I will (always and forever) recommend There Is No Good Card For This if folks want to explore their empathy and compassion more. It's more focused on close relationships, but I think it easy to extrapolate out to more casual or professional relationships.
It may go with out saying, but greeting every new colleague with "so do you have kids?" is loaded and kind of inappropriate (unless maybe you are surrogates? sorry my brain lives there now). I read the advice somewhere else along these lines, NEVER ask someone if they have kids... either they will tell you they have kids (if they want to) OR mention your own kids and they will pile on. I thought that was a good alternative approach that doesn't put people in an uncomfortable situation.
I'll also add that the "do you have kids?" question often borders on sexism as well. I get asked it WAY more than my male peers from what I can tell.
This morning is my 5th transfer. I keep warring between excitement, hopefulness, and then trampling it down with the reminder that the previous 4 had failed to implant and this isn't my only transfer with good blasts. But what gives me hope is that my eggs were better quality with the HGH prime.
My RE is going to give his whole "I have a good feeling" speel and all that makes me want to do is punch him in the face. Our chances are generally 20-30% with IVF. That gives a big margin of failure to overcome. In fact, I've already got next steps planned. ERA then #6 doing the exact same protocol.
Mr. Icse is trying to be super positive and I want to punch him in the face too. He thinks I'm being Debbie Downer and well, I have every right to be with my history.
At least I'm wearing my pineapple socks that say "Fuck 'em".
ETA: transferred two good looking blasts and we actually got to freeze two as well. This is only the second time we've ever gotten anything to freeze.

Mini greenhouse update: I made a tiny blue cabinet with working drawer. I'm glad I didn't try to tackle it sooner because it was the most complex thing I've made so far.
Your goal shouldn't be to cheer her up. She is most likely grieving a life that she thought she had and feeling like it's very unfair that it was taken from her. Your goal should be to be there with her in it. I highly (and frequently ) recommend the book, "There is no good card for this" for specific information on how to show loved ones compassion in the face of grief and loss.
Yes, medications that interact with your hormones also tend to change your mood. I get very down and irritable during my natural luteal phase, and I get similar mood problems anytime I'm on progesterone containing medications. So it's not uncommon to find your mood problems worsened not just by the situation of infertility, but also the medications.
A lot of people use alcohol to cope, and it's a very effective anxiolytic in the moment, so sudden sobriety is also a very common time for people to realize "Oh shit, my anxiety is actually terrible!"
There are a lot of things you can do to be proactive and help pull yourself out of the spiral, including therapy and considering medications for your mood, but also including making sure you spend some time outside in the sun everyday, physical exercise, and spending some time with other people even though you don't want to. For self help, this is a decent book. I used it a few months after my miscarriage. You could also use it with a therapist. It's a general primer to cognitive behavioural therapy but in a miscarriage/infertility/infant loss package.
Got some things accomplished around the house today (finally!), which felt really good. Several friends have been raving about The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, so I ordered it last week and it arrived yesterday. Will it actually be life-changing? Stay tuned...
Grapefuit is a concern with some medications because of how we process it. There's a system in the liver that is how we break things down. Simplified explanation: grapefruit uses the same "breakdown equipment" as a lot of medications, like statins. So if you take in a bunch of grapefruit, it slows the breakdown of the meds, and can resultingly keep levels high in your body longer. For most medications though, it takes a lot of grapefruit. If you're worried, certainly call the nurse. But an upset stomach wouldn't be a symptom. The acidity of the grapefruit all on its own can upset your stomach, obviously, independent of the medication interaction. Here's more info on it: https://www.webmd.com/drug-medication/news/20121127/grapefruit-some-medications-risky#1
ETA: didn't realize there was a second pathway for other meds. That one results in too low of med levels. Shown here: https://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm292276.htm If it was too low though, you can adjust course with stim levels as you check as you go along. I doubt a one off modification would have much effect. But again, if worried, may as well call.
First PIO shot in the books and it was totally painless!! Hat tip to freedom med teach for showing me how to find the proper placement, then make contact with the needle and my skin before darting it in. If I hadn’t watched the vid I would have come in hot and stabbed myself from a foot away 🙈
PS I’m now walking around the house with no pants on and this no-hands heat pad is a game changer
If you don't already know about it, the sub r/ifchildfree is a wonderful place too. Also the book The Next Happy is helpful for some. I wish you peace and fulfillment.
Browsing this nice presentation on uninterrupted embryo cultures this morning. https://www.slideshare.net/Research_Instruments/efficiency-of-dry-and-time-lapse-systems-in-human-embryo-and-blastocyst-culture-by-lindsey-mayes-bennett-fertility-institute
I heard from the nursing staff yesterday that they have changed protocols in my lab, which would result in less phone calls, but didn't get details. Waiting right now for them to call w/ my fert report and to talk me about this change, which I'm hoping is some sort of uninterrupted culture now. I'm totally fine w/ no day 3 report if it means I have a chance at more blasts. I've had abysmal day 3 -> day 5 rates after 90-100% fertilization and day 3 rates.
I read the conversation and did some thinking myself. I have the same problem, I never seem to get anything done at home because:
I do like a clean house AND I like seeing progress/metrics/points/whatever, so I did another search for a gamified housekeeping app and I found one! ourhomeapp.com I'm hoping that this will make me want to get more productive instead of spending time on Reddit.
I'm giving it a spin for a couple of weeks. :)
The Mayo Clinic has a great site that talks about your first appointment so you can talk him though questions. Also write down your questions and have him take notes. I hope this link works I'm on mobile and traveling.

