Blow dry immediately out of shower, pre treat with HANZ DE FUKO™ GRAVITY PASTE™. Dampen with morrocan sea salt spray, I say dampen and I mean it, too much water at this point is going to create more frizz then you want. Next whip out your HANZ DE FUKO™ CLAYMATION™, nothing else will work half as good trust me, scoop out a palm sized amount and really work it in to your scalp. Really get it in good, I find it helpful to use a orbital buffer, I personally use a the Porter Cable 7424xp if you don't mind occasional caking or streaks Ryobi makes an ok buffer (I wouldn't know). What your gonna want to do is gently pulse the trigger of the buffer (instead of keeping the buffer turned on continuously). This will ensure that your HANZ DE FUKO™ product doesn't cake on the surface. Cover one-quarter of the scalp at a time before removing. Finally finish with HANZ DE FUKO™ STYLE-LOCK HAIRSPRAY. Make sure to hold the can 6 to 8 inches away from scalp surface. Spray using several thin coats of product instead of one thick coat. Begin and finish spreaying off your head, releasing the tip at the end of each pass. Use an even side-to-side motion. Overlap your spray pattern by about one-third with each pass. Finally it helps every summer and winter solstice to make a blood sacrifice to Sif, personally I like to use HANZ DE FUKO™ TRANFUSION™, but a lamb or first born child works all the same. Just remember a lot of these celebrities are beautiful people and no matter how much HANZ DE FUKO™ you use you'll never be as pretty as them. Don't get discouraged though, it will take some practice!
There it is! Couldn't agree more, use a clay. I'm a big fan of Woody's.
Here's how you'll get as close as possible. After you step out of the shower:
Towel-dry your hair.
Use a leave-in conditioner like this one. It will act as a heat shield and protect your hair.
Blowdry your hair into position while brushing it in the direction you want using heat.
Once it's dry and in the position you want, add just a little bit of argan oil. You can really get in there an mix it in at the roots and your hair will still fall back into place easily because of step 3.
Now add a small amount of your matte product, and make sure you emulsify it by rubbing your hands together first for an even coat. Do the same thing as the oil. Get in there and coat the roots. Remember, less is more. It's really only needed to provide a bit of texture as your hair is already in position from the blowdrying and softened from the oil. The more you add, the less hold you'll have (as paradoxical as that sounds).
This stuff did absolute wonders for me I had similar problems and the same hair type as you. I still don't regret buying it.
I use a hand mirror to see the back of my head and a relatively cheap Phillips trimmer, this one:
I also use barber scissors but not very frequently, just to touch areas up.
Something heavier than this stuff?
Also I made another comment where I mentioned the full routine (guessing I wasn't done typing it when you posted) but I do comb it.
Actually I'm not sure yet.
I want to see some options and then decide what to do.
But untill that I think I'm going to take your advice and go with a man bun.
Something like this?
There’s a lot of variety even there. I have found the Yupoong snap backs to be nice and deep and work best backwards. As a bonus they are cheap, come in a number of colors, and you can add your own patches. Yupoong 6006W Unisex Adult Classic Two Tone Trucker Cap https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UZM9OU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_YMybGbR7GJK01
It looks really good right now. Your "before" is looking like a lot of peoples "after"
If the awkward pre-gel length bothers you that much, you can buy a decent beard trimmer (I use this one by Panasonic) and do a little maintenance yourself. Beyond Youtube, it really helps to have someone with a sense of style "spot" you the first couple times until you get the feel for it. This is NOT a full replacement for a haircut, just a method to keep the sides looking fresh.
If you wanted to get more "fashionable" you could definitely do a classic mid/high fade, let the top go a little longer and comb it back with gel (which has the bonus effect of making the sides look comparatively shorter)
Here is a pic of a cut similar, except on a real person:

You can always adjust the actual length to your own liking.
I battled this same issue and after a decade of throwing every treatment other than hair transplant onto my scalp I finally found the solution. It’s a scary solution to apply but it’s incredibly effective. My confidence is back and I no longer worry about my combover. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014SG66UO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ix3NCbNTXSRYY
Maybe a tiny bit of almond oil rubbed into your scalp while you're still in the shower, and then towel dry your hair. Try baby shampoo.
