The fog lights are 9006/HB4. I specifically got these:
I can post pics of how they look with the headlights tonight once it gets dark if there’s any interest.
So I am not sure. As the manual for the 2013 Optima says this:
> API Service SM*3, ILSAC GF-4 or above
I did 15 minutes of googling... and the best I can tell is it means 0w-20 / 0w-30 / 5w-20 / 5w-30 / 10w-30
Some more googling revealed that the cheapest of Normal engine oils exceed these requirements.
This one on amazon is API SN (which is better than API SM) And ILSAC GF-5 (Which is better than GF-4)
So what I am saying is... according to what little I just learned in 15 minutes... Your car can take the cheapest shit you can find as long as it meets one of those requirements.
technically a synthetic rated GF-4 would work worse than a normal oil rated GF-5 from what I have read.
I say wait for someone with more knowledge to respond than me. But if it was me. I would have no issues going with Regular Oil.
Heck maybe even try to get Kia corporate on the phone. or call a few KIA dealerships shops and ask.
If they offered you a special GDI service, then what you're after is CRC GDI Cleaner.

Check the UVO website to see if they have an update for your car. It looks like per this page https://www.android.com/auto/kia/ that the 2015 Soul should support Android Auto. My mom's Elantra does not have navigation but navigation works via Android Auto.
I’ve been looking into trying to make my own scroll and select functionality similar to the combined scroll/button control Audi uses for their media system. So far, I’ve found a few Bluetooth buttons/dials.
One of the best looking options, O6, is a pricey $99. That gets me closer to the Audi scroll-button control, but I’m not quite comfortable with that price considering they’re reporting a current compatibility issue with Siri.
There are buttons called Flic that are small, low powered sticky buttons that let you map three actions to a number of functions and apps: press, double press and press-and-hold. One button is about $35 and you can get 4 at $99.
There are other cheaper Bluetooth remote style devices that look like keyfobs that have pause/play and clip to steering wheels, but they reproduce a lot of controls I already have on my Niro steering wheel.
I’m curious about Flic and might end up getting one to see how it works, so I’ll follow up if I do. If pause/play is the only real function I can quickly add, I can stick the button somewhere on the side of the steering column so I don’t move my hand too far away from the wheel while driving.
That said, Apple could end up adding an onscreen pause/play button to CarPlay in the future, but they tend to defer to the car manufacturers for those types of media controls. (I don’t know of many cars that actually have physical pause/play buttons on the steering wheel.)

I’ve used that interior cleaner a couple of times and so far so good. I’d just stay way from the screen and the silver trims (I had another kia a few years ago and they started to fade).
Plastic and seats so far so good. Of course, don’t go crazy with how much you use on it. A little bit is fine. Use it mostly on the dashboard to protect from UV.
Try to stick with well known brands such as Meguiar, Chemical Guys and Mothers.
Someone suggested these to me in a Seltos group on Facebook. It's the ones they have. And they have a basket as well.

It depends on how fast you need to charge.
Do your frequently go out once then return home for several hours or longer ? In that case a low cost 16A / 3.8KW charger would work fine, probably a full recharge would be around 4 hours or less. I got this charger for our Kia Niro PHEV for $149 (like new / open box) from amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079NTXNK7/

Or pay a little more for a 32A 7KW charger to cut the charging time to around 2 hours. Install would cost more for a 40A or 50A circuit vs a 20A. Going over a 32A charger isn't necessary since that's the cars max charge rate, you could install a 40 or 50A unit but the charge speed would be the same. Unless you wanted to buy a full EV later, then you could keep using that same charger and get good charging speeds.

Those are usually called just "Center Caps"
If the week is OEM these should fit
They are usually a standard size, these look identical to the ones on my 2017 Optima, should match well with your black rims

One of the steps is wrong in the PDF. You have to connect the wire to the back side of one of the fuse blocks which is the harder one to get to. The diagram at the end of the PDF tells you the wrong wire, the step by step instructions tell you the correct wire.

This one does not have the Homelink buttons but the same exact mirror with Homelink garage buttons and compass was $250 when I was looking to buy. That's $100 less than the Kia one and essentially exactly the same.
This is the one I have. They can get through it with an angle grinder or saw through your steering wheel but that’s if they have those tools with them. It’ll stop someone who’s just showing up looking for a quick hotwire.