Evil amazon.
I've had on the same pair with some breaks (gotta let those nipples breathe) for four/five days so they last forever. These are saving me!

Here's an Amazon link for those interested. Barbara Ehrenreich's Bright-sided: How Positive Thinking Is Undermining America. Also check your public library because they probably have it. I am not exaggerating when I say this book completely changed the way I see the world and our particular moment in history. It's strange because it's all right in front of us but I hadn't had the right lens or vocabulary to see or discuss it.
4DP5DT.
I've read online that people test as early as 5DP5DT (but those people always seem to be pregnant with twins).
Pregnancy tests arrive in the mail from Amazon today. But, I'm super nervous because a lot of the reviews say the tests are knockoffs/defective:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000052XHI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Could it be that all the people commenting bought from a third-party seller instead of the Amazon preferred seller?
Should I buy another type of pregnancy test?
And if you like podcasts, this 5-episode series about a couple going through IVF might be helpful as a way to build context around what the process involves: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/ivfml-podcast_n_592dc2cae4b055a197cda587
http://www.costco.com/Qunol™-Mega-CoQ10-100-mg%2c-120-Softgels.product.11630572.html
I purchased mine from Costco.com because I was too lazy to drive over to the warehouse. :| Online price is the same as warehouse price anyway. I think I paid a few bucks less ($7 off?) because it was a coupon book item when I got them, back in November I think.
I have a whole basket of blankets heh....store is here
Edit: PS to everyone who may see that. I know the store links my name and town, but I don't mind. I'm out in the open about the infertility thing, done meetups, and otherwise not worried about people stalking me. If, however, it breaks rules, let me know.
It's snowing - again. I'm so very over winter and hoping that this evil weather won't keep my husband's flight from getting in on time tomorrow. Most of the local airports are cancelled and I know it becomes a total domino effect.
In other news - first coat of paint is up on the dining room wall. Need to touch up the trim this afternoon but shouldn't take too long. Also patched up the bathroom so that should be ready for the oil based primer later today, and from there a nice new normal shade of blue and not one that looks like it came from a Wham! video.

I am pretty new to this but your AMH is on the lower end for your age. Mine is also low, and my doctor gave me this article to read and said it was the best one out there on the topic.
Basically, your AMH and your Antral Follicle Count (did you get that done?) are (the best) indicators of your ovarian reserve. If they are low, your chances of conceiving may be diminished and you might not have as much time as others. That being said, doctors take other factors into account, such as other hormone levels, age (very important), etc. Ideally, doctors like to see an AMH over 1. But having a low one does not mean you can't conceive, but you might need help, and they'll likely suggest a more aggressive treatment. Hope this helps?
More here: https://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/infertilityedu/causes/anti-m%C3%BCllerian-hormone/program/
ETA: No clue but Your lower AMH might be due to the smaller ovary, and you still have one great one? And I want to emphasize that your age is very important. Having a low AMH at a younger age is better than having the same level at a later age. And your FSH looks good, which is also promising. So don't freak out. My doctor wasn't too concerned and there is still a lot of hope.
I have a love hate relationship with Excel, pivot tables are great once you have the set up done. Here is a tutorial that looks pretty good: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/13336/working-with-pivottables-in-excel/
Husband has him sperm analysis tomorrow....we spent last night making up ways to make it really awkward:
He's curious about the "average time" it takes, he doesn't want to seem really fast or really slow, haha!