Your problem may be helped by improving your diet and trying some nutritional supplements:
http://www.ehow.com/way_5748810_diet-remedy-dry-scalp.html
Definitely add extra virgin olive oil to your diet, but it's best to use on salads or to add some crushed garlic to it and then dip some bread into it and eat it that way. Some people with dry skin, etc. don't have enough oil/fat in their diet. At least take a daily vitamin, though extra vitamin E and buffered vitamin C might help.
Short cut, pull hair forward. I think its called a Caesar cut. If you want, grow it out a little longer on top to have more to mess with.
To be honest, I don't remember exactly when I started growing, but here is a picture of me from about a year ago (early 2012 december) for some reference.
And I will look Avan Jogia's hairstyles, thank you.
Treatment of dandruff with 5% tea tree oil shampoo
>Background: Dandruff appears to be related to the yeast Pityrosporum ovale. Tea tree oil has antifungal properties with activity against P ovale and may be useful in the treatment of dandruff. Objective: We conducted a randomized, single-blind, parallel-group study to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of 5% tea tree oil and placebo in patients with mild to moderate dandruff. Methods: One hundred twenty-six male and female patients, aged 14 years and older, were randomly assigned to receive either 5% tea tree oil shampoo or placebo, which was used daily for 4 weeks. The dandruff was scored on a quadrant-area-severity scale and by patient self-assessment scores of scaliness, itchiness, and greasiness. Results: The 5% tea tree oil shampoo group showed a 41% improvement in the quadrant-area-severity score compared with 11% in the placebo group (P < .001). Statistically significant improvements were also observed in the total area of involvement score, the total severity score, and the itchiness and greasiness components of the patients' self-assessments. The scaliness component of patient self-assessment improved but was not statistically significant. There were no adverse effects. Conclusion: Five percent tea tree oil appears to effective and well tolerated in the treatment of dandruff. (J Am Acad Dermatol 2002;47:852-5.)
Emphasis added.
I was able to find some data discussing peppermint oil, but none as convincing.
I would suggest either adding 5% tea tree oil by volume to a bottle of gentle shampoo, or buying a commercial preparation of shampoo that comes with close to 5% tea tree oil.
Also, be careful not to accidentally consume any of the essential oils. It may also increase the irritation of shampoo getting in your eyes.
I currently have bleached hair and the product i used that drastically whitened my hair was Clairol Shimmer Lights. Just do two washes every day for a week and your hair will lighten a whole lot. Just watch out not to dry out your hair too much so condition a lot.
Hi there. First of all, you have a very nice beard and eyes. But what I noticed first was the curl in your hair going outwards. It might be unfavorable for your style. You look like a nice person, but long curly hair most often look girly. With this much hair on your head, you have many oportunities to style and cut them.
Having this beard length, your face starts looking rounder. This is normal, because with the beard you can't see the jaw line. But this is fine, there are ways to counteract this. If you like your beard, keep it! I think you should. One way to counteract it is you should give your face some definition, some manly "edges" by shortening your hair. This will, most likely, look neat and your face will look more open and more friendly.
One extreme example of this is is a undercut. It might work for you having a undercut with mid-long hair combed over. In a clean way or in a lumbered-look kind of way.
If this is too extreme for you, which I think might be the case (It would be too extreme for my taste as well), you could consider this (Image) Which might also work really well for you, even with a longer beard. But I have no idea how your hair behaves if it is shorter, I guess it curls like the end of your hair so this might work just like you see in the picture. With this lighting and the movement in the video i find it verry hard to make out your face shape and give recommendations based on that. Maybe your local barber or hair stylist can help you.
Also one thing you shouldn't do is just let it grow and tie it together like a man-bun. For this, you would need verry strong facial features and a optimal face shape. There is just a tiny percentage of men who can wear it right.
Hope this helps. :) Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, I'm not a native speaker.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AEBV0HW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_WWSExbY18SGT4 - here's one off Amazon that's under $20.00.