Is that the one you are using? I thought about it but a video I saw of someone using a similar dongle it looked super laggy so I hadn't picked one up yet.
The manual for the car said it was recommended to use level 2 charging for the battery health, so that is why I got one. https://i.imgur.com/48YDvkX.png is a picture from their manual pdf.
I was super annoyed that this car doesn't have wireless AA/CP. It wasn't a deal-breaker by any means, but what is the point of having a wireless charging pad as well if you still have to plug in your phone? My old car had it and it was easy and nice as heck.
I wonder if you unplug your wireless AA device if it would connect to bluetooth. I think they way it works is when your BT connects or finds it then it loads AA, so I would bet we have the same issue.

I have the ottocast running in my Niro. Works really well.

I don't know what bulb size is on the Forte but we put these on our Niro and they have been great. Much brighter cleaner light than halogen and perfect beam control with no stay light spilling outside the pattern.
Although not fully recommended many people do use an extension cord. Use an extension cord if you get one rated for it, like a 12 gauge 25ft would work. You can also adjust the charging current with a button on the back of the charger, I think 8/10/12 amps if your worried about it pulling too much power. I used one for a month or two when we got our Niro PHEV before I put in a 220V outlet and a small L2 charger.
Or you can get a cheap charger on amazon, just picked on at random. It's under $200 and is 25ft in length. Also it's adjustable from 8-16A. Although a standard 110V plug is only rated for 15A so using the full 16A charge rate on it may not be a good for the long term.

I bought these temporarily. Mats were not an option when I ordered my Sportage, and the dealer told me that they would not be available accessories until mid-July.
I'm not a fan of these and particularly don't have any of these but I have seen them around the internet since these mofos wanna track my cookies and my conversations so much.
This is a cup holder phone mount.
I personally dislike these since they sit so low- roughly knee height because that's where the phone holder is in the '21 and '22 Sorento. What I use personally is this bad boy though:

If you want to do it sooner than waiting, see if you can find some sort of round tubing that's the right diameter for the tag bolts (bic pen tubing for example. Might be too small but you get the idea). You should be able to trim the spacers with a razor so you get the desired fit.
Remove tag, put spacers behind tag, run bolts through. You may end up needing longer tag bolts, but any AutoZone should have those.

I have a 21 SX Prestige X-line with windows tinted that you can check out in the link below. My paint finish is holding up pretty good without any ceramic coat but it did come with the subpar Zurich shield that kia put on.
If you're looking into a quality ceramic coat, You might as well look at vinyl wraps as well. It wouldn't be much more and would provide some decent protection and give you a lot of choices.
Also Motorola makes a wireless android auto apple carplay adapter link below. It's out of stock many places everywhere so it's selling for over retail, but if you find the wired that annoying it might be worth it. There are zero issues with lag - a button clicked on the steering wheel to advance a track or whatever happens just like its supposed to. Same with any input on the touch screen. No dropped/fuzzy signals on the screen or audio.
One slight complaint is that if the phone hasn't been paired with CarPlay box recently, it takes about ~30 seconds for it to do its connection thing. So I see on the Kia screen its looking for the phone, found the phone, connecting, etc. But 30 seconds later its full blown CarPlay. I would suspect that something similar, perhaps not as long, but similar happens with regular CarPlay as well.
I do notice however, it only seems do that once day. So the initial hop into the car will have all of that, but if I get out to eat and come back 10 min later, it just instantly connects back to CarPlay.
I'm waiting for a '22 Rio S w/tech package, which has the wireless Android Auto, but no wireless charging. It has the little cubby shelf for the phone so I'm planning to get this and lay it in that space so I can just chuck the phone in there and not have to plug it in at all and still charge and use Android Auto both wirelessly
I know you posted this a year ago, but I have a 2012 Kia Sedona, and I found at speeds 45 MPH or more there was a lot of wind noise. The first thing to do is to start weather stripping your drivers side and passenger doors. Also weather strip the door frame. There are a lot of videos on weather stripping. Its really inexpensive, and I found it to reduce the wind noise coming from the door, especially at high speeds. Any D or B Shaped standard weather stripping. It is an adhesive that attaches. I went through four 36 foot rolls between both the drivers side door and passenger door alone but it really made a difference. If you want to take it a step further, you can remove the front and passenger door panel, and add sound deadening material. This will help any noise. If you decide to take off the door panel, you will be able to better see if there are any gaps in that corner piece above the door panel.
This is what I bought and it worked great. B Weather Stripping . I still hear a little noise coming from the side mirror at 65 MPH but there is not nearly as much wind noise in general, and I haven't even added the sound deadening material by taking off the door panel or putting any sound deadening material under the hood that is heat resistant.
The reality is what separates a luxury noise reduction vs a a regular car is the amount of weather stripping and sound deadening materials that come installed on the car from the factory. Hope this helps.
There are mounts/holders available with built in wireless charging.