This is a really good article on OHSS. Start weighing yourself daily. If you gain more than 2lbs per day, let your RE know ASAP. If you have any of the symptoms listed, tell your RE. Some doctors will give cabergoline to reduce the chances of OHSS. Some people will tell you to drink lots of electrolytes and eat salty foods to help with the water weight, which may ancedotally help with the symptoms.
Good luck in the Hungee Games.
Absolutely you should! Every trip this past year has been for IF reasons. We decided to go on a longer road trip this christmas holiday. https://roadtrippers.com/map?a2=t%219118906&lat=38.10863&lng=-120.00366&utm_campaign=trip&utm_medium=share&utm_source=copy&z=6
Because sometimes you just need to gtfo!!!
Mine fluctuated recently and unfortunately it went way down. My retest, which was 0.49 was done during the luteal phase and initial test was 0.9 done during follicular. I freaked out at first but stumbled upon this study, which found that there were large differences in AMH between follicular and luteal phases across all groups of ovarian reserve. My numbers are still low regardless, but it made me way better. The differences in Table 2 are crazy: https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Anti-M%C3%BCllerian-hormone-exhibits-a-great-variation-Gorkem-Kucukler/c342d240073ecfaacb98802e60bf1a95fab33eef
I'm using this one from Amazon, but mostly because I like to break them up into meals so I'm not taking like 15 pills all at once!
I just ordered this and am going to start reading it tonight. We have an extensive assortment of pain relief devices from before my last surgery. One of the things I liked a lot is an accupressure mat and pillow, it’s a good pain if that makes sense. Sometimes is used the mat and sometimes I just use the pillow (it feels good on the back of my neck when I have a headache). I actually stopped wearing leggings as much in general because they were so tight and restricted. I found Vuori joggers great. Also, these joggers from Amazon are really awesome and reasonably priced: BALEAF Women's Cotton Sweatpants Lightweight Joggers Pants Tapered Active Yoga Lounge Casual Pants with Pockets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYV6TJC/
Sure! They are amaazing. I wear them to sleep because t-shirts hurt.