I think that if you get your teeth whitened and ask for some advice on a skincare subreddit (your skin isn't bad at all, I just think you've got a great starting point) you could really have something pretty special going on. You are not traditionally handsome at all but your facial features are so strong that I think it's quite a striking look.
I also agree with the other guys here - your hair is good. I would definitely try the short sides and back (undercut). If you doesn't work then it should only take a few months to grow out.
While I dont know how effective honey + water is on dandruff, you gotta remember its summer and since you're losing weight you're probably sweating alot more.
Why dont you give Nizoral shampoo a try? Here's the Amazon link : https://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-Anti-Dandruff-Shampoo-4-oz/dp/B0000Y3CRY
Kenra Platinum Dry Texture Spray #6, 55% VOC, 5.3-Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K6LAAKI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qBfFBb8TPNCXQ
To be quite honest I have only tried this spray because it was the #1 result on Amazon (I’m lazy, sue me). If you do try this don’t use too much because it can make your hair sticky and weird looking. Less is more
look for products that hold better - I know nearly nothing about most product since I've been shaved most of my life, but from the few years I did style I'd say gel and hairspray will hold the most helmet-head style and fall out easiest.

I found an awesome line of wax that worked wonders, smelled good and has options called Gatsby moving rubber. Amazon link to one I used for a thin hair medium length classic side part and a chartfor which would work best for you.

I'm sure there are other brands but I'd say your ultimate question is all about the product you choose - people swear by crew pomade, but I found this to work way better over the course of the day
You sound EXACTLY like how I was. r/keto is what sorted me out. The best part is you never feel hungry so its really easy to stay on this diet. In fact you almost feel bad since you eat nothing but fatty foods! Funny thing is its makes you lose weight. I Lost over 45 lbs in a few months with little exercise and no calorie counting. Its not for everyone but if you like fat heavy foods and think you can give up soda and sugar its truly a miracle diet. Heres the first step if you want to try this path.... Read this. https://docs.google.com/a/gsa.gov/document/d/1aiHSPoto_YqsNTDvL-g60nytMnyH-CJcCbiAx1IEUYM/edit?pli=1
This Layrite video is pretty helpful as far as how it's done. The actual execution will just take time and practice. For what it's worth, the Layrite super hold actually is perfect for this style, not just the video.
When it comes to the part, having it cut in will certainly help, but I'm not a fan of how it looks once it starts growing out so I never did it. Just setting the comb down and dragging it lengthwise about a half inch and then pulling that hair to one side only take a second anyway.
Edit: Here's a fantastic illustration of the part technique I was talking about earlier. That Instagram account (Barber Justin) is chock full of pompadour goodness too, in case you want another reference for the barber.
https://instagram.com/thysonb/ thjis bouma is my top inspiration and I'm modelling my next cut after him. getting the same lineup. already have the length though.
just tough it out through the akward stage
Personally I think it may just be in your head, you just notice it a bit more because you're concerned with going bald. You lose way more hair than that per day. You just don't really notice it. What is normal hair loss and excessive hair loss? What type of shampoo and conditioner do you use?
it's almost a cross between an ivy league and a faux hawk
Leave the length on the top and in the front, and trim the sides and back to an inch or two. It should look like something from this album from the [/r/malefashionadvice](/r/malefashionadvice) hairstyle guide, which can be found here. You can probably use a simple wax or a matte pomade to style it, 10 seconds and you'll be good to go. Good luck.
Thanks! I get a 3 on the sides, and I use the tresemme spray that it the strongest. Lemme find a link.
I think you should use a comb.
Stop brushing your hair forward as seen here.
Never try to comb over baldness or receding hairlines. All that accomplishes is to show that you are insecure.
I would get it cut shorter.
It's not just the type of hair that matters, when deciding on a hairstyle. You also have to take into account your face shape. For example, if you have an oblong face shape, that hairstyle would look horrible, because it would make your face look even longer (because of the Elvis at the front).
These two sites are good resources to determine your facial shape: [1], [2].