Amazon. lipIt’s a poly propylene compound in gloss black they also have carbon fiber and matte black. They sell on the kiaoptimastore.com or whatever some kind of carbon fiber one that I’m sure is very high-quality but you still have to drill through the actual lip itself into the lower valance. And the higher quality one cost 750 bucks and is me from real carbon fiber. you think for that kind of price it would use the factory pop clips underneath. I have a polypropylene lip on my wife’s WRX. And she’s scraped it on curbs and our driveway several times and it’s held up very well hasn’t broken hasn’t even shifted. With the provided screws I added washers and drove them through the pre-drilled holes and it lines up really well. And best of all it only cost me $70 shipped. It looks fantastic and I’ve already gotten a bunch of compliments. cheers. I sincerely hope you buy one.
Idk if your battery is covered under warranty but batteries can go bad, I’ve had to change a battery in less than 2 years. Some factors include luck, cold weather, if it’s been allowed to go dead one or multiple times. If the dealership is not convenient the easiest thing to do would be bring it to autozone or similar as others have said. They will test your battery and install if you purchase a new one from them. You can also buy an inexpensive battery tester and test it yourself here.
You attach the cables and press the button which puts a resistive load on the battery. The needle will show green yellow or red. Very easy to use and helpful to confirm if your electrical problem is the battery or something trickier (it’s usually the battery).

Traded in my 2012 Optima SX Turbo for a 2016 Sorento SXL V6 AWD earlier this year. Loved my Optima but really wanted peace of mind of AWD and the convenience of Adaptive Cruise. Have a couple of minor quibbles but I'm quite pleased.
The Sorento has won many awards and praise (Consumer Reports' top midsized SUV). I'm not sure why people would be so down on Kia. They've made great strides in quality and dependability. The '16 Sorento's predicted reliability from CR is better than average and Kia just won JD Power's Initial Quality Study.

What's annoying about wired carplay is that only 1 of the 2 usbs can be used and it's the middle one, making it more annoying to keep the phone there if you have a short usb cable specifically for carplay.
The 2022 GT does not have wireless carplay. I'm going to try out one of these adapters from Amazon though and see if it works tomorrow. https://www.amazon.com/Carlinkit-Wireless-CarPlay-Adapter-Factory/dp/B08P1GWQDB/ref=sr_1_3?crid=QR7D0SXXA8WR&keywords=wireless+apple+carplay&qid=1640393460&smid=A1EE5VCGDAEB07&sprefix=wireless+apple+carplay%2Caps%2C328&sr=8-3
Yes, the sensors will be on the underside, sticking out of the exhaust pipe, usually forward of the middle of the vehicle. They will have wires sticking out and look similar to this
https://www.amazon.com/Denso-234-4261-Oxygen-Sensor/dp/B0016NBBQW
The connection may be located anywhere along the length of the wire, and they usually connect near the front or rear of the engine bay, near the engine. Though again it can connect anywhere along the wire between the sensor and the engine bay. Sometime the wire runs through the passenger compartment, this is not super common though, but if you see the wire go through the floor, you'll know it runs through the passenger compartment.
Post back if you are successful or if you need more help. Thx. :)
I swapped out my oem’s with these and the difference is huge. Not only are they much brighter but they are an almost pure white light, so they look like led’s or xenon’s. BUT, just know that the cost of running these bulbs is they don’t last very long. Probably about a year. For some people that’s a deal breaker, not for me I’d change them every 6 months for the improved lighting, but that’s me.

iOttie Easy One Touch 5. I have mine mounted to the dashboard of my car using the included dashboard pad so the dashboard won't get damaged. It installs just as easily to the windshield. There are plenty of reviews on that Amazon link.
Hey bro I’m in same boat as you wanna get a sx, based on the info you got , is this a good buy for me ? : https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1384761078350697/
It’s a Optima 2012 with 130k miles but the engine just got replaced by Kia
Hell yeah. What I love to see here!
I bought mine with 7 miles and I'm at 1.7k now. I swear there's a extra hop in my step ever since buying this car. Constant compliments. The amber bolt headlights never get old to me. People ask questions everytime I get out my car from parking. I have yet to see another k5 on my morning drive home from work (graveyard shift) which is crazy to me with a fwy as big as the California 405. Loving it though, feels good to finally have a nice car and not another hand me down beater like all my previous. Toyota, Nissan, a 15' Kia Optima. Nah. Never loved anyone of those, just a cheap option to get me to work was my only focus. Now I look for any reason to drive whenever other opportunities come up even if our gas rates are stupid as hell right now.
Word of advice though, get yourself some extra security. Kia's are super easy to steal with a little handheld computer.
Yup!