Good morning all. I have a question about European menopur. Does anyone know the size of this honker of a needle in the video at 1:14? I think it’s the reconstitution needle? In my prescription I was asked to get fifteen 22 gauge 1.5 inch needles and fifteen 30 gauge 0.5 inch needles, but I wasn’t sure if they were under the impression that I would be getting the US menopur that has the q cap.
I’m currently on Amazon and I think I have the right 3 cc needle-less syringe as well as each of the needle sizes required.
If anyone has any advice or better suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!
It buzzes and the wings freeze! So I put the wings on the spot for 30 seconds, then turn on buzzing during injection heres the Amazon link
This cleanser is amazing and costs half the price in Japan (score!) https://www.amazon.com/Cure-Natural-Aqua-Gel-250ml/dp/B001ABLKK2
I love the Belief line from Korea, they have this moisturizing gel that's fab. I'm hoping I'll find it there. I've gotten it a few times as samples from Sephora.
I'm obsessed with the sheet face masks, though you can get them cheap on amazon US. but those are so fun.
And there are various Shiseido products I like but that starts to get pricey. We'll see how it is there.
I found this blog which has a few of the things I've mentioned and some more I want to try: http://blog.fromjapan.co.jp/en/recommended/10-japanese-skin-care-products-that-are-healthy-for-your-skin-wallet.html
Oh and Mascara! They have the best mascara with ridiculous names.. DollyWink is one that comes to mind. They are cheap, like $5 so I'm going to grab a few.
You can buy pharmaceutical grade DHEA off of Amazon. It's pretty pricey. Also, ladies with Endometriosis shouldn't take it either.
I have struggled a lot with anxiety my entire life. I've tried a lot of different things at different times. One thing that was immensely helpful for me at a very stressful time was the book Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks. I recommend getting the audio version as well so you can just listen to the book (less effort than reading it when you aren't feeling well).
It's difficult to explain, but, I've used the techniques in the book to cure anxiety I had over very specific things in my life--think like, specific phobias. This was some years ago, and I actually got the information at the time from somewhere else, not from this book specifically.
Anyways, back to this book in particular: it employs the same techniques that were so very helpful for me in the past. I can't tell you how much they changed my life for the better. I don't know why, but I didn't realize that I could apply the same techniques to generalized anxiety and panic attacks, but that is what this book teaches you to do. You can really apply the techniques to any specific anxieties, or even to anxiety that you cannot pinpoint a source for.
I really hope you will consider getting the book! What have you got to lose, right?
(Also, if you do read the reviews on Amazon, a few people mention god in their reviews, but the book is not religious at all.)
So simple yet so helpful to me was your cologne sampler idea for hubby. He likes to try new scents....why did I never think of this. The sephora one looks amazing because you get a full size of your favorite from the bunch. The price was a little much for me right now though as we kinda agreed "no gifts" this year due to our budget. But I did find a little 5 piece sampler at Macys for $20 (no coupon for a free full bottle after) that seems to work too. I think he'll love it.
I'm very excited about the gift I got my 2 yr old nephew. It's the Fisher Price Food Truck. It looks adorable and he's loving pretend play right now so I can't wait to see him try it out.
For your 6yo nephew -- if he likes Lego building stuff - how about some other type of building thing. This looked like it gets good reviews on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/ZOOB-0Z14001-BuilderZ-Bot/dp/B003IKN4OS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512147565&sr=8-3&keywords=robot+building+kit+for+kids
I'm in my hubby's amazon right now cause he buys stuff for his afterschool class room (ages 5-10). He recently bought Blokus the game- apparently kids love it.
He also bought them this building kit : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XNNWNQH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I get these on Amazon. They sometimes go even lower in prices. They are sold cheaper on Amazon than Walmart.
Not sure how much they've improved my sperm, I'll find out next week!
Yes, you may want to consider adding back the probiotic (or do some research and switch to a better one) and switch to magnesium glycinate. I did a ton of research on the magnesium before I bought it and feel comfortable with the brand Pure Encapsulations. I get it on Amazon . I think it took a couple weeks for my body to get used to it and my stool is still softer than before but very regular

