I have a version of The Silmarillion illustrated by him with big glossy pages, and it's quite nice work.
According to the information in A Tolkien Bestiary, krakens were one of many various evil beings spawned by Melkor when he first ruled out of Utumno, before even the Elves awoke. When he was defeated and chained, many of these things persished, but a few survived, and this particular kraken resided in some dark underwater place under the Misty Mountains for many Ages. When Moria's Dwarves were getting their asses kicked again, the Orcs found it and dammed the river outside Moria to create the lake we see in the movie for it to infest.
Here is a short article arguing exactly that. If you don’t want to pay for it, I may be able to find an electronic copy I can send you. I’m the author, so it’s cool.

There's lots of good making of info in this book. From what I recall he claims not to have been influenced by the Bakshi movie, but there are a lot of shot for shot similarities there.
This epic journey is brought to you by our friends over at NordVPN!
With fast and secure servers in over 40 different kingdoms across Middle Earth you can visit Mordor without ever leaving your hobbit hole.
More on them in a bit!
They're considered to be stronger than the Knight or Bishop, but a little weaker than the Rook. There's even a delightfully ridiculous attack call the Fried Fox Attack.

I screenshot and crop google images or whatever the source is. Then in that website I do the editing. It’s pretty user friendly for a mobile device and there are no watermarks.
I kind of use the book of quotes (https://www.amazon.com/Quotable-Lewis-Wayne-Martindale/dp/0842351159) in a similar way that one uses a sacred book. I am sure he would hate that, but the man had a peering eye into things that evade many of us. His words have helped me in very dark times, not unlike the light of Eärendil.
Yeah it’s the eyes/eyebrows combo. proof
In a similar vein, there is a book called The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break about a minotaur that lives alone in a trailer in the rural south and works at a crappy steakhouse. I believe Alton Brown mentioned it as his favorite book back when he had a podcast.

No, but Marvel has been pretty consistent with this detail about Super Soldiers across multiple mediums; the serum gives them near perfect memory recall.
As for the MCU version specifically, in the book The Wakanda Files that was released post Endgame, it outright states "His memory is near-photographic". So Marvel maintains that Super Soldiers have perfect or near perfect memories.
~~I don't think you can differentiate between versions on just watch.~~ I lied you can but the HBO is definitely just the theatrical and they're not streaming for free anywhere https://imgur.com/OICMUFn.jpg
/u/YouHaveSaggyTits if you're willing to pay you can purchase them to stream on Amazon (no renting unfortunately)
You can get all three on Blu-Ray for like $60 on Amazon.
Properly constructed chainmail will absolutely stop a stab. If you have riveted or welded links of sufficient wire gauge, no knife wielded by any human is going to make it through.
Note that the modern "slash resistant" mail e.g. of the type commonly found in butcher's gloves and so forth does not have sufficient wire diameter to be effective against a sufficiently motivated stab. That's an entirely different animal from medieval style chainmail, though.
Source: I have constructed several suits of real mail and tested them thoroughly. (And I spot weld my links.)
It was an exercise in turning LoTR fans into Amazon consumers. Watch The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime. Buy the Elven cook book from Amazons online store. Need a Halloween costume? Try Amazons Lord of the Rings costume line. Even if the show only makes enough money to cover the costs the merchandise sales will bring in the profit.

From what I understand 87% of fires in Australia are man made. That’s pretty incredible, even if it’s accidental like Cigarette butts out the window. Sure hope the country does something to educate the population on how to not cause 87% of fires
If you really consider the amazon tv show as canon to LOTR then more power to you but I kind of agree with you, the Gladerial is a bit of numpty - though The actress who is playing her is actually younger than Kate Blanchett when she made the first Lord of the Rings
I think you would like this book; its on amazon and pretty much aligns with your thoughts
City Of Woke: The Six-Part Anthology https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BG9194FP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_ZZ4JA2X4QBB0EW6G6M71
I’ve never understood the whole “sellout” thing. There’s nothing wrong with making money off of one’s work. If the price to pay for that money is the integrity of the product, then that’s a different issue, of course. However, I don’t understand when people get upset at YouTubers for being sponsored by NordVPN or whatever.
I don't know if this is your English teacher, but there is a book on this subject. <em>Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C. S. Lewis</em>, by Michael Ward.
u/kittywiggles, if you're interested as well, it's a great book.
imma recommend a product that made my life a bit better
There are a bunch of different ones but same idea product
Didn’t take it negatively! Just wanted to share that Barbie has put out some cool collectibles through the years. Here’s the exact one I have. Released in 1996.

Thank you! And for anyone else who is curious, I was finally able to find the CD version on Amazon with the additional information provided in this thread:
Thank you all!
Well, that depends on what version of the myth you're talking about. Apparently it goes back at least as far as 1920, when Chaplin was in the prime of his career. Other versions have it happening in 1975 in France. But as far as I know nobody has ever managed to confirm this happened, even though you'd think it would be a good enough story to make it to the newspapers, and it's suspicious that there are no other details about it. For example, what was the exact date it supposedly happened? And at what venue? Who was organizing the event? Who were the other contestants who "beat" Chaplin? These are the sort of things you'd expect to find easily if it had ever been reported by a reputable newspaper.
Here is the book from Lewis where he talks about his conversion. You should check it out if you are interested in learning about it.