Also get these for your license plate lights, you'll thank me later with the now all clean LED look front to back for an EX :) Also good to have spares for interior bulbs.
Yup! Got these, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08S36NZJK?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
For Low and High. Easy as pie install, just watch YT video, as you will have to remove to nuts to move the coolant tank for left side. Also, have small hands!
Been happy with them ever since! The High ones are like fucking nuclear beams!
Thanks. In my Forte I only have the low beams and fog lights switched over to LED. The Cougar bulbs I bought for the high beams didn't fit. The stock bulbs have a metal ring tab thing that turns and locks the bulb in with the plug. Even ordered the adapter rings and they wouldn't hold them.
I did find these bulbs that match the stock bulb design. Just haven't had the motivation to order them. Eventually will though. I got these for my sportage and it works fine (got 52inch version) https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GA2HKAU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Used it for a kayak and some other things.
It sits slightly up on the side rails as it cannot clamp underneath them if that makes sense.
Yes, this is the one I'll be purchasing because it supports up to 32A so it's slightly future proof. The Sorento has an on board charger that limits the level 2 charge so no fear in damaging the battery. You'll need an electrician to install the correct plug to an available slot in your breaker box. I found that I needed to turn on the USB accessories toggle in the iPhone settings to ensure it works always without having to unlock the iPhone. Settings/FaceTime Passcode/USB Accessories (turn on)
The car, we are loving it aside from an odd/unexpected thing in that the radiator fan sometimes runs for 40+ minutes after the car is off.
The wireless CarPlay adapter, we love it but I did have to make sure my iPhone setting allowed USB accessories to work without unlocking the phone. Sometimes for some reason that was a problem. We use this:

Thanks, I've ordered a bluetooth to aux adapter https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B096RXQYQG/?coliid=I34KM94F15KU1U&colid=175CZ57JQ3RMT&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_ it should cover my needs, would have loved bluetooth commands on steering wheel like the ex and sx trim offers on this model, but for the price I paid for the LX I've got, I can live without, most annoying thing after a 10 days of use of this car, is, the lack of power windows and powerlocks and keyless entry, we get so addicted to just press a button on a remote to unlock our doors, we don't realize it till we get a car that doesn't have this option, but this car isn't going to be a forever thing for me.
Buy this cable. I've had it for about two years now. Used it in my 18 Sonata and now in my 21 Forte and have the other cable in our 20 Telluride. No issues. I've recommended to others who have this problem and they all have positive results.

This but it’s kinda pricey. Can’t vouch that it works for sure but I’ve seen articles on it. I think it’s a different model from the previous link posted
I'm not sure if something like this would work for you... I've only seen them.. I haven't used one.. Perhaps look into these.

I went with the OEM ones - snagged them on Amazon years ago for ~$250. Not that much cheaper than what the dealer quoted, but they're easy enough to install by yourself
I bought and use this one with my 2019 forte.

Works fine thus far. I really only need to reconnect it once a week or so. Worth a shot possibly
I'm sure there will be car details gurus that will say otherwise, but I use a hybrid ceramic wax (cream).
A little goes a long way. One bottle has lasted me 4 applications and guessing it has another 4 left in the bottle.
It is mounted via suction cup the the flat surface to the right id the center console

Yeah honestly do a bit of research. Maybe you can change it a qaurt at a time or idk risk it lol. I'll link the video I used. Please make sure you get the right oil if you do! Either from thr dealer or the Valvoline MaxLife.

Here a good place to get the key. Bought my spare on Amazon and got it cut by a local locksmith. Good luck with finding seats tho that's hard especially on a new car year like 2017. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J65KTSM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_MjmrCbJDHZW6W
Oof, just thought of this. It might be a bit douchy, but it works.
Buy something like this off Amazon, and pay for like 1 day shipping.
Be extremely careful to use it to pull your locks off, careful not to damage it. Return to Amazon saying it didn't work as described. Get a full refund.
For sure

I can't find the bulbs they bought on eBay to confirm, but some vehicles require LED bulbs containing extra electronics to not throw CANbus errors. Your Sylvania bulbs don't say anything about it and triggering your check light warning so I assume this is the issue. Here's a link to random CANbus error free bulbs on Amazon. You have the right size, you just need the bulbs that won't error. Here's an article about the issue.