Conquering Infertility: Dr. Alice Domar's Mind/Body Guide to Enhancing Fertility and Coping with Infertility
I bought this book when I was at peak stress levels from struggling with infertility. It was before I joined Reddit, so it was the first time I heard something that validated all my thoughts and made me feel less alone. She also offers some tips to help relax, which were helpful.
I also suffer from migraines and really struggled during treatment.
I found my migraines were at their worse at the beginning of new medication (estrogen, progesterone, gonadotropins... didn't matter, they all sucked), but lessened after the first week. Hopefully this will be the case for you, too. My RE said Sumatriptan (Imitrex) is safe to take during treatment and pregnancy if this is a medication that helps you. My PCP recommended daily magnesium supplements (400mg), which I do believe reduced the frequency of my migraines. I also bought a headache hat so I could at least be mobile during migraines. I loved it so much I bought a second.
Sorry you're going through this, but hope some of these suggestions help!
Yes—look up tegaderm film—this is what I use over my patches. I bought some at Target but there were only 8 in a box so I ordered more off Amazon. I got more sheets for a lot less from the Amazon pack. Here’s the ones I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009Q2OMW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And I replace mine around the same time every day, but not any set time. I just do it in the morning after I wake up/shower on patch change days. This hasn’t caused any issue with my levels.
I know this is technically a craft box, but this has worked great for me
Welcome to the jungle! Two things that have helped me and my husband immensely: 1. Print off multiple copies of the protocol 2. Buy a craft organizer to store your room temp meds, syringes, gauze, alcohol pads. We bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NFRDYBM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Seconding embroidery! I’ve bought the kits for Christmas. Sure, I have not actually finished one of the two yet 🙃, but it’s a nice distraction when I need it! Like others here, I’ve also enjoyed trying crochet Amigurumi. Lastly adult coloring books! There’s a geometric color by number thing that is super mindless (and kinda tedious, but it works for me!) I’m kinda all over the place with distractions and pick up one when I get bored of the other.
Anyone bake and use a Kitchen Aid mixer? My husband upgraded my paddle and whisk attachments to full stainless steel for me as part of my birthday gift and these things are stunning!!! Links below because these are too good to gatekeep!
I sew up all my button up tops or dresses. If I need to keep them functional (I.e. in a romper) then I see in these snaps between the buttons to reduce gaping.
I agree with everyone’s recommendations on heated seat/heat pack. I use an eye pillow actually, it’s filled with beads and I pop it into the microwave for about a minute while we’re doing the shot. Then I fold it over and massage the area with it. When I was commuting I would put it against my seat and rub my hip against it while driving… another, more travel friendly tip is a hand held massager. You can get them on Amazon for around $15, battery powered or usb plug in for recharging. This
This one is my favorite. It's so soft and it's nice and big. Plus you can machine wash it and it has a 2-hour auto shut-off function. Plus amazon has a $7 off coupon for it (at least on the US site; not sure if it works in Canada or not).
Yes! I had the same klutz friendship bracelet book! I do a ton of cross stitching now too- wonder if there’s a correlation! And I had one for hair wraps- remember those??
I’ve been eyeing this book for the clay minis:
After my EMMA test came back showing no Lactobacillus (good bacteria), my RE had me take VagiBIOM vaginal suppositories, then switch to Garden of Life Vaginal Care oral probiotics just before transfer.
Also in case it's helpful to you (or anyone) - I found the injections to be way more manageable once I got them all organized in this little guy (except the ones in the fridge, of course) - it was so overwhelming when they were all in boxes taking up an entire tabletop!
I use Wondflo and they sell lh-only. Otherwise I just keep the hcg tests out of the bathroom. If the tests aren't within reach, I won't bother going to get them.
I use these suppository applicators: Disposable Vaginal Suppository Applicators: Individually Wrapped Boric Acid Applicators for Women - Fits Boric Acid Vaginal Suppositories Pills Tablets and Size 0 and 00 Capsules -16 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PQNCR3K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7KDMY6TD4TDDF2QQ7RKG?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I’ve tried another type of applicator that doesn’t work because the pill falls thru the side but these ones work really well for me.
I like this bamboo desk organizer bc it doesn’t contribute as much to plastic waste and can be repurposed as a desk organizer at some point, if this is the kind of thing you like
So much better than the bleak gray plastic ones my grandparents had! Another pill case option that a friend got me for my transfer pills. It's convenient to be able to slip one day's pills in my purse and not have to take the whole giant caboodle.
You might like this electrolyte mixthat is unflavored/unsweetened! It makes water a tiny bit salty and sort of thick, but it’s not sweet or artificial tasting like most electrolyte drinks! It saved me.
Woohoo! Exciting news!
Life saver = BULLY STICKS. Kept our guy busy chewing for good chunks of time.
I've heard that young puppies have a strong preference for soft, chewy toys. Mine certainly did! He especially liked things like this. I would skip any of the hard plastic toys / chew things until your puppy is older (although tbh none of my dogs have ever liked this kind of toy at any age so 🤷♀️).
Enjoy the time with your new puppy! And if the puppy blues hit, remember it gets better quickly.
My EMMA result showed no Lactobacillus but it was likely due to having taken antibiotics shortly before for an HSG. Treatment was to take about 10 days of vaginal probiotic suppositories (I used VagiBIOM) followed by oral probiotics which I still take as part of my daily supplements (I use Garden of Life Vaginal Care. My RE didn’t recommend re-testing before FET, but my result did not show any “bad” bacteria (probably also because I had taken antibiotics). As far as I understand, EMMA/ALICE biopsies have to be taken during the luteal phase.
Can you get a small mini fridge for your room? A lot of people who are obsessed with skin care get these small fridges to put in their bathroom to keep their creams and oils cold. You could easily keep your meds in your room where they won’t see them.
So the kit I bought had a YouTube video review. Then I found a light I liked and a cordless E-file. Amazon links below.