I had an entire Music Composition class where the textbook was literally just about these films' score. It was insane to see how many motifs there were!
You can search for movies and TV and it'll show you all places it's streaming for free, as well as all the places you can rent it. I use it all the time and it's always been accurate.
Looks like they're on HBO Max and DirecTV for free at the moment.
My wife got me the illustrated version for Xmas and it’s fantastic. I can vouch for it being a cool product. Really, really unique. I love it.

I do hope too, becausee hardcopies of a game that is stuck in copyright limbo since the studio closing in 2009 are hard to come by.
There are also no online plattforms offering a digital edition of it. so hardcopies can be quite expensive
Well, actually that breach was anything major and it didn't affect users. Besides after that incident, they did some changes regarding security, you can read more info here https://nordvpn.com/blog/security-plan/
I remember years ago I had a really bad break up. You know, the kind of breakup that turns your life upside down, everything changes and you don't know what to do. You're angry, sad, confused, depressed, sometimes all at the same time. Then one day my best friend called me and said he's in town and we should meet up at the bar. Drove two and a half hours just to get here. So we sat at the bar, a couple of beers in and I was just pouring my heart out. After a while of me ranting he turned to me, put his arm on my shoulder, smiled and said "Use my code to get NordVPN free for the first month." That's when I knew everything would be alright.

They're cheaper on Amazon but they're quite heavy and the sleeve is fairly thin so mine got beat up on the way. I looked at it just now and the normal size print is fine to read actually compared to a regular book. It just looks delicate I guess. But it's quite nice overall.
Whenever anyone asks my opinion on anything I link them to my book on amazon, after which they quickly lose interest in anything I have to say for some reason.
Good parenting. May I suggest this little forgotten gem from my childhood.
"It comes in plates?! I'm getting one!" Here's a link to the plate on the bottom right: https://www.amazon.com/Cheer-Dinner-Thorin-Kitchenware-Plates/dp/B08T1VJ4TT/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=6XP4C0TQTOV3&dchild=1&keywords=lord+of+the+rings+dinner+plates&qid=1633198625&sprefix=lord+of+the+rings+dinner+&sr=8-3
In this edition: https://www.amazon.it/dp/B004XKRO6Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_1SJEZYAHHJ8V42C02X8Y
There are the 3 movies extended edition (with more scenes) in Blu-ray and 9 DVD of extra content: cast interviews, the transition to book to film etc.
Get yourself the Tolkien Dictionary. Pretty cheap and IMMENSELY helpful.
Hey man there’s 3 of em

Highly recommend too! They old tho
for a solid 2 hrs I had forgotten that books vary in length... 128 for you is about 104 for me... I'm reading the "travel bible" editions that are big enough to fit in my back pocket and have smaller text. these ones
Here's the Dual monitor that I use. Using the VESA mounts, you can rotate one or both of your screens. Any screen can be rotated, it's actually a setting on your computer.
https://www.amazon.com/Lord-Rings-Picture-Extended-Theatrical/dp/B08KQBYM1Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=lotr+4k&qid=1629292525&sr=8-3 Here's what I bought. Are you in America by any chance?
Have this set, absolutely love it. Got a 4k BluRay player just in anticipation of this set coming out. Art on the steelbooks look glorious. If I had one complaint, it's that it doesn't have the Alan Lee art that the DVD box set had, and very sadly no appendices
It’s a fantastic read, by the way. The commentary is good if you’re into that sort of thing, but there’s also some other writing in their that’s a lot of fun.
Remember the previous fuck off Middle Earth collection?
I think they wanted $600 for it or something years ago.
I picked up one for $296 or so and got it for free. How do you get things for free from Jeff Bezos? It's not something the Jedi would tell you i'll tell ya that. (;
It's pretty dope though, even if I had paid for it proper. Gonna need to buy the 4K set and replace the discs or something.
The blu ray version of this box is the most extended one:
https://www.amazon.com/-/de/Lord-Rings-Fellowship-Extended-Editions/dp/B007ZQAKHU
I came a cross a few people who own the extended DVD's and they all thought that was it. These blu-rays that I linked to, only in that box, are the real deal.
The full title is “The Music of The Lord of the Rings Films: A Comprehensive Account of Howard Shore's Scores”
here is the Amazon link.
It’s a beautifully printed book and contains loads of sheet music excerpts
I got them for around 45 dollars on a deal on Amazon years ago on Blu-ray. I doubt it's on sale now though. But totally worth it.
Edit: it's 57 right now.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZQAKHU/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_W.NVEbMYJX039
But if you don't care about 4k, here it is on Amazon. Will probably go on sale for about $50 during Black Friday next month, though.
Ah! No worries my friend, "Reddit is Fun!" has the same(-ish?) features!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andrewshu.android.reddit
Unfortunately I cannot link/suggest one for iOS as I'm an android basic bitch. If you have iOS I ~~pity you~~ found some results on reddit suggesting "narwhal" (from here) :)
