The developers are very active in improving the platform performance. Both Desktop & Mobile. Both of which are an ongoing challenge, read more about it here.
They use something called OTA Updates, which essentially reduces the times you'll actually see the app updating, whether that be the Preload Splash (Guilded's initial launching with the logo filling up) saying that it's updating or an Update on your Mobile App Store.
There are many different ways you could do that, so here you go:
- By advertising it in weekly server recruitment on this subreddit, in various promoting/advertising servers on Guilded and in server recruitment.
- By being active in the Guilded community. That can attract at least decent number of people.
- By having something unique in your server that gives the server purpose for a lot of people.
- By having a lot of (especially unique & useful) emotes.
That's how I grew my server to 379 members.
One of the ways they get funding is via server subscriptions. It's kind of like Patreon, where you can donate to your favorite servers. They get a 2.5% cut, which is quite a bit less than other crowd-funding platforms.

It was pretty cool. I certainly like the new version better, and I don't have the best memory so I don't know exactly what it used to look like, but I have a few screenshots here. Keep in mind this is a streamer's server that I set up back in the day, so it does include ads to their stuff.
I really liked the darker color scheme.
Having groups only for games was a bit limiting, but it was pretty nice anyways. It automatically had all channel types (which, of course, weren't really channels, but sections). There was pretty little setup in terms of permissions. You could set perms server wide, and make exceptions per group. There was also no chat section, but on the bottom right there was a Reddit chat-esque chat tab, which had global chats for all games, and a chat per server/"team".
I'm not really posting my opinion here, so you can form your own based on what I said above and the screenshots found in the docs channel I linked.

You are not blind, they just hid it very well. You have to click on the little "Guilded" icon top left of the window. You can also visit it by sending yourself the link which is www.guilded.gg/explore. They really got find a better place to put it, although I feel like they are going to scrap it/redo it.
You can expect for free on Guilded what you pay for in discord, plus a lot of features you cant get on discord no matter how much you pay.
The mobile section is constantly improving, there is some lag when loading the official Guilded server but that too will get fixed.

Thanks for the reply. I've been wating almost 2 days for it. Surely, marketing is really important, but I kind of get their point on not doing it as much, at least in their current situation. Guilded is still lacking optimization, Simplified UI Revamp, and much more. There are a lot of bugs too. If they did so as of now, most people would refuse to switch as they don't want to be on a platform that is "laggy". In tech, you only have one chance of succeeding when you create a product. This is probably why they haven't moved yet. Or maybe there are other reasons.
I think one of their selling points when they do start advertising the app is Privacy. Although not the greatest as they still got a Grade D in tosdr.org, Discord has a Grade E, and you basically give up all your rights to the company(You allow them to change their ToS without previous notice, they can keep logs of everything you do for an undefined period of time, you give up your right for a Class Action Lawsuit unless it is made in California, and most importantly, they can censor your communications if they feel like so). Guilded doesn't censor you nor does it keep logs, they do accept DNT(Do Not Track requests) and you can sue them if you feel like so(you also receive notices on ToS changes). That is why I think they should add privacy to their marketing when they do start invention onto it.

About: I recently (a couple of days ago) discovered Guilded and instantly fell in love with it! I'm currently waiting on a new beastly gaming PC, but once it arrives I'll be gaming and streaming on a regular basis. I can still play games now, but I can't stream at the same time. In the meantime I'd love it if we could create an active and fun community where members can easily find others to team up with or play against!
I'm still discovering and creating more areas on the server, but currently there's dedicated groups set up for Chivalry 2 (for when it releases in June), Fall Guys, Among Us, and Valheim, accessed via self-assigned roles. No doubt more will be created in due course, and depending on the interests of community members as we grow (Jackbox/party games likely being next up).
There are areas for sharing game reviews, general chat, music, screenshots/videos, streaming announcements, schedules, giveaways, and hopefully some tournaments (particularly with Chivalry 2) at some point!
The rules are general "common" sense. Basically, be nice, inclusive, and have fun!