Ok cool, I'll take a look at those too. My hair is slightly curly naturally, just slightly (maybe wavy is a better term). I tend to blow-dry my hair a little before styling it which straightens it out a little so I can throw some product in for a sort of faux hawk style. Is it ok to blow dry my hair so often? Here is a pic (not the best pic, but can get the idea of what my hair looks like):
Pinterest is actually a fantastic site for men's haircuts.
Take a look: http://pinterest.com/irenejanzen/for-the-men/
If you do search the site, remember the whole site is character sensitive. "Mens haircut" (no apostrophe in mens, no plural haircut) will result in wildly different images than "Men's haircuts"
I think it looks great, especially in the third picture. Have you tried nopoo / curly girl method?
I've also heard good things about argan oil and this curl cream, which might help emphasize the ringlets and good parts about curly hair, while keeping it a little more tame.
Not sure where you are buying your American Crew, but this will have to be free if its $10 cheaper than it is on Amazon.
It looks sick! I'd recommend using some light product with it to smooth out the frizziness. I personally use this, but feel free to check out all the options on Amazon!
I mean ultimately it comes down to taste but if you want something more natural looking i would recommend
https://pomadeshop.com/marken/uppercut/1762/uppercut-matte-pomade
Or https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07F1XLF1K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IWHeFbJYBXZ03
one of the best $8 solutions you can do is add Argan oil/Morroccan oil to your regiment (after washing, apply liberally). Something like this.

Sculptures in Astoria man. Mostly hispanic guys working and getting their cuts there, all speak perfect English, and all know how to cut. Plus you can reserve ahead of time using this app Booksy
Reuzel blue. I personally like the yellow one, it holds better. But this one is very light.
It's where the hairline is shaved in. Like this. And just so it's clear, By right side I mean the side that's close to the Vader poster in the first photo.
go for this. Tighten up the sides and throw some pomade in and give it a good part. I think it would suit you since his face shape is similar and stuff
If you need product recommendations let me know
Thanks for the thoughts. I meant to add a hair pulled back photo to begin with but forgot: https://imgur.com/a/2sS1d#0
I was pondering going bold and doing something along these lines (I like the right one): http://www.primermagazine.com/2013/learn/the-haircut-ryan-gosling But in the end I just don't think I can pull that off.
It seems hard to find a variety of men's hair styles that have bangs but AREN'T that young skater type look.
Start using this product, it good for hair growth
google it man. although all of these are over the top, you can do something like this. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1TSND_enUS404US404&ix=hca&q=faux+hawk&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=dVbpTsTQPOKJsQLWz63VCA&biw=1366&bih=667&sei=elbpTsDKAsOJsgLolpWSCQ
hehe, i have the same problem, asian as well. my hairline is worse and bigger if u build muscles u can rock the shorter hair cut, with shorter bangs. shorter bangs are better because if u do go outside a lot the side wind wont affect ur hair much. I always look at my forehead everyday, but then I realized, make some money, get some hair transplant later if it bothers that much. tbh with u, no girl care about this stuff, it's just in our head.
We grew up with big foreheads, we just noticed now since we're more self-conscious.
