I'm teaching on a mentor site called iTalki. Doing 1on1 lessons on Skype. There are 1-2 other native icelandic teachers, I recommend checking them out as well.
http://icelandiconline.is/ also has a mentoring program with people from the University of Iceland. Don't know much about it though. But of course I am the best of all. That's what my mom says at least :þ.
EDIT: Pretty sure there aren't any programs out there to learn icelandic.
Hæ. There are a couple mistakes in the list:
to be : að vera - ég er
to do : að gera - ég geri
to make is the same as to do.
to cook : að elda - ég elda
to read : að lesa - ég les
to know : að veita - ég veit
to see : að sjá - ég sé
to go : að fara - ég fer
to learn : að læra - ég læri
In a sentence there doesn't necessarily have to be an 'að' before a verb, but it's used for the present continuous (+ verb in infinitive):
I am going - Ég er að fara

I can add another Icelandic movie that I personally transcribed by listening carefully to the audio and dialogue. The movie is called: Hrútar (2015) [English translation of the title: Rams (2015)] This movie is highly recommended and the quality of the transcription is excellent. :)
The subtitle can be found here as an srt text file. It can be used in applications such as the popular VLC player, including various other ones as well.
I don't know if you can find the movie on torrents but I know it can be found on Usenet. The release is called Rams.2015.LIMITED.BDRip.x264-BiPOLAR
This is a very entertaining movie that takes place in a small farm community in rural Iceland.
This is probably going to come back and bite my on the ass when people start going through my history o_O but thanks for the shout-out!
If you might be interested in signing up I would appreciate if you could use my referral link: http://www.italki.com/user/1722884?ref=1722884 (results in a few bucks coming my way). Feel free to send me any questions you might have here or on iTalki, I'll try to reply asap.
EDIT: I just remembered one that could be used: ["Hoppaðu í rassgatið á þér!" = Jump inside your own asshole!]. And one more used by older generations: ["Karlfauskur" = old geezer] most often with Andskotans/Helvítis/Djöfulsins in front. Also a fairly popular but relatively sarcastic english take word: ["Móðurserðir" = Motherfucker].
EDIT2: Is this the first link in this sub-reddit that qualifies as nsfw? Congratulation /u/u2622 ! :P
There are a few books that help. I only know German books but I'm sure there are some Spanish or at least English books as well. Mímir is a good grammar reference. Dict.cc has a good icelandic dictionary. There are some Anki dictionaries that help. But I don't know about any comprehensive online course. Pronunciation is difficult in my estimation, because Icelanders mumble a lot.
Hi everyone, I made this deck using content from wikitravel and I thought you might find it useful. Unfortunately there is currently no audio, but most words have at least an attempt at a pronunciation guide. Please let me know if you find this useful, find mistakes, or otherwise have comments!
Why not just use Icelandic runes. As seen in the Huld manuscript which is based on older manuscripts. They are called ''Málrúnir'' in Icelandic. http://handrit.is/en/manuscript/imaging/is/IB04-0383#0000r-FB http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1040352 If you want to go with something that looks like some viking in Iceland made it, you may be better of using runes found on rune carvings both in Iceland and Greenland that are around 1000 years old or older.
There are not that many Icelandic podcast that I know of but there is one called 'Grínistar Hringborðins' or 'Comedians of the round table', where popular comedian and actor Þorsteinn Guðmundsson has his comedian friends come over and talk about just whatever. They quit the podcast a few years ago though
Since there is some mention on tutoring I hope the self-promotion isn't out of order: My iTalki tutoring site. But also if you just want answers to quick questions you can send me a message here or on iTalki.
I am a native teaching on italki.com (referral link, I hope you can forgive the videocringe).
You can also send me messages there and I'll do what I can to help. I'll also try to be active here as much as possible.
>I'd say my biggest weakness is my lack of vocabulary and no one to practice with.
Have you heard of an app called Drops? They have an Icelandic course however instead of teaching sentence structure and grammar it is purely lots of vocab and their pronounciation. The only downside is you only get 5 minutes for free every 10 hours.
I'm also working with Memrise
They have Web and Android/iOS apps to download, huge contents and nice ways to learn. Very didactic and easy to use. I use it every free time (bus travels, lunch time, restroom, before bedtime...).
I have found very good tutorials in my way (Spanish/Íslensku) so i recommend you this one.
Edit: nice nick, Dune related one?
Which country are you selecting to use a server in with your VPN? That error message means you're not streaming in a country that has access. Not all VPNs have access to Icelandic servers.
I've used NordVPN in the past and have been able to watch anything on RÚV with it!
This might be easier than you´re asking for, but I heard about this other book: "Árstíðir: Sögur á einföldu máli" that is aimed at Icelandic learners.
