I love your journaling analysis, I think it's so important to acknowledge your small daily accomplishments when it comes to the bigger picture!
also meditate using the Breathe app since it provides a metronome and visual breathing line for breathing in, holding, and breathing out. Sometimes I rely on listening to my dog's breathing to help slow mine when I feel panicked.
In terms of exercise for myself, I've made a commitment to walk at least 1 mile every day with my dog & I use the MapmyWalk app by Under Amour to track my distance. I agree that it's extremely noticable how much exercise affects my mental health when I'm unable to take my walk.
I am sure it will work for you too! I rarely hear about them not working for people. I would have started using one years ago if I would have known how well it would work for me. The one we have has glass beads in it so it runs a little cooler which is nice for me as I run hot when I sleep. My girlfriend runs cold when she sleeps so sometimes we put the weighted blanket on top of the other blankets. This way she still gets the weight sensations without the direct skin to skin contact.

I take 7.5mg normally and up my dose to 8.75mg for 2 weeks before period. I get the 5mg pills so I can easily split them. This is the best pill cutter ever and you can split a 5mg pill into 4! EqualSplit Pill Splitter, Double... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MH6XTL7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I happened to have one of there https://www.amazon.fr/SPEEDWOX-Diagonal-Electronic-Scissors-Precision/dp/B07GS2S4B5 and never worried about it.
I've been on Lexapro for 15 months, on 20mg for 9 months, and the fatigue never really went away for me, not without intervention. What works for me is taking it with breakfast, then sitting in front of a sun lamp (at full brightness) for about 20 minutes before starting my day, or while eating etc, and taking vitamin D with breakfast, and magnesium right before bed. All that together makes it so I'm actually awake during the day. Before I started that routine about 6/7 months ago, I was half asleep by 3pm. Some days I get lazy and skip my routine, and I feel it. Oh do I feel it.
Awww, my sympathies for the rashes and the weight. Wellbutrin gave me the most irritating of itches, but I take Claritin and it fixes it. Three things helped me when Lex mellowed me up and didn’t give me motivation : running in place to get pumped up, caffeine pills, and this jitterless coffee.
So obviously I’m not a doctor but I’m happy to share my experience.
I was on 10 mg for about 6 months. I noticed it made me feel emotionally blunted and not like myself so I decided to taper down. I started with tapering down to 7.5 mg for 2 weeks and now I’ve been on 5 mg for a few weeks. I didn’t have any withdrawals. You’ve been on it for 4 years so you might need to taper even slower and stay in a low dose for a little while before trying to come off completely.
I use this pill cutter and it works really well to cut in halves and quarters.

I strongly encourage you to share your story, especially the suicidal ideations part with the r/microdosing/ community. I'm no doctor, far from it, but being open and honest on there, you'll hopefully find a few others who have similar experiences and or concerns. I worry about the long-term effects of TBI. Have you looked into Saint Jons Wort? I did Microdose for about 5-months, but after one good trip (only a gram) I lost the need for the MD. I use this to keep me not hating everyone and everything around me. It helps. Seriously! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077L3PF94/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are many out there but I get this one.
Has L-Theanine which takes the edge off of the jittery feeling.
Sure thing! This is the one I use
Hello fellow anxious artist :) Lexapro helped me a lot with my anxiety, but it didn't help me get back into the habit of painting. I have so many bad habits from being depressed for YEARS. But I'm trying to work through it. I cannot rec this enough to other artists... sometimes I just play it in the background when I sit in my studio: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Fire-Clarissa-Pinkola-Est%C3%A9s/dp/1591793874
Basically it helps you to not feel bad about the days where you're not productive. It's only in audio, and her voice is soooo soothing and comforting.
I take it in the morning because it was giving me insomnia when I took it at night. Since starting it in the morning, I've become a light sleeper also ugh
These are the things I do/use to help me: - Hung black out blinds in my bedroom - I fully stopped drinking all caffeine and if I'm really tired I drink ice water instead. The chill wakes me up! - I go for a 1hr walk before going to bed - I meditate for 5-10 minutes in bed - Then drink a cup of chamomille tea - I add a couple of drops of lavender oil on my pillow - I put on these a-ma-zing ear plugs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00284DIPK/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_VS2RN545BNHT5B2FZ75B to deal with mute partner's snoring. - Also wear a blackout sleep mask like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DSNDFJS/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_VEX3H4214Q0AR1NEX492
It's not a perfect science, but at least I don’t wake up as many times at night, and when I do, falling back to sleep is easier. Hope some of these ideas help you!
Get a pill cutter... here is mine!
+1 to this advice. Some of the pill organizaers have separate slots for AM and PM. Cost me about $10 on Amazon. Yes, only certain forms of magnesium have that affect. I take it because I also have ADHD and people with that have lover magnesium levels in general, and magnesium supplements can help with that and anxiety as well. I haven’t experienced any laxative affect. This is the one that I take: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BHV7J9U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_BEZ8YP3SYGAX6RHTPQ1J