here is my current hairstyle, http://imgur.com/C0wKIEO
check out kim moon chul, he also got a forehead similar to ours, he rocks his hair pretty well
http://tinypic.com/r/ljqfb/8 or my old haircut, I just embraced the big forehead, it might not look as big as yours, but trust me, when i pull my hair back, my forehead is bigger. o ya dont pull ur hair back so much, gentle pull is good, but with shorter hair, go for a more tan look, it's good =)
I’m not sure how much you already know about curly hair so I’ll just assume nothing so that way I don’t leave out info you might not know that I personally found helpful for my curly hair :)
The key to making curly hair look good is moisture, so definitely don’t shampoo super often (I personally shampoo once a week and do two or three co-washes in between with just conditioner) and it’s really important that you’re using products that are made for curly hair so that you’re getting that moisture
Here is the shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream I use https://www.amazon.com/Shea-Moisture-Coconut-Hibiscus-Combination/dp/B00LS2BZ6M
Some extra tips: Don’t rub your hair with towel all crazy when you get out the shower, pat and scrunch, and maybe even use a soft t shirt for you hair instead, friction = frizz
Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb or brush when it is wet, that way you can avoid tugging and breakage, I also will comb my hair while I have conditioner in on the days I use conditioner
Before you get out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water for like 30 seconds - 1 minute, especially when you use conditioner, this closes the hair’s cuticle and helps lock in moisture
When styling it, style when it is damp after you dried it a bit, and then once you’re done applying product and styling it, don’t blow dry it, just let it air dry, or alternatively use a blow dryer with a diffuser, that way your hair doesn’t turn into a frizz ball
Whew, sorry if that’s a lot info you already know but I covered as much as I could think of at the moment, I definitely know how difficult curly hair can be, I would also recommend looking up some YouTube videos for men’s curly hair, you can find a lot of good advice that way as well
This might do the trick? Depends on your hair length a bit. Obviously you can still tell there's product in the hair, but it's definitely not sticky
I doubt he changed it , being the way he is , casual and doesn't care about brands too much. Even if he did , it should give you some insight , Hoping i helped
Probably some sort of wax, clay or paste.
I remember Gatsby was pretty popular back in the early 2010s (my observation, at least). https://www.amazon.com/GATSBY-MOVING-RUBBER-SPIKY-2-8oz/dp/B000V2ACH8
I wear my hair back like this too. I also use a metal band to keep it back, though I think yours is not very good looking.
Here is the one I'm using, the top left one in this collection: Amazon Link
I think this is much sleeker and looks better.
Now onto your haircut. Unfortunately pulling your hair back really exadurates your hairline, and we both don't have good ones. My advice would be to experiment with different styles, rather than just pushing it all back. Use the internet for ideas and styling gel to achieve whatever look you want.
Good luck!
It was this. Of course, Amazon now has it at 64 fucking dollars, but when I got it it was $16, so just browse around.
Nothing special to it, I put some in a pills container that's soaking in hot water, let it warm up. Just microwave water in a bowl, put the oil in pill container or other small bottle, put that in the bowl and lay a butter knife across to fight buoyancy. My wife would wash my hair (not needed but having someone wash your hair is hella <3 <3) and put it on. Then 45-60 mins later you just rinse it off in the shower. (Don't WASH your hair, or you'll wash the oil away)
Your hair gets INSANELY soft and light, so if you're a gel/wax/product guy, it's a bit harder to get your hair in shape after. After a couple months of doing this once a week, I stopped getting flakes when I run my hand in my hair. I wish I knew about this in my teenage years... Turns out dandruff shampoo was making my scalp extra dry so it was making it worse, basically.
Disclaimer: I'm not a big fashion guy and I don't care much about my looks, so hopefully I don't set you off on the wrong path. (I ended up clicking on this sub by curiosity, you know, to see how out of touch I am now...) but for $15 CAD you get a few months of use, so it's worth the shot, imo.
hey woman here! I'd like to say first i think you look great still but I lost my hair big time post partum after both my kids. im talking so so thin, way more thin than yours. I used this product called Toppik and it was amazing. I bet it would work great for you!
https://www.amazon.com/Toppik-Hair-Building-Fibers-Black/dp/B0013TZ016
if you want to commit to this longer style I'd say you need to keep growing it for another 6 months to a year and get it really long then can see about getting it styled. Its a tough process but can look really cool and I think you have a face for it especially with a nice long well maintained beard. I would say keep going middle part like in this picture, right now may also want to get one of those plastic hair bands or similar like I link below as well as can do hats since its in an awkward stage but still looking decent. as it gets longer can tie back with elastic hairband, use hats, etc. Go for it and grow it out bro the longer it gets like if hair on the top of head comes down to shoulders can look stupidly good as I've seen in some brown dudes that have grown it out who I know.
