolate them from people they love. We hope to capture that. We're really pleased that so far it looks like men can relate to this story too.

There is way more art (and music by the awesome Machinae Supremacy) at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/859254890/for-my-brother if you are interested. Check out the updates, we try to post new art every day.
I kind of hope it's as messed up as the youtube videos say... There was some bugs with the collision engine and I would pay more money for a version which was like that than the original!

I loved Braid and Machinarium as well, both are great picks. Do you own any consoles? I think you'd enjoy LittleBigPlanet. Spelunky is another favorite of mine, plus it's free.
You can also check out the list of free games that I'm working on if you want to try new things without dropping any cash.
This past weekend my friend/supplier came over. He, I, and my other friend smoked two medium-sized bowls and then started listening the Vol. 3 of the soundtrack. He (the friend/supplier) decided he needed to see "The Part Where He Kills You" and "Bombs for Throwing at You" in context. He was not prepared, especially for "Cara Mia Addio!"
Well, you were fooled if you thought D3 was going to be a Diablo Experience, but from what i've heard Torchlight2 is very worth it.
And Second, Runic was founded by developers from Blizzard North who were instrumental in the making of Diablo and Diablo II. So with this one, you're actually getting a game made by the Diablo team.
Here is a website that should help you out. It will request to run a Java program to grab your system specs and tell you what games you could probably run. Hope it helps.