It does split the 10 mg into four 2.5mg very well
Headspace is an app that offers easy to follow guided meditation focused on mindfulness. It’s been a big help for my anxiety over the years.
I have a journal where I rate my overall mood, energy, appetite, how I’m feeling physically, motivation, hours of sleep, and sleep quality. I usually rate those things x/10 and then have a place for journaling at the bottom. I use Notion to keep them in one place and it’s really been useful for my therapy appointments! Here’s a link to the Notion template I made for it: Mood Tracker
I also found that the app Daylio (I have it on iOS) has been useful to link certain activities with certain moods! Good luck with your journey!
30mcg of b12 and 5mg of b6.
LPT: get a weekly pill organizer so you don't run into that situation again. You can pick them up cheap at Walgreens or wherever.
SSRIs can make you sleepy. What time of the day are you taking the medication? Maybe try a different time for a week or two.
I do also have more trouble getting up in the morning. I personally use Sleep Cycle to help me wake up at an optimal time.
What's most important about sleep is creating habits. If you have a consistent schedule, try to keep the habit and your body will eventually do it without having to force yourself up.
I've been on it for 3 years and gained about 30 lbs. Over the last couple months I've lost 15 lbs. If your serious about losing it, this is what you do:
Portion control and calorie restriction. Eat 3 reasonably portioned meals a day and use an app to track your calories. Drink LOTS of water. Get a cheap 48 oz water bottle and drink 2 bottles throughout the day. Drink whenever you feel hungry and it's not time for a meal. It will fill your stomach and it's what your body needs anyhow.
I still don't eat great and my exercise is mostly unchanged. It's calories in - calories out.
I woke up a few times a week with a panic attack unlike my “real” panic attacks I was able to fall back asleep quickly. This went on for about the first 6 weeks of Lexapro and stopped. My psych said it was normal. I used to have a lot of health anxiety and just having one of these around helped calm me down.
Before I started on the meds, I was adamantly against them because of past experiences, dropping what I was doing and going for a walk helped.
I know that’s not always an option depending on your work environment. These things also helped me a whole lot over the past few years - they’re a natural remedy (I’m not a crazy loon or anything, might be a placebo effect type deal) but they’re inexpensive and worth a shot to help you through those few hours.

It's hard to do so. But it's so important!
This book I like is mostly about women (thinking you're female but not wanting to assume), but this book really opened my eyes about some of my own stuff. I only mention it as we're all different and it's a GOOD thing, even if society seems to have a narrow range of what's OK. I added the link to Amazon cause it's easier to find (I don't get money for it or credit or anything). I hope that's not overstepping but it was helpful for me in some key ways.
It's called "Divergent Mind: Thriving in a World That Wasn't Designed for You" by Jenara Nerenberg.

Hi, I’m on 5 mg of Lexapro and have been for about a year and a half. I felt nauseous and depressed the first couple weeks I took it as well. It took about 8-10 weeks for it to fully balance out in my system, but since then I have seen a definitive improvement in my anxiety. If you can, do your best to wait it out, and then try a cognitive behavioral therapy program to work through your anxiety. If you keep upping your dosage, the anxiety will be gone, but you won’t work through the fear behind your anxiety, thus disallowing you from ever getting off the medication. I use The Anxiety and Worry Workbook
Go slow and at your own pace because it is a process and you may not feel comfortable going through the extra work of journaling yet. My therapist recommended it to me as my anxiety can get so bad to the point where I throw up from anxiety attacks because my fears are so deep-rooted and automatic.
Sources: I have a degree in psychology and have been on Lexapro and in therapy for about 1.5-2 years now.
This happened to me when covid started too. I started getting brain zaps after 3ish days. I bought timercaps and I haven't missed a day in over a year. Good luck to ya
I was able to get this pill cutter from amazon that mostly fixed that for me. It doesn't cut them perfect but it rarely crumbles them, at least. I've had mine for about a year and it's getting a bit dull now but 1 year is really not that bad.
This thing is a life saver- especially when tapering doses. I like that you can take the individual days out, it's perfect for work or sleeping out. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q6PG3QY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_V4JW0H1K6TY86A69MJJQ
There is a special cap you can get for your pill bottles that has a timmer on it, it will tell you how long since the bottle was last opened so you know when your last pill was taken. My pharmacist recommended it to me for my ADHD meds just in case I accidentally double-dose myself, which is a huge problem with ADHD because sometimes you take your meds twice because your brain just can't retain that one item of information for whatever reason that morning.
I also use a pill organizer, but I don't have to take all my meds every day if I don't want to, just the SSRI. Stimulant meds for ADHD are an "as need" medication so if I don't need to focus that day or I just want a break day from the side effects, I can do that! Problem is that it leads to meds being left in my container, and then I get confused sometimes about the day and sit here worrying that I double dosed myself. Thankfully, it's only happened once, and I have never had a cleaner bathroom because of it!
I got this one and I love it.
Simple Being Weighted Blanket, Patented 9 Layer Design, 48x72 12lb, Seafoam Green
The one we have is a 60" x 80" 20LB and it was $50. Its amazing! The blanket does run cool though. So if you run hot while you sleep, it works great. If you run cold when you sleep, I recommend putting the weighted blanket on top of your existing blankets. So you still get the weight sensation but not the direct skin to skin contact which may make you cold.

Why don’t you try a ice cap it’s meant for migraine sufferers I’ve used it before when I was constantly stiff and had terrible headaches. I was also taking Advil or Tylenol but sometimes it wouldn’t work and plus I hate taking meds. I’m about three months in and came here to say exactly this. Take it in the morning and you’ll be able to fall asleep, but not stay asleep. I found a sleeping supplement that is mostly ashwagandha and chamomile - it definitely helps, but I’m still not 100% back to sleeping soundly.
here is the product if anyone is interested.