I use l'ange sea salt spray, but i dont really use it that often
While i feel like all sea salt sprays do their job, if you however want to do some additional research you can search for sea salt sprays for your particular hair type & density. There's a lot of information on reddit for example
Sure, I use SheaMoisture’s Curl and Shine Shampoo and conditioner https://www.amazon.com/Shea-Moisture-Coconut-Hibiscus-Combination/dp/B00LS2BZ6M
Get a scalp stimulator like this one https://www.amazon.com/Massager-Shampoo-HEETA-Upgraded-Silicone/dp/B08NVKNY6Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=167W3CQPCC1N8&keywords=scalp+massager+hair+growth&qid=1658863317&sprefix=scalp+%2Caps%2C110&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5j... and massage your scalp with olive oil
I use this for a very similar look, you can check it on my Reddit profile. Would recommend it ngl, very easy just rub it from one hand to another then into the hair :D
No idea who he is but I have the same cut and go for the same style as him but my hair ends up looking a little thinner and not as curly/voluminous all over as his. My current hair routine is:
Brush hair after shower
Apply 5 sea salt sprays while damp
Blow dry on low settings; mess hair up while drying
Apply quicksand texture clay (hanz de fuko) (medium hold, no matte)
Anything im missing? Could just be my hair vs his
Ohh gotchya, hmm well I want a round brush mostly since I see most hair tutorials use them but the ones I find are boar bristle ones like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Belula-Bristle-Drying-Barrel-Hairbrush/dp/B09RSTDKR7/ref=sr\_1\_3\_sspa?crid=3T5TMV4UMLRYU&keywords=round+brush+men&qid=1657252029&sprefix=round+brush+men%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-3-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdG...
During the 80’s I usually went with Alberto, which I don’t think is available anymore. Suave was also a good back up. Now, every once in a while I will buy TRESemme
You've got the same hair as me! Love the length! I got the solutions for you:
Number one solution, recommended to me by my barbers, is to use a Hair Serum. Your main problem seems to be your hair is frazzled and dry, using a small amount of serum on damp hair really helps to bind frazzled hair and 'moisturize' the look so it becomes less dry.
I used it for the first time and I was blown away. A single bottle lasts ages too since you don't need much each time. I put it on damp hair after a morning shower.
Here is the one I use and highly recommend:
John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum 50 ml 2020000 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HYY7EIG/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_EDCCWS81M77ZX9GGASF7
Other notes would be to 'Scrunch-dry' your hair after a shower - dab your hair, not rub!
DON'T roughly dry your hair with your towel by rubbing it all over - this friction frazzles your hair and causes it to go all over the place.
DO let your wet hair droop down. Collect it on one side of your head if that makes this easier. Then take your towel, put it below your drooped hair, and push it upwards, causing your hair to scrunch up vertically. (like this) Repeat this process with dry parts of the towel until your hair is mostly dry/just damp, and leave to air dry or use a Hair dryer on cold setting.
That's it! Look up best hair practices if you want more tips. Best of luck!

Apologies, the name is actually Faith in Nature.
Faith In Nature Natural Coconut Conditioner, Hydrating, Vegan and Cruelty Free, No SLS or Parabens, For Normal to Dry Hair, 400 ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GY7D13G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_0Z7YG3S6DNV7G7BZ4Q09
Here is the hair masque, and the shampoo and conditioner. Thats really all I use. I’d recommend a satin hair cap and leaving that masque in for 30 minutes to an hour. I’ve heard people say they leave it In overnight but the label doesn’t recommend it. For more options, go to a hair dresser or dermatologist and ask for recommendations.
When I go get a hair cut I usually just ask them to trim , and take the back/sides to a number 5 and keep it little longer on top.
I want to keep growing it out to achieve a longer hair look but need some advice on how to clean it up and best style it. My hair feels very straight and I can’t get it ever to stay or look how I want.
Maybe someone out there can recommend some product too? I’ve found this works “best” from everything I’ve tried so far. Thanks I’m advance 🙏
Yeah...that's a big improvement, it works well with those glasses and somehow it makes you look even smarter LOL!. I wouldn't go any shorter but you might try taking just a little bit off your beard and see how that looks.