When I started IVF, I read all of the wiki information for the sub that I could about our possible treatment and procedures. It helped me ask direct and informed questions during appointments.
We made a spreadsheet to compare prices for meds and decide where to order between 3 places. The clinic sent a link to a website with injection videos.
http://freedommedteach.com/eng/
I keep a notebook that I take to every appointment and write down the stats as well as follow up instructions. This also helps me write down questions to ask the doctor when we have check in meetings.
I made a basket for injection supplies and keep the calendar/paperwork from our clinic in a folder in it. My partner and I review it together so we’re on the same page.
I swear by small round ice/heat packs for shots, as well as little round bandaids. Music is great to help you get in the right headspace and keeps me from hearing the injection pens click. A nice shoulder rub doesn’t hurt afterwards.

Heading into ER #2 soon, I’m going to follow the poop protocol from the wiki and use hydration packs to stay ahead of stim fatigue. Last time I was endlessly thirsty. February has been deemed no buttons on pants month!
Most of all, there’s a lot of hurry up and wait. This process can be challenging in so many ways. I hope you can be extra good to yourself and reach out if you need support. 💗
I’m sorry, that’s a lot to handle all at once. I found this website, https://www.7cups.com/, it says they have trained, volunteer listeners you can talk to for free and therapists for $150/month. I haven’t used it before but it looks like they’ve been around for a while. Hang in there, you’re doing your best. 💜
actually, aside from the muscle fatigue in the standing leg, that was the most flexible I've been heh...probably the crazy long warm up I had. I'm standing on the summit of Mt. Washington in NH. Highest peak in the North East!
Etsy...my mom and I went in together due to the massive amounts of blankets piling up. It's a new store, only opened 3 months ago, and so far I've sold four (4!) things! :) Ironically, baby blankets because they're fast and easy. And, well, so far, I'm not needing any =/
It's a bit of a blessing and a curse! I like having this info because I'm learning a lot and I feel like I'm in more "control", but in reality, my body is going to do whatever it wants, regardless of how much I know.
I actually was offered birth control last month to try to prevent the cysts from growing, but declined because I don't normally have issues with cysts outside of what's left over from treatment cycles. Birth control does not actually shrink cysts -skip to the treatment part of the link, they only prevent new ones from growing, and since these cysts are a result of retrieval gone awry, I don't anticipate growing anymore.
I just hope I'm making the right decision. Guess I should stockpile on IVF meds now in preparation!