My hair is starting to get a little thiner in the front and I use a light blonde fill in powder that subtly darkens my scalp so it doesn't show through my hair and makes it look thicker. It stays in until you wash it off and it's easy to use. https://www.amazon.com/Rivers-Great-Fill-Powder-Blonde/dp/B00DQUVXPW
I'm in an awkward phase too, I like to part it down the middle and use matte wax. I use this brand. I would also recommend using a hair dryer to add volume and texture.
Landed on this one and actually really like it. Good hold, washes out pretty cleanly.
Not sure why people are making fun of the OP. The OP asked how he can have this style. He didn't ask for people's opinion.
Anyways... it seems like you need to get your hair short and use hair product. I found this the other day, it's called "Gatsby Hair Wax." I think you can only get it on Amazon since it's a Japanese product.
GATSBY MOVING RUBBER SPIKY EDGE Hair Wax, 80g/2.8oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V2ACH8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_QB0FA0STY3X3D60DNH0P
I personally haven't used it gatsby hair products but I have seen someone use it on youtube and the videos provided on Amazon. This may be what you're looking for.
I’m currently using Huron which is in your budget. But no matter what you choose, I’d recommend leaving your conditioner in for 3-5 minutes in the shower before rinsing. That’s really helped me with letting some moisture soak back in.

Leave it in your hair for only a partial amount of time, and then wash out. I have very similar hair type as yours and it will loosen the curls without making it bone straight. Just make sure you pay close attention to being gentle around your scalp and the base of your hair. Depending on how fast your hair grows , it will require touch up every other month or so (only at the roots).

Sea Salt Spray
Shake it really well before spraying since it tends to separate.
I use something like these as a dispense. Usually double up the recipe and do a couple bottles at a time.’

Make sure you clean the sprayers really well with a drop of dawn dish soap between batches because the oils can cause the spray mechanism to not work as well after a while.
his hair has a wet typa look to it so obviously some sorta gel that gives a shine
i used this for a halloween costume last year as billy from scream and it worked great.
OP, you look like my husband. (So I think you're cute.)

He insists on keeping his bangs. (He also has a large forehead. Bangs help hide that.)
In this pic, his hair is a little longer than he usually keeps it.
His goatee, which I LOVE, makes a nice vertical line in his face, drawing the eye vertically, which takes attention off of his chin. I get why you consider yourself to have a weak chin, but I disagree with your assessment.
I've been happily married to my sweetie for over 15 yrs.
btw, my husband is only 5'3 1/2" He was flirted with last week by a 6 ft. tall woman. It made his week lol
edit: the only thing unattractive about you, OP, is your poor self-esteem.
When someone compliments you, it is REALLY fucking rude to turn around and argue with them about their compliment. You're telling that person that their personal opinion is wrong and that you know better. (really?)
Okay, not meaning to hijack, but this is close to my ideal of what I'd like my hair to be. Here's me, using AC Fiber and some argan oil for shine/texture (ignore the flakes if you can, I'm trying a nopoo thing). How can I get my hair to be more like Ewan's sexy hair? Things I notice immediately: the shape's a bit different, mine's wider (and not just cuz of my big ol' head) and there's much more in the back, and I have a lot of fly-away single strands in the front that suck, and the texture's not as nice.

Here is a similar cut with a picture of the back.
Yes, typically the bangs are longer although these haircuts vary so it is up to you how long you'd like the front to be.
It isn't to hard to style. Apply the product then comb everything to the side except the front bangs with are combed back over the top of the rest of the hair in this picture.
It's great to hear that people are starting to consider not using shampoo. It's expensive and is hazardous to you hair.
As you, I had used shampoo/conditioner my whole life. I'm only 16 now, but I stopped on New Years. I considered myself to have fairly thick hair compared to some people. It wasn't extremely thick but it definitely weighed itself down a good amount.
After two months of not using shampoo or conditioner, I am seeing great results. My hair doesn't produce any excess oil and feels great. I am also having a much easier time styling it as there is a perfect amount of natural oils in my hair now.
The transition from excess oil production to a minimal production speed took around 2 weeks give or take a few days. When my hair did get too oily, I just mixed some baking soda with some water and mixed that into my hair and used it in replace of shampoo. Do not do this every time you shower though. Only a couple times a month when your hair gets noticeably oily or you know you have been getting it dirty.
If you want to read about it some more, check out this website. It describes the process well, and there are plenty of other great sources if you do a quick Google search if you want.
Personally, I do not use conditioner. I'm not exactly sure if conditioner is "allowed" so I just avoid it completely and I have no problems. I might do a little more research on whether conditioner is safe for your hair and let you know later.
And yes, on a typical shower, I just wash my hair throurougly with only water. Scrub pretty good and get down to the roots and scalp with water only. If you see your hair looks a bit too oily or you know you've been getting dirty and or sweaty, use some baking soda. Just a bit of baking soda in a bowl with some water is good. Just dump it in your hair and wash as if you were using shampoo.
EDIT: Here is a nice website that describes washing and conditioning.
Honestly, most are just lightweight conditioners, so you can make your own. Otherwise, I have this, and it works nicely for my purposes. The shine in the Franco pic could be achieved using a pomade, American Crew has a good one, and Aveeno does too.
I have found it to be the perfect moisturizer, and it helps a lot with shine. You really can't go wrong with the eggs, but the amount of olive oil to be used varies from person to person I would guess, I only use just a teaspoon.

DHT is good for development, that is all I know. After puberty you really dont need it. Talk to a good dermatologist they will know more.
I had terrible dandruff but got on fin and it stopped, sebum which is oil on the head. Some people think that when your balding it increases sebum which than increases dandruff.

this is the best dandruff shampoo I have ever used..
yeah what Chris said … work with a higher buzz and if you not comfortable with it you can decide afterwards. I’d recommend finding where the length of you hair is now somewhere between 1” or 1 1/2” and buzz a few times a week at the highest length… it will encourage shorter hair to catch up in about 2 months . gradually increase from there … no fancy fades or whatnot just focus on keeping everything even until the trouble areas are encouraged to reach the controlled height .

I might sound like a crazy hippy, but start taking Omega 3 and 6 DHA fatty acids. Give it a couple weeks.
Also, make sure you have enough calcium, zinc, B-12, molybdenum... (or just take a multi vitamin like this one: http://www.costco.com/vitafusion%E2%84%A2-Men's-Multivitamin%2c-220-Gummies.product.100140032.html)
No amount of external care can compare to the natural oils that your body should be excreting to moisten your hair.
I had the same problem as you. Dry hair and dandruff. Like you, I tried everything. Not washing, moisturizing only, coconut oil, avocado leaf extract, drinking TONS of water, head and shoulders, everything just seemed to dry it out more... Fixed it by upping my vitamins and oils in my diet.
You say your hair is thinning on top, and yet provided no pictures of the top of your head. If you're worried about male pattern baldness, try kirkland minoxidil.

How long does my hair even have to be? what do I need to maintain my hair healthy for this etc.
Hey, that's awesome but I'm not sure what length each part of the hair needs to be. It's currently longest at the far left and shortest on the right hand side. I struggle when it's shorter too. Getting the volume isn't an issue. It's just the right shape I have very fine thin hair. However, here are more photos closer to when I have a fresh haircut : http://imgbox.com/g/GPtvfej6vc
This is an album with a few more angles: https://imgur.com/a/67Mbz
I would prefer a bit of a longer style, maybe just a little shorter than this, I also have a cowlick on my right side so that might be a problem.
Here are pictures of the back, side and top. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMUYWda4aV19vQPKZWdFE5fVopLHxzL6WmkxCZo
Also, does it looking like I'm balding/thinning from the top.....=( ?
I like that you are stopping shampoo. I haven't touched shampoo in over a month and my hair has been great with little to no problems. I must say though, for some people, their oil production is really high and stopping cold turkey can make their hair very oily. Here is a tutorial on how to slowly lay off the shampoo but keep your hair less oily by using natural resources.