I’ve been taking the Jarrow Probiotic for the last month in preparation for a potential FET. Not sure why I picked this one, I think maybe I saw a post from someone saying their doctor recommended it. I have noticed improvements in my gut health but that’s about it. I’ve been considering whether or not I should look into vaginal probiotics as well
Someone in r/IVF posted about the infertility podcast Taco Bout Fertility Tuesday which is a podcast created by an RE about fertility issues and questions from fertility patients.
I just listened to this episode in preparation for my upcoming IVF cycle and found it reassuring re: timing of injections, etc… https://www.buzzsprout.com/621007/8978176-understanding-ivf-injections-where-to-place-them-timing-and-importance
I have this EXACT same set up!! It is amazing. I think all in (if you don’t count my iPad) this set up cost me $375 maybe? I know my sunny bike goes on sale quite regularly. I’d get the 49lb flywheel as I heard the 40lb flywheel can feel a little less stable. But this is the same hack that I did with the wahoo cadence tracker!
Okay, here’s how you can do morning coffee while camping! Buy a jet boil (or a knock off brand but this is an original) and then bring a French press. Boil the water in your jet boil and then make fresh coffee with your French press! That’s what my husband and I do when camping. Delicious, fresh coffee!
So sorry to hear this. Multiple losses can feel so hopeless. Fwiw I thought this book had good information about RPL and the scientific writing was helpful to me: https://www.amazon.com/Coming-Term-Uncovering-Truth-Miscarriage/dp/0813540534
I don’t think so, though I didn’t run the calculations for your specific numbers. See below:
The doubling times of hCG are very short at the beginning of pregnancy and the rate decreases as hCG level increases. You can expect the following doubling times:
hCG under 1,200 mIU/ml: between 30 and 72 hours hCG between 1200-6000 mIU/ml: between 72 and 96 hours hCG over 6,000 mIU/ml: over 96 hours
I'm a huge fan of shows like Supernatural! It's not for everyone, but I really like it for some reason. My husband LOVES it. Of course, he has a lot of man crushes in that show, so there's that...hm...he has a lot of man-crushes anyway. Haha.
One of my hobbies is to (very slowly) learn some programming languages! Code Academy is a good site to start at if you're interested in that stuff. But don't tell my husband - he's the programmer here and if he knew that I was learning any programming, he'd want to talk about it and I don't know enough to keep up with him yet. ;)
Today felt like a roller coaster. Had a nice day out with my husband visiting a mall in another city, and even got new Joy Cons as an early birthday present (my birthday is at the end of the month)! Yay! We still had some gluten free pizza in the freezer, so decided to watch a movie and eat pizza. He had been pestering me about wanting to watch Jupiter Ascending for a while and I didn't know anything about the movie, so I agreed. Boy, was that a mistake. It opens with a very pregnant lady and her partner hugging and talking to her belly, after a violent scene proceeds with the birth, and after another few minutes paints an egg retrieval full of horror. That scene made me panic really bad, so we shut the film down instantly. I did not expect this, at all! 🤮
To calm down, I decided to knit something from my favorite knitting book Knits for Kitties (amazon link). The mouse I made is a little misshapen, but I stuffed it with lots of catnip and Phoebe loves it, so I'm happy. 🥰
I love my job and have the same problem (including not having anyone looking over my shoulder). The only thing I really do is try to make sure I'm very productive in the times that I can motivate myself. Usually I work best in the a.m. so I try to make sure I don't have any meetings etc. that would prevent me from concentrating then. I also have little rituals, e.g. latte in the a.m. (https://www.amazon.com/Pansonite-Detachable-Stainless-Cappuccino-Macchiato/dp/B092Z4VD6W/ref=sr_1_6 :D), some chocolate in the p.m., which I don't allow myself to eat unless I'm working.
Second time this week this has been on Yahoo ... "My son had his first birthday in prison," a story about women who are convicted to prison and have infants, but apparently instead of making them leave the baby at home (because I thought prison was supposed to actually be a punishment) they just get to bring them to prison and don't have shitty cells, but have nurseries. What the actual fuck? I am a law abiding citizen but I can't have a baby, but these fucking criminals can, and they get to spend 24/7 with them (instead of having to go back to work after maternity leave like a normal person) and it's on my dime as a taxpayer? There is no justice whatsoever in this world.

Go to this link. I think it’s a really positive sign that others have suggested it. In a non fertility related matter, My friends mother went to Mayo when no doctor figure out why she was always sick to her stomach. They did every test under the sun other and Mayo figured out she had some weird dormant immune disease.
I believe it’s a positive sign if others are recommending it :-) Nothing is too weird, different or challenging for them!
Looks like they have multiple locations in case flying to MN headquarters is not financially feasible.
Just saw beta #2! I think it's good! Doubling time of 54 hours, which is well within range. As betas get higher, the doubling time gets longer - e.g., this site (https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/hcg-levels) says that you'd be looking at a doubling time of 72-96 hours.
The Beta Base gives a faster doubling time for this range, but their methodology sucks - they take the doubling time between any two betas (A and B), no matter how far apart, and then include that doubling time in every HCG range that A and B span. So they assume a constant doubling rate between A and B, which is not at all true when A and B are relatively far apart. Most people aren't having betas checked two days apart at the equivalent of your dates (17 and 19 dpo), so the "normal" doubling rate quoted for that window is likely an average doubling rate taken from betas that were more than 48 hours apart.
I was so annoyed by this with my own betas measured at maybe 20 and 22dp5dt that I emailed the Beta Base to complain, and they agreed with me. They said they'd try to fix it, but they're a volunteer effort and so far it hasn't happened.
So in summary, I think your betas are good news and I'm optimistic for you!
I ran across this article this afternoon and it resonated with me. It's not infertility related, but I can see a lot of this experience in it: https://getpocket.com/explore/item/what-to-do-when-you-re-feeling-lost

The toys where there's a ball to bat around are pretty great if he's inquisitive! Izzy loved this one as a kitten, although apparently as an adult she got it stuck on her head and was wandering around with it like a goob. Mr. Image didn't take a photo though and I will never forgive him.
And then something like this one, which Amazon doesn't appear to have at a reasonable price, cause they're like $10 at the store usually.
Ekouaer Bikini Panties! SO comfortable and reasonably attractive.
They sell it at my grocery store but Amazon has it too. I’m actually about to go make myself a cup now... Perforation is the biggest risk. I read this book: How to Prepare the Endometrium to Maximize Implantation Rates and IVF Success
It’s aimed at specialists so is pretty heavy (I’m a doctor). It presents the evidence and there is a chapter on hysteroscopies that says basically don’t do it unless there is a reason to do it. Ultrasounds can miss abnormalities but a saline scan or HSG should flag most issues up.
I had a normal HSG but consistently had thin lining at the bottom of my uterus and light periods, so I went for the HSG and there were adhesions in my cervix. I guess in my case there was a reason to go ahead with the hysteroscopy as we had no explanation for the lower uterus issue.
Biggest thing, is that I get wheelchair service. I have PCOS and get a lot of follicles and my ovaries touch and it’s gross and uncomfortable. But having assistance in the airport to get through security, etc. was really helpful. My partner didn’t travel with me for any of my retrievals or transfers, it just wasn’t financially feasible. I also love these heat packs that I’ll link for post retrieval on the plane, hotel... the hotels I stayed at had shuttles that picked me up from the airport and that took me to my clinic so I didn’t have to worry about driving.

I’m so sorry, that’s a heavy weight to bear. Our old dog was sick with congestive heart failure for over a year before he passed and needed multiple pills a day. I bought a pill syringe and it helped a lot because I could get the pill deep into his throat without being bitten or having him spit it out. The limbo of being so grateful they’re still with you but knowing time is limited is a very difficult way to live… be kind to yourself.

We’re going to make a lamb shoulder recipe from my very favorite cookbook! Nothing Fancy I’m pretty excited to try it!
Why must egg retrieval periods be so terrible?! My first one was terrible, the second one was followed by a failed fresh transfer and wasn’t bad at all which confuses the shit out of me. Annnnnd we have number three that is from hell.... Percocet for the win today! Also, I’m obsessed with these for post egg retrieval and they stay hot for 24 hours, highly recommend!! K.S. I used to work in an orthopedic department and the surgeons there used markers like these! As for the sharpie, I assume it's fine (although I relate to being paranoid about putting anything "bad" on the skin...) https://www.amazon.com/Surgical-Markers-Stencil-Available-Different/dp/B007O0F8VU/ref=sr\_1\_3?\_encoding=UTF8&c=ts&dchild=1&keywords=Medical+Skin+Markers&qid=1628357202&s=industrial&sr=1-3&ts\_id=8297508011
I saw this on a deal website (not affiliated) and I'm wondering if this would be a good purchase for post-ER? $12 for a 12-pack
I was up all night reading CATALOGUE BABY. Oh my lord. Tears streaming down my face in bed. I really really enjoyed it. Super raw, real, relatable. It isn’t a cutesy book, and though there is a happy ending, it’s barely mentioned since the focus of the book is this woman’s incredibly difficult and long journey. It’s written in the form of a comic book, which was super unique and made it easy to read. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been minimally icing before hand with these little circular hot/cold packs from Amazon. They’re round and can be microwaved for after the shot. Highly recommend 👍🏻

Just got back from 3rd IUI, asked the doc again if they could prescribe me progesterone, it was a no :/. My level seems fine but on the low side, 10.4 ng/mL 7DPO (no medication); 14.4 ng/mL 7DPO (clomid and trigger). I can’t help but think maybe my TW: CP might be due to my progesterone level (BBT dropped a day before I saw a positive test). So I’m curious whether I can use over the counter progesterone? This one has 20 mg per pump (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013OXGNU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_98QTH0R2BHT8FNBCRSBX?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) Not sure what dosage I should aim for?
